But a lot of people, more than ever are truly ready to make a difference [43:51 - 51:49] Will they keep the same energy throughout their whole lives? Or will they repeat the same process again five late years later and pretend to care again? Me: As Americans, we keep on getting reminders because of these injustices. How many more reminders do we need that there's a huge issue in this country? I hope we don't have to continue to see these types of things happen Ike: They've got to understand and recognize that because they have been the majority, and this is now the time to understand and continue having these conversations [51:50 - 01:12:39] What is "White Privilege" and why do some people find a hard time breaking it? In this week's solo episode, I will be talking about the concept of trusting the process. We have to realize that to reach our end goal we must go through a series of failures and trials because we will never get everything perfect the first time. The most important thing is to have faith, don't give up and trust in the process because eventually, everything will work out. Things you will learn in this episode: Opening Segment (1:05) Karl talks briefly about self-empowerment, mental health, and personal fulfillment Karl offers 15minutes of Zoom call with him for free. Use this link if you are interested https://calendly.com/karlsona32 (https://calendly.com/karlsona32) The Concept of "Trust the Process" (2:38) Karl shares his story struggling during these difficult times Everything in life is a process Learning from Travis Scott's Process (4:19) Karl talks about the documentary about Travis Scott's Astroworld You can watch Travis Scott's documentary on Netflix Process takes work. It takes commitment (6:29) Whatever your goal is, it will not be perfect the first time. It is a series of iteration. It is a series of trials. Being too critical of ourselves. Creating resentment for the process. We need to find a way to embrace the process (9:33) The process takes more time than the actual outcome that we are looking for. Stop Judging Yourself! (11:20) You will not get everything perfect right out of the gates! Start looking at failure from a perspective of inputs (11:54) Rather than judge something as a failure base on the outcome, why not judge it base on the input. We are in control of the inputs Have more blind faith (13:30) Don't give up! Have some faith and it will work out. Some final words from Karl (14:40) Tweetable Quotes: "The process takes more time than the actual outcome that we are looking for" - Karl Sona "Everything in our life is a process." - Karl Sona "Process takes work. We all have that little voice in the pit of our stomach that works tirelessly to steer us towards choices that place us on a path of true happiness and fulfillment. Yet, when push comes to shove, our gut instincts tend to get drowned out by a more ‘rational' voice… the voice of our conscious minds that often tell us to fall in line and stay on the straight and narrow of belief systems that have been widely accepted by society or popular culture. On today's episode, Dorothy Illson, founder of the Do Well, Do Good Podcast, sits down to share her story about the power behind following her gut and staying true to herself. She explains exactly how she went from turning in her letter of resignation at a Fortune 500 company just two weeks after her college graduation, to taking a MASSIVE leap of faith, joining the start-up world, and ultimately founding her company Needle Eye's Media. Dorothy breaks down the power behind asking ourselves better questions, and how we can build a stronger mindset to help us create great success and leverage it as a contribution to the world. This is a great episode for anyone who is curious about how to step up and confidently take a stand for what you really want out of life, and how to go after it. What are your ideas or stories worth? I believe the answer is absolutely nothing; unless you start sharing them. We're all unique individuals and the G.O.A.T's of our own lives... no one else is ever going to be able to ever tell it quite as well as you can, because no one else has experienced it from your perspective. You have a voice, you a have a mouth, and therefore you have something worthwhile to say. All of the greatest brands, companies, and things we interact with in our everyday lives started with a story or an idea that was effectively communicated. In this quick bonus episode, I explain how sharing stories is a new currency, and why you should think about sharing more of your own! Ephraim Glick knows what it's like to have his back against the wall, with no other options than to forge a path towards success. When Ephraim left the Amish community where he grew up for the 'English world' as a teen, he found that he had no one else but himself to depend on and he immediately got to work. That's when Ephraim started his first of 8 businesses that he has owned and operated on the premise of the question, "What Happens If I Don't Do This"? Pretty powerful stuff... Ephraim is in the process of writing his first book, and in this episode we discuss what it really means to become your own hero and he graciously breaks down his 7 step process on how to release childhood limiting beliefs that hold many of us back.
