I found my passion for working with people in conflict from my own deep experience with conflict. Coming out of a home that was an emotional "Armeggeddon", growing up in a neighborhood where at first I was a target, I spent years learning about conflict, as I got my MSW, sought controlled conflict through martial arts, studied and practiced mediation and became a certified coach. The breakthrough was the realization that conflict is vital, that out of conflict comes creativity. When we set the tone for the conflict and make it safe to explore, new understanding emerges and with new understanding we create. The best moments working with clients struggling with conflict are when they get it, that they don't have to struggle, they can set the pace, they can determine when where and how they are going to engage. It starts inside, identifying the parts of us that are wildly aggressively reacting in ways we cant seem to control and bringing those triggers under reign, From there the possibilities are endless. Whether it be a couple, an individual getting divorced or recurring conflict in a corporate setting, the dynamic is always the same. Working in their field has led me to develop workshops on intimacy which is all about managing dynamics that are destructive to trust and caring. When we learn to manage what we are putting out in a relationship and make it safer for our partner, the easier it is to develop intimacy which is so grounded in safety. Building child resilience in the face of traumatic experiences is another passion and I have several workshops and many clients who have focused on this with me, looking to end the pattern of broken relationships in their family. A lot of marriages have fallen apart, leading to separation and divorce. Divorce is always tough. It dramatically affects everyone in the family, especially the children. Co-parenting doesn't end when the divorce ends, it just begins and will continue for decades ahead. How can you tell your kids about the divorce? How can you prepare and protect your children from the painful impact of the divorce?Rosalind Sedacca, known as “The Voice of Child-Centered Divorce” talks about the ways you can protect your children before, during and long after the divorce. Together with Michelle, they dive into how to deliver the news to the kids in a way that's loving and supportive - putting together a positive and less conflictual divorce. They also talk about the challenges of dating after divorce when you're a parent.“It's getting out of your ego and putting the kids first. It makes a huge difference. Your kids will thank you when they're grown adults, or they'll be very resentful and hold you responsible for the pain that you caused them unnecessarily. It's not the divorce per se that messes kids up, it's how parents handle the divorce. So we have a responsibility and the ability to do a better job.” - Rosalind SedaccaAbout the Guest:Rosalind Sedacca, CDC is recognized as The Voice of Child-Centered Divorce. While it's not often we disclose our personal affairs with our professional network, in my case, I am proud to own and share my story as it's led me to create a unique solution for a situation that many families in the world face... and that is co-parenting. As a single mom, whose child goes back and forth between two homes, I realized there was a gap in the marketplace for any tools/resources that really helped support young children whose parents divorce/separate. And so, I've created Home Sweet Homes, the world's first planner and journal that stays with a child as he/she transitions homes. Journal entries help everyone share thoughts while the planner features allows a child to feel in control of his/her schedule. Home Sweet Homes is a child-centric tool that provides a child with the needed emotional support through this safe shared space. Plus, the book will be sure to be a treasured keepsake and memory book when a child is older.www.homesweethomesjournal.com

Rosalind Sedacca, CDC is the founder of the Child-Centered Divorce Network, and is a Divorce & Co-Parenting Coach as well as a Dating and Relationship Coach. As a founder of the Child-Centered Divorce Network, she does not focus her attention on providing legal advice. Rosalind agrees the system is toxic but specializes in helping parents make the best decisions on behalf of their children--before, during and years after a divorce. Rosalind believes the earlier she can reach both parents the better chance she has at getting them to grasp the damage done by making serious divorce mistakes. She has a unique and effective way to break the divorce news with the kids. Also, Rosalind has success strategies for co-parenting long-term and use probing questions to get parents in alignment regarding co-parenting issues. Choosing the right partner is the most important aspect of dating and to do it wisely as well as slowly. It is important to not rush into relationships as people may present a facade or an agenda and to look for red flags that may lead you to believe this person is not a good fit for your family. Breaking your past patterns is very important. The decisions made will impact your children and it is good to ask questions of them as well and what they think of their new world after a divorce. Also, it is a good decision to involve grandparents in their lives so children will always know their family is still around even after a divorce. Rosalind encourages parents to involve the school teachers, to let them know that there is a divorce taking place and to be aware of changes in your children. Some schools offer classes for children either going through the death of a parent and divorce.
