Since March of 2020 the stock market has been on a massive run! Now, it's March 2021 and stocks are struggling to keep the run up. Many stocks are in consolidation, or trading far away from highs. The S&P 500 is (-4%) off from highs, the Nasdaq (-9%), and the famous ARKK (-24%). As the averages continue to struggle there are many deals to be bought from individual stocks. Many tech names such as Apple (#AAPL) and Adobe (#ADBE) are (-15%) off from highs and dragging the overall market down. Investors should be buying dips and taking advantages of sales while prices are low! In this video I'm giving you 16 setups that I'm watching and my favorite stocks that I want to add to my portfolio.

Nestled between India and China in the heart of the Himalayas, the Kingdom of Bhutan has long been known for its philosophy of Gross National Happiness, as a more holistic alternative to GDP. Over the last year, Bhutan has acquired yet another source of fascination and acclaim: its pandemic response. Even as countries the world over have struggled to contain the pandemic’s spread, Bhutan, somehow, has emerged relatively unscathed. Since March 2020, in the 12 months since the pandemic first struck, Bhutan has sustained just 1, a single, death from COVID-19.     Here to share this remarkable story is Bhutan’s Minister of Health, Her Excellency Dechen Wangmo, who since 2018 has served as the only woman in Bhutan’s cabinet. Minister Wangmo tells us today about her own journey, her vision and her hopes for the future of Bhutan. She also recounts how her country was able to mobilize so early, and effectively, against the threat of pandemic.  We discuss what public health measures the country instituted and also how they were able to enlist the unmitigated trust and commitment of the public to these goals.  It’s an interesting conversation, and I hope you enjoy it. Hacker Valley Studio presents: We Are Here - an audio journey and series exploring black excellence in cybersecurity. in part one of this series, Ron and Chris interview Patrice Washington, one of the world's most popular podcasters and authors. This episode in the series is a story of ascension. As we begin the episode Patrice mentions although she has a background in education, she’s here because of the hard work she put in during uncertain times and stepping into the unknown. In 2009, Patrice was in her mid 20s and graduated from the University of Southern California with a business degree emphasizing entrepreneurial studies. During her senior year she started a real estate and mortgage brokerage and grew it to a seven figure business by 25. Everything changed for Patrice after becoming a mother and experiencing the housing crisis shortly after experiencing so much success. Between ages 25 to 28 years old, she went from seven figure business owner to being on the bathroom floor, bawling and snotting and crying scraping up change in couch cushions.Patrice describes that “doing all the things”, “checking all the boxes”, or “being the one” is not the path to professional or financial success. From following her faith and reading scripture she was reminded, “What good is money in the hands of a fool if they have no desire to seek wisdom?”Patrice had a lot of knowledge, information, education but I didn't have wisdom. Which is how to apply knowledge, when to apply education, and with whom to apply education. Since March, 2009 Patrice has been on a mission to go everywhere she can and teach others that the journey is not just about chasing money, it’s about seeking wisdom. What helped turn around Patrice’s life was an unlikely encounter with blogging mothers at Starbucks that gave her the idea of sharing her story through blogs. She was instantly reminded of her first grade teacher. Patrice recalled Ms. Boynton saying, “Miss Cunningham, you know something, you have a responsibility. To share with your friends is not enough. You have to share what you know to everyone, so that everybody moves forward”. That’s what Patrice started to do with the blog, she began commitment to share everything that she has learned. When Patrice began writing and speaking she began embracing her gifts. At the start of her career she was writing, speaking and educating others with real estate but later realized that her gift was in sharing information and teaching others in a broader way. Patrice began asking herself, “How can I feel the same joy I felt to help others get to the aha moment when buying a home but without the real estate transaction?”. She searched for answers and found examples but none done by a black woman. Though this was discouraging, there was enough supporting information to let her know that if she stepped into the unknown she’d define her own success.Redefining your wealth and life is done through being intentional. It starts by doing what you adore and not being too tied with how much it pays. Setting intentions through your day, calendar, and time is a great place to start to begin understanding what you enjoy and what you can make into a career. Your career is not the only aspect of your life that generates wealth, your well-being is the vessel that guides you to wealth. Redefining your wealth and life means that you’re putting your health as a top priority. Impactful Moments:0:00 - Intro0:52 - Patrice Washington on Hacker Valley Studio!1:55 - Patrice’s background and dedication to hard work6:04 - Going from seven figure business to zero and redefining wealth9:47 - Identifying and applying purpose15:08 - Dissolving the need for validation from others20:32 - What others can do to disassociate their purpose from money26:36 - Investing in your health NOW, not when you’re sick31:15 - Advice for embarking on the journey of redefining wealth Pre-order Redefine Wealth for Yourself: How to Stop Chasing Money and Finally Live Your Life's PurposeConnect with Patrice Washington on LinkedIn and TwitterLearn more about Hacker Valley Studio.Support Hacker Valley Studio on Patreon.Follow Hacker Valley Studio on Twitter.Follow hosts Ron Eddings and Chris Cochran on Twitter.

