The government is proposing the repeal of several speed limit changes introduced across the country under the previous government since 2020. Among these changes include the expansion of school zone speed limits to cover the full day. These changes have been criticised for their potential risk to particularly children and other young people. The Emissions Trading Scheme is a program introduced in Aotearoa to reduce emissions in line with global standards. The program requires emitters to log and report their emissions, and limits the quantity of emissions. Emitters can sell or buy emissions units from others to allow them to emit more or less. By removing agricultural emissions, farmers would no longer be required to adhere to these requirements. In our weekly catchup with the National party, Wire host Castor spoke to MP Suze Redmayne about the speed limit changes and removal of agriculture from the ETS. Particularly, he touched on the speed limit risks to children and how the government will restrict farmers' emissions without the ETS covering them.

It's one of the most against-type, chilling performances the actor has ever done. Eddie Redmayne is an Oscar, Tony, SAG, and Olivier Award winner because he puts in the work. Whether it's a “Cabaret” revival, the massive “Fantastic Beasts” franchise, or quiet true crime character studies like “The Good Nurse,” the actor always finds his character in the preparation. “The more you can go and just gain insight into what [the role] is, the more ideas you can come with on the day,” he says. “Whether it's props or costume, I try to get ahead of all that. So there's always something surprising on the day. You only have such a limited period on camera to find ideas, so it's good to have some sort of runway.” On this episode on In the Envelope: The Actor's Podcast, Redmayne explains what he learned from the major roles in his career, including blockbusters like “Jupiter Ascending” and his subtler turns in “The Theory of Everything” and “The Danish Girl.” --- Backstage has been the #1 resource for actors and talent-seekers for 60 years. Well, we are almost at the end of a whole SEASON of Scene In Fifteen, but not yet! Two more episodes, but for now, if you are feeling crappy, we have The Good Nurse! A brand spankin new offering supplied by Netflix, and given THE treatment. Sleep It or Keep IT, ya gotta peep it. Who keeps writing these golden openings? lol. Who cares, it's Scene In Fifteen.
In this weeks episode of the world's-fastest-movie-review podcast Jackson and Mike review two new films!!! First ‘TAR' Renowned musician Lydia Tár is days away from recording the symphony that will elevate her career. Starring Cate Blanchett, Noemie Merlant, Julian Gloverand Mark Strong. Then a quick review of ‘THE GOOD NURSE' A Nurse is shocked when one of her colleagues is found responsible for the murder of dozens of patients over a period of sixteen years without being charged. Starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne.
Based on the book by Charles Graeber, The Good Nurse tells the story of Amy Loughren (Jessica Chastain), a compassionate nurse who begins to grow suspicious that her colleague Charlie Cullen (Eddie Redmayne) is responsible for a series of mysterious patient deaths. Over the past two months, Krista sat down separately with director Tobias Lindholm, Chastain, and Redmayne to discuss their experiences making the film. Today, we're weaving together those conversations to get a glimpse inside the incredible story and tireless work that fueled its creation.
The Good Nurse is a sombre, serious and affecting drama based on the story of Charles Cullen, one of the most notorious serial killer cases in American history, with superb performances from Eddie Redmayne as Cullen, who abused his position as a nurse to kill patients, and Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren, a fellow nurse and friend who helped the police apprehend Cullen and put a stop to a spree that had lasted for more than a decade and, it is believed, accounted for hundreds of victims. It was also Empire's gala presentation at this year's BFI London Film Festival, and in our latest Empire Podcast special, Chris Hewitt sits down on Zoom with Chastain and Redmayne, director Tobias Lindholm and writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns, for chats about the movie, its dark subject matter, its scathing criticism of the American healthcare system, and much, much more. Enjoy.
Eddie Redmayne always knew he wanted a life on stage so he began acting lessons at age 10. By his early 20s, London theater had recognized him as an Outstanding Newcomer to the West End. Soon he made his way to Broadway and Hollywood. Now, the 40-year-old Redmayne is starring in the chilling Netflix crime drama The Good Nurse with Jessica Chastain, based on a little known, horrific, true story. In this week's "Sunday Sitdown," Willie Geist got together with the actor in New York.
Today we're joined by Oscar-winning actor, Eddie Redmayne! We discuss how he embodied serial killer Charles Cullen in The Good Nurse (8:12), playing opposite Jessica Chastain (9:35), and the research that shaped his commanding performance (15:11). Then, to understand his present as a performer, we return to the past: an early theatre production with director Sam Mendes (19:12), his big break starring in Twelfth Night at the Globe (22:59), and learning Shakespeare on the job with actor Mark Rylance (25:26). On the back-half, we walk through Redmayne's transition from stage to screen (28:41), a formative memory on set with Scarlett Johansson (31:22), how The Theory of Everything changed his course (33:45), returning to the theatre as the Emcee in Cabaret (41:44), rediscovering a sense of play in a physical theatre class (47:04), and the kind of work he hopes to make in the years to come (49:13).See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Andrew Redmayne has etched his name into Australian sporting history as the Socceroos qualified for this year's World Cup with a penalty shootout win over Peru in Qatar.
