Author's Note: This podcast was recorded after Universal Music Group (UMG) removed its entire catalog from TikTok. Also, the song, “One More Song (demo)” was featured in the film ROCKBOTTOM, which is now on Prime Video NOT Netflix. It is a pleasure to welcome pop/R&B band ICYDAY to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.ICYDAY is made up of Sloane Morgan Siegel, David Bloom, and guitarist-pianist Isaac Cohen. Sloane portrayed the titular characters in Dwight in Shining Armor and Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street and appeared in Chartered, Game Shakers, The Goldbergs, and NCIS. Sloane voiced Robin (Tim Drake) in the Gotham Knights video game. David portrayed Kevin in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, Stanley Zielinski in Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street, Josh in American Born Chinese, and Teenage Al in Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. He also appeared in CSI: NY, Modern Family, The Goldbergs, and Arrow. Sloane and David first met on the set of The Goldbergs years ago and have known each other since they were 13. Sloane and David teamed up with Isaac to pursue this musical passion project. On January 26, the trio released their debut single, “Open Up” was released. The catchy, laidback single demonstrates the group's serious musical talent for crafting melody, blending elements of jazz, pop, indie, and funk into a commercial sound you can envision in the background of a film or your favorite coffee shop. “Open Shop” is an honest song about wanting to know somebody better, the ebbs and flows of a relationship, with tasteful R&B electric guitar and neo-soul sound. ICYDAY dropped their second single, a heartbreak love song called “Love Isn't Fair,” on February 15, followed by their third song, “One More Song,” on March 8. In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, ICYDAY shared their origin story, the stories behind their songs, and their take on using TikTok to build their fanbase. In this episode of A Conversation With (Podcast), I sat down with Keena Ferguson, a multi-talented actress, dancer, writer, and producer who has been in the business for 15 years. One of many things we discussed was the power of manifesting and how to use it to get what you want in life. Keena shares her personal experiences with manifesting and advice on how to change your mindset and start manifesting the things you want in life. ====================== Keena Ferguson BIO: Keena Ferguson is known for her bright warm smile, strong presence and agility as an actress. She hails from Jefferson City, MO the “Show Me State” and she was most definitely born to be in “Show Biz”. A show off since birth, a dancer since the age of two and a stage actress at the tender age of 6, Keena was destined for a life in the arts. Graduating from The Ohio State Uni- versity with a BA in dance she immediately moved to LaLa land and within months of her move, Keena landed a co-hosting gig for the BET series The Way We Do It opposite comedian Ricky Smiley. Shortly after that show aired she shot an international Coca-Cola campaign with Gram- my winning artists, Common and Mýa. Since then Keena can be seen on many popular com- mercials like Home Depot, Bud Light and Android to name a few. Keeping with her artistic versatility Keena first appeared dancing alongside Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) in the action-comedy blockbuster The Rundown. From there she danced with many notable artists like Kelly Rowland, Marc Anthony, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and many others. Keena also had the honor to perform on stage at the Lady of Soul Awards and Latin Grammy Awards. The next stages she performed on took her around the country as one of the leads in the Will Smith produced play The Bachelorette Party. Once that tour came to a close, with a quick click of your remote you could see Keena on TV screens in hit shows like Two in a Half Men, Boston Legal and Victorious. One of her favorite projects was being featured on Steven Spielberg's On the Lot where she was praised for her “natural and authentic talent.” Always a fan of great storytelling and being able to immerse oneself into a character, Keena has thoroughly enjoyed playing a variety of complex film roles including: an American Muslim woman in the thriller Red Line, a conflicted under appreciated sister in the award winning film Daughter of Fortune, a commanding high-end art thief in the action film Forever No More, writ- ten by Rosewood's executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll. Keena is also the writer, producer and star of the short film Kai where she plays a trendy woman with a strange addiction. Kai went on to screen in more than 35 film festivals internationally and was picked up for television distri- bution. Those multifaceted roles prepared Keena for her most challenging, but most accom- plished feeling as an actress; when she performed her one woman show Keena UnBranded. Playing over 10 different characters intertwining dance and live music, Keena UnBranded con- firmed to Keena (and her