Since March of 2020, the world's been "schooled." Our classes have been challenging. We're not just taking the on level version either. We've been thrown into the most advanced classes of how to stay healthy so as not to get COVID (Health), how to stretch our money as far as possible when the income dwindles (Economics), how to set up an office or classroom in our home (Home Ec), and how to live during a catastrophic worldwide event that is history in the making (History). No course description is needed for our last class (Government), because, well, who could sum up that craziness in five words or less?At this point, most of us are weary and just want to shout, "Enough already!" The tests we've faced have been like the extra credit word problems on a test. Who even knows how to solve them? My guest, Robin Luftig, faced the biggest test of her life. One which didn't allow for any time to study or prepare. Weird symptoms sent her to the Emergency Room. Tests revealed she would need a life-altering surgery in ten days to remove a brain tumor. Imagine if you were given ten days to "get your affairs in order." You're smart. You can read between the lines and know that means those could be your last ten days. What do you do during those ten days? What Robin did those ten days between her diagnosis and surgery is shared in her book, God's Best During Your Worst. You'll learn how she can proclaim, "A faith that is tested by fire is a faith that can be trusted."Visit Robin's websit at robinluftig.com. Recorded on 3 Sep, 2020. Central banks are powerful entities -- of this, there is no doubt. As of late, however, they have gone from powerful to almost omnipotent. Markets hang on their every word, and even minuscule changes in rhetoric, implied or explicit, have monumental impacts on how participants position themselves. Since March, the “Fed's got your back” mantra has rocketed markets to new all-time highs. Now, there are two questions to be had. First, what role will central banks play moving forward as they go above and beyond their mandates? Second, will their macro framework and economic toolkit be enough to lift growth and change the path of inflation? In an attempt to understand how this all plays out, we’ve invited Jeff Snider, head of global research at Alhambra Investment Partners, to sit down with Ed Harrison in this segment of Real Vision Live. Welcome to Tulsa Talks presented by Tulsa Regional Chamber. I’m your host Tim Landes. 2020 was a doozy of a year. In our January issue we recognize the efforts of many Tulsans in many sectors, who did important and great work. Those are just the representatives for all of you, so thank you. Last summer, Tulsans re-elected G.T. Bynum to lead the City and its residents for a second term. He too is one of our Tulsans of the Year. About six months ago he appeared on Tulsa Talks to discuss how 2019’s historic flooding had prepared him for his COVID-19 response. He and I chatted again on Dec. 21 via Zoom. This time the mayor reflects on the second half of the year, including his thoughts on his re-election victory and the politicizing of masks. He looks back at his first term and also discusses what he hopes to achieve over the next four years. That work includes responding to demands for criminal justice reform and policing. Bynum discusses the steps he’s taking to make improvements, including the new partnership with Family and Children Service’s that provides police officers the opportunity to take people dealing with mental health issues to the CrisisCare Center.Following that conversation, City Editor Morgan Phillips shares her interview with Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist. Since March, students have spent most the year distance learning or on extended breaks. As part of our Tulsan of the Year coverage, Morgan wrote about the tireless efforts of parents, teachers and school officials throughout 2020.One of those people is Gist. Since we didn’t get to share everything she had to say about the year in the magazine article, we wanted to share the full conversation with you here. She talks about how the evolution of findings in science and data has impacted the school district’s decisions throughout the year. The superintendent shares what has impressed her about TPS teachers and talks about the need for substitute teachers to ensure classes continue when students return to classrooms this month. She also reflects on the passionate positions of those on all sides of all the issues and more in this important conversation. Following that interview, we close with new music from Tulsa’s own Freak Juice. You’ll definitely want to listen to “Hole in the Wall.” More on that later. OK let’s get this going. This is Tulsa Talks **********In our January issue, writer Julie Watson has this to say about Freak Juice’s new album “They Call Us Juice,” which includes the song “Hole in the Wall” you’ll soon hear: "This funky, R&B infused album released Nov. 13 by guitarist and composer Tori Ruffin rocks as hard as it grooves. Ruffin, who has toured and recorded with names like Prince and Morris Day, doesn’t shy away from hard topics, including politics (“Hypocrite”) and the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre (“Dirty Little Secret”), wrapping his message in some seriously great musicianship." The answer to that question starts with you. Being a leader in your decision making. Allow your subculture be to present not dominate. We’re all moving through a storm and history needs us to locate and activate peace.

