This week- the first films from a pair of visionary directors. John Singleton wrote and directed a film that would serve as the blueprint for a whole genre the 30 years since its release. Filled with amazingly naturalistic performances, assured direction, and made with an honesty that is still rare in studio films. Boyz n the Hood set a lasting mark on film. Melina Matsoukas created some of the best music videos the medium has ever offered. After years working in that area, she made her feature debut with Queen & Slim. A beautifully acted, amazingly filmed, and perfectly scored story of a couple who are forced to go on the run after accidentally killing a cop. It ranks with the best of the decade and is easily the best film of 2019. All that and Craig ghosts, Tyler might have gotten a little too excited, Dave overflows with love, and Kevin readiest himself for a showdown in the Punderdome. Welcome to Pun Intended Podcast! We are a group of 30-somethings (and Zoe), currently in Flagstaff, AZ, who enjoy creative genius, puns, and wordplay exploration. In our second episode, we begin with a short recap (and subsequent overshare) about our Mother's Days. We then pick up with what we left off last time and learn about some particularly meaningful and witty song lyrics. Nick and Peter then debut several new word games, including 'Enter the Punderdome,' 'Balls Deep,' and 'Synonym Rolls.'As is the tradition in each episode, we end with 'Another Pun Bites the Dust,' where we get much-needed support and validation from each other about puns that have recently fallen flat. Especially, Peter, he seems to need a lot.Enjoy!Find all of our episodes on our website: PunIntendedPodcast.com.
Welcome (back) to episode #83 of The Party Gamecast featuring the Party Game Cast! On this episode, Bruce is joined by Rocki, Mike, Bryan, Marty, and Brian to review an older game called Ad Liners, eat some things that couldn't be easily translated into English, and introduce our new segment in which we "live" play a game for your listening pleasure. WHAT THE FOOD On What the Food we eat some fried sweet potatoes and dried seafood snacks. And that is certainly a description of some Asian things that we ate. AD LINERS The gang takes a look at a game from the 80s from Pressman games that may be the first "chooser-type" game (for all we know). PUNDERDOME In our first venture into "live" play, we explore what it would be like if you played board games with your uncle who can't stop making groan-worthy puns at the holiday table. You can treat yourself to their lovely and not-at-all-painful YouTube ad here: https://youtu.be/IpX83ajb344 As a note, we would like to thank all of our listeners who have stuck with us through the dry years. We've had folks talk to us at Cons and such and ask when we were releasing a new episode pretty regularly, and we've disappointed them for a long time. We missed you more than you've missed us.
It's the Punderdome, a pun filled battle to the death. Two men enter, one man leaves... followed by the other a little while later! When the Cheap Chaps play a board game based on a New York comedy night, their comedy skills are put to the test and left sorely lacking! Before all that madness, there is a classic Price of Shite with one particularly angering toy discovery, Paul erupts into the most prolonged and pointless piece of toilet humour in the show's history and we get a little trippy with a visit to Silverman's Platter. The show just got silly! And if you like us, why not support us: www.patreon.com/cheapshow Share & Enjoy. Episode 217 of Punwatch, with special guest Jerzy Gwiazdowski and not enough in-depth ice hockey knowledge. You probably already know Jerzy Gwiazdowski. You can also read about his punning in a new book called Away With Words by Joe Berkowitz. We’ll also be appearing on an upcoming episode of Punk Assed, so keep an ear out for that. Punsters: Jerzy Gwiazdowski, Harry Brimage, David Shaw, Alex Malone Host: Andrew Cherry
