Melissa's journey is marked by a series of transformative experiences that led her to a life of adventure and empowerment. Her story begins with the overcast skies of Ireland, reminiscent of the movie "Gregory's Girl." Melissa returned to the US due to job opportunities and visa challenges in the UK, which opened the door for a career shift and personal growth.  Melissa's involvement with Women Who Explore began as an ambassador and later evolved into co-ownership of the company. Women Who Explore offers adventure travel and a robust community, empowering women through outdoor activities and fostering a sense of independence and camaraderie. The organization hosts various adventures worldwide and maintains a strong social media presence with numerous local chapters facilitating engagement and support. ⁣ In her role, Melissa organizes and hosts women-only trips where dedicated hosts ensure everything runs smoothly, from meals to logistics, allowing guests to fully relax. These trips address common pain points for women, who often act as caretakers and planners. She shared a touching story of a woman who initially struggled with not helping but eventually embraced being cared for. The trips provide emotional support, helping women overcome personal challenges, such as summiting Kilimanjaro or completing the Tour de Mont Blanc. Melissa and her co-founder Lindsay plan these trips based on their travel desires, making the business deeply personal. ⁣ Melissa has traveled to diverse destinations, including New Zealand, Costa Rica, Kilimanjaro, and Croatia, often on sponsored trips. Future trips will be hosted by a solid group of women, offering travel opportunities they might not have had otherwise. One memorable moment was inspiring a woman, who had never created a bucket list due to financial constraints, to explore new destinations like France or Peru.

In this episode, we chat with Melissa Wright, a true advocate for the outdoors and one of the driving forces behind Women Who Explore. Although Melissa's early years in Arizona didn't offer her much access to the great outdoors, her desire to connect with nature and a lack of like-minded adventurers in her small town didn't deter her from venturing out alone. It wasn't until her 30s that Melissa's passion for exploration truly took root, and it has been growing ever since. Her journey led her to an awesome community called Women Who Explore, where she initially became an ambassador. Soon enough, she seized the opportunity to become a co-owner of the empowering organization. Women Who Explore is on a mission to bring together women who share a love for adventure and for our planet. Their members are women thirsty for exploration, and thanks to the vibrant Women Who Explore communities, they are never disappointed. Through Women Who Explore, they discover more than just thrilling adventures; they find confidence, strength, new friends, and most importantly, a deeper connection with themselves. If you've ever wondered why it's okay to be just okay, or have been searching for a new outdoor community, then this one's for you! Alison Van De Pol, is a wife, mom, Human Design Specialist, Holistic Health Coach, Registered Nurse and much more! Above and before all of those though, she is soul surrendering to her Design and helping others do the same.Several years before her and Melissa Wright founded Guided Life By Design, and synchronistically created #SurrenderStory, she was divinely led down a path that included Human Design. Using her nursing and integrative nutrition background, she trained in literally hundreds of tools, techniques, and philosophies, but from the moment she learned about Human Design it resonated to her core.Human Design combines Science + Spirit, directing you to “turn in and tune in” to your unique and perfect Design that is in your energetic DNA.When her personal Human Design chart was presented to her, for the first time, she felt like coming home after being gone a lifetime. It was familiar, yet distant. It lit a fire within her that drove her to start living as her authentic self. Prior to this, she had been conditioned to live otherwise - always looking outside for strategies and resources that were widely accepted by society and appeared to be working for others. This took her far off her path and often made her feel like she wasn't enough. It led her to years of serious physical illness and mental and emotional discomfort. As you can imagine, and perhaps you can relate, not living as your authentic self manifests in all areas of life, which is why she is so incredibly passionate about holistic health. As she surrendered to her Design, magical and miraculous things began to happen. Things that were difficult to explain, but were anything but coincidental. Some of these things have been challenging, but in those times she further surrendered and was further awed.Follow Angel!Podcast link. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-soulful-mind/IG: angelevangerfb: angelevangerBecome Part of Our Facebook Communityhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/soulfulhealingtribeFind out your intuition SUPERPOWER!  Use this link:http://www.angelevanger.com/quizGet access to your FREE 5, 5 minute meditations!http://www.angelevanger.com/meditationsAlison Van de Polhttps://guidedlifebydesign.com/https://www.surrenderstory.com/https://intuitivelifehub.com/https://www.instagram.com/surrenderstory/https://www.facebook.com/groups/611702706209212

