But of course any movie of whatever quality has many creative souls who contribute to its realization in the world. Lee Purcell, who is one of the well known cast of Almost Summer, has had a most illustrious career since the 1970s. Our interview occurred right on the heels of an anniversary of the movie Valley Girl - in which she plays one of the parents. Featuring Purcell on our show is a real joy as she has had a career in Hollywood for decades and knows more about how movies are made than many. She also had great stories from her life and career. Martin Davidson of course is the director of the film; he also was a filmmaker who was one of the first to feature, among others, Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler in his now classic and famous The Lords Of Flatbush. He has had a long career in Hollywood since the 1970s and was an early forerunner in directing for HBO and other similar networks. Like Purcell, his interview was dense with great stories. Sandy Davidson has had a long career in wardrobe and costume design for movies and television, including Hero At Large with John Ritter, Eddie And The Cruisers with Tom Berenger, and t.v. movies like Something To Live For; The Alison Gertz Story. Additionally she is also accomplished in home and commercial interior design as well, including the world famous (but now defunct) The Foundry On Melrose in Los Angeles. Almost Summer is her first movie. Of course having an episode with all of them is what our podcast is really all about: I am grateful to them for their generosity and contributions. Why am I talking about Summer Break when it's only May? Because you've GOT to take advantage of Summer Break to not only fight the traditional summer slump (you know…the sudden yearly disappearance of all that your young person learned over the past school year) but you've also got to address the Pandemic Backslide too. What is the Pandemic Backslide? Recent research examining the impact of the pandemic on young people reveals that it has set them back by ALMOST A YEAR! Through my interactions with parents over the last year, I've discovered that they are primarily concerned about three things: First, they worry that their young person's learning and grades may not be up to par, making life after high school very difficult. Second, they are concerned about their relationship with their young person, which may not be as strong as they would like it to be. Third, they worry that their young person may not have a healthy relationship with themselves, and that's why we're seeing a HUGE increase in low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression in adolescents. Summer provides a special time when families can slow down and focus on each other; that's why I want to make sure you are planning now to use this summer wisely. It's from the guy who brought you "Hamilton" (the show you couldn't afford to see on Broadway) but this is the film version of the musical in which Usnavi, a sympathetic New York bodega owner, saves every penny every day as he imagines and sings about a better life. Oh what fun. Maybe. Then we've got "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It" which is a scary movie that cost less than "In the Heights" but has made more money. Figure that out. Neil tells us about the latest offering from Disney-Pixar which takes place on the Italian Riviera, where an unlikely but strong friendship grows between a human being and a sea monster disguised as a human. As the weather warms up, foliage increases, and bird counts grow- it's ideal for birders of all ages and experience levels. This month Center Director Chris Lajewski was in-studio talking about opportunities to see some unique species of birds, as well as opportunities to volunteer in a variety of ways. He also discussed the upcoming benefit, which will be held at Wayne Hills Country Club and serves as a major method for funding annual work.

Good Morning Friends, Sorry it has been so long. For the last 7 weeks I have been working out every day, with over 50 workouts clocked at Delta Life Fitness. I am a new huge believer in group fitness for that built in accountability and for the friendships I have created. I am still working out at home, but it is true, I am addicted to my Delta Life classes. Then for the last 8 weeks I have been drinking ketones every day, and honestly, that has changed my life. I went on YouTube some days back and uploaded a video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns0_MT4gdTw&t=5s. I look crazy bloated in this video, but oh well. But business is going great. I have closed on 5 deals so far this year, with 7 on the books, and 4-5+ in the wind. I am exactly where I want to be goal wise, and I tear up every time I think about it. My whole life is right here being laid out in front of me, and it isn't possible for me to be any happier. Life is good. Well I am uploading this mid-workout, and I still have to wake and dress the kids. I hope you have a fan-freaking-tastic day.
