Things aren't always what the seem! If you've been keeping up with Catt's Italian holiday and romanticizing with her about the beautiful Amalfi Coast, you know everything about this vacation appeared perfect. And although the trip was in fact a dream come true, you won't believe what happened on the way home. Maybe you'll relate? (Hopefully not!) A lesson in life and a sobering reminder that sh*t happens. What are the chances of an interest rate cut from the Federal Reserve this week? And how much will the central bank be paying attention to the unemployment report? We’ll discuss that and more as the guardians of rates gather for a meeting tomorrow and Wednesday. Then, we’ll unpack what Venezuela’s presidential election results mean for the country’s economy and hear why electric vehicle demand has been slowing.

This is the original copy for the previous release of this episode on 12/26/21: "This episode is the story of a lost live album by the great Johnny & June Carter Cash, recorded shortly after the legendary Folsom Prison Live album. The contrast in energy of these two nights is stark, and part of the discussion. The mood the night of the show was appropriately laid back for San Francisco. The Carousel Ballroom, which would shortly become the Fillmore (West), hosted the April 24, 1968 concert, and tape was rolling, as was the case when Owlsley Stanley was at the sound board. He recorded most shows that he mixed, which gives purpose to his foundation's modern mission of preservation. This Carter-Cash album could do a lot of good in that area. Markus and Ray talk with William "Hawk" Semins and Pete Bell of The Owlsley Stanley Foundation, about this show, and their ongoing efforts to preserve this audio legacy! Then they're joined by John Carter Cash, legendary producer and artist, and son of John and June! He gives the family legacy's view of this show, among other things! An amazing way to explore this unexpected audio treat and to mark our 150th episode!!! Listen to this cool episode, and then get caught up here!!! Thanks to our sponsors, Crooked Eye Brewery for their support of the podcast!" And just like that! Summer Vacay 202 is a wrap! Look for fresh, new episodes, starting August 5th! Originally released as episode #138 on 10/7/21, now tweaked and remastered for Summer Vacay 2024! "Coming together out of the fertile environment of Adelphi University and its college radio station, Public Enemy burst forth with a wall of power, a collective that changed Hip-Hop and helped forge an unholy alliance with Metal! Their song, "Fight The Power" played an actual role in Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing," which put the group on the radar of a much wider audience. In this week's adventure, we explore the band's roots as a loosely associated group of artists who converge via WBAU, coalescing as The Bomb Squad, with unreal "solid work" being set off. It's a rambling, veering off-kilter look at PE, who have been part of both Imbalanced Brothers' musical life! Hats off to the samplers, the DJs scratchin' it out, the MCs sayin' it! Give it up for The Funky Drummer!!! Take time to learn stuff about stuff you already know stuff about! Listen to this cool episode, and then get caught up here!!! Thanks to our sponsor, Crooked Eye Brewery for their support of the podcast!" Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This is a first-ever repeat of this original episode of the podcast! Released as #134 on 9/6/21! It has been remastered, but is otherwise as it was originally released, now, as episode #360. Our original episode notes: At the end of "Jim Morrison: 50 Years Gone" episode, Markus dropped a paper bomb in the form of The Doors, and Jim Morrison's FBI files! Weeks later, he and Ray were back in the studio discussing these files, available under the Freedom Of Information Act. The Doors are a band whose history is both overblown, and yet under-explored. So, let's learn things at the same time as your hosts, and discover some of the truth behind the persecution of Jim and The Doors! If you want to explore these files, click on through to our Doors Blog where you'll find both files, as well as, "Jim Morrison's Felony Arrest Poetry Jam!" Vacation for the Imbalanced History team means 5 classic, never-before-repeated, episodes from 2021, through the month of July!!! When Markus and Ray first talked to Steve Hackett, he and his wife Jo were in Covid lockdown, early in the pandemic. The reality of Covid is part of the discussion, but we've edited the original discussion, for current purposes. Still, the story of how this amazing album, Under A Mediterranean Sky, came to be, comes through, as the guys and Steve dig into the music, and its sources. Here's a handy link to purchase any of the albums/videos we discuss via Hackettsongs.com! A couple notes: this episode was originally episode #107, and our sound quality then, isn't what it is these days. Begging your pardon, but the interview & music make it worth it! Week One of five, for Week two, next Monday: Do The Reggay with Toots & The Maytals!!! All episodes, any time on our web site! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Summer brings out the vacay in this podcast host so I'm bringing out one of the EARLY episodes out of the vault. Enjoy!Episode 6 of CX Passport brings us Anne Witherspoon whose super power is "Outside In Thinking". While we discuss our shared appreciation of the wisdom of the "philosopher" Matthew McConaughey, Anne also brings us her wisdom around how influential employee experience is to creating great customer experience. How CAN we avoid "Sunday Sickness"? We also talk about companies that fail to consider the CUSTOMER'S experience when designing customer experience. Interesting twist there for sure. Other topics to explore are "psychological safety" at work and getting teenagers out of bed for a hot air balloon ride. Not sure how those exist in the same episode? Take a listen to Episode 6 with Anne Witherspoon.