audiences) that the power of honest artistry was a way to not only en- tertain, but also inspire. Keena's latest project is the theatrically released film American Hero where she played Doreen opposite Stephen Dorff as his frustrated no-nonsense ex-wife and mother to their son. She also stars as the concerned mother in the new NBC show Game of Silence, the disciplined and fun volleyball coach on Amazon's Gortimer Gibbons Life on Normal Street and the sassy friend in the movie Trew Calling. Whether it's acting, dancing, producing or any of Keena's other talents, you can be sure that this Show Me State native will definitely Show up and Show out! Charismatic and multi-talented television and film actor, Sloane Siegel (Amazon's Emmy-nominated "Gortimer Gibbons Life on Normal Street") returns to television yet again, leading as "Dwight," opposite Caitlin Carmichael (LIFE ITSELF) and Joel McCrary (AMERICAN BEAUTY) in the third season of "Dwight in Shining Armor," (Paramount & BYUtv premiered on March 15th) the hilarious, campy family adventure-comedy. With cities and states going on self and government imposed quarantines and social distancing instructions, Sloane, who suffers with anxiety, is available to discuss his tips and what's keeping him feeling mentally and physically fit during this tough time for so many people and help other teens/young adults going through the same. Recently picked up for seasons 3 & 4, Sloane plays "Dwight," a modem, 21st century teen, while taking photographs in the forest, accidentally falls face-first into an ancient, underground chamber, and lands on 'Gretta' (Carmichael) a medieval sleeping princess, planting a kiss on her and waking up not only her and her loyal court magician, 'Baldric' (McCrary), but all of the medieval villains that have been asleep like her for the past 1000 years. Together, the trio must defeat her hordes of enemies. Born in Washington, DC and raised on a Rescue Farm in West Virginia, Sloane began his career dancing hip hop, but made the transition to acting at age eight after a chance casting call. At 10, he came to Hollywood to pursue his dreams and just 2 short years later, Sloane booked his best-known role as "Gortimer" in AMAZON's award-winning "Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street". He has been awarded the Best Actor Award as the Lead in a TV Series by the Young Artists Awards 3 years in a row, has earned the Best Leading Young Actor in TV Award from the Young Entertainer Awards, and has won 16 awards through the film festival circuit. Audiences may also recognize Sloane from dozens of appearances on other top shows including CBS' "Pure Genius," & "Partners," ABC's "Modern Family," and NICKELODEON's "Big Time Rush." When he's not booking his next leading role, Sloane spends his free time hiking, going to escape rooms, and gaming, playing everything from classics like Dungeons and Dragon to contemporary video games. He also enjoys writing, having even helped write one of the episodes of "Dwight in Shining Armor," and is currently working on his first fiction novel. Immensely passionate about the environment, animals, children, and veterans in need, Sloane uses the remainder of his time helping in any way he can. Society Talks welcomes Sloane Siegel! You may remember Luke Matheny from the 2011 Academy Awards, when he won for Best Live Action Short and said: "Uh, I should've gotten a haircut." Since then, Luke's gone on to direct ten episodes of Marc Maron's Maron and to be the showrunner of Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street. Today's session is a surprisingly emotional one: we cover the night of the Oscars, why he thinks cheesesteaks are the most delicious of all meals, his relationship to authority, rushing his son to the emergency room after giving him peanut butter. We also talk about why you need rules before you can improvise (in both burgers and filmmaking), his love of pancakes as a kid, why he smiles big when he talks about sweet food, his grandmother's Pennsylvania Dutch Pot Pie, and learning that the person who he thought was his grandfather wasn't really his grandfather. "You have to wait in line for your turn and if you leave it, you could have been the next one and miss your turn. Stay in line, stay hard working, motivated, patient and stay passionate" Chandler Kinney is an actress, known for the role as Catherine Dillman in Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street (2014), Chantel in Battlefield America (2012), Mirabelle in Haunted Hathaways and currently as Riana Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon. She has graced the screens in this latter role, playing the teen daughter of one of the show's 2 parotagonists Roger Murtaugh. She brings a great element to the show and is a perfect addition in the Murtaugh family and the Lethal Weapon family as a whole. She's great on social media responding and talking with fans so sit back, watch or listen, as I chat and laugh with Chandler and answer fan questions. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Welcome to episode number 6 which is all about intentional living with Kimberly Amici.
