The MFI aims to accelerate the digital transformation of manufacturing, through work that includes things like robotics, digital twins and generative design as well as AM. She also learned about the Next Manufacturing Center, CMU's additive-focused research institute seeking to solve increasingly specific 3D printing problems— including how to model and avoid spatter in laser powder bed fusion.   Find photos, related links and the transcript for this episode on AdditiveManufacturing.Media.   This episode is brought to you by Additive Manufacturing Media. It is not easy to identify antique and vintage ceramics, because many were made by small local potteries and not marked. Workmen often moved to another factory but continued to make the same type of wares and decoration. Spatter ware is a pottery decorated with paint that is actually spattered on the plate by flicking a stick dipped in the paint. Very similar decorations were made by dabbing paint on with a sponge. Many collectors think spatter and sponge are the same, so you must check any written descriptions. Both are popular vintage collectibles. Both types of folk pottery were...Article Link

High-velocity splatter found on a shirt worn by disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh may show he was present at the time his wife and son were murdered.   FITSNews is reporting their inside sources are saying that multiple forensics experts, including one at an out-of-state lab,  confirm the preliminary analysis of a significant amount of high-velocity spatter from at least one of their bodies. Alex Murdaugh has since been charged with multiple financial crimes and faces numerous civil lawsuits, since Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were found dead. He's even been named a person of interest, but not a suspect, so far.  Sources close to the investigation told FITSNews that multiple shots from a high-powered rifle killed Maggie Murdaugh, including one that went through her back and another into the back of her head as she was face down on the ground. Paul Murdaugh's death certificate said the he had two shotgun wounds: one to the head and the other to the chest. At least one of the guns used in the murders belonged to the Murdaugh family. Alex Murdaugh's attorney has repeatedly said that his client's whereabouts are “accounted for completely.”      Joining Nancy Grace Today: Susan E. This week, in McCook, Nebraska, a couple goes missing, with the family suspecting foul play, but they never suspect just how, or why any of this has happened. Turns out, jealously, anger, threesomes, throuples, and sexually explicit graffiti caused it. Also, it just shows how you can never tell what freaky & wild things are happening, behind closed doors, in what seem to be extremely normal & square households. And what untold horrors can happen there, including some of the most hideous body disposal, ever!A twisted tale, where no one seems to do whatever the normal thing to do is!! Along the way, we find out that sometimes people who have nothing to do with anything get murdered, that female body parts may  more buoyant than male body parts, and that throuples are just as unhappy as any couple!! Hosted by James Pietragallo & Jimmie Whisman New episodes every Thursday! Donate at: patreon.com/crimeinsports or go to paypal.com & use our email: crimeinsports@gmail.com Go to shutupandgivememurder.com for all things Small Town Murder & Crime In Sports! Follow us on...twitter.com/@murdersmallfacebook.com/smalltownpodinstagram.com/smalltownmurder Also, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports! This week, in Humble, Texas, a regular, blue collar family leads a seemingly great life, until the lady of the house is found in her own bed, stabbed 73 times. There are plenty of leads, but they all seem to cancel each other out.  Was it a home invasion? Her husband? Her lover? Teenage lesbians? One is just as plausible as the next! One of our craziest episodes ever!!   Along the way, we find out Texans really like their oil, that sometimes people confess to murder for no good reason, and that love can't exactly conquer all!! Follow us on...    twitter.com/@murdersmall    facebook.com/smalltownpod    instagram.com/smalltownmurder    Also, check out James & Jimmie's other show, Crime In Sports! Since the early 2000s, a spate of forensics-focused TV shows and films have emerged on the pop culture scene. Years after Law & Order premiered in the '90s, shows like CSI, NCIS, and The Mentalist followed, trumpeting the scientific merit of analyzing blood-spatter patterns, reading facial and bodily cues, and using the latest fingerprint-matching technology to catch the bad guy. Yet what these procedurals neglect to acknowledge is that many of these popular forensic techniques are deeply unscientific and entirely political. Spatter pattern-matching, firearms analysis, hair analysis, fingerprint and bite mark analysis — they’re all mostly bullshit with little scientific merit. Despite this, forensics have helped contribute to the wrongful convictions of thousands of people: a storytelling aid, prosecutorial smoke and mirrors, a courtroom PR tool to lend scientific verisimilitude to what is very often just circumstantial, hunch-based police work. On this episode, we break down how popular culture depictions of forensics helps mislead viewers — and by extension jurors — into thinking forensics are science that proves guilt rather than what they really are: slick marketing collateral to help prosecutors convict someone they already think is guilty for other, nonscientific reasons. We are joined by Aviva Shen, Senior Editor at Slate.

Getting my fingers covered in dirt is as satisfying as having them covered in ink. Weeding is a bit like editing, after all, cleaning up what’s there to turn it into its best. Baiting, Feeding, Corning, Spatter, Chumming, whatever you call it; I'm sure you have an opinion on it. It seems that "The Industry" really has turned its nose up at the idea of shooting a deer as it eats corn. Wait a minute..... Why is it ok to spend countless hours in food plot prep, but as soon as you erect a feeder it turns taboo? We go into this in great detail, discussing the pros and cons of those golden morsels.  Today we also share our public land speed scouting experiences from the past week. We both headed out with new tracts to explore, and returned with some interesting observations that will hopefully pay off later in the season.   One-Eyed Jack, The Full Draw Film Tour Pre-show film is out! Tyler worked relentlessly all season for an oppourtunity for a shot a a buck of this caliber. Give it a watch! It feels like a million bucks to finally be able to get out in the woods and hunt! Now if we can just get one buck to cooperate. Its been a fairly slow October here in the south, but one of us did manage a successful harvest this week!  Watch the film on our Facebook page: The Element Facebook   For more rock and roll with soul, give Tyler and The Tribe a listen!
