Singha Hon is a visual artist, illustrator, designer, and educator from New York City.Her work is inspired by nature, dreams, community, and mythology, and the many threads that weave us all together. As a teaching artist, she has taught on subjects ranging from drawing, portraiture, sculpture, printmaking, cyanotyping to an intergenerational cohort of students.She has worked as a teaching artist with The W.O.W. "The fact of the matter is your heating  your home and cooling your home and heating your water are the two biggest loads to your electric bill. They cost the most in in your home.  So this is an opportunity to yes decarbonize and do right for the environment and our grid but also for energy usage.  And the products are there.  There's more and more coming for sure. " - Anita Singha The much anticipated rebate part of the Inflation Reduction Act, HEEHRA, Home Energy Efficiency Rebate program launched in California in November, 2024.  Anita Singha, the Senior Marketing Director for the Switch Is On, the administrator of the financial incentive programs in California explains how this rebate program works and how to navigate it.   She explains the program provides rebates of up to $8,000 for low-income households (80% or less of area median income) and $4,000 for moderate-income households (80-150% of area median income) to install heat pumps and heat pump water heaters. The rebates are paid directly to the contractor, and consumers must use a HEEHRA-qualified contractor to be eligible. Anita walks through the steps for consumers to verify their income eligibility and find HEER-qualified contractors through the Switch Is On website. This includes using an online income verification tool, getting a certificate of eligibility, and then contacting multiple contractors to get quotes. Izumi shares her experiences trying to help low-income homeowners, particularly those in remote/rural areas, navigate the HEER program. She highlights issues like lack of HEER-qualified contractors in certain regions, contractors being unfamiliar with heat pump technology, and complexities around mobile home and rental properties. Anita acknowledges these challenges and discusses efforts to expand contractor training and outreach, and reassures that the $450 million in HEER funding allocated to California is secure, even with a potential change in federal administration. However, she notes that the rebates may not last indefinitely, so consumers are encouraged to act quickly. Additional clarifications:  California state is launching the rebate program with one appliance at a time, mainly focusing on the heat pump systems.  The first phase was for heat pump HVAC system, in which low-income households can get it installed for free although the homeowners may have to cover a difference if the cost of installation exceeds $8,000.  Qualified householders can apply if you live in a condo, 2-4 units buildings, ADU and Junior ADU.  If you live in a mobile home, you can apply as long as you're on a foundation and not have an axle or license number.

Abstract: A hallmark of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other interstitial lung diseases is dysregulated repair of the alveolar epithelium. The Hippo pathway effector transcription factors YAP and TAZ have been implicated as essential for type 1 and type 2 alveolar epithelial cell (AT1 and AT2) differentiation in the developing lung, yet aberrant activation of YAP/TAZ is a prominent feature of the dysregulated alveolar epithelium in IPF. In these studies, we sought to define the functional role of YAP/TAZ activity during alveolar regeneration. We demonstrate that Yap and Taz are normally activated in AT2 cells shortly after injury, and deletion of Yap/Taz in AT2 cells led to pathologic alveolar remodeling, failure of AT2 to AT1 cell differentiation, increased collagen deposition, exaggerated neutrophilic inflammation, and increased mortality following injury induced by a single dose of bleomycin. Loss of Yap/Taz activity prior to a LPS injury prevented AT1 cell regeneration, led to intra-alveolar collagen deposition, and resulted in persistent innate inflammation. Together these findings establish that AT2 cell Yap/Taz activity is essential for functional alveolar epithelial repair and prevention of fibrotic remodeling. Copy rights belong to original authors. Life is a crazy roller coaster, we cannot predict the future but we can learn from the past by recognizing our inner light. This is how Harry Singha achieved success through the recognition of his history.⁣ ⁣ Harry is a man of values ​​and principles, who has shared the stage with iconic figures such as Bill Clinton, Tony Robbins, Robin Sharma and Sir Richard Branson.⁣ ⁣ Harry's real process started at a very young age, one thing is having a goal and another is enjoying the process.⁣ ⁣ When he was a kid he experienced domestic violence with his mother and siblings, due to his father's alcoholism. It was a very difficult time, where he watched his father beat his mother 3 to 5 times a week, and feeling the stress of seeing his older sisters run away from home.⁣ ⁣ His adolescence was difficult, Harry began to sleep in the streets only to not go home, until one day he came home his uncle tried to murder him, but thank God his mother stopped him and told Harry to leave home. As a result of all that Harry believed that the problem was him and that everything that had happened was his fault.⁣ ⁣ Over time it was the understanding that Harry began to help other people without asking for anything in return, this turned into good karma that allowed him to change his life in less than 5 years.⁣ ⁣ Harry learned through the experiences of others, the problems of everyday life and the experiences of his clients; that nothing had been wrong and that everything that happened in his childhood was not his fault.⁣ ⁣ At that moment he was able to answer the questions that as a child he asked himself for so long:⁣ ⁣ - How was his father capable of hurting his mother and family like that?⁣ ⁣ - Why did his mother ask him to leave home?⁣ ⁣ - Why those awful things happened to him?⁣ ⁣ So he decided to take a break from everything and sit down in a room with the young Harry, talking to him, forgiving him and embracing his past.⁣ ⁣ This is how he changed the worst day of his life and made it the best, starting with healing, forgiveness, commitment and unconditional love.