Born and raised in Japan and a resident of New York since 1976, Eiko Otake is a movement-based, interdisciplinary artist. She worked for more than 40 years as Eiko & Koma but since 2014 has been performing her own solo project A Body in Places, which began with a twelve-hour performance at the Philadelphia Amtrak station. Since then, Eiko has performed variations of the project at nearly 80 sites. Between 2014 and 2019, she and photographer/historian William Johnston travelled five times to post-nuclear meltdown Fukushima and collaborated on creating A Body in Fukushima, an extensive and expanding project that documents places of nuclear contamination with Eiko’s body. Eiko has presented both photo exhibitions and film screenings of A Body in Fukushima internationally at museums, art centers, and conferences on environmental disasters. Also in 2017, she launched a multi-year Duet Project, an open-ended series of cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural and cross-generational experiments with a diverse range of artists both living and dead. David Brick is one of her collaborators of the Duet Project. In January 2020, Eiko travelled to China for a month to work with choreographer Wen Hui, during which the Covid-19 epidemic was identified. Since March, Eiko has been creating works in her Virtual Studio, which archives her art making and public conversations in the time of the pandemic.Eiko has been honored with a MacArthur Fellowship, the Samuel H. Scripps American Dance Festival Award, and the first Doris Duke Artist Award. For her solo work, she has received a Bessies Special Citation, an Art Matters Fellowship, the Anonymous Was a Woman Award, and the Sam Miller Award for Performing Arts. Eiko teaches interdisciplinary college courses about the atomic bombings and other environmental issues at Wesleyan University, New York University, Colorado College, and Tokyo University. During the 2017–2018 academic year, Eiko was a Think Tank Fellow in Wesleyan’s College of the Environment. David Brick co-founded Philadelphia’s Headlong Dance Theater with Amy Smith and Andrew Simonet in 1993. Over the next two decades, these three co-founders created over forty dances as Headlong, performing nationally and internationally. In 2008, David co-founded the Headlong Performance Institute, a training program for creating experimental performance.David collaborates broadly in creating performance, participatory events, and community. His experience of growing up as a hearing member of a Deaf family continually influences David’s understanding of human bodies as active manifestations of culture. His recent work includes a residency at Dance Place in Washington DC to work on Island of Signs—a performance that explored growing up in a family with two languages, one that was shared and one that was not. He shared this residence with Carolyn Brick, his 78-year old Deaf mother who attended nearby Gallaudet University and was featured in a 1959 documentary about her experience there.

Since March 2020, the NCAA and especially Division III has been on a roller coaster. A ride no one ever predicted or would want to be on. The ride is also not over. Since March, many in DIII have tried to keep athletics going though through fall seasons the decisions had nearly everyone on the same page. Winter sports have seen more of a multi-pronged approach - depending on the institution, location, type, financial security, mentality, etc., etc., etc. On this final of a trip of Hoopsville podcasts, we talk to a couple of administrators on the impact the pandemic has made on the division and their institutions. We also talk about different approaches each has taken when it comes to trying to have intercollegiate competition. And we discover why even with the best efforts to move forward, some things are not within one's control. Yeshiva Athletics Director Joe Bednarsh and Amherst Athletics Director Don Faulstick give us their perspectives in what is a complicated world of restrictions, protocols, testing requirements, and more that are also always changing. Each institution has taken a different path, so far, but it doesn't mean their thinking is all that different. Find out how each is trying to ultimately help student-athletes succeed. Another place the virus has made a significant impact is to the D3sports.com network. Page views are down a whopping 93%! That ginormous decline has also hurt the financial future of the company. Editor-in-Chief Pat Coleman joins us to discuss the extremely difficult challenge of keeping the websites up and operational and how asking for help from those who frequent the sites seemed like the best course of action. Plus, Dave gives another in-depth breakdown of where DIII basketball sits in terms of a season ahead and especially possibility of NCAA Championships. And an update on where Hoopsville sits during an unpredicted challenge in front of everyone. Hoopsville broadcasts from the WBCA/NABC Studio. All guests are featured on the BlueFrame Technology Hoopsville Hotline. We hope to start live, video, shows sometime in January.

