If you're looking for the most empowering motherhood advice… look no further! In this episode, Camille welcomes Natalie Monson, creator of the food blog, Super Healthy Kids, and CEO of Prepear, an app that helps you organize your recipes, plan your meals and get your groceries fast. Natalie is a Registered Dietician, beginning her career in the medical field working with people suffering from chronic illness. Seeing firsthand how nutrition and fitness can play a significant role in preventing disease and improving quality of life, she created Super Healthy Kids and has been growing it over the past decade while raising her four kids. Natalie and her husband have also grown Prepear to become a 7-figure business while learning how to be great business partners along the way.Listen in to learn the best lessons from having a business partner, how to monetize a blog and everything you need to know about how her app, Prepear, works. Plus, Natalie shares her top pieces of advice for moms who want to pursue entrepreneurship or full-time motherhood.“Sometimes I think we get stuck with the idea that if I create a product or I create a business, I have to stick with this forever and I think that is faulty thinking. The idea that you have right now or the product that you have as an idea right now could be the launching point to help you discover your interests and develop your other priorities later. There's a lot of freedom in recognizing that.”- Natalie MonsonResources: Download the Prepear app: www.prepear.com Crucial Conversations: www.goodreads.com/book/show/15014.Crucial_Conversations Create goals and stick with them with Qube Money: www.qubemoney.com/camille Interested in becoming a virtual assistant? Damas y caballeros, bienvenidos a Filispín. IN THIS EPISODE: Eating food and the events that surround eating food can be very emotional. As a child, my mom cooked warm meals for me all the time. Of course it tastes great and feels great to eat, but I see now more than ever how satisfying it is for the parent to know that their child is eating a nourishing, satisfying meal. When my family decided to adopt a plant-based lifestyle, it was a tough transition for both sides of our extended family. It seemed to happen in phases. First came questions of clarity on what we were not “allowed” to eat. Then came the question of why, which was shortly followed by frustration, anger, sadness, and a bunch of other emotions. Did this mean that family dinners at our house were cancelled? How would we eat out at a restaurant together? Can our family give our kids a cookie if they want it? What about Grandma’s special treat jar? These and many other questions are all valid and must be addressed one by one with your family. TUNE IN: Today’s Liz's Healthy Table is all about tips and tricks for eating healthy when you’re on a budget. My guest is Lisa Leake, author of the new book, 100 Days of Real Food on a Budget. Lisa is a mom, founder of 100 Days of Real Food, and she’s here with practical advice for cutting processed foods out of your diet and cooking up tasty recipes without breaking the bank. You'll hear Lisa’s story about her family’s diet makeover ... and her real world secrets for eating well when budgets are tight. Together, we'll share a few recipes from Lisa’s new book including, My Favorite Summer Salad, Zucchini Egg Scramble, and Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bites. What you’ll hear in this episode: 100 Days of Real Food: The backstory! The subjectivity of the terms, “clean eating” and “real food,” which Lisa defines as foods with five or fewer whole ingredients. Lisa wrote the cookbook, in part, to combat the belief that ...“it’s too expensive to eat a healthy diet!” and she stuck with a budget of $125/weekly for a family of four. Some of Lisa’s top tips for eating real food on a budget: Plan ahead with a menu Don’t toss leftovers, but be creative with them Understand expiration dates Utilize inexpensive foods and staples Identify your “nice to haves” vs. your “need to haves” A few favorites from the cookbook: Portobello Tartine, Chicken Burrito Bowls, and a terrific tomato/mozzarella salad. How she priced out the meals for the new cookbook Lisa’s meal plans available on her website. Prepear. My interview with Super Healthy Kids. We gave them a shoutout on the show. Using affordable eggs as a staple for your family. Don't toss those yolks! The whole egg is nutritious. Lisa’s Oatmeal Cookie Energy Bites: a delicious blend of oats, peanut butter, raisins, maple syrup, and cinnamon. An important tip from Lisa: To manage portions, stop eating when you feel full! Find out where Lisa gets her recipe inspiration. And get my recipe for Parmesan Fish Sticks. Lisa’s biggest aha moment was when she added up meal plan costs and realized the budget could stay around $100/week for a family of four. What’s next for Lisa? IN THIS EPISODE: At his core, Dr. Joel Kahn believes that plant-based nutrition is the most powerful source of preventative medicine on the planet. Having practiced traditional cardiology since 1983, it was only after his own commitment to a plant based vegan diet that he truly began to delve into the realm of non-traditional diagnostic tools, prevention tactics and nutrition-based recovery protocols. These ideologies led him to change his approach and focus on being a holistic cardiologist. He passionately lectures throughout the country about the health benefits of a plant-based anti-aging diet inspiring a new generation of thought leaders to think scientifically and critically about the body’s ability to heal itself through proper nutrition. One of the world’s top cardiologists, Dr. Joel Kahn has treated thousands of acute heart attacks during his career. He’d like all that to stop. He’d like to prevent ALL future heart attacks by breaking through to the public to educate and inspire a new holistic lifestyle. LOOKING FOR AWESOME PLANT-BASED MEAL PLANS?
