They also explore why transparency, not perks, keeps people invested in their roles. In this episode, Dart and Luke discuss:- Why work should be designed as a subscription product- Funnels vs. flywheels in hiring and retention- How bad recruiting leads to employee buyer's remorse- The role of delight in keeping employees engaged- How hiring attracts more hiring and losing creates churn- Why transparency in recruiting matters more than perks- What Luke hires his job to do for him- How to build work experiences people want to subscribe to- And other topics...Luke O'Mahoney is a people strategist and founder of Sapienˣ, where he helps companies design work experiences using product-led thinking. Business is not just about making money. Business owners, especially those starting out, should have a clearly stated purpose or the essence of the organization. More than the numbers and figures, businesses exist to provide value to their customers. Likewise, customers recognize value when you provide them with products and services worth their time, effort, and money. Most of them, if not all, crave a personalized experience and want to feel cared for. Fred Reichheld, also known as the “high priest” of loyalty and the creator of the Net Promoter System℠ (NPS®), joins us on the Greatness Machine to talk about customer loyalty and his book, Winning on Purpose. In this episode, Darius and Fred discuss what great leadership looks like, the key driver of customer loyalty, and the ways to enrich the lives of other people. They also talk about NPS and eNPS and how these things work and help businesses measure the quality of their customer service. Topics include: What is the one key driver of customer loyalty Definition of Net Promoter System℠ (NPS®) and how it works Fred explains the NPS rating scale Verbal NPS versus digital NPS NPS versus eNPS What makes a great leader And other topics… Resources mentioned: Winning on Purpose: https://www.amazon.com/Winning-Purpose-Unbeatable-Strategy-Customers/dp/1647821789 Good to Great: https://www.amazon.com/Good-Great-Some-Companies-Others/dp/0066620996 Connect with Fred: Website: https://www.netpromotersystem.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fredreichheld/ Connect with Darius: Website: https://therealdarius.com/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dariusmirshahzadeh/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imthedarius/ YouTube: https://therealdarius.com/youtube Book: The Core Value Equation https://www.amazon.com/Core-Value-Equation-Framework-Limitless/dp/1544506708 Learn more about your ad choices. Today I want to delve into the most common mistakes I see leaders making and, more importantly, what you can do instead. These mistakes often act as barriers for leaders, preventing them from achieving the impact they desire. By recognizing these mistakes and implementing the suggested solutions, leaders can enhance their effectiveness and drive better results in their teams and organizations.Using Your Self-Awareness to Your Advantage: Self-awareness is a crucial quality of a good leader, but it can become a hindrance when leaders focus solely on improving their weaknesses. Leaders should focus on their strengths and assemble a team that covers their weaknesses, so everyone can flourish in the areas where they excel.Knowing Your Number One Priority: Leaders often fall into the trap of not identifying their number one priority, and without a clear focus, progress becomes scattered. Leaders need to determine the most critical goal and communicate it effectively to their team. This way everyone can align their efforts and work towards a shared objective, ultimately driving greater success. The Art of Clear Articulation: Communication is one of the most challenging aspects of leadership. It can be really difficult to simplify complex strategies and ideas so that everyone can understand them. However, boiling down the message to its simplest form helps ensure that everyone comprehends the objective and can contribute effectively. Leading with Humility: Leaders who rely solely on their charisma to rally their teams may limit their impact. By removing the ego and shining the spotlight on the collective cause, leaders can inspire teams to work together towards shared goals, fostering a more impactful environment.Making Tough Calls: Leadership often involves making difficult decisions, and many leaders resist taking action due to the discomfort associated with these tough calls. However, true leaders choose to confront and resolve challenging situations to produce the best outcomes for their teams and organizations.Creating Psychological Safety: One of our key responsibilities as leaders is to create a psychologically safe workspace. Without an environment that encourages communication, team members may be afraid to take risks, challenge ideas, or offer input, and work will suffer. A culture of psychological safety allows people to thrive and contributes to overall team success.Applying Knowledge: Leaders are often avid learners, constantly consuming books, podcasts, and articles. However, acquiring knowledge without applying it can render it meaningless. Leaders must ensure that they apply the concepts and ideas they acquire, in order to maximize their growth and the impact they have on their teams and organizations. As leaders, we must continuously evaluate our actions and behaviors to identify areas for improvement. By recognizing and rectifying these seven common mistakes, leaders can enhance their effectiveness, drive better results, and create a positive and impactful environment for their teams. In this episode, Steve Fretzin and Robert Weiss discuss:Why creating video content is about more than video. Authentic video content for your