Family dynamics influence so much of what we do and how we process different situationsWe all have family dynamics and family relationships, whether the family we create for ourselves or some other version of family, and those family relationships significantly impact individual growth and societal contributions. Coaching has a profound effect on families and can transform not only the lives of parents but also the lives of children and, by extension, the broader community. The Role of Coaching in Family DynamicsFor many of us, there are sensitivities surrounding family dynamics and family relationships. This episode aims to bring a sense of peace and understanding to those who may struggle with family dynamics, highlighting that perfection in family relationships is not the goal, but attention and effort are crucial.Steph, who specializes in coaching for moms and daughters, shares her experiences and the immense value coaching has brought to her personal and professional life. The mother-daughter relationship, marked by many ups and downs, benefits immensely from coaching, which helps navigate the complexities of parenting through different life stages. The Power of Coaching for ParentsCoaching provides parents with invaluable tools to manage their relationships with their children better. For instance, coaching helps parents set aside their own struggles and focus on their children's needs, fostering a nurturing environment. Given the myriad of emotions, such as guilt, shame, and joy, that parents experience while raising their children, this kind of environment is vital.Every child has their own distinct personality, which emphasizes the importance of personalized approaches in parenting. Coaching offers strategies and tools that help parents connect with their children on a deeper level. Knowing how to regulate one's own emotions and nervous system before engaging with children can significantly improve parent-child interactions.Whole Person Coaching ApproachThe holistic, or whole person, approach to coaching looks beyond surface-level issues and dives into components like cognitive entry points, emotional sets, nervous system understanding, and action-oriented coaching. By addressing these pillars, coaches can better support their clients in multiple dimensions of their lives, leading to more profound and lasting changes. This approach is particularly effective for parents, equipping them with better strategies to handle real-life challenges and maintain emotional balance. Learning and practicing these techniques can enhance your ability to be present and supportive of your children, fostering a stable and nurturing family environment.Comprehensive Coach CertificationAbout Steph ChaffeeSteph is a certified Motherhood and Family Life Coach. Raising a child is big work and we all get a surprise in the middle of it all when it shifts from the needs of the first half to the different and more specific needs of the second half. It is easy to get flustered, lost, and frustrated as a parent (and child) during these years, but there is a sequence of steps, a path, all uniquely walked by each parent, that takes you through their needs and builds what they need before they leave home. In this episode, we walk through the first couple of steps of this more unknown (2nd half of childhood) path and what you can do to help your daughter become a person who knows their worth and values and appreciates themselves in this world. About the Host: Nellie Harden is a wife of 20+ years, mom to 4 teen/tween daughters, dreamer, adventurer, servant, multipreneur, forever student, and a devoted teacher, but her ride-or-die passion is her work as a Family Life Coach & Mentor.  Coming from a career background in marine mammal sciences, behavioral work, and a host of big life experiences, both great and not some not so great, she decided that designing a life of purpose and freedom was how she and her husband, along with their 4 daughters, wanted to live.  Her work and passions exist in the realms of family and parent mentorship because she believes that a family filled with creativity, fun, laughter, challenge, adventure, problem-solving, hugs, good food, and learning can not only change a person's life but is the best chance at positively changing the world.  She helps families build Self-Led Discipline™ & Leadership Into their homes, sets their children up for a wildly successful life on their terms, and elevates the family experience with big joy, palpable peace, and everyday growth! I work with busy moms to create simple, easy routines in the kitchen so that they have less stress and more time in their day.  From the time I can remember, I struggled with food. Food was the center of our family gatherings growing up. Over time, food became a comfort and also what I turned to when I was bored. The problem was the food I turned to was empty in calories and void of nutritional value. I looked to food for comfort again after my oldest daughter was born and my marriage began to dissolve. I went through a divorce and found myself a single working mom. Finances were a struggle, I was depressed and I was thankful to just get through to the end of the week. I found myself lacking in skills to deal with all these life stressors, and found my usual comfort in food. Sometimes you have an “ah-ha” moment. Mine happened on my 30th birthday while visiting my brother. I clearly remember standing on his deck, thinking that I did not want to eat like this any longer! Something had to change! I was so unhappy with myself. I was unhappy with the way I felt. Nutrition has become such a big part of my life, that I now am passionate about dedicating myself to helping other moms like me solve this very problem in their own lives. I want to provide working moms strategies and tools so they can spend time with their family doing things they love instead of stressing over what they will be making for dinner. This was an absolutely fascinating discussion about the observations and experiences of Joanne and her family from around the world!  