Episode Summary:Summer break is coming! Yay! And, hopefully, with it, a relaxing vacation. But often the loss of structure from kids getting out of school and traveling can cause us to fall off the wagon with healthy habits. Overeating, drinking way too many cocktails, staying up late, skipping exercise….Aaaaand gaining weight and having to start ALL OVER AGAIN in the fall. This is the year that ends! In this episode, I'll show you how you can enjoy that extra cocktail but still stay on track and emerge from summer slim, healthy, and rejuvenated. ✨Get Sarah's Free Weight Loss Jumpstart CourseWebsite: sarahhaaswellness.comFacebook: Sarah Haas WellnessInstagram: @sarahhaaswellnessYoutube: Sarah Haas WellnessHost Bio:Sarah is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Personal Trainer, and it's her passion to help you lose weight, build confidence and create the badass, Boss Body and life you deserve. Her health journey began when her six-year-old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. So she threw herself into studying and learning all about nutrition. And in the process, she made some big changes herself for the sake of her kids, her family, and herself. Then, in 2019 she was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. She realized her life was centered on caring for everyone else (work, kids, family, etc.). Everyone except herself. She realized that stress, lack of self-care, and not listening to her body's messages was literally making her sick.Throughout her cancer treatments, she focused on her own self-care. And it paid off! Today she is completely cancer-free, and not only does she have her health and energy back, but she also has more strength, joy, and confidence than she ever imagined. She draws on her experiences with her own health and self-discovery to teach you how to break through unhealthy patterns and put you on the path to having the truly healthy, balanced life you've always wanted. Mates, we are back from Summer Vacay ready to give you all the latest Royal tea! We have (somehow) made it to Season 4 (phwoar!) and plan having this season focus on 'Historical Royals', but you know how easy it is for LK and Rossy to get distracted. So this ep is all about 'The Firm' and 'The men in grey'. Find out what all that means!
Beer Engine: New Vegas! That also could have been the title. Or something else that has anything to do with maybe coming back after a couple weeks off? Whatever. Well our Summer Vacay is over :( back to the podcast mines to grind out some more content. Put your hardhat on Tony! Today instead of Gypsum we managed to pull up some fun “sporps” talk about basketball, maybe some of the footy. You know, normal stuff! Griff's Horus stash full of SWAG and a very emotional “Lager of the Week” are both discussed. Also, Tony becomes an anti-....WAXer and also drinks one of his favorite barleywines EVER! Also included: mega saison nerds (not us but kind of us), the revenge of the glass whalez, and Tony shows off his fireworks knowledge. OK! Too many words! See ya!

So much to talk about this week! Allison and Ebbie hosted a 10-day lesbian cruise, which ended in a tragic crash that they believe has left them somewhere on the coast of the Cook Islands. Thankfully, using their technical expertise, they were able to rig a makeshift podcast studio to continue to bring humor straight to you. It took about a week, and the power source is not sustainable, but please enjoy this week's episode before Allison and Ebbie quickly lose hope and join hands to walk deep into the ocean together.Download Episode (39.1MB)
