Meghna sheds light on Transboundary waters, their connections with climate change, and the role of young people in climate change. In addition, you will learn about: The concept of upstream and downstream nations How conflict breaks out when one nation's relationship with water affects the others. Ways to be more effective and efficient with our water use - especially with the rising populations across the world. One key takeaway for me is that: Conversations are good but conversations alone won't bring change, rather conversation should guide actions. So much to learn on this podcast. In this episode, Andrea interviews Meghna Mistry.  Andrea and Meghna delved into the core principles of Ayurveda and how it distinguishes itself from Western medicine. They highlighted that Ayurveda takes a holistic approach to health, focusing on the balance of doshas, or energy types, within the body. Treatments often include herbal remedies and lifestyle modifications aimed at restoring this balance. Meghna further elaborated on how Ayurveda pays close attention to digestion and its subsequent effects on different bodily tissues like the skin, identified common mistakes that can lead to dosha imbalances and not living in sync with the Ayurvedic body clock. The conversation also exposed some popular practices considered healthy in mainstream circles but deemed counterproductive in Ayurvedic terms. For full show notes and information: click here.To connect with Meghna:www.instagram.com/bliss.by.balancewww.facebook.com/bliss.by.balanceDid you know my practice is entirely virtual? It's pretty obvious that when your child has sleep issues, you take them to the dentist…right? Well, as counterintuitive as that might sound, it might be the one thing you never knew about that could literally change your life, and most importantly, your child's!  Sleep is a HUGE issue for parents from the moment our kids are born all the way through the teen years. I talk to my clients frequently about sleep strategies for their kids who resist going to sleep, have regular pop ups, nightly wakings, and wake up too early in the morning. When your kids aren't sleeping, nobody's sleeping and that can spiral into parents being exhausted, irritable, and short tempered and for your kids, they can be dysregulated, unfocused, and much more challenging to parent. Perhaps one of the last things you'll look at is the relationship between sleep and dentistry but there is a huge connection and seeing the right dentist can radically change the quality of your child's sleep. My guest is Dr Meghna Dassani, who, in her Sleep Dentistry practice, is helping her young patients end their interrupted sleep, sleep apnea, and sleep disordered breathing. She and I have the most interesting conversation where we talk about how poor-quality sleep impacts health, behavior and IQ.  Did you know that sleep disorders show up with the same symptoms as ADHD? I had no idea! Asking for a sleep study will help you to see what's really going on. Some things parents can look for as signs your child might have a sleep issue, are: ●     Snoring/audible breathing ●     Messy sleeper ●     Always tired in the morning ●     Bed wetting I hope you find this episode as eye opening as I did! For a free copy of the first chapter of Meghna's book, The Tired Child, you can download it from the Parent Toolbox. www.parent-toolbox.com About Dr. Meghna Dassani Dr. Dassani is passionate about helping children achieve healthy sleep. When I first started this show, I had an idea of who I'd be talking to - creative service providers. So when I found myself talking to a brilliant dentist about her business, I was both surprised and fascinated. This episode with Dr. Meghna is chock-full of all my favorite E words - Empowerment, Empathy, Expectations… and Excellence. If you're feeling like there's something bigger you're called to do, then this one's for you. Listen now! Can't-Miss Moments From This Episode:Empathy: ooey gooey touchy feely BS, or legit superpower? I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count. Dr. Meghna and I reveal how treating clients, teammates, and partners (and hell, everyone around you!) with empathy can help you grow the kind of business that naturally attracts more people… Time for a truth bomb… a healthy business starts with YOU. If you're not taking care of your body, mind, and spirit, it'll bleed into your business and turn everything upside down. Dr. Meghna and I rant about the little changes that add up to a big difference in your health… Spoiler Alert: People are gonna question your path, rain on your parade, and try (and FAIL. *ahem*) to keep you in your lane! But here's the kicker: it's your life and you have to know who you're living it for. Dr. Meghna and I will show you how to muster up the courage to flip ‘em the bird and trust your own instincts… “Get off your ass 'cause we've got lives to save.” Probably one of my favorite guest quotes ever! Part of success is taking your mission seriously, and knowing you can do some serious good. Dr. Meghna and I dig into unburying your “big why” so you can find the fuel to keep going, even when times get tough…  What does putting yourself in a plastic bubble (aka Zorbing) and throwing yourself down a hill have to do with saving lives? Not much, but I guarantee this one will make you smile (and I'll give you double your money back if you disagree)...This one is jam-packed full of advice. Don't miss out - listen now!Meghna's Bio:Dr. Meghna Dassani is passionate about helping adult and pediatric patients with sleep-disordered breathing get the treatment they need to live healthier, happier lives.