Tune in as we chat with student debt expert Dr. Tony Bartels about the COVID-19 Student Loan Repayment Relief Ending and strategies for re-entering repayment Since March 13, 2020, borrowers with federally held student loans have received student loan repayment relief. Interest rates have been set to zero percent, payments have been suspended, and for those using income-driven repayment or working towards Public Service Loan Forgiveness, the suspension time has counted towards qualifying forgiveness payments. The current relief is now set to expire on January 31, 2020. Many receiving student loan repayment relief have been notified by the Department of Education and/or their loan servicers that repayment will be restarting in 2021. Michael Ventura—Founder of Sub Rosa and author of Applied Empathy—discusses his process for integrating empathy practices in work environments. He recommends doing self-work first and attaining sufficient awareness to stimulate and present an empathetic self. For business situations, he emphasizes cognitive empathy which involves perspective-taking driven by inquiry, as well as identifying and unpacking top workplace challenges. For the broader setting, Michael suggests we have conversations to understand, rather than conversations to win.      Key Takeaways   [00:53] Where the journey of empathy starts.   [03:36] Michael gets encouragement to be brave as an entrepreneur.   [04:00] Sub Rosa’s role as UN translator helping brands connect with their target audiences was Michael’s first empathy-making moment.   [04:42] How Michael’s entrepreneurial ventures have all applied empathy in order to connect with people in meaningful ways.    [05:15] Generations differ in how they relate to technology.    [06:28] Defining generations, and the conundrum for those born 1977 to 1984!    [09:27] The interior work involved in empathy—observation, witnessing, and practice.   [10:14] In his book, Applied Empathy, Michael included self-work practices and how these help us learn about others.   [11:53] What is the most effective way to communicate the value of empathy in business?   [12:30] How we can measure empathy—through its impact.   [13:42] Since March 2020, has interest increased in practicing empathy at work?   [14:30] People have recognized issues communicating and collaborating, but not known that practicing more empathy was the solution.   [15:28] An unintended consequence of quarantine work environments: that employees see more of the ‘whole person’ of their co-workers.     [17:10] If managers want to support their team better, they need to shift their behavior and manage each person individually.   [19:04] When managers understand more about themselves, they can show up more empathically and be more effective.    [20:09] We become more aware when we ask ourself questions, recognize and take care of multiple aspects of our ‘self’.   [21:42] Michael finds core issues by asking managers about the biggest rock they are facing.    [23:04] There is so much on managers’ plates right now, how can their transition be supported?    [23:58] Michael advocates for manager peer groups for problem-solving and support.   [25:15] How does Michael define empathy? It’s not about being nicer to people!   [26:24] The three types of empathy.   [27:59] The importance and challenge of cognitive empathy - the Platinum Rule.   [29:43] How cognitive empathy is the easiest to demonstrate value generation to an organization.   [30:22] Michael positions empathy as a hard skill—it’s hard to practice and slows things down before it speeds them up.   [31:12] Cognitive empathy is inherently neutral and needs to come with a set of ethics.    [33:10] How can we apply empathy and help bring people together across the country?   [34:59] Approaching conversations to understand, not to win.   [36:52] Michael shares learnings from conversations he and his wife have had while traveling cross country in their caravan.   [37:44] Practicing empathy is sometimes a slow process.    [39:26] IMMEDIATE ACTION TIP: To create a daily practice of empathy, find the benign moment of the day or questions and think about ways to shift them—such as going from an autopilot ‘How are you doing?’ to ‘What’s it like to be you today?’     Resources   Michael Ventura on LinkedIn Instagram - @themichaelventura The Bridge Generation by Michael Rosa WeAreSubRosa   Quotes   “If you don’t learn how to get into trouble, you’ll never learn how you will get out of it.”   “Good managers already know, especially in this time, that there is no one-size-fits-all way of managing. You can’t manage everybody the same way.”      “Everyone has a synonym for empathy because we don’t have a shared definition of empathy.”   “There's a big difference between having a conversation to win and having a conversation to understand.”   “Practicing empathy is sometimes a slow process.”   “Find the benign questions or moments in your day where you go on autopilot and think about ways you can shift that.”

