"Electronic Body Music Tales"..hört sich zumindest spannend an. Oder?! :) Episode 113 ist jedenfalls ein ganzes Stück weit weg von "Melodic Techno" oder "Progressive House Music". Melodisch, klar, aber ungemein "elektrischer" sind viele der gleich folgenden Tracks Dance-Floor tauglich. (zumindest in meinen Augen..;) Namen wie JENNIFER CARDINI, HELSLOOT, HIGHLITE oder SHIT ROBOT tauchen hier jedenfalls nicht zum ersten mal auf. Sollten euch die Sounds seltsam vertaut vorkommen oder vage Erinnerungen wachrufen..keine Sorge. So oder so änlich gab's das alles schon einmal. Giogio Moroder hat den Grundstein gelegt und ab 1980 war der Sound dann einfach überall. ITALO DISCO haben wir damals dazu gesagt und getanzt. Ken Lazlo, Mike Mareen, Fun Fun und dutzende weiter gaben fast 10 Jahre lang den Ton an. Auf jedem Dancefloor wohlgemerkt. Seit damals tauchen diese typischen Synth-Klänge immer mal wieder auf. (und dann wieder ab..;) Im Tiffany waren es die BODY MUSIC TRACKS, im CULT die ELEKTRO DISCO CD's, in der BUDDHA ART GALLERIE durften wir DJ Hell erleben. Sein Label INTERNATIONAL GIGOLO DEEJAY stand lange Zeit an der Spitze der ITALO-RETRO-WELLE um bzw. ab 2000. Just One Kiss - Episode 113 erinnert ein wenig an diese Zeit und ist zugleich ein ganzes Stück näher am DANCE-FLOOR als üblich;) Wenn es um JUST ONE KISS geht, höre ich des öfteren: "Das ist viel zu ruhig" oder "Da kannst keine Party mit machen".. Was soll ich sagen. STIMMT. Will ich auch gar nicht abstreiten. Im Gegenteil. Der Podcast war von Anfang an für die Musik bestimmt, die es auch bei mir in den seltensten Fällen bis auf die Tanzfläche geschafft hat. Zu weich, zu schräg, zu ANDERS.. irgend was war immer..;) Nichtsdestsotrotz. Rückblickend kann ich sagen, das ein grosser Teil meiner JUST ONE KISS TRACKS bis heute meine Musikbibliothek nie verlassen hat... ..was ich von Schulzn's oder Guetta's Sachen nicht sagen kann..;) (Bitte nicht schimpfen. John Talabot is the acclaimed Spanish DJ and producer who has brought a real sense of melody and occasion to house and techno. The Hivern Discs boss, as well as releasing a standout album in ƒIN, and fine collaborations with Axel Boman and Pional, is also an in-demand remixer celebrated for being able to create majestical grooves from originals by people like The xx and Shit Robot. He has also put together a stunning DJ Kicks mix and now he has been in the booth again, putting together a typically epic podcast for our on going series. Across the course of one and a half hours, the Barcelona based Talabot lays out his musical modus operandi in all its glory: serene house riddled with melody, dreamy pads and wavy tones that speak to the soul.
