On le pressentait en décembre, et cela se précise, la demande mondiale en cacao est orientée à la baisse. Cette tendance est donnée par un indicateur : le volume de fèves transformé par les broyeurs. Les broyeurs sont les industriels qui transforment la fève brute en différents produits comme la pâte de cacao ou le beurre, qui sont ensuite vendus à l'industrie de l'agroalimentaire ou à des chocolatiers. Le chiffre des broyages est considéré comme l'indicateur le plus fiable pour évaluer la demande. Schématiquement, quand les Européens mangent moins de chocolat, les broyeurs européens ralentissent la cadence. Les chiffres du quatrième trimestre 2025 qui viennent d'être publiés sont révélateurs : en Europe, les broyages ont baissé de plus de 8 % par rapport à la même période l'année dernière, selon l'Association européenne du cacao (ECA), de 5 % en Asie selon la Cocoa Association of Asia et de 13 % au Brésil. Il n'y a guère qu'aux États-Unis que les broyages se maintiennent. Ces baisses montrent une diminution de la demande, en raison du prix des fèves devenu trop élevé entre 2024 et 2025. Au Brésil, l'Association nationale des industries de transformation du cacao (AIPC) confirme une chute de la consommation nationale de produits chocolatés, cette chute dépassant 20 % pour certaines catégories comme la liqueur de cacao et le beurre de cacao. Cette situation se reflète déjà dans les cours qui ont commencé à fléchir depuis mai 2025. À leur sommet en 2024, les cours avaient frôlé les 12 000 dollars la tonne, ils peinent aujourd'hui à atteindre 5 000 dollars la tonne. Les annonces des dernières statistiques de broyages ne sont pas de nature à inverser la tendance et à faire remonter les prix. Incidence pour les producteurs ? Ce repli des cours mondiaux a une incidence sur les producteurs dans les pays où les prix sont libres et suivent le marché, comme par exemple au Cameroun. En revanche, chez le premier producteur mondial, la Côte d'Ivoire, la baisse des cours ne devrait pas avoir d'incidence immédiate car les producteurs touchent un prix qui est fixé en amont pour toute la campagne de cacao et qui est cette année plus haut que l'an dernier. Paradoxalement, ce prix garanti n'a pas suffi à les protéger : certains cacaoculteurs ivoiriens se retrouvent dans une situation très précaire, une partie de leur récolte n'ayant pas trouvé preneur depuis plusieurs semaines, en raison des difficultés financières de plusieurs acheteurs-exportateurs locaux. It's Miriam Shor, y'all! You Might Know Her From Younger, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Magic Hour, GCB, Shortbus, Swingtown, Maestro, American Fiction, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Miriam gave us all the scoop on grounding the zaniness of Diana Trout on Darren Star's Younger, leading the indie comedy Magic Hour, and appearing in "brilliant but canceled" series like GCB and Swingtown. I like adding the liquid in first so you can combine them before topping with the mineral water. Add ice to the glass and fill to the top. Top with Topo Chico and add slice of lime for garnish. Berry Bourbon Lemonade (https://www.crowdedkitchen.com/berry-bourbon-lemonade-pitcher-cocktail/): Ingredients Bourbon Lemon Juice, about 12-14 large lemons Chambord or another Raspberry Liqueur Blackberries and Raspberries (fresh or frozen) Agave nectar (you could also sub with simple syrup) Water Sparkling water or club soda (berry-flavored sparkling water or plain club soda) Mint leaves and fresh berries Directions Heat the water and agave in a saucepan over medium heat. The idea for this cocktail is to make a berry syrup with the blackberries and raspberries. Add the berries and bring to a boil. Stir well and turn off the heat. Let the mixture sit for 20-25 minutes, then strain through a fine mesh sieve. Use a spoon to press as much juice out of the berries as possible. Add the bourbon, lemon juice, Chambord and berry agave mixture to a large pitcher. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Add sparkling water/club soda just before serving! You can either add it straight to the pitcher, or top off each individual drink. Optional: garnish with fresh berries and mint. (TDCA), Vall d'Hebron Hospital Universitari, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Labcorp Drug Development report an updated analysis from a phase I study of the spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) and FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 inhibitor mivavotinib. They present data for the overall cohort of lymphoma patients and the subgroup of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), including an expanded cohort not included in the initial report. “Mivavotinib (TAK-659/CB-659) is an investigational, oral, reversible, potent dual inhibitor of spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) and FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) [18]. SYK is an essential component of the B-cell receptor signaling pathway; abnormal SYK signaling has been implicated in the pathogenesis of DLBCL and several other B-cell malignancies.” Patients with relapsed/refractory lymphoma for which no standard treatment was available received mivavotinib 60–120 mg once daily in 28-day cycles until disease progression/unacceptable toxicity. A total of 124 patients with lymphoma, including 89 with DLBCL, were enrolled. Overall response rates (ORR) in response-evaluable patients were 45% (43/95) and 38% (26/69), respectively. Median duration of response was 28.1 months overall and not reached in DLBCL responders. In subgroups with DLBCL of germinal center B-cell (GCB) and non-GCB origin, ORR was 28% (11/40) and 58% (7/12), respectively. Median progression free survival was 2.0 and 1.6 months in the lymphoma and DLBCL cohorts, respectively. Grade ≥3 treatment-emergent adverse events occurred in 96% of all lymphoma patients, many of which were limited to asymptomatic laboratory abnormalities; the most common were increased amylase (29%), neutropenia (27%), and hypophosphatemia (26%). “These findings support SYK as a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of patients with B-cell lymphomas, including DLBCL.” DOI: https://doi.org/10.18632/oncotarget.28352 Correspondence to: Leo I.
