Kasia wears many hats: a Mountain Leader, Rock-Climbing Instructor, and an aspiring alpinist. But above all, she's a lover of adventure. Her story began in 2008 when she left Poland in search of a better life. Little did she know, this journey would lead her to incredible heights—both literally and metaphorically. Life in a new country wasn't easy. Kasia had to work hard, raise a child alone, and worry about making ends meet. But through it all, her passion for the mountains burned bright. Despite the demands of her daily life, Kasia couldn't ignore the call of the wild. So, she took a leap of faith. She left behind the security of her job to pursue her love for climbing full-time. Her greatest adventures awaited in the Himalayas, where she tackled peaks that few had ever dared to climb. But for Kasia, the thrill of exploration doesn't end there. Her dream is to keep discovering new corners of the world, to seek out untouched landscapes and experience the beauty of the unknown. *** Don't miss out on the latest episodes of the Tough Girl Podcast, released every Tuesday at 7am UK time! Jackie Parsons was born and raised in England. SheI studied languages from an early age and developed a passion for Latin cultures. She speaks French, Spanish, and fluent Italian. Jackie has led tours in Europe since 1992, specializing in walking tours in Italy since 2007 Her first degree in Spanish took her to the mountains of Mexico and to the South American Andes, where she took part in a Raleigh International expedition to Chile. Her enthusiasm for Italy developed alongside my love of its art, history, culture, food, wine, and people. She has also studied Italian art and culture with the Open University. As a Teacher of Modern Languages in the UK, she was a fully qualified expedition leader for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Jackie and her husband own and operate Hedonistic Hiking which are group walking tours led in Australia and Italy!   Jackie joins us today from Italy and their home in Tuscany where it's been their base for the last three months!  This is where they live while they are running their Italian Tours.   We chat about how she started Hedonistic Hiking Tours and her inspiration started at a very young age with her love for languages.  She had a very inspirational teacher that encouraged her students to go one step further and to look for the adventure! Don't be afraid of where you are and what you want to do in life. Not wanting to do what was “expected of her”, Jackie focused on her passion for traveling and shared how that journey evolved into what it looks like today.  Hedonistic Hiking Tours gives Jackie and her husband the opportunity to explore the things she loves the most:  Sharing her love of food, wine, and walking!  Sounds good to me!  She enjoys sharing what she loves about Italy and seeing the joy on their faces when they are on their experience!  Jackie shares with us the different levels of intensity in their walking tours and there is something available for anyone's physical ability.  They meet you in your comfort zone or you can push yourself with something a bit more challenging.  On the lower level hikes, there is a support vehicle so if you are feeling that after lunch you would like to return to your hotel to relax by the pool you have that option! The tours are designed for the older generations which helps a lot to manage your expectations! We may not be elite athletes but we are looking for a fun and memorable tour experience!  For Jackie one of the most rewarding aspects of her job is seeing each day the increased confidence in their faces and the joy in their face!  I ask Jackie to share her favorite walking tour and she immediately says that it's the one she is currently on at that moment! However, she does come around and share one of her favorite tours in Italy! You'll need to tune in to hear her describe this tour as it sounds amazing and dont want to give it away! Jackie shares about what she's learned about herself through this process and how starting their business they took a risk and stepped out of their comfort zone. They let the business evolve without a 20-page business plan. They did have focus and a direction but they trusted that things were going to progress as they should.  She shares that You don't know what you can achieve until you do it!  Don't get caught up in the weeds and spend your life in the planning process! Start with one foot in front of the other.   Maybe 2022 or 2023 might be the year for you to do some exploration in Italy or Australia?  Check it out!   Resources and Links Connect with Jackie Parsons Connect with Deborah Voll Take The Midlife Quiz Passion and Purpose Digital Workbook Book Your Spot for the Free 60 minute Clarity Session here

