How to find leads? How to get traffic? If I had $1 every time I heard these questions…Everyone asks me that all the time - people at conferences I go to, entrepreneurs, guys in my text community… It's wild! And I truly love it! Because that means people want to learn. Plus - they think that I have answers for them, which is great.Because I do!But first, I'd like to change the perspective slightly. Yes, you want to look for leads, and you need traffic. But I think the better question is how to find customers or potential customers. I don't think you just want to get leads. But leads that will convert into customers? That's a real thing! So in this episode, we're going to talk about a three-step traffic framework… and some frameworks within the framework. I've also prepared a little presentation with a ton of valuable info, so this could be called a mini-course - but this one is free! Then, tune in and find out how to determine who your customers are, where to find them, and how to position your product or service to your market. There are also a bunch of helpful tips within this overall framework, so let's dive right in!Key Takeaways:I don't need to make money by coaching (00:00)How to get traffic? Change is inevitable, which is why we must learn how to deal with it.I just dropped my kids off at summer camp, where they'll be staying for the next four weeks. We haven't been apart for so long in a while, and it was a difficult moment for all of us.But on the drive back, I was inspired to think about change. In order to craft a great marketing message, you need to have this one, unique skill. But let me back up a bit...One of the biggest mistakes marketers make is they try to guess what their audience wants. More often than not, this approach leads to disastrous results. When you assume your personal opinions, values, attitudes, and challenges are relevant for your audience, you're setting yourself up for failure.“It's NOT about what YOU want… It's about what THEY want!” - Eric BeerBeing able to put yourself into your audience's mindset is a crucial marketing skill, which allows you to craft messages that resonate with your audience. And it shouldn't be a guessing game. You can have amazing results by simply asking! Creating surveys has worked wonders for me, and when Survey Detective launches, I'm confident it will for others as well.A great strategy for understanding your audience is to consider some of the key motivators present in human psychology. So for today, I'm going to go over one of the most common frameworks for understanding the wants of your audience, popularly known as the pleasure-pain principle.I will explore several marketing situations where this principle applies and explain how it affects your ability to create a powerful marketing message that converts!Key Takeaways:- A HUGE mistake many marketers make when crafting their message (1:09)- Understanding your buyer's mindset: avoiding pain or pursuing pleasure? (4:50)- What happens when you figure out your audience's “why?” (7:41)- “It's not about what YOU want…” (10:18)- Segmenting your audience by the pain-pleasure principle (12:10)Additional Resources:- Eric Beer's One Affiliate Offer Challenge: View Now- Sign up for the SurveyDetective VIP Waitlist (Coming Soon): Join Here---Connect with Eric!- Join Eric's Text Community: 917-636-1998- Eric's website: https://ericbeer.com- Follow Eric on Instagram: http://bit.ly/ericbeerinsta- Subscribe to Eric's YouTube Channel: https://bit.ly/2Uv1e8M---Follow the podcast on Apple, Spotify, Google, Stitcher, TuneIn, or anywhere else you listen to your podcasts. If you haven't already, please rate and review the podcast on Apple Podcasts!https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/performance-marketer

In the previous episode, I shared a powerful moment from a Russell Brunson event I went to recently. It was a 2-day seminar centered on his Perfect Webinar framework.I've listened to Russell's Perfect Webinar lecture on YouTube about 20 times. I knew the words, I understood the framework, but after this seminar, for the very first time - I feel like I REALLY know it. Back to front, all the elements, processes… As if it were my own.On the flight back, I watched a movie, and it hit me. I felt like Neo!I was looking at the Matrix and seeing through the code. Everything became perfectly clear to me!So for today, I want to talk to you about this experience and what it meant for me.I'm going to explore the method that helped me achieve this deep understanding of the Perfect Webinar so that you can apply it to any framework you want to master. Also, I want to share a few words to talk about SurveyDetective and what I think the next step in my journey ought to be.Let's get going!Key Takeaways:- Going to Boise for Russell Brunson's Perfect Webinar event (1:10)- The number one thing that helped me fully take in Russell's framework (6:18)- How will this experience shape the future of SurveyDetective? I haven't taken a business trip in what felt like ages. But recently, I went up to Boise for this event, and it was exactly what I needed.I attended a Russell Brunson event, and I witnessed something that inspired me to do this episode. The seminar was great. I was locked up in my own house for so long, working all day, and I needed something to break out of that routine. Not only did it provide me with a reset I desperately needed, but it was such a relief to see that other people were going through the same things I was. And in that, I found a great sense of camaraderie and belonging. Still, it's not exactly what I wanted to talk to you about today. At one point, we were all asked to share our thoughts and impressions. And this lady came up to the microphone and started crying. But when she explained what she felt - it was super clear to me.It's something I experienced a long time ago, but a lesson I still keep very close to my heart. A message I turn to whenever self-doubt starts to show its ugly face.Everybody's human.Today, I'm going to share some of my deepest thoughts on this subject, and I hope my words find you well.Key Takeaways:- Everybody's human - a message to all entrepreneurs (0:00)- My first business trip in a very long time (2:20)- An important lesson I learned at an early age (what A-Rod taught me…) (7:41)- What happens when you focus on what you're doing and ignore the rest? Today, I want to say a few words about burnout and how to prevent it.In modern society, even more so online, there's plenty of talk about success and what it takes to get there. And I feel like many people are putting a lot of pressure on themselves.Pushing yourself to be better isn't necessarily a bad thing. But if you're constantly working your butt off and giving it all you've got, you may find yourself on a path to burnout. And that path is a slippery slope, my friends. Here's why I'm telling you all this. It's normal to want to take a break. And if you've got that hustle mindset, chances are you're going to feel guilty about it.And if that's you reading this right now - stop it! Cut yourself some slack! The reason why I'm telling you all of this is because it's something I've been dealing with myself recently. Even after everything I've achieved, being OK with pressing pause and taking a step back is something I really struggle with.So for this episode, I'm going to share my thoughts on preventing burnout and the value of pushing the reset button from time to time.I hope this helps!Key Takeaways:- Why is taking a moment to reset so vital (1:13)- Feeling guilty when not working (2:27)- You need to enjoy the journey (2:55)- How does taking a step back help your business? The best way to understand another company's customer journey is to go through it yourself.I recently had to return a package I received from Amazon. But it turns out sometimes even the most seemingly mundane tasks can become a memorable experience. At least for business geeks such as myself.Apparently, you can return stuff from Amazon without paying for shipping, but only if you send it through Kohl's. And just by taking that little extra step, I witnessed an incredibly powerful business deal. First-hand, from the perspective of the consumer.Even as I was going through the process, I immediately recognized the benefits for everyone - customers included.Whenever I encounter this kind of strategic thinking, it truly makes me smile. After all, it's one of the main reasons I love business so much. And biz dev deals such as this one helped me get to where I am today. So for this week's episode, I will reverse engineer this Kohl's-Amazon partnership and share a simple 4-step framework for creating fantastic biz dev deals.I hope you enjoy it!Key Takeaways:- What I went through trying to return a package to Amazon (1:02)- How Kohl's managed to upsell me (3:54)- Reverse engineering the Kohl's-Amazon deal (6:23)- What makes this an excellent deal for Kohl's?
