In the opening take, Lee tries to find out the correct degrees of blame for OU's offensive line being terrible. Then Grant joins to give his thoughts on the offensive line and push back on some of the points Lee made. As much as we didn't want to do this, we do a long segment on the offensive line, previous recruiting classes, Bill Bedenbaugh's coaching ability, and how much blame Lincoln Riley deserves (8:00). Grant says OU being bad is boring. Brent Venables had a long press conference this week that didn't amount to much. We got some injury updates at least, Lee brings up his injury conspiracy theory again, and Grant takes another victory lap over his Jacobe Johnson take from weeks ago (37:15). We do a thought exercise involving OU losing to Maine. No, we don't want OU to lose to Maine. I'm sorry but we really like Curt Cignetti (46:00). What's the most boring result in the OU-Maine game? Grant tells us what he wants to see in this game and he goes all the way in on DeMarco Murray so get your popcorn (55:10). We thank listeners for their 5-star podcast reviews (59:00). SEC talk focuses on Grant laying out why Hugh Freeze should be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame (1:03:50). We make our picks against the spread. Games include Ohio State-Penn State/Ole Miss-Arkansas/Minnesota-Illinois/Oregon-Michigan/Texas A&M-South Carolina (1:10:00). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets

The guys open the show talking about OU's season opener vs. Temple being moved up to Friday, August 30. We also go over some of the other matchups on Labor Day weekend, as well as even more premiere matchups in Week 2 (1:10). Jumping into the Spring Game preview. We're still waiting on a format for the game. Lee wants Jackson Arnold to look really good, but Grant reminds people that sometimes the starting QB doesn't look good in this game. We also talk about the possibility of Arnold throwing a bunch of picks this upcoming season (19:15). We'll be watching for Jovantae Barnes, Kalib Hicks, and Sam Franklin this Saturday. Lee reads into some comments about Franklin (32:00). Grant says Bill Bedenbaugh is tinkering on the offensive line right now. Lee doesn't trust many people's takes on offensive line play in general. Who knows what we will learn from the Spring Game (36:00)? Which WRs will be available for the Spring Game? Everybody will be wanting to see Deion Burks. Bauer Sharp sounds like he is the starting TE. Jake Roberts' brother just committed to Ohio State. Lee has a glass hall full theory about why that happened (45:30). We flip over to the defense and begin with the interior of the defensive line (56:10). Lee wants to talk about P.J. Adebawore's weight and his diet moving forward. Would be cool if R Mason Thomas can stay healthy (59:45). We don't have much on the LBs or the secondary players. We know a lot already about both position groups (1:05:40). Which players do we *not want to see enter the transfer portal* after the Spring Game? Who do we expect to enter the portal (1:09:00)? A listener wants to know the last time OU's offensive line consisted of more high school recruits than transfer players? This leads to more general talk about the offensive line (1:24:00). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets

We start the show with the breaking news that OU men's basketball has missed the NCAA Tournament yet again. The Sooners were the first team out. All the upsets in the conference tournaments ended up pushing OU out of the tourney. Grant has plenty of thoughts on Porter Moser and the program (1:10). Moving over to football by checking in with the official OU spring roster. Lee appreciates the pronunciation guide. The guys go over some players gaining and losing weight, and maybe a little fun with new numbers (21:45). Bill Bedenbaugh is the first non-coordinator OU assistant coach to earn a $1M+ annual salary. A kicker is in the portal, and we give our brief pro day takeaways, and read a question from the WoE Facebook page (34:00). We welcome Lee's friend Jarrod to the show to provide his expert analysis on head coaching hires in college football. They start by explaining what he does and the criteria for grading coaches (44:10). Jarrod hits on some his successful predictions including Sonny Dykes, Rhett Lashlee, Dan Lanning, Lincoln Riley, and more (50:40). Jarrod tells us where he and his staff have gone wrong in the past (57:45). Perhaps some surprising thoughts on new Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer (1:00:15). New Michigan HC Sherrone Moore (1:03:30). Jarrod's team has spent a lot of time on new Washington HC Jedd Fisch (1:05:30). New Mississippi St. head coach Jeff Lebby (1:09:20). New A&M HC Mike Elko (1:13:00). New Houston HC Willie Fritz and new Duke HC Manny Diaz (1:16:45). What about new Boston College HC Bill O'Brien and new Michigan St. HC Jonathan Smith (1:21:10)? Lee wants to know about new MTSU HC Derek Mason (1:26:30). More off the radar new head coaches that the formula really likes (1:28:50). We get some updates on current head coaches that may or may not be on thin ice, starting with Baylor HC Dave Aranda (1:34:00). Jarrod's not liking the prospects of Missouri HC Eli Drinkwitz and Arkansas HC Sam Pittman (1:36:10). How about Deion Sanders at Colorado and Matt Rhule at Nebraska (1:38:00)? Jarrod and his staff did not like the Sark hire at first, but that may have been one of the few misses (1:43:15). Finally, on to Brent Venables. Some of you may not like this part (1:45:30). Despite the staff's thoughts on Venables, Jarrod makes it clear they always root for the Sooners and wnat them to do well (1:52:40). The guys wrap up the show by talking about how low budget this podcast really is (1:56:40).

