That appears to be what's on offer from Paul Craine MLC as he asks Tynwald to support his motion which calls for the Isle of Man to benefit from the revenue generated on the seabed out to the median line between the Isle of Man and the UK. Scotland was granted similar benefits just prior to the independence referendum so surely the Isle of Man has a strong case. All the angles are explored on Agenda. Mr Craine does describe this as a David and Golliath sitution but perhaps it's worth the Isle of Man placing a polite request in its civil service sling and taking aim at the UK?

Last year the Isle of Man was warmer and sunnier than it has been since records began so why is Paul Craine MLC so worried? 2022 had 3 times more thunder storm than usual but slightly less rain, so we're more likely to get flooding when it does rain, and only one of the past 25 years has been cooler than average. Mr Craine may be a bit of a statistics nerd but he's concerned and these long term trends. Are you happier that its warmer and sunnier, or do you share Mr Craine's concerns about global warming? This week’s show was originally going to be another in the series of “odds and ends” episodes where I air tracks from some record I’ve either recently acquired or pulled out of the archives to give a listen. Unfortunately, the deaths of two great rockers changed those plans. Mark Lanegan is in my opinion the most artistic of all of the grunge-era lead vocalists. While the vast majority of his brethren rarely travelled out of their safe zone, Lanegan was a musical shape shifter throughout his entire career. There was simply not a genre he wouldn’t attempt, nor did it seem like he ever said no to a collaborator. The first half of the show consists of long sets devoted to his solo career and also a taste of those collaborations. Then just a couple of hours before showtime came the news that Downliners Scet leader Don Craine had also passed away. Never heard of the Sect? You’re loss. Please go do some research after listening to tonight’s show. The set dedicated to him not only includes some of the great tracks of their mid-60s glory years but also a couple of great collaborations with Billy Childish. Filling up the […]

He takes us on a journey of many twists and turns, personally and through his career.  Phil's path starts studying economics/commerce in Liverpool, then working at IBM, qualifying as an accountant and one day deciding to hitchhike to Israel!  He takes us through his time working at KPMG, taking him to Pakistan in the mid 80s, China, and sharing many memories working at Christian Aid in London and Africa. All of his stories highlight how quickly your life can take on a new direction and provide such liberating experiences. Phil loves walking and helping visitors discover the Isle of Man's beauty for themselves. While also raising awareness of global issues, poverty, human rights, and climate change, which provide him with great fulfilment. He is a great advocate of taking time to listen, to be with nature and to reflect. Or, perhaps, take a breath to work out what to do next. Ridiculous Chicago FOP COVID Stance

The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and their President John Catanzara are driving a bus filled with their membership right off the COVID cliff with their ridiculous stance on the city’s vaccine mandate. Only the in the minds of the alt right cult that has taken over the FOP could anyone believe that vaccine mandates are anything new in America. The FOP leadership has had to at one time or another go to school in American at which time their parents had to disclose to the School, mostly run by the local government, the vaccine status of their children. If any of the current leadership has children they have done the same thing. I wondering why they felt comfortable disclosing the vaccine status of their children but are not comfortable disclosing their COVID 19 vaccine status? Yes, once again Catanzara’s hypocrisy is very obvious. The COVID 19 pandemic is the most serious health threat the world has faced in 100 years. The data on officer deaths in the line of duty in 2021 backs this up as COVID related deaths are almost 5 times greater than the next highest cause of death. If you add up the topic 15 causes after COVID you will see that COVID deaths are almost 3 times the total of the next 15 causes. Catanzara should be endorsing the mandate and motivating his members to get the vaccine so they can take steps to protect themselves, their families, and the communities they serve. This should not be an opportunity where the FOP is trying to extort money from the city in return for trying to protect their members. On the pod we reveal new info we received that details what the FOP demanded to not fight to vaccine mandate. Breaking news just before we recorded says the Mayor has filed a complaint in Cook County Court against Catanzara and the FOP for “for engaging in, supporting and encouraging a work stoppage or strike.” (Craine’s).
