On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman interviews Liam Horne, an amazing artist with killer new music. Liam shares the meaning behind his song "All On Me," describing it as a special track that marks his transition from boyhood to manhood in the music industry. He explains that the song represents a shift from his previous poppy bubblegum style to something darker and grungier, reflecting his growth as an artist. Liam's main goal is to create music that provides an escape for listeners, offering a release from the real world and a chance to connect emotionally. Pipeman and Liam discuss the importance of authenticity in the music industry. Liam expresses his admiration for Robin Thicke, one of his favorite collaborators, highlighting Robin's unwavering dedication to his craft and his humble nature. They both emphasize the significance of creating music for the love of it rather than focusing on external factors like numbers and trends. Liam believes that artists need to be genuine, deserving of success, and connect with their audience on a deeper level. Looking ahead, Liam reveals his plans to release multiple songs and singles, aiming to flood the world with his music. He announces his upcoming single, "Cars with Leather," and shares his intention to embark on a college tour and potentially join other artists as an opening act. While the specific details are still being worked out, Liam encourages fans to stay updated on his social media platforms for tour dates and announcements. As the interview concludes, Pipeman asks Liam about a memorable experience in the music industry. Liam recalls a time when he stood outside renowned studios, like Conway Studios and East West, handing out CDs and passionately promoting his music. This old-school approach ultimately led to unexpected opportunities and reinforced his belief in perseverance and never giving up. Liam's advice to his grandkids and aspiring artists is to maintain a relentless attitude, reminding them that anything is possible if they pursue their dreams with determination.Take some zany and serious journeys with The Pipeman aka Dean K. Big thank you to the 6x Grammy nominated R&B singer BJ the Chicago Kid for coming on my show for an interview! BJ discussed his new 4am EP, being independent, his friendship with fellow collaborator Eric Bellinger, and starting in the choir at a young age. At 19, he moved to Los Angeles, in which his first job was being a backup singer for the R&B duo Mary Mary. This led him to meeting and working with major artists such as: Mary J. Blige, Joe, and Mario. He talked about 2005 being an important year for his career when he was in the booth with Stevie Wonder and performed on stage with both James Brown & Usher at the Grammy Awards. Join my conversation with JOSH X. The singer/songwriter has worked with Cardi B, Rick Ross among others. He attended the prestigious summer program at The Juilliard School. We discuss his upbringing, his latest singles "I Miss You" and "Creole Love Part 2", meeting his idols Brian McKnight and Stevie Wonder, and his upcoming podcast and cooking show in 2021. Raised in Queens, the singer/songwriter/producer (born Josh Xantus) initially honed his musical chops as a classical pianist at the age of 6. “My mom being originally from Haiti, the thing she loved the most was classical music. My first influences were Mozart, Chopin, Bach, Beethoven,” he says. Although he’s trained in the Western canon, when he got around to listening to r&b, he fell in love with Brian McKnight. “He was a piano player and a singer. I wanted to learn his songs so I could do it too.”Josh studied at the prestigious summer program at The Juilliard School and graduated from Five Towns College. Realizing that classical music just wasn’t in his heart, nor getting him attention from the ladies, he decided to pivot. “By college, I knew I wanted to be a R&B singer,” he laughs. In college, the wunderkind began to sneak away to late-night studio sessions, eventually meeting rapper Jadakiss. It just felt right. “I knew this is what I was supposed to do. I started doing a lot of open mics and putting my face out there. The dots started connecting.” By 2008, he was making the rounds as an independent artist (under the moniker Josh Xantus) and released “All For Love” (featuring Jadakiss). His network grew, working with notables like Swizz Beatz (co-writing “Ready to Go” for FOX’s hit show Empire), Jerry “Wonder” Duplessis and Bryan “Birdman” Williams from Cash Money Records. 