This past year during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been faced with unique challenges that have fundamentally disrupted our daily life and necessitated a variety of creative solutions from our working life to our time off. Mercedes-Benz Vans has jumped in to create a unique business strategy, taking business to the streets. This month Mercedes-Benz Vans Rich Webber, General Manager of Marketing and Nicolette Lambrechts, General Manager of Sales Operations are embarking on a cross-country road trip in a Winnebago Sprinter and Metris Getaway covering 6,489 miles, 21 states and three coastlines. The team will use this rare opportunity to reconnect in person with dealerships, influencers and business partners in various markets, which has not been possible in recent months due to the pandemic. The road trip will help to provide support for product, dealers and internal teams to help find a new path to success. They’ll be living in and hosting meetings out of the Metris Getaway and Winnebago Sprinter with a tailgate setup to allow for social distanced outdoor meetings, living out the trends that we’ve been seeing within the vans segment. Since March, there’s been an increase in demand from Van, RV and Parcel Van buyers looking for alternative solutions for their personal lives and businesses. We’re continuing to see customers embrace the #vanlife trend with rising interest in dual work/play vans, adventure vans and even retailers looking for pop up store applications. The RV industry has seen the highest demand in over four decades, along with a shift in the demographic with more than 50% of post-COVID business being first-time RV buyers of a younger demographic and more late-career RV purchases as an additional vehicle, rather than the typical empty-nester retirement purchase. Hear her describe with extreme articulation the spirits who met her, the spiritual environment she found herself in after the bomb exploded, and what it felt like to be a spiritual being. Since March of 2012, more than 75,000 people have seen or heard this interview on Afterlife TV, so I realize you might have viewed it before. Don’t let that stop you from revisiting this mind-blowing story. I just rewatched it myself with eye-popping enthusiasm. Even I forgot how rich and enlightening Natalie was in this show. Nobody articulates the spiritual realm quite like Natalie Sudman, so if this is your first time watching or listening to this interview, get ready for a whopper of a ride. Like all my older interviews, the quality of the Skype audio and video was lacking back then. Yet I was careful to make sure you, my audience, heard everything that got muddled. And since I know that some of you will want to watch my second and third interviews with Natalie, I've placed those links below. What Will The Pandemic Look Like During The Winter? It’s been almost a year since officials in China announced the spread of a mysterious pneumonia, and identified the first COVID-19 patients. On January 21, the first U.S. COVID-19 case was confirmed in Washington State. And new record highs for cases were set this week.  Since March, just about every country in the world has tried to get a handle on the pandemic using different interventions. Infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm and physician Abraar Karan discuss what pandemic planning might look like heading into the winter and during the second year of the virus.  Key Congressional Races That Could Affect Future Climate Change Legislation In addition to the presidential race, there were hundreds of local congressional elections that may be important in determining what type of climate change legislation will be passed in the next few years. Reporter Scott Waldman from E&E News/Climatewire talks about some of these races in areas affected by climate change. Not So Fast, Murder Hornets This past spring, you might have seen many headlines about murder hornets making it to the U.S. This is the sensationalist nickname for the Asian Giant Hornet, a large insect native to East and South Asia that preys on honey bee colonies.  Since late 2019, there have been several sightings of these hornets in Washington state. Just last month, the first Asian Giant Hornet nest was discovered in the U.S., in Blaine, Washington, which is on the U.S. and Canada border. On October 24th, that nest was successfully eliminated by a group of scientists from the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).  Joining Ira to talk about why it was so important to destroy this nest are two entomologists who worked closely on this effort: Chris Looney, with the WSDA in Olympia, and Jackie Serrano with the USDA in Wapato, Washington.

Host Paddy Padmanabhan talks to Dr. Nick Patel, Chief Digital Officer of Prisma Health, about his role and how the pandemic has transformed the healthcare industry with emerging technologies like online scheduling, virtual visits, chatbots, remote patient monitoring, and AI. Since March 2020, Prisma health has completed 360,000 virtual visits. Nick says that implementing digital health will eliminate the mindset that care can be provided only in an office setting. He believes that introducing automation in healthcare processes and digital front doors is important to improve care delivery. In the post-COVID-19 world, around 20 to 30 percent of all ambulatory visits will convert to virtual visits. However, social determinants of health also need to be considered such as lack of broadband access and technology challenges in older and high-risk patients. Patients today expect a retail experience from healthcare throughout their journey. Nick advises health systems to prioritize on solving the problems and focus on patient needs rather than starting with technology. Healthcare technologies must be an interconnected ecosystem that is efficient, intuitive, and can take advantage of automation driven by data.
