Goltz. Nīderlandiešu mākslinieka Hendrika Golciusa darbu "Dusošās Danajas sagatavošana Jupiteram" hercogs Pēteris nopirka no Rīgas rātskunga Johana Krisitiana Bērensa vien dažus gadus pirms Bernulli viesošanās. Sižeti varēja būt gan skicēti no dabas, gan mākslinieka iztēles auglis.

The Seven Streams Method

Download II Chronicles 10-16 We are in the Nation Stream reading from The Living Bible. 7streamsmethod.com | @7StreamsMethod | @serenatravis | #7Streams | Donate Commentary by Dr. Drake Travis Heavenly Father, we see the biblical truths shining forth today. Following you leads to wellness, strength, establishment, and blessing. Turning from you takes lives into decimation and loss.  May we learn from this and follow you regardless of anything that tries to distract us.  We are yours. Lord God.  Amen. Solomon is gone. The zenith of Jerusalem's wealth and power was a bygone era.  The glory of it all was stunning. Solomon had entranced the world as God had blessed him with a level of achievement no human had known to date.  But as time and tide waits for no man, Solomon's time was up after 40 years of leadership and his successor was not nearly as competent.  His son was raised by a brilliant man, yes, but not a godly man.  Whereas Solomon had been raised by a godly man.  Let the implications of that simmer in your mind.  Note that whereas the Book of I & II Kings gives a parallel account of this era, II Chronicles 10-36 (following Solomon's death at the end of II Chr. 9) tells of only the kings of Judah.  So keep in mind as you study Bible in this life, I Kings and II Chronicles both begin with Solomon 10 - Solomon's son Rehoboam (among numerous sons!) succeeded him as king in Jerusalem. Meanwhile Jeroboam, an Ephraimite [who was a manager of the labor force and the taxes coming from Ephraim for Solomon] came back from exile and lead a rebellion against the system that taxed the whole country at a stifling level.  Jeroboam's concerns were legitimate actually.  The problem was that in the process of deciding what the tax rates should be from that point onward, the young men were involved and they had no intention of being conciliatory.  They promised to raise taxes to a level that would choke them to death and they better get used to it!  Forgive me for being so relevant to current events, folks.  But tensions throughout history have usually been about taxation and it's level proceeding way past responsible/sensible and becoming theft and the financing of immoral leaders who are anything but forthright.  Rehoboam was moronic in his rejecting the advice of the older men and going with the "sophomores" in his midst; his peers mind you. Rehoboam's mother was an Ammonite, not Jewish so that gives you some insight as to where he might get his foolishness. Not to overlook his father having a child with an Ammonite, but heyyy!  Rehoboam proved to be a master of mismanagement and the 10 tribes of the north broke away. When the first Ambassador was sent north from Jerusalem, he was murdered.  The people were angry up north and they were not to be consoled. 11 - Rehoboam assembled an army to march north and subdue them; forcing them to come back.  However the Lord intervened immediately and told Rehoboam to go home.  Rehoboam spent the next years fortifying the southern cities of Judah. Meanwhile Jeroboam up north fired all the Levitical priests and they retreated to Jerusalem and Judea. Jeroboam needed to ensure the kingdom split and he effectively used bad religion to do so. Rehoboam failed to learn from his father's excess and he too took in 78 women as wives and concubines.  He placed his sons around Judah to serve as guards for him and made sure they all had many wives too [thanks dad!].  As I mentioned before, in a manner of speaking, Rehoboam wasn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Nevertheless, he was in charge, and he had more ambition than sense or insight. 12 - Rehoboam followed the Lord somewhat until he became powerful and wealthy enough to think he was self-sufficient.  He veered off into sin, led the people to Judah to do the same, and before long the Egyptian army was knocking at the door - with a battering ram!    And Solomon thought [40+ years ago] that there would be eternal peace with Egypt since his first wife was Egyptian...(peace through illicit sex never did work).  