2009’s “First Time” even caught the ear of Stevie Wonder and led to a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with the legend. “I’ll never forget that song. He took interest in me. That song opened up a lot of doors,” says Josh. One of those doors was linking with Shaft of The KSR Group, a NYC-based record label that was working with then-fledgling artist Cardi B. Josh was tasked with writing and producing for Cardi beginning in 2015. “I saw the vision. I was the first person to produce Cardi. The two collaborated on her single “Selfish” as well as his “Heaven On My Mind” in 2016. After working tirelessly behind-the-scenes for three years to help shape Cardi’s astronomical rise, Josh X is ready to emerge as a star in his own right.Dropping “Xantus” from this stage name, Josh X is ready for this new chapter in his life. He signed with Epic Records in early 2018 and released his first single, “All On Me (featuring Rick Ross).” The song is an ode to triumph and perseverance; something Josh knows all about. “Man, so I’m in Miami. I’m cutting the record—not on pen—all in the booth. I heard the beat and the track has over 60 brass instruments alone!” he says. Immediately he was hooked. “It just came out of me.” The song serves as a fitting introduction for a career a long time in the making. “At that moment, I wanted to show everyone who has been patient waiting for me the man that I’m going to be. This moment is how we’re going to celebrate life. It’s about elevation. It’s about achieving the goals you set for yourself.”In 2019, Josh released his “Piano Confessions” EP to rave reviews followed by the success of his latest single, “I Miss You”. The single topped the Billboard R&B UAC Charts at #20. All in preparation to the upcoming release of “The X Project“. “A blend of that new age R&B with bits of trap-vibes sprinkled throughout, while giving my fans the traditional Josh X sound with records as “One Last Time”. Musically and symbolically, it’s a full-circle for Josh. “I’ve been patient. It’s my time to shine.” CONNECT WITH JOSH X:Website: www.JoshXantus.com Instagram: @JoshXantusTwitter: @JoshXantusFacebook: /JoshXOfficial For more information and news, check out our website at BringBackSoulMusic.com.Support our channel by purchasing merch @ shop.bringbacksoulmusic.comCOPYRIGHT © 2020 Bring Back Soul Music.
What a gorgeous collection of songs this newest Sophisticated Morning is. I start the set out with the heart-tugging acoustic mix of "All On Me" with Andreas Moe on vocals (produced by Armin van Buuren) and then weave my way through warm and emotionally rich morning music before subtly ending up on a sound of gorgeous and uplifting trance music. Have you been following me long enough to have been on my dance floors back in the 1990s? If you have been then you'll know that I have a big love of trance music. And if you haven't been along for the ride with me that long....well, now you know! There are elements of trance in all of the songs towards the beginning of the set and elements of morning music in all of the latter trance pieces -- so the trip is smooth and subtle. These are songs with emotional chords, melodies and rhythms that will pull at your heartstrings no doubt. I hope that you receive as much joy as you listen as I did conceiving the set. As always this DJ mix comes to you with all the love Ive got to give. From my heart...to your ears! #/Artist/Title/Remix 01. Andreas Moe/All On Me/Acoustic 02. Forester/All My Days/Original Mix 03. Together with American Songwriter and Sean Ulbs of The Eiffels, we had the pleasure of interviewing Josh X over Zoom video! "Continue to carry out the legacy of being a musician that represents real music," is what the iconic Stevie Wonder told up and coming singer-songwriter Josh X. Catching the pitch-perfect ear of Stevie Wonder is unheard of for a new artist. Singer/Songwriter Devin Dawson's debut album, "Dark Horse", was one of the most critically acclaimed country albums when it was released in 2018. Although it yielded only one top ten hit, "Put It All On Me", the album's daring mixture of country, rock, americana and even 70s songwriter pop was something different, and introduced a new, gutsy songwriter not afraid to address the vulnerabilities and challenges of being someone off to the side...the Dark Horse. Since then, Devin has toured with Tim McGraw, helped co-write one of 2019's biggest hits, Blake Shelton's God's Country, and along with fellow young songwriters like Hardy and Mitchell Tenpenny, is on the forefront of a new generation of country singer/songwriters who are poised to shift Nashville in a new direction, while still respecting its longstanding traditions. **Heads up: this particular podcast contains a few mild curse words** See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Trevor Startt is a singer-songwriter hailing from Kennesaw, GA. Raised on music ranging from Bruce Springsteen to Motown, “eclectic” is a good word to describe Trevor's sonic sensibility. Some of his earliest memories of listening to music include hearing songwriters like Bruce Hornsby, Mary Chapin Carpenter & Dan Fogelberg while riding in the passenger seat of his dad's 1985 Honda Accord. This foundation greatly influences Trevor's original music along with his vast catalog of cover songs. Trevor has released two new singles in 2019, beginning with “All On Me” in March & “What We Got” in July. You can catch Trevor every weekend at various venues all across Metro Atlanta.
