Life throws us all in different directions, sometimes we don't know what to expect. Everyone is called to do something, we all are striving to achieve great things. Join us on this episode of Thriving With Chiropractic, as Dr. Neil Cohen and Dr. Chris Mosier dive into what called them to chiropractic care and why they are so passionate about your health.
Healing Your Body with Chiropractic Care Everyone deserves to live a healthy life where they can function at their full potential. Why is it though that so many of us live with health issues and don't do anything about it until it's too late? In today's episode of The MaxLiving Podcast, guest host and MaxLiving Dr. Marc Surprenant and Dr. Neil Cohen of Sherman College of Chiropractic, discuss healing your body with chiropractic care. When it comes to the functioning of the body, it's important to know that it's never stagnant at 100% - it's always fluctuating and moving. One way to maintain as close to full function as possible is to prioritize the health of your spine and nervous system through chiropractic care. The nervous system is the master controller of the body, meaning it controls the functioning of all of the body's systems, organs, etc. If there's interference in the nervous system, the body won't function or heal properly, causing symptoms and disease to occur. Dr. Neil Cohen explains it best, “health isn't how you feel… it's how you heal.” Although you may feel fine, there could be interference in your body that will not only restrict your ability to function and heal, but also hold you back from being the best you can be. Take responsibility for your health with chiropractic care. Through the use of x-rays, we can pinpoint the interference in your body and perform specific chiropractic adjustments to remove it, allowing you to heal and function properly. If you know someone struggling with a health issue, share this episode with them to give insight on how chiropractic can help them feel their best. Available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more! How do you transform ordinary stuff into meaningful things, even beautiful things? How you make things that don't yet exist, something original rather than a copy? That's the topic of this conversation with New York-based industrial designer, Neil Cohen. |"Some of what I do in my work is making something that starts out one way," he says, "And then when you do something to it, it forms into something else or reveals something else." A film that was thought to be lost to the ages that is finally seeing the light of day is Chief Zabu. A comedy that was inspired by our current incumbent 30 years prior to him revealing political aspirations. Filmmakers Zach Norman (who plays Sammy in Chief Zabu) and writer/producer/director Neil Cohen spoke to me the other day on the significance of the film, how dirty and underhanded politics has always been and that the one honest, altruistic person in that field either has to be corrupted or driven out. Chief Zabu features Marianna Hill, Allen Garfield, and Allan Arbus along with a whole host of other amazing actors, some of which have passed on. I had the pleasure of speaking with Norman and Cohen on not only how they saved the film from complete deterioration, but the restoration process, which was almost an impossible task, the cast and how in this instance, art definitely influenced life. We had so much fun in discussing the film that was dragged the publicist Monica in on the conversation, which was just too good to cut out. I would reveal Monica's last name, but I think she wants to retain a little bit of anonymity. Chief Zabu is available now on VOD and hits the nail on the proverbial head a little too hard in their portrayal of dirty politics in a satirical manner that will have you laughing as you keep from crying how accurate they were in that spectrum.
Neil Cohen is a playwright, television and film writer, illustrator, producer and director who has been working in the industry for over 30 years. Neil co-wrote and co-directed with Zack Norman the once-lost now-found cult comedy film Chief Zabu, which The Hollywood Reporter calls “A Comic Time Capsule with a Timeless Punch.” He wrote and illustrated the children's book American Gargoyles which the NY Times says is ‘Zany, Madcap, Raucous, Mischievous' and which is now being developed as an animated Christmas Special. His non-fiction writing has appeared in Los Angeles Magazine, BUZZ, Playboy, and New Millennium, and he recently produced Myriah Marquez' award-winning short documentary “The Diary of Being Uncomfortably Comfortable." It was never pointed out to Neil that he had all the tell-tale signs of ADD; not until he was 42 years old and recently separated from his then-wife. A good friend sent him an article on Adult ADHD/ADD. He soon after listened to my bookon a drive to Detroit. The lightbulb switched on and he found himself overwhelmed by his recent self-discoveries. It took him a couple of years, (one on Concerta), to sort things out and fully understand that he wasn't “broken” or alone. He soon-there-after found a community of dog trainers, discovered the joy that comes from teaching & training dogs, (and their owners), and he committed to owning a training franchise. Has been working in and growing the "Dog space" ever since! His prior pursuits and careers have been: CEO, Marketing Consultant, Chimney Sweep, a few rides during the dot-com boom, Circus Trainer & Performer, scuba diver, competitive unicyclist, world traveler, maintaining his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and being a stay-at-home Dad! It's a lot. We talk about his journey, his love of dogs and how he's found a happy home. Enjoy!
