If you want to learn, if you want to be successful, DROP OUT OF SCHOOL! You've been brainwashed into thinking "You must go to school and get a good education." Look, the education system sucks. It's designed to be boring to get you to associate learning with boredom. It is not a place of learning but a place of indoctrination. There is NO super secret knowledge behind the closed doors of a school or university. Everything you've ever wanted to learn is right in your pocket and all you have to do is ask: "Hey Google!" "Hey Siri!: You're better off spending the money you would spend on a single sheet of toilet paper... ...err I mean, a college degree, on investing in your own little start up business that you run from your couch. Guess what? Everybody and their dog has a college degree now. Everybody is in student debt. Don't be everybody. Be a procrastinator. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Pitt, Oprah, John Mayer, Lady Gaga, John Lennon, Jim Carrey, Walt Disney, and Abraham Lincoln. The list goes on... You know what they have in common? They were all DROP OUTS. You heard that right. They dropped out of school. The richest, most successful people in history were drop outs. But wait! What happened to "get a good education and you'll get a good job" That only applies if you want your job to be working for someone else with no freedom. If you want to be a labor slave, then go right ahead and continue your education, but if you want freedom PROCRASTINATE! These successful people, PRO-crastinators, realized the education system wasn't doing them any good and learned things on their own. They created their own opportunities. They were each a "Autodidact", which is just a fancy-schmancy word for " a lazy self-taught person who didn't want to work hard in class and instead wanted to do whatever they wanted. " See, the only thing your taught at school is how to become a hardworking corporate slave. Nope, we don't want to work hard or for someone else. We're lazy. So we're dropping out. And sure maybe your parents, family, and friends might be disappointed in your decision to do so, but they'll be kicking themselves in the head when they realize "Oh shit, (s)he's an uneducated millionaire". Education is waaaay overpriced and don't let societal pressure make you believe otherwise. Learn what you want to. Don't be indoctrinated. _ If you want to check out more, head over to the full blog here:_ http://www.procrastin8r.com/blog/dropout Clips used in this episode: BEEZ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPMRHGlkNj4 MaMaMax https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgxaHyxvCmc Thomas Sanders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mB2yx4EltbE

We discuss the importance of music to what Autodidact is and has become. They share thoughts on the future and talk about the plans this weekend to celebrate their anniversary. We also discuss District 96's new location, the idea of brewery locations in malls, and how to partake in the solar eclipse with a beer. We go over local releases that caught our eye and Chase from Top Beer Drops talks about the highest rated beers of the past week. Congrats to Autodidact on their first year and we wish them the best of luck for the future.

Self-learners want to learn on their own accord, and at their own pace. How can we fit into a college like environment, or create one ourselves? In honor of Higher Education Day we are talking about how to go about your own while being and Autodidact. Blog: https://polyinnovator.space/higher-education-for-autodidacts/ Video: https://youtu.be/vUha-MtcMbk
I discuss how we tend to minimize the talent behind a self paced learner. How many Autodidacts do we have to thank for incredible ideas. The myth of genius is limiting, but the myth of being a self taught learner is worse? Imagine the benefits of supporting fast learners, who could in turn help the slower learners. Raising all boats. Forget neuro divergent hiring, we are all atypical. Unleash the bonds. Do our children learn language best at a young age, or do we assume that?

That's right ladies and gentleman, ATB interviewed Tom A, owner of Taphouse 15. If you are not from Jersey or not familiar with Taphouse it is hands down the greatest beer bar in the Garden State. If you are planning a brewery tour of the tri state this is a must add. Not only is the beer list unparalleled but the food is a great complement...did ya see the size of that mozzarella stick?! Besides Tom, Autodidact joined us for an update on their business and their recent collab with Twin Elephant as well as Rob and Scott...do we have to keep telling you who Rob and Scott are, yeah you get it by now. Taphouse gets busy, even on Monday nights, so the audio was a bit rough at points towards the end. With that exception, this was a great episode with laughs and some good info on the craft beer scene. We hope you all enjoy!
There are so many resources online available to help newbies learn how to design, architect, code, and deploy software projects. But with this large repository of knowledge, we can be overloaded and overwhelmed with information. Where does one even start? Daniel Leskosky, a petroleum engineer turned industrial engineer turned software engineer, was able to figure it out. After taking a few CS courses on the side, reaching out to hundreds of software developers on LinkedIn, and getting active on "tech twitter," he paved the way from not being able to do a single Leetcode problem to cranking them out daily through the #100DaysOfCode challenge. We discuss cold-calling on LinkedIn, taking online courses, building and deploying his own blog site from scratch, developing GitHub portfolios, and also strategies for practicing algorithms from different sources.

The full transcript is further below.Words to learn from this episode:one does not simply... 02:18ravaging00:29alluding Transcript:One does not simply listen to podcasts without knowing the Vocab man.Baromir from the Lords of the rings movie: "One does not simply walk into Mordor".0:16 Today we are going to take a closer look at "one does not" or "one does not simply". I am the Vocab man and hopefully, we are going to learn a bunch of things. Alluding to (referring to) a quote from a Lord of the rings movie. 00:34 One does not simply is the catch phrase of popular memes that comment on humerous complex, challenging or aggravating (annoying, provoking) experiences or situations.0:46 One does not put sugar in green tea. I know I said I'm aware of this custom, but I really liked my tea. Sweet in response. He gave me an even more courteous (polite, respectful) version of the same explanation. One does not put sugar in green tea. I understand. I said that the Japanese do not put sugar in their green tea, but I'd like to put some sugar in my green tea. 1:14One does not listen to the Vocab Man without learning something. Do you know what alluding or to allude (to refer to) means? I mentioned it in the beginning of the podcast: 1:28Alluding to a quote from a Lord of the rings movie (= flick) .One does not simply is the catchphrase of popular memes (an image, video, piece of text, etc., typically humorous in nature, that is copied and spread rapidly by internet users, often with slight variations) for to allude is to refer to, or to imply or to mention. And. The other word was "catchphrase". I catch phrase is a well-known sentence or phrase, especially one that is associated (connected with something else) with a particular famous person. 1:59One does not use fitting room two when one is popping one's cherry. (Quote from Kingsman) Again, this time I'm going to make a transcript for this episode. So for those who didn't catch every word, you can simply read along while listening to the Vocab Man. Bye.2:18I don't know how things are in that third rate novel of yours, but where I come from, one does not go around ravaging (to cause severe and extensive damage) libraries. (Quote from Inkheart 2008)And by the way to ravage means something like to cause severe and extensive damage to like the hurricane ravaged southern, Florida. Oh my gosh. The last two words are really difficult to pronounce correctly.Links: https://www.dictionary.com/e/memes/one-does-not-simply/#:~:text=Alluding%20to%20a%20quote%20from,or%20aggravating%20experiences%20or%20situations.(Quote from Kingsman)(Quote from Inkheart 2008)www.myfluentpodcast.comDop me a message at myfluentpodcast@gmail.com Cheers, your Daniel, the English learner.
