You've seen Mara Roldan in the mix at some of the biggest races this year. She was in the breakaway at her first Amstel Gold Race and managed to finish in top 10. She recently completed her first Grand Tour, the Vuelta España Femenina. Despite a few crashes and injuries, Roldan not only made it to the end of the seven-stage event, she helped her teammates throughout. Yet, it wasn't that long ago that the 21-year-old rider, born in Whitehorse, wasn't really that into road racing.Roldan and her family—parents, twin sister and younger sister—spent about 10 years travelling North America in an RV (a Blue Bird Wanderlodge to be exact). At 13, she entered her first mountain biking race. By 15, she was training seriously, even as her family moved around. The young rider was diligent, making sure to get the workouts done. “It was kind of up to me to find places to train, whether that was on rollers in the back of a Walmart parking lot one night or on a super nice trail system the next night,” she says. “We just tried to make it work where we were because we were obviously never in the same place. It was a challenge, but I think also a really fun part about travelling.”In this episode of the Canadian Cycling Magazine Podcast, Roldan gets into her unique route to the WorldTour, the role of the development team Tag Cycling on her career, as well as the time Alison Jackson likely saved the young rider's life.Archive: Another Canadian has ridden on Roldan's team. From 2016 to 2022, Leah Kirchmann was on the squad based in Sittard, the Netherlands. Check out the feature interview with the Giro stage winner and multi-time national champion. This episode of the Canadian Cycling Magazine Podcast is supported by MS Bike.
Join Rose Manley and Denny Gray as they pick apart all the action from this year's Flèche Wallonne Féminine. After a surprise result for a late breakaway at Amstel Gold Race, everything was to play for at the second race of the Ardennes Classics. Despite a much-hyped expected comeback to the race, seven time winner Anna Van der Breggen didn't take to the startline after suffering from illness last week. But with defending champion Kasia Niewiadoma and 2023 champion Demi Vollering already proving to be in top form this season, the race was set to be fiercely contested. Or could a new champion be announced at the top of the infamous Mur de Huy? Sponsored by Laka The Cycling Podcast's coverage of the spring Classics is supported by Laka. Harry and Stu might come from opposite ends of the UK and sport very different hairstyles, but there's one thing they share a passion for: The Old Lady. Not just any old lady – I'm talking about the fourth monument of the season, Liège–Bastogne–Liège. It's the oldest of all the monuments, and marks the end of the Classics season – and that's what this month's episode of Race Radio is all about: the Ardennes classics. The boys are back with another banger of an episode to get you all hyped up for the Ardennes. These races are usually a bit forgotten about, lost in the shadow of Flanders and Roubaix. But, as always, Harry and Stu's fan's-eye perspective is oozing with enthusiasm that'll get you pumped for these races. Harry's back from the roadside of Flanders and Roubaix, and Stu's gearing up to get himself out to Belgium for Liège. That's what I love about these boys – they're diehard fans that get out on the roadside and soak in the atmosphere at the races, and their passion is absolutely infectious. Here's what Harry had to say about this month's episode of Life In The Peloton's Race Radio: ‘This episode of LITP's Race Radio is all about the Ardennes and it's somewhat of an EF Education-Easypost special, with not one but two guests from the team on the show! First up is punchy young Irish climber Archie Ryan, swiftly followed by the team's not-so-young and punchy DS (and LITP Communiqué regular) Tom Southam. The two tell us what makes these hilly races great, Tom remembers witnessing a live mugging during a recon ride in Liège while Archie dreams of a Ben & Jerry's helmet sponsorship. Enjoy!' My experience with the Ardennes as a rider is limited; in fact, of all the races, I only started Amstel Gold Race once – I was always more of a cobbles man. But, after listening to the boys yarn about these races, I am gee'd up for the Ardennes! I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I do. Cheers, Mitch
We've got a treat for you all this week: Ambassador De Pluski's back on the pod. He joined Luke, who was fresh home from the Amstel Gold Race, where... well, where he got lost. Long story. In one of the most dramatic Classics of the season, Pog didn't win. Remco didn't win. But Matthias Skjelmose did. Chapeau, Sir. Next up for both Luke (in the car) and De Pluski (on the bike) is Liege-Bastogne-Liege this Sunday. Will it be Pogi vs Remco again? Or will De Pluski pull off a wild long-range attack of his own? Who knows. Maybe if he fuels with the Luke Rowe sandwich, he'll be fine. (You'll have to listen for that one to make sense.) G will be back next week. See you then. Want to try NordVPN?
Evenepoel is terug.

Steun Radio Stelvio
In this episode Patrick and Benji recap the 2025 edition of Amstel Gold Race.
Dane Cash and Cosmo Catalano break down all the action from the men's Amstel Gold Race.
Laurens, Stefan en Thomas gaan verder. Wat. Een. Dag.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Laurens, Stefan en Thomas gaan verder. Villa Amstel!

Join Rose Manley and Denny Gray as their European road-trip aka the Tour de France Femmes continues into Belgium. In typical Belgian style stage 4 offered punchy hills, aggressive racing and pouring rain on a parcours that combined climbs from two Ardennes Classics - the Amstel Gold Race and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. With plenty of Classics specialists among the GC contenders the stage certainly offered much to talk about. Plus, Denny's adventures in fromage continued and so did the ongoing all-important debate over whether Belgium should be classed as a “cheese country”.

Gracie, Loren, and Abby call in back up in the form of Matt de Neef to try and figure out what exactly happened on Sunday at the Amstel Gold Race. The shortened race impacted some teams more than others, and a top rider learned a tough lesson.
In this week's regular episode of the The Cycling Podcast, Richard Abraham and Rob Hatch join Daniel Friebe to look back on Sunday's Amstel Gold Race - before Décathlon-AG2R Mondiale stalwart Larry Warbasse reports from his pre-Giro d'Italia altitude camp on Mount Etna. After a challenging start to the season for INEOS Grenadiers, Tom Pidcock's victory in Amstel on Sunday was balm for the British team's morale and confidence. We ask whether it could also be a watershed moment in the Yorkshireman's career - particularly with this year's Tour de France in mind. Larry's eyes and focus are set firmly on the Giro - and, in the last part of the podcast, the “Motown Maestro” reveals how he and team leader Ben O' Connor have built towards ‘La Corsa Rosa'. Dane Cash and Cosmo Catalano discuss just exactly how the men's Amstel Gold Race was won, and how the riders who finished both first and second did lots of things right, whereas the rider whose shadow loomed large at the start only finished 22nd.
Well, day one at the Tour of the Alps was a cracker wasn't it - and after a tasty, attacking finale, G came home sixth, three seconds back on teammate and stage winner Tobias Foss. He jumped straight on the massage table, called up Luke, and gave him the rundown. Meanwhile the boys are fresh from their first alternative commentary with Eurosport - head to @eurosportcycling on Instagram to relive the boys' commentating efforts on the Amstel Gold Race! And after they came off air, INEOS Grenadiers put on a show, setting up Tom Pidcock for his first (well... maybe second) Amstel title. Luke and G analyse that win and look ahead to Fleche and this Sunday's final spring Monument, Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Before that, G's got a few Alpine mountains to summit. Send him your best.