This Egyptian invasion by Shishak is verified by archaeological remains that string from Megiddo to the Negev and can still be viewed today.  Shishak bragged of this conquest on a wall carving that is in Karnak, Egypt.  This is the same city where Moses and Pharaoh had their year long showdown and the 10 plagues centered out of some 500 years prior.  It must have been especially gratifying for Shishak to do this - after hauling all the Temple treasures from Jerusalem back to Egypt. It was all so terribly unfortunate!  Ignoring God leads to such loss time and time again.  Rehoboam did humble himself again and the losses were not total for Shishak didn't decimate Judah and parts of the north like he could have.  If you are curious for more of Rehoboam, the collateral tale is told in I Kings 12-14. 13 - Abijah became king and he was wicked like his father Rehoboam.  Abijah's wickedness is more stated in the I Kings 15 story of him.  His battle with Jeroboam was successful in regaining some cities from the north. Abijah did know idolatry when he saw it and his confronting Jeroboam was a right move. The victory is attributed to his calling on God.  For that we must credit Abijah for doing something right.  Did the numbers in this battle hit you? Israel/the 10 Northern tribes, lost 500,000 elite fighters that DAY.  Good grief the USA lost 58,000 in Vietnam over 16 years.  the USA lost 400,000 in WWII across dozens of countries and numerous oceans over four years. This small country of Israel lost 500,000 in one battle in one area in one day!  One might think that Jeroboam [the northern king] would pause to ponder whether his paganism was working or not. or whether his tax revolt could perhaps be renegotiated...or not.  But Jeroboam was an angry dullard and he was struck that day in such a way that he never recovered.  It wasn't long before the Lord finished him off with a severity that took him to his grave. 14 - Asa was next king of Judah reigning from 911-870 B.C.; 41 years.   He was righteous and his heart was good and devoted to God.  He removed the idols and all the pagan relics along with.  He built walls and fortified the cities of the southern kingdom.  The Judea and Benjamite army totaled 580,000 men who were led by godly leaders.  They were so sound in their principles, led of God, purified of idolatry that when a million man army arrives from Ethiopia to take them down, quick work is made of them and not one survives! Not one.  The Bible says the Lord did this.  The plunder and spoils of war that went home to Jerusalem were quite something as they returned from this battle. 15 - Returning from war, they are met by a prophet who speaks a powerful word over Asa and the southern kingdom --> "commit to God!"  It's a Word that they end up needing more than one might think (this shows in ch . 16). They assert this call to reform all the more and finish removing any vestige of ungodliness they could find.  The altar is repaired the rest of the way, a huge offering is given as the whole southern kingdom pledges to follow God and declares that anyone who deviates will be killed.  New 'recruits' from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeons' territory were present as they wanted to be on the Lords' side of things.  There was a renewed covenant and joy in the land resulting from this commitment to follow God completely by everyone.  Asa even had his own mother removed from prominence since she had retained her commitment to pagan idolatry.   The guy's playing "hardball", eh?  Y'gotta love it when a man is committed to God and won't flinch for absolutely anyone. 16 - Then the north rattles the saber, goading Asa and Judah to war.  Asa errs permanently right here in that he consults Syria to aid him in stopping Israel from fighting him in Judah.  What was Asa's lapse in judgment all about? He had defeated them before and disposed of 500K top soldiers. He had defeated a hardened million man army from Ethiopia and LIbya and seemed to escape without a scratch.  !?He needs help from Syria now?!   What is he thinking? Is he NOT thinking? and why is he not thinking?  Verse 9 is a world of wisdom that is still speaking 29 centuries later., btw.  Check that verse again!!  After this prophetic exhortation in his 39th year as king, Asa went dark the last two years of his life and reign.  He didn't go to the Lord anymore.  Disease struck him and still he wouldn't pray.  Can we say, "all's not well that ends bad!"?