No opening take today as the guys briefly talk about the sad state of affairs we are dealing with now that college football is over. Zac Alley has been officially announced as OU's new co-DC/LB coach (07:00). Trace Ford is coming back in 2024 (12:00). OU picks up TE Jake Roberts from Baylor and North Texas. Lee watched some of his tape and likes what he sees. Plus this could give OU an edge at recruiting Roberts' younger brother. OU's TE room is already much improved from 2023 (15:45). Casey Thompson is going to be OU's backup QB. Lee watched some Michael Hawkins highlights for the first time (27:00). The offensive line has been a popular topic of late. We go to the WoE Facebook page to read comments about the offensive line. Grant explains what he thinks may be the main gripe from those who are skeptical of OU's offensive line. Lee looks back at all the O-linemen who've been drafted since Bill Bedenbaugh's been at OU. We look ahead to 2024's o-line group (38:00). Will OU have a chance at any of the transfer players from Alabama and Washington? Grant calls Nick Saban's retirement an "earthquake" across college football. The guys agree Kalen DeBoer is an excellent hire for Alabama (1:01:30). Michigan wins the National Championship. Michael Penix did not play well. Grant's kind of jealous of Michigan fans. Why did OU always have to play awesome teams when the Sooners were vying for national titles? Was Washington's running back room somehow worse than OU's group (1:13:15)? Marcus Major is transferring to Minnesota. Will he do anything in the Twin Cities (1:34:25)? The Oklahoma Sooners in the 2025 cycle could be trending for the #1 class and the best class the the OU Football program has ever seen. The Oklahoma Sooners are expected to sign a TOP 5 class in 2024 but they are also landing numerous 2025 guys during this cycle. Its a rough and early list but its one that we can start to take a look at and deep dive into and really see who the Oklahoma Sooners might have a shot at and if OU Football can land a 5 star talent. 2025 Recruits: QB: 4 ⭐️ Kevin Sperry (Committed) RB: 3 ⭐️ Riley Wormley WR: 4 ⭐️ Gracen Harris (Committed) 4 ⭐️ Isaiah Mozee 4 ⭐️ Jaden Nickens 4 ⭐️ Elijah Thomas TE: Marcus James Chase Loftin OT: 5 ⭐️ Michael Fasusi 4 ⭐️ Andrew Babalola Located in Overland Park, KS and I expect as the staff continues to offer kids and get kids on campus, Andrew will become a priority target. 4 ⭐️ Lamon Rogers or 4 ⭐️Ty Haywood IOL: 4 ⭐️ Seuseu Alofaituli Oklahoma has picked up several recruits out of the BG/Nevada area and recently with Jovante Barnes & Jake Taylor in 2022 and if Bill Bedenbaugh can tout his success with lineman in the NFL, OU could have a nice class at the OL. 4 ⭐️ Alai Kalaniuvalu Oklahoma has picked up several recruits out of the BG/Nevada area and recently with Jovante Barnes & Jake Taylor in 2022 and if Bill Bedenbaugh can tout his success with lineman in the NFL, OU could have a nice class at the OL. DL: 4 ⭐️ Ethan Utley 3 ⭐️ Xavier Ukponu I talk to him frequently and I like where OU sits here in this recruitment. Ka'Mori MooreIf Oklahoma was to land Williams Nwaneri and Mozee I would say it would be pretty hard for the talented DL to pass on Oklahoma. Edge: 4 ⭐️ CJ Nickson In state native at Weatherford, OK and with the ties and potential success of Downs. Taken 1 visit to Oklahoma on 6/13 and you would expect that OU would be the front runner here for the in state prospect. 3 ⭐️ Alexander Shieldnight Taken 2 visits to Oklahoma so far but if the staff can load up on in state prospects which Miguel Chavis might have the easiest job in 2025 with 2 ELITE prospects. LB: 4 ⭐️ Kelvion Riggins 4 ⭐️ Christian Thatcher I have spoke with Christian and he has a great relationship with Demarco Murray and he has noted that Ted Roof has been out to visit him in the spring in Vegas. No opening take. We begin the show by hearing from Bill Bedenbaugh and Lee tells you why he doesn't buy into PFF College very much anymore (1:30). It sounds like Andrew Raym will not be playing in the spring game. What, if anything, will we be watching for Saturday when it comes to the O-Line (6:55)? The weather forecast is not ideal for Saturday which could ruin everything (12:25). Grant really wants to see Dillon Gabriel throw it around Saturday. Lee is curious to see Theo Wease and and Jovantae Barnes in action (18:10). Grant's waiting to see all the freshmen pass catchers and is intrigued by the backup QBs (21:50). On defense, we'll be taking a long look at cornerback Kani Walker. What position will Clatyon Smith play? What about Marcus Stripling? Shane Whitter shed some light on the "Cheetah" position on defense and Grant has one last defensive player on his mind (24:05). Lee plays a soundbite from Brent Venables that sounded like he was talking directly to Grant (31:05). Grant explains why Baker Mayfield is arguably the most important player in the history of the OU football program (37:00). Lee's love of Baker has cooled in the past couple of years. Some of Mayfield's recent comments on that podcast were not ideal given what we know about Mayfield's background (45:30). Grant's convinced Mayfield's chance to be one of the top QBs in the NFL is over. The Browns are taking a risk by bringing in Watson -- what if karma is on Mayfield's side (51:10)? Finally we talk about Lincoln Riley's open letter (1:00:00). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9