How does your parenting compare to the norms in Germany, Australia, and South Africa?  What pressures do we have on ourselves that other cultures do not even recognize and visa versa?  There are so many ways to parent.  In this podcast, you will be opened up to other cultures and have an adventurous exploration of parenthood and family life About the Guest:  Joanne Holbrook is a mother of two children and spouse to a United States Army Officer, who has lived and raised her family in South Africa, England, Germany, Australia, and across the United States. Born in South Africa and living half her life under the controlling Apartheid Government, she began to yearn for a better understanding of cultures outside her world. This experience, combined with the world travels that come with a military lifestyle, and her teaching in performing art schools for the past 25 years has allowed Joanne to observe culture and parenting from multiple international perspectives and with a broader world view. She is an author, professional keynote speaker, parenting advocate, and entrepreneur, who through her friendships, book, and speaking events, shares parenting stories to help build positive, values-based families around the world. www.yourpassporttoparenting.com https://www.instagram.com/holbrookjo/ (https://www.instagram.com/holbrookjo/) Your Passport To Parenting -https://www.facebook.com/yourpassporttoparenting/ (https://www.facebook.com/yourpassporttoparenting/) About the Host:  Nellie Harden is a wife of 20+ years, mom to 4 teen/tween daughters, dreamer, adventurer, servant, multipreneur, forever student, and a devoted teacher, but her ride-or-die passion is her work as a Family Life Coach & Mentor. She helps families build Self-Led Discipline™ & Leadership Into their homes, set their children up for a wildly successful life on their terms, and elevates the family experience with big joy, palpable peace, and everyday growth! Friendship is tricky and can be difficult at any age. Today we have created this interesting duality of “know yourself, express yourself, put yourself out there” AND simultaneously, weirdly enough, as we have become more respectful of self, we have become less respectful of others in many ways which make us want to hide.  The result is not putting our real selves out there, so people are making friends with a person that isn't even you sometimes. In this episode I dive into: So how does your child find a friend? How does your child keep a friend? What are some warning signs for your child and you as a parent? How can we set them up for a lifetime of being able to make, identify and grow friendships? She helps families build Self-Led Discipline™ & Leadership Into their homes, set their children up for a wildly successful life on their terms, and elevates the family experience with big joy, palpable peace, and everyday growth!   With a lifelong passion and curiosity in thought, choice, behavior, and growth she has found incredible joy in helping families shift perspective, find answers, and a path forward.   (Nellie has been coaching families for over 10 years and has degrees in Biology, Animal Behavior, and Psychology. )     LINKS: 6570 Family Challenge- https://www.nellieharden.com/challenge (https://www.nellieharden.com/challenge) Website- https://www.nellieharden.com/ (https://www.nellieharden.com) Online Community- https://www.facebook.com/groups/the6570project (https://www.facebook.com/groups/the6570project) Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/nellieharden/ (https://www.instagram.com/nellieharden/)     Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/nellie.harden/ (https://www.facebook.com/nellie.harden/) Thanks for listening! Dr.Cecilia is a product of Self-Led Discipline and Leadership and what it looks like when applied again and again in life.  She is a pediatric dentist today and she will share what it looks like from her vantage point to see parents and families that put leadership into their core values and how she used it throughout her own life growing up as a high-level competitive gymnast. About the Guest:  Links Website https://ccfdkids.com (https://ccfdkids.com) Social Insta - @cece.in.the.ilm FB - @cecilia.liu.dds Bio I'm a native of North Carolina, born and raised. Growing up I was highly competitive in gymnastics and went on to compete in the collegiate level at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating, I moved to Wilmington, NC, and started working in a dental office. I was a dental assistant for three years before going to dental school at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. During school, I served as the class president and also had the opportunity to travel to provide dental care to