Chron. chptr. 1 last week was Adam through Isaac and his descendants.  That's a 2200 year stretch.  This week we go through four chapters that give us a glimpse into a whole 'nether world that may feel far removed from us. but it is the strand of life and the surrounding story that flows down to us in time and therein our faith is brought to us.  The names (name after name) lead us to regions, nations, other cities, and links to peoples that testified to the dilemma that all humans live out: we either seek and walk with God to be established and saved  / or we run from Him and trod the road to our own demise and ruin.  This material is a map of man that goes to the origin of it all.  And not for nothing, the term "prehistoric" is a misleading phrase that speaks of an ethos and mythical world ... that never did exist. "In the beginning God...HE made it in six days...Adam was there within a week. This is the beginning of history. There is nothing relevant before this.  Forgive us R2D2/C3PO /Chewbacca or whoever thinks what about what. I will admit some of the names in I Chr. 1-9 do sound like hints of StarWars names and places but they are not.  One other note before walking this out, these lists are there to picque our curiosity. No one we've ever met has this all memorized. It isn't devotional material. It is supposed to make us interject here and there, "oh, he's the guy from that one battle, ...that guy is the one who helped this king during the, etc.... isn't that one the one who knew this patriarch but also knew Methuselah before the Flood? and so forth. Any name that we hear today could lead us through a time tunnel on a trail to hidden treasure from thousands of years ago. My husband team-taught at a missionary festival wherein one of the speakers was working in the Near East and Turkey. In one of his photos that was shared, an ancient town was shown, and he said, "OK, now THIS town was founded by Japheth. And Japheth was actually the first "Mayor" of this town.  The cornerstone of this town that Japheth laid is marked and is still there!"  Yes, this is the Japheth who walked off the ark with Noah; his dad, his brothers, Shem and Ham and their four wives. Can you imagine Japheth speaking in the town there years after it was established and telling them, "none of you were here before the Flood, but let me tell you what it was like before all this was flooded. And the flood was because man would not obey God..." What a spell binding story time!  Anyway, these genealogies are as fascinating as we want them to be, alluring, investigative, revelatory, or ... as boring as we let them be because of tuning out and thinking "get it over with". But remember, God does not see our lives as something He wants to hurry through and get over with. God feels that way about none of these names either. 2 - Israel's descendants (Israel is Jacob) are Jacob's 12 sons who became the names of the 12 tribes.  Judah is listed first/next as he became the name of the remnant nation that morphs into being the naming adjective; for they are the Judaic people and culture. Also in this chapter are people who are direct-line-grandparents to Jesus. You heard of people who worked with Joshua and trounced Jericho, And did you catch "Bethlehem" in there. It was more than a town. Bethlehem was a person.  And you can visit that town today. You're too late to visit the maternity ward, but then again maybe you can find this baby if you will cry to Him. 3 - Next we have the list of sons of David and Solomon that come from the manifold women that these two took in.  At times we pause and are befuddled that we obtain our greatest devotional material from these two who walked with God and served Him wholeheartedly -except for then they were straying-!. David gives us the Psalms and a life testimony where he trained himself to orient back to God at every step regardless.  There is Solomon who God used as he took fastidious dictation of what God showed him. Solomon writes out the Proverbs for us; a book that has given guidance, strength and direction to paupers and kings for nearly 3,000 years. So what is with all the ladies?! David had eight wives and a collection of concubines that would get anyone ostracized from decent society today. He was perhaps even urged by the Israelites to carry on as such to ensure many children/sons to rule after him. But it were these multiple wives that trained him to have another and another so that when it came time to have another, he took her...even though it was another man's wife.  Solomon merely amplified his father's misgivings and his 1,000 women turned his heart away from the Lord. It affected the kingdom, the kingdom split and the world was changed.  Subtle lesson on the run: it isn't our private life wherein we can do whatever we wish and its our businessand everyone else can leave us alone. We read all the names here of Solomon's descendants who suffered under a struggling, waffling nation that was so up and down, due to civil unrest that roots back to Solomon's straying ... because of these women; women he felt he was free to obtain.  Yes, he could. But was it leading to good? 4 - Judah and Simeons' family lines are spelled out in this chapter. You may ponder what is the difference between Judah's list here in chapter four and the one in chapter two. If you care to look very closely the two are amplifications of the other and you'll remember that Judah had a dark side that was illustrated in Genesis 38.  This always tangles a family and often mangles it beyond repair. The interested may want to draw out the differences between Judah in I Chron. 2 v.s. 4 though it is too much to explain via this audio venue. You may have noticed the extra reference to Jabez in 4:9. He wanted more blessing and more territory. And God answered his prayer.  What do you want from God? Are you asking for it? He is waiting for you to ask.    Simeon's descendants are a colorful bunch that seemed rather numerous and hungry for adventure and more territory and a bit more action. The cities and other items listed here can all be looked up and researched at whatever level feeds anyone's curiosity. The fascinating thing to us is when seculars looking for ancient records, seculars who dismiss the Bible as a collection of irrelevant fables and miracles, begin their research and in the course of time, they succumb to the fact that the Bible is laser accurate and it turns out to be the best source for clarifying peoples and lists and migrations and the cultural transformations that took place way back in time. 5 - The origins and line of Reuben, Gad (Pronounced "Gahd" or "God" - like when we pray 'dear God'), and Manasseh are told in Ch. 5. Interesting that Reuben's stunt mentioned at the beginning affected his family, and centuries later the family standing was still where it was because of his misdeed in Genesis 35:22. This iniquity in about 1800 B.C. finished striking home the rest of the way right before 700 B.C.  And did you hear that line in 5:20? --> "They received Divine help because they cried out to Him, and he responded to their prayers because they trusted in Him."