Stand Out QuotesPeople are sold a false god of money, opportunity, or progression and some people achieve wealth and power but then realize that doesn’t bring me fulfillment.Life always throws adversity at you.  The challenge is how you adapt to that.Ninety percent of our health has to do with the systems within which we are living, not something inside of us. Biography: Dr. Charlie Easmon is a Primary Care Physician specializing in Travel Medicine, Mental and Occupational Health. He trained at St George's Hospital Medical School in South London and performed his medical elective period in Ghana. Since then he has worked with a number of international medical organizations and charities including Merlin, Raleigh International and Save the Children in Rwanda, and ECHO in Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.Working under appointment for the Foreign Office, Charlie has operated across Africa and in countries such as Egypt, Israel, Tunisia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines. He has been actively involved in a number of different types of medical aid emergencies including medical evacuations and following these high-level international experiences Charlie has some of the highest levels of expertise in travel medicine and public health. However, Charlie’s deep interest is in mental and occupational health in the corporate setting, and particularly within high stress arenas. He has wide ranging experiences into the consequences of staff working in varying conditions. He is concerned about the aspect of late referrals and how the all-too-often lack of appropriate mental health support resources can impact on the well being of his patients.Find more out about Dr. Easmon here:https://www.lstmed.ac.uk/charlie-easmonhttps://www.totalhealth.co.uk/clinical-experts/dr-charlie-easmonAnd See Dr. Easmon's TEDx Talk here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INTlCAQJaro Podcast Notes:Dr. Easmon joins me as he makes his way home from his busy medical practice. He says that ”These days people don’t come in for physical injury any more but because they have had their head caved in mentally.  What is the point of human evolution if the workplace has become a stress pen for all of us?”The western world has gotten many things wrong in their march for technological supremacy.  His clients have forgotten to examine the quality of their life, joy, and peace. And our mental health and physical health are suffering because of how our world is set up.  You can treat the problems but Dr. Easmon also says we need to change the systems that are making us sick.Ninety percent of our health has to do with the system within which we are living, not some problem inside of us but because the market rules mentality is what drives how we live.  We are not creating health-promoting systems that would make us get well evolutionary.Dr. Easmon shares his own experience of discrimination and how discrimination stress is linked to things like high blood pressure. He is fond of the work of the Anne Frank Foundation.  They send people into schools to talk about discrimination and strongly believes a history of prejudice should be taught in every school curriculum and teach it throughout history.  And dealing with the rise of the far right. These groups thrive in vacuums of ignorance, but these groups directly and negatively impact our health.Social innovation is not communist it is simply a way to create cooperation to create a society that is based on something other than greed.  Not all mindsets can be changed so Dr. Easmon recommends we are thoughtful in where we put our energies. For him, he has partnered with George Kinder and the Golden Civilization Project.  George will be on our podcast very soon.We hope you enjoyed this dialogue with Dr. Easmon.  As Sidewalk Talk has doubled in size since February of 2019 to today, we need 80 more folks to invest monthly to keep us providing free listening on sidewalks and this podcast in 2020.

Topic: Who changes the change? Are we in a radical new era of thinking about organisations, or is it plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose? Are we any better now at managing organisations - and managing change and transformation - than we were forty years ago? Or should we just stop stuffing it up? The boys chew the fat...   Hosts: Joseph Paris, Founder of the OpEx Society & The XONITEK Group of Companies Benjamin Taylor,  Managing Partner of RedQuadrant. Guests: Ollie Mack - Change & Transformation, Dennis Vergne - RedQuadrant. [caption id="attachment_175" align="alignnone" width="200"] Ollie Mack[/caption]   About Ollie: An expert coach and facilitator, Ollie has been working in organisational development since University where he rose to the top of student organisation AIESEC as International President based in Brussels. After a number of years working at Raleigh International heading up their Youth At Risk team (and becoming a key member of the board) Oliver moved to Common Purpose where he quickly moved through the ranks to Managing Director of their Customised Business. [caption id="attachment_191" align="alignnone" width="200"] Dennis Vergne[/caption]     About Dennis: Dennis Vergne is a founding partner at RedQuadrant. Based on his experience, research, programme design and delivery, he is a recognised organisational change expert. Dennis has a passion for enabling transformational change that sticks, turning ideas into effective practice and behaviours. He holds an MSc in this field (Oxford – distinction) and belongs to an international network of reflective change practitioners – www.thechangeleaders.com. Although he is originally from Holland, since 2004 most of his work has been within the British public sector. Before this, he co-led a brave but failing effort to revolutionise childcare in Europe – by a setting up a company that would use and could afford the best children’s early years’ development and education practices. His experience also includes (before 2002) strategy and change work for a rather diverse (read: odd) variety of clients such as Belgium Government, Norsk Hydro, Motorola, Novartis and Lloyds TSB.