underserved populations. After graduating in 2013, I completed a one-year residency program in Honolulu, Hawaii, and during that time, I found a passion for pediatrics. After Hawaii, I moved to Las Vegas for pediatric residency at UNLV and served as the chief resident from 2015-2016. In 2016, after finishing residency, I returned back to southeastern North Carolina to join the amazing doctors at Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry as we opened up the first full-time pediatric dental office in Brunswick County, Coastal Pediatric Dentistry. Even though I finished all my official education in 2016, I'm still constantly striving to develop my knowledge in pediatric dentistry. I completed my board certification in pediatric dentistry in 2019 and continue to dive into continuing education courses every year to help me help parents raise their children to be the best version of themselves. Outside the dental community, I'm an active member of the Junior League of Wilmington, a nonprofit organization that empowers women to create positive changes in the community. You are running around in a basic Tasmanian Devil like tornado of laundry, work, kid's taxi service, meal prepping, and helping the neighbor find their lost cat and your kiddo is just sitting there. When you ask them to help with something the bland and unknowing, probably annoyed, face rises from the entertainment at the moment and says... "what?" Yep. You are not alone. It is happening in nearly every home.  Let me ask... what made you do so much and what is making them do so little?  Why does this gap exist and what can we do about it? Let's chat! Today I have a very special guest on as well and that is my oldest daughter who is 16. She went through a transformational experience this summer that opened her eyes and heart and she shares all about it here! About the Guest: Skyla Harden is a vibrant 16-year-old junior in high school doing dual enrollment at the local community college. She has been in private school, public school, homeschool, Christian school, and now the community college and has thrived academically everywhere while continuously growing in emotional and mental awareness and wellbeing. She has been an entrepreneur in several philanthropic and retail businesses as well as helping with marketing and sales presentations for a widespread eco-friendly company and being employed at a local shop since she was 15. She is the oldest of 4 sisters, enjoys writing, and plans to pursue psychology and therapy as an adult. Your kids don't need you to die for them. They need you to LIVE for them!" and it made me pause. In the work that we do at The 6570, we are helping families build their family experience and the foundation for their child's future for generations to come and that takes intention and clarity. Dealing With Healthy, Broken, and Toxic People

The other day I heard Bishop RC Blakes talking about the three types of men: healthy, broken, and toxic. I listened to his Instagram post several times. I even sent it to a few people. This message immediately made me think of not just men, but women also. As a Family Life Coach, I see families and parents on a regular basis. I would say that these three categories are befitting of parents and other adults. Healthy people want others to be healthy. They share and show their support. Broken people have been hurt and are, unfortunately, still in that place of hurt. They've never gotten over the things that happened to them in their past. Sometimes, they can be loved back to health. Other times they are so broken that they become toxic. Broken people are challenging to love. Toxic people are often broken people that never recovered. They were abused, not they are an abuser. They were hurt, now all they do is hurt. Healthy, Broken, and Toxic..which are you? - Coach Teia www.coachteia.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/coach-teia/message

http://www.blogtalkradio/asksharifah I’m Naja Hall, Founder of Blended & Black.  I was born and raised in Memphis, TN but I’ve called New York City home since 2007.  I earned my Bachelors Degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from The University of Tennessee. I am a Family Life Coach.  I’m also an active member of the AAFCS and the American Bar Association as a Dispute Resolution Associate. My Husband is a Father of 3. But when we began to experience the hardships of parental alienation, unsuccessful attempts at justice in family court and trying to deal with an uncooperative co-parent, I knew we needed support. Aside from a few friends, I rarely let on about the stress of a high-conflict co-parenting situation. We all want to project perfect lives, when in fact, many of ours is far from it. In 2016, when I officially became a Bonus Mom, I was compelled to create a space for people like me. My journey to achieving peace was a long one and I am determined to make sure that others have a strong support system and a blueprint to make their transitions less tumultuous.

In this show, the Wonder Twins Jennifer and Danica will be discussing the touchy topic of family ties, when and if to cut them and whether or not blood really is thicker than water...and what that actually means to begin with. By the time the hour is up, you'll feel relieved, empowered...and FREE! Jennifer Flynn is passionate about helping people reach their goals and potential.