Stop Following Dr. Simeons Original HCG Diet Many people have great success following Dr. Simeon's original HCG diet, which includes me, eleven years ago. However, over the years, I've coached thousands of people to massive success using our advanced HCG diet approach; I know why people have success the first time and then have difficulty repeating that success. The weight loss they've achieved is often a combination of water, body fat, and lean muscle, which subsequently causes rapid rebound weight gain. This is due to the deficient protein intake recommended by Dr. Simeon's original 3.5 oz protein rules. After a great deal of research and reverse engineering, I discovered that putting meal combinations together following the actual Simeon's meal plan, the calorie count was far less the minimum daily caloric intake required by Dr. Simeons himself. Most people, when following his original recommendations, are eating closer to 375 to 450 calories a day, which in turn puts their bodies into starvation mode, forcing it to look for lean muscle as an additional source of protein. This will cause muscle loss, eventually slow down the metabolism, and cause continuous weight stalls and frustration. In this podcast, I explain how a subtle change in the original HCG diet macros and protein portions will help you sustain fat-loss and preserve lean muscle.

Līdz ar to izšķir divus darba stāvokļus. Viens no tā novilkumiem atrodas Britu muzejā Londonā. Pasaules gaisma. Tā apvieno visu.

In todays scripture, Joseph and Mary have brought Jesus to the temple for an infant ritual, and two significant people, Simeon and Anna, are there to recognize and proclaim the significance of this child. Celebrating the New Year is a ritual of hope, but last New Years Day who could have predicted this year? Similarly, the celebration of Simeon and Anna at this ritual for the Savior was full of hope, but who could have predicted how all of that would eventually turn out? We experience intense lows as well as highs in our lives, and through ritual we know that Jesus is with us in both extremes. The end of Simeons story is not marked by his death, but by his life alongside that of Jesus. Through the ritual, Simeon and Anna were no longer waiting but welcoming. It reminds us of the gift of community.

Sermons from Seven Mile Waltham

The Songs of Advent || Simeon's Song In this sermon, Pastor Clint looks at the story and the song of Simeon -- one of the most overlooked characters in the Christmas story. We know nothing about him other than what Luke tells us in this passage; He was a devout man of God who patiently waited for God to come to rescue his people. God promised him he would see this consolation before his death. As he sees the child Jesus for the first time, he is filled with the Spirit and declares that the light of salvation has come. He then prophesies that the salvation this child brings will come at a cost. Simeon models for us what it means to trust the promises of God and to be captivated by a singular vision for the Gospel.

However I'm hoping you can clarify how and when to take the "performance" supplements you suggest. Specifically, I have the race caps supreme, the cordygen vo2, and the CREo2. They all say best used 46-60 minutes before exercise and better on an "empty stomach". How long do I wait to eat, assuming some nutrition is required before an extended period of exercise. Also if I do 2 a days, should they be repeated in the afternoon prior to the next event, lasting approximately an hour or longer. Finally, I have the recover-ease and should that be taken twice as well if there is two exercise periods a day, and should it be taken if you also do a recovery drink? Well, one more question. What are your thoughts about "alkaline H20"? Specifically, will it lessen the effectiveness of any supplements? Visit http://www.pacificfit.net for more information on these supplements, as well as the triathlon training plans and Ironman training camp that Ben mentions. Listener Katie asks: My question for you is this:  what has been your experience/thoughts with "the master cleanse"/the lemonade diet?  I did it once a couple of years ago (ironically, before I was as health-conscious as I am now) and I remember feeling good when I did it, but I wanted to see what those more informed than I thought about it.  Let me know if you can--I'd like to start it soon if it really is something as beneficial as it says it is. Listener Bret asks: On your podcast #51 you mentioned a client you put on HCG. Last summer I went on a 45 day cycle of HCG and dropped about 40lbs. As you know I am 11 weeks out from my Ironman and am maintaing weight...however I really want to drop another 20-30lbs. Would you suggest HCG again? I know that another 20 lbs would really help with my speed and get better results from all the work I am doing, but to do HCG per Dr Simeons protocol says no workouts and I would be working on no calories. Listener Anya asks: Ben, this is my first time commenting on your podcast and I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. I have a running question for you. I do some running-nothing crazy-but I can easily run 5 miles and up to 8 miles off the couch without any training. I have been noticing that my knees (esp. right one) are bothering me. I have new shoes--Brooks--fitted at running store--so it's not that. The owner there said being a female who has had children, that is to be expected--having to do with hips or something--and he said to do dynamic stretching. Do you agree with that? I really don't want to stop running--I love little races and 1/2 marathons etc. What do you think? Is it just a stretching thing (which I don't do a lot of)? Listener Eric asks: Ben, I guess my question is both sugary drinks and diet drinks are a poor choice, but what are some drinks you use?  I have been doing Stevia and lemons in water and is really good, but want some additional ideas for a low calories somewhat sweet drink. Listener Chuck asks: I thought that information about Octacosanol was very interesting and you gave a really good answer to the question. How much wheat germ would I have to eat daily to obtain the suggested benefits of the Octacosanol? I've seen it avaible in oil extract as well, but would rather  just be able to eat it. Listener Jen asks: I spend most of my work day sitting at my desk, but as I have learned from you, I know the benefits of standing as much as possible versus sitting. I can't stand at my desk, but I've seen people in the past sit on inflatable exercise balls. Does actually provide any benefit? My back often hurts and I am hoping it may help this as well. What do you think? Thanks! Listener Chris aks:  Switching to low-fiber foods a few days before an event is advisable, right?  I was just doing a google search on low-fiber foods, and found a lot of lists that contradict each other.  Could you make a short list of foods that actually have low fiber content that are reasonable for an athlete to eat?
