That is how Trump supporters would be feeling if Harris had won. Each side feared tyranny if the other side won, and neither can imagine how the other side could feel that. What Is Parent Coaching? Professional parent coaching provides psychoeducation and practical strategies. It's directive, goal-oriented, and typically lasts 1-6 months. It focuses on introducing and discussing new parenting strategies, offering support, and devising plans to implement them. Key Benefits of Parent Coaching: Improved family communication. Better parenting strategies and confidence. Solution-focused thinking. Mindset shifts in how to parent tweens or teens. Strengthened parent-child relationships. Who Can Benefit from Parent Coaching? Families facing issues like screen time struggles, communication breakdowns, transitions (e.g., marriage, death, adoption), and behavioral challenges. Parents of children with ADHD, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). Support for parents dealing with adolescent mental health challenges, substance abuse, or co-parenting issues. My Approach to Parent Coaching: Grounded in mindfulness and intentionality. Professional experience as an LCSW for nearly 30 years with knowledge of mental health, child development, and family dynamics. Personal experience growing up in a self-sufficient family in New Hampshire, which shaped my approach to self-determination and family cooperation. Incorporating mindfulness practices to help parents stay present and grounded. Parent Coaching vs. Psychotherapy: Coaching is more focused on the present and future, with the goal of achieving family harmony. Psychotherapy addresses mental health issues and is often focused on healing past traumas. I provide examples of when therapy is necessary and when coaching is a better fit. Family Coaching: Family coaching involves working with both parents and children to create real change. I discuss how family coaching leads to breakthroughs and faster progress than individual sessions. If you're interested in learning more about parent coaching and how it can support your family, click the link to book a: 20-30 minute Parent Reset Consultation Call Let's see if parent or family coaching is the right fit for you! ⭐Got screen time problems at home, get the Tech Reset Agreement here

Practice is Dr. Dave Fearon's way of being. His practice? Irrepressible Teaching. Before, during, and after the 50+ years, he was a professor. His subject? You; and why your practice matters to him, to everyone, and, of course, to you.His medium? Wherever and to whomever digital takes him.Accordingly, his new digital-first book with the late, highly regarded Leadership thinker Peter B. Vaill is titled: Practice as a Way of Being: Peter Vaill's Conjectures on Why Your Practice Matters. His long-running podcast that Dave originated with Peter is called Practice? “Irrepressible” because six years ago, David S. Fearon, Emeritus Professor of Management & Organizational Behavior, Central Connecticut State University, capped off 55 years as a successful Management Educator, practicing leadership in how he taught and how he served colleges and communities as dean and professor.Retired, Dave tried leisure, taking up golf and offering the occasional workshop, but he could not stop being a teacher. So, when the call came from Peter, his own most revered teacher, inviting a chance to draw attention to Practice as a tantalizingly under-taught but universally important question, Dave gave up the leisure (but not the golf). Now Practice is Dave's practice, and it's all about You.Resources Mentioned in This EpisodeBook - On Practice as a Way of Being Website - Enation ResearchPodcast - Practice?Television show - The Bear on HuluTelevision show - Get Back on Disney+Film - In and of Itself on HuluA Quote From This Episode"So imagine now the wonderful journey someone's making - assuming they're continuing to get better, no matter what the conditions, the payoff is your practice. Dr. Suze Wilson, is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at Massey University. She is passionate about all things leadership along with an abiding interest in how we can make organisations both effective for external stakeholders and enjoyable places to work for employees. Her doctoral research examined why and how it has become normalized in recent decades to equate 'leadership' with grandiose expectations of 'transformation', 'vision', and 'charisma'. She argues these ideas, when examined closely, actually create undesirable pressures on leaders, grant them excessive powers, and rely on the problematic assumption that 'followers' are inherently inadequate. She is interested in theorising and practising leadership in ways that are more inclusive and humble.More recently, she's written a short op-ed exploring how conspiratorialism and the so-called infodemic are undermining the good pandemic leadership we had benefitted from in New Zealand and thinking about the wider undermining of legitimate authority and the potential for a shared reality that these dangerous and toxic influences pose and what that might mean for leadership. @christianbradleywest Author, Podcaster, Word Wizard, Eternal Alchemist, Astro Hoe One of Instagram's best, his name is CHRISTIAN BRADLEY WEST. He has 20 years experience doing his thing from Heaven to Hell. Follow "The Country Clairvoyant" and enjoy the ride as you LIVE,LOVE & LAUGH, in no certain order. http://voyageatl.com/interview/conversations-with-christian-bradley-west/ From Christian's website: My Approach and My Methods I apply principles of diversity to my practice. There is no right way to human. Each person is like a crystal with multiple facets working in harmony to express the beauty of the individual. I want to provide a safe place for people to explore their expression and