They recently played Bled Fest out in their home state. The lineup featured lots of fantastic bands including, Norma Jean, The Chariot, Every Time I Die, Such Gold, Former Theives and many others. Also on the show is Gunner's Daughter from Chicago, Illinois and Smokejumper from Seattle, Washington. Gunner's Daughter will be releasing a new EP titled, Trust Us When We Tell You, through Death to False Hope Records, sometime in the summer. Smokejumper is taking a small break, but hopefully will start playing again sometime in the summer as well. Their label, Better Half Records, had a team out in this year's Punk Rock Bowling that happened recently. Hope it was a good turn out, heard the shows were amazing. Seattle's all-women garage-rock wrecking crew The Darts kick off their new album cycle with “Midnight Creep,” the first advance single from their upcoming LP Halloween Love Songs, out March 3 on Adrenalin Fix Music. The single drops Tuesday, January 13 and finds the band slipping deeper into the spooky, swagger-heavy garage-trash universe they've been flirting with since day one. If you've ever wished the Back From the Grave comps came with a dance craze, you're already in the right neighborhood. The Darts have spent the last decade carving their name into the global underground with Farfisa-first garage chaos, sold-out shows across Europe, the UK, and North America, and multiple sold-out vinyl runs. They're known for genuine, close-to-the-crowd performances and Nicole's honest connection with the room, a band that brings people into the show and plays from real joy rather than polish. They've landed sought-after KEXP live sessions and hit major festivals like Punk Rock Bowling, Binic Folk and Blues, SJOCK Festival, and Bear Stone Festival, earning fans ranging from Dave Vanian to Stephen King to Jello Biafra. Whole rooms start doing the dance without needing to be shown. It's instinctive, like the ghosts of old 45s are moving people around by the hips. To bottle that energy, they teamed up with Frogman director Anthony Cousins, who shot a gloriously campy video steeped in B-movie mood: basement gloom, creature-feature attitude, and the dance front and center for anyone ready to join the creep. It looks like the lost midnight-movie segment some long-gone TV station forgot to broadcast. Mary Rose Gonzales, known as "Beef," is a Filipino American drummer from Chicago, making waves in the punk and garage rock scenes for over a decade. She currently plays with Bev Rage & The Drinks and will be reuniting with Mystery Actions for a special show at Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas in May 2025. When she's not behind the drums, she works a 9 to 5 at a merchandising photo studio. Outside of music, she enjoys pickleball, playing pool, and fingerboarding.

Former Black Flag singer/guitarist Dez Cadena traces his path from being the son of a jazz record producer to becoming a pivotal figure in the LA punk scene, discussing the records, rare recordings and eyewitness accounts in the formation of LA punk rock culture. But the local artists who've worked to rebuild this“blighted” center weren't exactly pleased with how the party turned out — and when Commissioner Tick Segerblom accidentally hit reply-all, calling the tenants “ungrateful miscreants,” the response reached a fever pitch. Shawn Stern in conversation with David Eastaugh https://punkrockbowling.com/ Youth Brigade has released five studio albums of which the last was released in 1996. Almost each album was recorded with the original lineup of the Stern brothers (Mark, Adam and Shawn); bassist Bob Gnarly replaced Adam in 1985 during the recording of The Dividing Line, which was released as The Brigade. Adam returned in 1991 (when the band reunited) and contributed to the band's 1992 EP Come Again and their next two albums (Happy Hour and To Sell the Truth) before leaving once again in 2007.

It is not everyday you get a chance to speak to someone who inspired you (and many others) as an artist and musician. On today's episode I was joined by Mr. Greg Norton, bass player for influential punk/alternative band, Husker Du.  Husker Du was a powerhouse trio, born out of the Twin Cities in the 1980s. They left an indelible mark on future generations of musicians that still exists today.  Talking to Greg, I felt like we knew each other for years. We talked about Husker Du, his love of cooking and wine, and the birth of his new band, UltraBomb.  UltraBomb is a supergroup consisting of Greg, Finny McConnell (The Mahones), and Jamie Oliver (formerly of UK Subs).  They're just about it hit the road and will be playing the main stage at Punk Rock Bowling later this month!  Check them out! 

Our guest this episode is Jason Freeman, bassist for the band Zeke. Jason has been around Seattle through the thick and thin of it and has made his way through many punk bands in town but Zeke is the king of them. In this conversation we talk about his rural upbringing and Eastern Washington youth all the way up to Zeke's new single, Ride Hard Ride Free. Zeke will be playing Punk Rock Bowling this year with a few SoCal shows tagged on the end of a long weekend run.