law firm and for your target audience. Aligning video content with your law firm's business strategy. Planning to repurpose your video content before you ever film. Key Takeaways:Start with video content today if you're not already doing it - even if it means hiring a professional to guide you through the process. Authenticity trumps perfection. Your video does not need to be absolutely perfect, fully scripted, or error-free. Start your videos with thought leadership - just take the time to answer the top five questions you get asked all the time and know the answer forward and backward. There is power in video testimonials. While it may seem strange for your clients at first, people will say yes eventually if you keep asking and those will add additional strength to support your business. "I'm not saying don't ever do the brand video or the pro bono video, I'm saying, get started with the most value and get the needle to move." — Robert WeissGet a free copy of Steve's book “Sales-Free Selling” here: www.fretzin.com/sales-free-selling Thank you to our Sponsors!Lawmatics: https://www.lawmatics.com/bethatlawyer/Get Staffed Up: https://getstaffedup.com/bethatlawyer/Green Cardigan Marketing: https://greencardiganmarketing.com/ Episode References: Good to Great by Jim Collins - https://www.amazon.com/Good-Great-Some-Companies-Others/dp/0066620996 About Robert Weiss: President of MultiVision Digital, a New York video production and video marketing company, that provides the full spectrum of video strategy, video production and video marketingservices. In this episode, hosts Dr. Aaron Fritts and Dr. Bryan Hartley interview Scott Becker, founder and publisher of Becker's Healthcare, a media company dedicated to serving the specialized interests of healthcare leaders. --- SHOW NOTES Scott's background consists of a blend between healthcare law and media. He attended Harvard Law School, where he served as a teaching assistant for many students, including young President Obama, a third year law student at the time. In his twenties, Scott worked at a large firm and specialized in healthcare law, representing surgeons and surgical centers. While working within a large law firm, he realized that he wanted to take control of his own career and subsequently transitioned to a healthcare media focus in his 30s. He brought on Jessica Cole, a college student at the time, to handle team organization and commercialization for his small newsletter. Together, they expanded into websites, newsletters, and organized conferences in Chicago. Recognizing the growing interest in these conferences, Scott expanded his team to cater to a wider customer base. Due to higher demand and larger hospital budgets, hospitals and health systems ultimately became their primary focus. After talking to target customers, they developed separate media service lines including reading and audio content. Scott talks about the transition from brand advertising to lead generation advertising, a strategy focused on reaching the target customer and generating profits from those leads. The journalists at Becker's Healthcare generate these leads by consistently staying updated on healthcare leadership trends, evolving perspectives, and audience engagement to create personalized content and maintain their connection with the audience. Scott and the hosts explore the challenges of artificial intelligence and Chat GPT in engaging with audiences, strategies for distinguishing a business in a media landscape inundated with information, and methods for creating highly engaging and interactive conferences. This year marks the 29th Annual ASC Conference, with hundreds of participants and notable speakers including Rob Gronkowski and Mia Hamm. --- RESOURCES ASC Annual Conference https://conferences.beckershospitalreview.com/beckers-october-asc-annual-conference-2023 Becker's Hospital Review https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/ Good to Great by Jim Collins https://www.amazon.com/Good-Great-Some-Companies-Others/dp/0066620996 Peter Attia https://peterattiamd.com/

Performative productivity sound good. Doesn't it?But in burnout, it isn't. It's looking like you're being productive, without actually delivering the deep value that's expected of you. It's looking busy, but feeling jaded and cynical. Here we will explore the signs of performative productivity and why you might be working this way. Then we'll look at alternatives that will empower you and your team to become more successful, engaged and mutually supportive, so that you can deliver top class results with less effort, less friction and more fun.I also include the traits I hire for, as an inclusive and people-centred leader. This has been so successful for me, I teach all my clients how to open up their leadership skills-base in the same way. Topics include: What is the one key driver of customer loyalty Definition of Net Promoter System℠ (NPS®) and how it works Fred explains the NPS rating scale Verbal NPS versus digital NPS NPS versus eNPS What makes a great leader And other topics… Resources mentioned: Winning on Purpose: https://www.amazon.com/Winning-Purpose-Unbeatable-Strategy-Customers/dp/1647821789 Good to Great: https://www.amazon.com/Good-Great-Some-Companies-Others/dp/0066620996 Connect with Fred: Website: https://www.netpromotersystem.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/fredreichheld/ Connect with Darius: Website: https://therealdarius.com/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dariusmirshahzadeh/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whoompdarius/ YouTube: https://therealdarius.com/youtube Book: The Core Value Equation https://www.amazon.com/Core-Value-Equation-Framework-Limitless/dp/1544506708 Learn more about your ad choices.