bring it into full maturity. My baseline is an intuitive approach. In addition to my strong intuition, I use numerology, astrology, and cards to support the process of transformative awareness. I also use archetypes, like the inner mother, father, and child, to help certain clients clarify potential layers of trauma and how to bring the pattern of trauma into awareness for healing. You are the author and artist of your life. I want to assist you to rewrite and restructure the primordial calligraphy written in your unconscious to reflect consciousness and grace. How is this done? The intention of every session is to provide a different perspective. Each client can then use this different perspective to move beyond any fears. A session often involves looking at the inner critic and reframing conditioned stories learned as children. This process assists the client in replacing dull, unhealthy thoughts of unworthiness with vibrant, healthy thoughts of value and courage. Each session is as unique as the individual and always involves homework. Depending on which offering you schedule, the journey may look different, but the result is the same: acceleration toward greater presence, awareness, purpose, and wholeness. #ReallyCharliePodcast #ChristianBradleyWest #TheCountryClairvoyant --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/charles-perry/message

welcome to the nonlinear library, where we use text-to-speech software to convert the best writing from the rationalist and ea communities into audio. this is: Collection of good 2012-2017 EA forum posts, published by saulius on the effective altruism forum. I feel that older EA forum posts are not read nearly as much as they should. Hence, I collected the ones that seemed to be the most useful and still relevant today. I recommend going through this list in the same way you would go through the frontpage of this forum: reading the titles and clicking on the ones that seem interesting and relevant to you. Note that you can hover over links to see more details about each post. Also note that many of these posts have lower karma scores than most posts posted nowadays. This is in large part because until September 2018, all votes were worth only one karma point, and before September 2014 there was no karma system at all. Furthermore, the forum readership used to be lower. Hence, I don't advise to pay too much attention to karma when choosing which of these posts to read. Most of these posts had a significantly higher karma than other posts posted around the same time. To create this list, I skimmed through the titles (and sometimes the contents) of all posts posted between 2012 and 2017. I relied on my intuition to decide which posts to include. Undoubtedly, I missed some good ones. Please feel free to point them out in the comments. Also note that in some cases the information in these posts might be outdated, or no longer reflect the opinions of their authors. Two phone calls the same day. Both with the same question: "What if I CAN'T save my marriage?" One had been working at it for awhile. The other hadn't started (and was trying to decide whether to even start). It's a common question that gets asked at 3 different times in the process. Each has a different meaning. All share a fear. That fear can keep you from taking action, talk you into giving up, or serve to inform you. This week, I want to take on the question, "What if I can't save it?", because not every marriage can be saved. (But NONE are saved without action.) Don't let the question trip you up. Understand what's behind it. And listen to my answer to the question. Listen below. RELATED RESOURCES: Can This Marriage Be Saved? Podcast# 2: My Journey as Soccer Coach and My Approaches to handle the different situations with Kids in a Right WayIn this podcast episode, I want to share about soccer, my journey as a soccer coach, and other related experiences. I started coaching a soccer team in my early 20s and the team I got was of little young boys. I love them till now and consider them my best team. Since it's a long time ago, so they all are young men now. But I watched them grow up and even followed them up after I was done coaching them. I follow them through all their life stages including when they got other coaches, when they graduated from middle school and high school, and now when they are getting jobs and they are doing other things. It's been a real pleasure to follow them. But as they were my first coaching team and they were very nice, so I had a lot of pressure to not fail those kids. This pressure and failure things got so worst that I started having nightmares that they came back to me years later and said, "you didn't teach us this when we were little and now we can't get to where we want to be." When my dreams and the internal feeling was getting worst and worst, it was the time when I decided to have the next coaching license. So, I missed one of their tournaments. I got signed up for a coaching class with the United States Soccer Federation. This was my C license, which is a national level. Next year, I got my B license and after a couple of years, I got my A license. All these licensing struggles gave me peace of mind and helped me calm down. But I didn't stop studying. Anywhere I find something, I would study it out whether it is related to player development, the differences between boys and girls, etc.Over the past twenty years, I had the privilege of watching hundreds of parents raise their children. Some raise at high levels and are getting in the national team and playing abroad professionally while the low levels players just wanted to make their high school team. Some kids just wanted to go to college and be really awesome and amazing intramural players. It is fine, as it gave them something to do and it's a good way