Méně peněz do Prahy, víc do regionů, vyzývá miliardář

V pohraničí vznikly v posledních deseti letech velké průmyslové zóny. Zaměstnávají tisíce lidí, přinášejí miliardy do rozpočtu. Ale region nebohatne. Méně peněz do metropole, více menším městům, vyzývá byznysmen Milan Kratina. To má i politické dopady, příhraniční oblasti volí jinak, podotkl Kratina. „To, co v Tchibu dříve dělalo 1200 lidí, dneska s robotizací dělá 350. Nabízí tam 200 extrémně zajímavých pozic jako řízení automatizovaných a robotických systémů,“ vypočítává Kratina. Ale my chceme investovat i v Novém Boru, protože jsme patrioti,“ uzavírá podnikatel.*****Ve vatě. Podcast noviná...

The Joy of Cruising Podcast

This week I am delighted to welcome to The Joy of Cruising Podcast Dave Monk, the embodiment of the blog Shipmonk.Dave Monk is an award-winning cruise blogger and journalist who has written for the UK's major publications. Dave created Shipmonk, the blog that cruise line executives, travel media, and passionate cruisers visit for up-to-date cruise industry news, ship reviews, and features. I wrote about Dave in the just-released The Joy of Cruising Again amzn.to/3lAfyON in a section called “The Cruise Communicators.”Dave is a long-tenured UK professional journalist, and more recently the most prolific and keenly read cruise reporter on UK social media. Dave has been a journalist for over 40 years. In 2013, while still working at the newspaper Metro, Dave decided to establish a cruise blog, Shipmonk. In 2016 he was granted early retirement, which enabled him to pursue cruise writing in earnest. Now he was able to go on more cruises and to write about them at Shipmonk. He also began writing regularly for World of Cruising magazine, and travel writing for the Daily Mirror and Express, and then for the Daily Telegraph. With 100 sailings, Dave has experienced an incredible diversity of cruises—from four-passenger motor yachts to the biggest cruise ships in the world. His favorite destination is Alaska, although Dave also loves the Norwegian fjords and the Caribbean islands. He cruises so much he has to turn down what would be bucket list sailing for the rest of us—like the Galapagos twice!‘Any day at sea is better than a day in the office'—that's the signature adage of the late John Honeywell, aka Captain Greybeard, iconic United Kingdom journalist, and cruise writer. It was the epigraph, the opening quote, to my first cruise book The Joy of Cruising. I thought it perfectly captured the essence of the book—the joy of cruising. I repeated it at the beginning of Dave's feature in The Joy of Cruising Again because John Honeywell was a great friend and former colleague of Dave. Dave is an iconic UK journalist and cruise writer in his own right. And Captain Greybeard's quote perfectly captures the essence of Dave's story. He loves what he does—cruising and writing about it.Support the show

I am delighted to welcome to The Joy of Cruising Podcast, The Jenn Danielle, who I could refer to as a social media star, leading solo travel content creator, influencer, brand ambassador, or vlogger! I'll refer to her as Jennifer, and ask her to share her insight into a topic of immense curiosity to passionate cruisers like our listeners: critically acclaimed, rapidly growing, and yet a mystery to most cruisers—cruising on Virgin Voyages. In the three books comprising The Joy of Cruising Trilogy, I have had little content regarding Virgin Voyages. When the 1st book The Joy of Cruising was published early 2019, cruisers hadn't heard of the line yet. The new release The Joy of Cruising Again, was startedwhen the cruise world was in a state of suspended animation, although I said this in the introductory section: I'm intrigued by Virgin Voyages; the upstart cruise line jettisoned two cruising institutions—buffets and, wait for it…kids! I got into travel at all-inclusive resorts where buffets were the “entry drug” that led me to try cruising. At first, I was put off by the prospect of no buffets. After COVID-19, buffets are no longer as significant a part of the cruise experience for me. Virgin's no kids policy also gave me pause. Before the pandemic, I almost always cruised with my granddaughter. And as a young adult I grew up in cruising by taking my young daughters with me. So, it's definitely a new passenger experience for me. Later in the book after cruising had restarted, I featured UK cruise writer legend Dave Monk (Shipmonk) whose photo at the naming of Scarlet Lady showing Richard Branson dancing on the table to Rihanna, was front page in UK. By the way, Shipmonk will be my guest on The Joy of Cruising Podcast in August. Now, Virgin Voyages, whose Scarlet Lady was named Best New Cruise Ship in 2021 at the Cruise Critic Awards, dominated the Ocean Cruising category of the 2022 Cruise Critics Editors Picks Award (Best Dining; Best Nightlife; Best for LGBQT+ Travelers). We are booked on Scarlet Lady, interest in the unique cruise line is sky high, and there's no one better to share her perspective on Virgin Voyages  than The Jenn Danielle! The Joy of Cruising Again is now available! Get Funded Today: The Funded Today Podcast

In this episode, we’re going to familiarize you with the world of prototyping and mass-production, specifically as it relates to crowdfunding. Whom should you contact? How can you best keep your ideas from being stolen? How can you best ensure quality? We’re going to overview all of these topics and more in this episode with our very special guest, Gaston Liang, who is an expert in sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, and logistics. So, let’s get started… ---------------------------------------------------------------- ⭐ During this episode, we detail these takeaways:  1. Crowdfunding campaigners should develop their concepts into working prototypes before starting to raise funds to mass-produce them.  2. Creators should ideally patent their ideas, both in their own country and in their manufacturer’s country, before approaching a manufacturer—and should hire manufacturers through an NNN agreement to minimize their risk of their ideas being stolen.  3. Creators should consider manufacturing in Asia due to lower costs, may use tools like Alibaba or Jungle Scout or in-person visits to explore manufacturing options for their type of product, should avoid profiteering middlemen like sourcing agents, and should consider both communication and trust when choosing among viable options, plus the ability to accommodate unpredictable order sizes during mass-production phase.  4. Some manufacturers (like The LGG Corp) can help creators through all phases of production by providing cost-effective professional services like vetting concepts for viability, sketching them, rendering them, engineering and/or designing them into beautiful working prototypes, creating molds to mass-produce finished products, designing manuals and/or packaging to accompany these products, mass-producing and then assembling all of these items properly, warehousing them, shipping them worldwide, and handling legal requirements throughout this process—and it’s advantageous to hire a single agent for all of these tasks who can become intimately familiar with the product.  5. An average product may require several thousand dollars over 3-4 weeks to be transformed from concept to prototype, which creators may then market-test and perhaps iteratively refine—and it’s ideal to make all errors during prototype phase while it’s cheapest to correct them.  6. Creators should ideally produce at least 3-5 final prototypes for various purposes, which may include durability testing, product certifications, media production, user feedback, reporter reviews, and packaging design.  7. Crowdfunding campaigners should avoid being overcharged for molds for mass-production, and should expect to pay 30%-50% upfront for mass-production.  8. Creators can encourage high-quality mass-production through both effective project management and hired third-party inspections.  9. Although manufacturers may ship finished products temporarily to creators to store and then mail to consumers, creators may hire professional fulfillment agencies like ShipMonk to perform these tasks, instead, but it’s generally both cheapest and fastest for creators to hire a manufacturer (like The LGG Corp) that performs these tasks. ✍️ Click here for this episode’s complete show notes! ----------------------------------------------------------------
