“But, have you played lesbian multiple times!?” We're journalists, kids. And we're here with the one and only Beth Broderick. You Might Know Her From Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Lost, Psycho Beach Party, The 5 Mrs Buchanans, Bad Actress, Sharp Objects, Love & Death, Hearts Afire, and The Bonfire of the Vanities. Beth gave us all the goods on playing witch-cum-scientist-cum-CANDLE (!) Zelda Spellman on Sabrina the Teenage Witch and the specialness of reprising that role in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina 18 years later. We also got to discuss her working relationships with everyone from Marc Cherry to Brad Pitt to her Psycho Beach Party co-star Charles Busch; the wild ride that was the notorious The Bonfire of The Vanities (how tall is Bruce Willis, really?), and how her AIDS activism has connected her to the LGBT community. We had a beautiful conversation with Beth and just in time for Halloweenie! Happy Spooky Season to all you ghouls. we are beginning a new series entitled, Love in Any Language. In it, we will examine the different relationships we have in life and how love is the centerpiece in all of them. Our first message will have us take a look at “Hearts Afire” in the relationship we call, marriage. When sparks fly between two people, the intensity of love begins to burn hot and our relationship is ignited to something wonderful.
Jesus left us His church and He empowered the Church with the sacraments to help draw us deeper into that beautifully divine light. But like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, he will not force us to accept him. We have to open ourselves to the possibility of an encounter with the risen Jesus Christ.

Today's guest is Monique McDonell. She says: I am an Australian author who writes contemporary women's fiction including chick lit and romance. I have written all my life especially as a child when I loved to write short stories and poetry. At University I studied Creative Writing as part of my Communication degree. Afterwards I was busy working in public relations I didn't write for pleasure for quite a few years although I wrote many media releases, brochures and newsletters. (And I still do in my day-job!) When I began to write again I noticed a trend - writing dark unhappy stories made me unhappy. So I made a decision to write a novel with a happy ending and I have been writing happy stories ever since. I am the author of five stand alone novels including Mr. Right and Other Mongrels and Hearts Afire and the Upper Crust, Courtside and Jewel Sisters Romance Series. Many of my novels focus on an Australian characters meeting and visiting US characters. I like to think I write men you’ll fall in love with and women you’ll want to be friends with. In 2015 had a piece on writing chicklit featured in the successful Australian non-fiction book Copyfight. I live on Sydney's Northern Beaches with my husband and daughter. To learn more about my writing, my caffeine obsession and my upcoming books please visit www.moniquemcdonell.com.au. Thursday, July 12, 2012 This week’s episode: Blessed Are They: St Catherine Labore and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Among Women Guest: Kelly Wahlquist, Director of HAPP This podcast explains what sacramentals are, as it takes another look at my recent pilgrmage to France. This time I describe visiting the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal at 140, Rue de Bac in Paris, where Mary appeared to St Catherine Labore in 1830. Then I have a conversation with Kelly Wahlquist about an exciting new parish-based program called Hearts Afire, that takes its cue from the two hearts of Jesus and Mary.