for them to connect and socialize. I also had the privilege of seeing how the parents would deal with the issues that would naturally come up with raising children, such as getting their first driver's license. To summarize, I had this privilege to watch parents deal with their children from their early years through their teenage years. My Approach to Handle ChildrenFast forward to 20 years later, I have my own children now. I have a 13-year old daughter who doesn't like soccer at all. I have a 10-year old son who loves soccer and I am also blessed with a 3-year old daughter who likes pink and Frozen (Disney Cartoon). Due to my blessed past experience, I have got samples of other parents and how they handle problems. This helps me choose and pick from those samples and attack the situation accordingly. For example, usually as a young soccer team and young soccer parents, the sidelines are nuts and crazy not in a good way, just detrimental to the children. When I go watch my son playing soccer, I sit in the corner and relax. It's actually a break for me as I can sit there and do absolutely nothing other than watching my son have fun. I don't have the emotional ups and downs so much because I don't care. The main reason is that I never had a national team coach ask me if one of my players won or did this amazing thing when they were playing as a team. So, the point I want to narrate is thatI remain relax and let my child enjoy the game. I also don't transfer any of my personal anxiety to my son before his event. Similarly, I try not to transfer my personal anxiety to my daughter for her swim events. I have been able to give them the space they need so that they can grow. Due to my way of handling things, I often find parents come and ask me a bunch of questions. Parents should know simple little tricks and I will share my tricks and tools further in the next episodes.I am grateful to you for joining me today. If you have any questions, let me know and I will give you the answers or get you the answers connected to who you need. I would appreciate it if you give any feedback, comment, or five-star reviews. This month is all about networking. Episode titles include “How Most People Network…and My Approach,” “Places to Network and How to Maximize Them,” and “How Not to Be a Networking Barnacle.” Today I want to address the WHY of networking…why is networking so very important? Here are my top five reasons why networking is so stinkin' important: 1. 75% of the jobs are in the hidden job market, meaning they are not advertised. If you aren't networking, you have zero chance of accessing the largest portion of available jobs. 2. Networking isn't just to get a new job. Networking can get you key assignments within your current employer, increase your promotability, and get you tied into community organizations where you get to interact with a cross-section of people. 3. Networking gives you the opportunity to (subtly) toot your own horn. During a networking meeting, it is common to tell the other person what you've been up to at work. This helps to build your personal brand and become known as the expert in _____. 4. Networking builds your social skills. If you don't love, or aren't great at, talking about yourself or meeting strangers, networking is one of the best ways to get over your aversion and build your skills in this area. You'll get clearer on your personal brand, asking questions to draw out the other person, and making small talk every time you engage in networking. 5. Networking can provide results that extend beyond professional. People make friends, find romantic partners, discover passions and opportunities to express their passions, and generally make their lives fuller by networking. When you go into networking, whether one-on-one or group, I recommend having a goal while also being open to possibilities. Let's talk about the types of networking, as each one requires slightly different skills and offers slightly different advantages. 1. One-on-one networking. This is typically done with someone you already know or have been introduced to. In a future episode, I will talk about the mechanics of networking, but here are the benefits of one-on-one networking: -You have a concentrated period of time to really focus on building a relationship with another person. -Because these meetings are typically scheduled, you have the opportunity to prepare for the meeting and determine exactly what you want to ask the other person to do for you. -It's much easier to follow up with individuals you have networked one-on-one with – to provide them with what you said you would and remind them to provide you with what they said they would. 2. Networking events. These are events where networking is the primary function. People who come to these events may not all be looking for a job, but they are looking to sell their products/services, establish partnerships, and seek referrals. Here are the benefits of attending networking events: -You can speak to as many as a dozen people at one event, making it a very efficient way to network. -You get a large cross-section of people at these events, increasing the likelihood that someone you meet can help you. -You can simultaneously build your LinkedIn network by connecting with everyone you meet at these events on LinkedIn. 3. Events where networking is possible. While not specifically for the purpose of networking, these events provide you with the possibility of networking. Think professional development meetings and community service organizations. The benefits of attending these events are the same as attending networking events, with a possible added benefit: -If you are engaged in working alongside other professionals, they have the opportunity to see you “in action,” and be impressed by your work ethic and results.