Lyn talks to Melissa Wright, a human design specialist, about why we sometimes fall into the pattern of picking the wrong partners and relationships, and what we can do to break the cycle. KEY TAKEAWAYS Even if we are not consciously aware of it, we can often imprint feelings of inadequacy upon ourselves, which can lead us to feeling on some level that we do not deserve real love. Our mind wishes to be the "driver" of the car - to steer and control our thoughts and behaviours completely, so it ingrains less self love, which causes us to overthink and therefore places the mind at the forefront of every decision. It is our mind (from a place of fear) and it's past conditioning, that causes negative repeat patterns when it comes to picking the wrong partners. We must instead listen to our hearts (from a place of love), and to the wisdom of our intuition. It is then that we attract compatible, higher level energy relationships. BEST MOMENTS 'Human design has been the greatest tool that has helped me to be the real me' 'Our mind is trying to trick us and steer us off that path' 'Most of us are not meant to use willpower to achieve our goals' VALUABLE RESOURCES Hearts Entwined Podcast Apple Podcasts (iTunes) Spotify Stitcher     ABOUT THE GUEST Melissa Wright - Human Design Specialist Even though Melissa spent more than 20 years seeking answers, learning every online business strategy available and pursuing many Certifications like her Law of Attraction Coaching Certification and her Reiki Master Teacher Certification, it always felt like the answers she was seeking were always just out of reach… Until she discovered Human Design. Human Design has changed Melissa's life so dramatically that she feels she has no choice but to do her best to share this life changing information with as many people as possible. She was able to leave her 6-figure soul-sucking job, start doing her purpose driven work full-time, finally create deeper, genuine relationships in her life, and (probably most importantly) quiet the inner mean girl inside of her head. Melissa and her business partner Alison have focused on introducing other women who feel like there is something missing in their life to Human Design through their company Guided Life By Design through Individual readings, live events, courses and retreats. Have you ever wanted to get into the outdoors more but been a little intimidated by other groups who do? Or do you find it hard finding groups where everybody is open to new friendships? Women Who Explore is a community dedicated to getting women into the outdoors, and it's ended up creating hundreds of new friendships in the process, all in the past year. Its co-founder, Lindsay MacNevin, is a Canadian former travel writer who joins Bart Campolo on this episode of Humanize Me to talk about her project. It all started with a trip into the mountains with her sister Jenni, who is the other co-founder, and a bad experience with a group of female hikers. Now, women are meeting each other in scores of weekend and week-long getaways, bonding over their love of beautiful places, connecting over campfires and making legitimate, long-lasting friendships. Also on this episode, Women Who Explore brand ambassador Melissa Wright jumps in to talk about her experience with Lindsay's group. The website can be found at WomenWhoExplore.com. For complete details of Morris Bird's 9th Interfaithless Barbecue Beach Party at Bolsa Chica State Beach, California on Saturday, May 19th, see Bart's blog at bartcampolo.org. — Enjoy the podcast? Frankly Speaking About Cancer with the Cancer Support Community

This year, only about 14,500 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with a myeloproliferative neoplasm, MPN, a rare group of blood cancers. Living with a rare cancer, like an MPN, comes with a unique set of challenges. The diagnosis can be hard to understand, and treatment is often “watch-and-wait” or symptom management only. In honor of Blood Cancer Awareness Month in September and MPN Awareness Day on September 11, join us to shine a light on these rare cancers. Guest host Linda House welcomes back to the show Melissa Wright, LMSW, OSW-C, Program Director at Gilda's Club Quad Cities to talk more about how to live well with a rare cancer.
