Die Musiktitel: - W.A. Mozart: 3. Allegro, aus Sinfonie Nr. 31 D-Dur KV 297 «Pariser» (Freiburger Barockorchester; Gottfried von der Goltz, Leitung) - Antonin Antonín Dvořák: 3. Poco adagio, aus Klaviertrio Nr. 3 f-Moll op. 65 (Isabelle Faust, Violine; Jean-Guihen Queyras, Violoncello; Alexander Melnikov, Klavier) - Francis Poulenc: 3. Allegro ma non troppo, aus Doppelkonzert d-Moll (Sylviane Deferne & Pascal Rogé, Klavier; Philharmonia Orchestra; Charles Dutoit, Leitung) - Billy Joel: The Stranger - Franz Schubert: Impromptu Ges-Dur D 899 op. 90 (Radu Lupu, Klavier)
Today on Transcending Comics, we're interviewing the creator of an incredible comic that shares a trans experience we've never seen depicted elsewhere. Hyde Goltz's "Bigenital Revolution: My (Very) Graphic Guide to Nonbinary Gender-Affirming Phalloplasty" is a graphic novel memoir (featuring art by Jey Pawlik) that asks the reader to reconsider the boundaries of biology, identity, and possibility. Hyde's journey as one of the first recipients of a bigenital gender reconstructive surgery not only challenges assumptions, but also offers hope for those feeling unseen and unheard. In this episode, Hyde discusses the impact of sharing their personal experience through comics. We walk through how a 2-year creative process became a love letter to the trans community, a tool for visibility, and a beacon of self-acceptance. Hyde shares stories from conventions, reactions from readers, and the surprising ways this comic has already begun to inspire change, one life at a time. Their message is clear: recognizing our own stories as sacred ideas is the first step toward true healing and liberation. This episode is perfect for trans, non-binary, genderqueer, and neuro-diverse individuals seeking stories that truly reflect their realities, creators looking to push boundaries, and allies eager to understand the vast spectrum of gender identity. For those that enjoy the more esoteric discussions of previous episodes, Hyde also shares their insights on magick, memory, and the power of storytelling to shape our realities. In today's world, everything is high speed this and high tech that and we seem to going 100 miles per hour. There doesn't seem to be enough time to accomplish all that we want to day to day. On today's program, we will hear from a pastor who has worked with adults and kids alike. We will talk about what it means to "be still" in this world that is anything but still. We will learn what the Bible says about our need to just "be still" in the midst of chaos.

Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss the life and role of one of the most significant figures in early 20th Century German history. Paul von Hindenburg (1847-1934) had been famous since 1914 as the victorious commander at the Battle of Tannenberg against Russian invaders, soon burnishing this fame on the Western Front and Hindenburg was to claim he would have won there too, if enemies at home had not 'stabbed Germany in the back'. He won Germany's Presidential election twice during the Weimar Republic, as a candidate of national unity and, while he gained his second term as a ‘stop Hitler' candidate, President Hindenburg was to appoint Hitler as Chancellor and transfer some of his charisma onto him – a move so disastrous that Germans were later to ask if the myth of Hindenburg had always been an illusion. After the huge success of his previous Deutsche Grammophon album, devoted to works by Mozart, oboist Albrecht Mayer turns his attention to the uniquely talented Bach family. For Bach Generations, he has chosen a selection of music by four members of the family: Johann Sebastian himself (1685-1750), Johann Christoph (1642-1703), Carl Philipp Emanuel (1714-1788) and Johann Christoph Friedrich (1732-1795). There is also a transcription of a work by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel, previously attributed to J.S. Bach. Recorded with the Berliner Barock Solisten and Gottfried von der Goltz (solo violin/concertmaster), Bach Generations is set for release on CD and digitally on 4 August 2023. At the end of World War I, the German army was defeated, but not everywhere. In Finland, Major General Rüdiger von der Goltz represented German interests in the Finnish Civil War. When the Finnish Civil War concluded, von der Goltz fixed his eyes on Latvia and Estonia. In this short episode between interviews, we learn a little about him and the events surrounding him.

On first glance, Soviet hippies would seem to have little in common with right-wing student protestors in West Germany in 1968. Yet as Juliane Fürst and Anna von der Goltz point out, both groups were non-conformists in their respective milieus, and both groups sought to carve out space for individual freedom and expression amid political forces that privileged sacrifices for the common good.