In the opening take, Lee asks what kind of culture you'd prefer at your favorite school? Then Grant joins the show to scold people for leaving negative reviews on podcasts before Lee asks Grant what he thinks about Bill Bedenbaugh's comments about OU getting "over the hump". How much can we take away from all this talk? Lee tries to explain why he thinks it's reasonable to be more confident in this happy talk compared to previous times when we've heard positive talk from OU's staff (7:45). Let's talk "culture" at OU. Yes, we use the word "soft". Did Lincoln Riley's team *really* get worse each season (21:40)? DeMarco Murray called Eric Gray the most explosive player on OU's offense. Why didn't he get used more, again (30:05)? OU's assistants have a ton of awesome things to say about Brent Venables. Hear from Cale Gundy, Brandon Hall, and DeMarco Murray. Venables has made change, and it sounds like it's for the better (35:20). Does new co-DC Todd Bates look like Hannibal Buress? He updates us on his new position group. Has Lee lost his love of guys who say they watch a bunch of tape (55:20)? Will new cornerbacks coach Jay Valai be the guy to finally get OU's corners playing up to the standard we want them to (1:00:00)? The last coach we hear from is Miguel Chavis. This guy loves everything. And sounds like he's a star (1:04:15). Everything sounds so good. Grant wants to know what we're missing here? Grant also loved Brent Venables on Gabe Ikard & Teddy Lehman's podcast (1:09:40). The spring game is set for April 23. Baker Mayfield will get his statue dedicated. Is it possible to sell out the spring game? Will Lincoln Riley show up for Mayfield's statue dedication (1:22:20)? Spencer Rattler's took a shot at Lincoln Riley last week (1:26:00). We go to the WoE Facebook page to read your comments and questions (1:30:25). Finishing up with our limited comments on the NFL Combine and OU men's basketball tries to save their season Thursday against Baylor (1:34:00). Sooners fall camp 2021 talk| 2 things that can cost OU a natty & 2 things that if they are done Oklahoma wins a natty | breakout players predicted| 5-star recruiting talk with OU hot on recruiting trail! 00:00 - OU football is BACK! Not ready to crown them just yet, but lots of positives from Lincoln Riley, Alex Grinch, Bill Bedenbaugh, and Calvin Thibodeaux so far (and if you didn't know, it has just been 4 practices, now 6 so temper excitement, per Coach Bedenbaugh)! 05:00 - OU defense just looks physically different than anyone can truly remember. We name the guys that stood out in our 20-25 minutes at practice on Tuesday. 10:00 - Things coaches have said that have piqued our interest and why. Also, what else did we take away from our minimal time with practice viewing? 16:00 More on what the staffers have said on position battles and our thoughts on those battles. The offensive tackle position talk; the center position seems Andrew Raym's to lose, and young guys are pushing the older returnees for playing time. Who do we think will play? 30:00 - Why Brandon thinks the wide receiver position is pivotal for OU's success this year. He dives into consistency being the key after nine dropped TD's, and then the OUinsider staff transitions into two things OU can't have happen if they want to win the national title. 1:00:00 - Safety position talk: The staff talks about a topic that OUinsider VIP Board members do not like, and that the two returning starters are underrated (Pat Fields and Delarrin Turner-Yell) and deserve respect on their names for their leadership and the fact they keep holding off players more athletically gifted over and over. The real question is the depth at safety, and the OUinsider staff thinks that is as good and deep as it has been in years. 1:04:00 - Also, two things that OU HAS TO HAPPEN for the Sooners to win a national title. OUinsider staff -- and Collin in particular -- goes on a rant for why he thinks the Sooners win the national title in the 2021 season first. The podcast self-proclaimed "realist" is stepping out and saying why he thinks this is OU's year! He finishes his two reasons why OU wins the natty, and the rest of the staff follows with their two reasons why Oklahoma wins it all in 2021. Collin does go off on why Spencer Rattler is the most undervalued preseason Heisman frontrunner he can remember. Due to his spring play, the Caleb Williams buzz has been interesting this off-season to follow with a returner and possible top-5 pick back for OU. Parker thinks Marvin Mims, Mike Woods, and most specifically, Austin Stogner go off in 2021. Defensively, Parker says a lockdown corner has to emerge and explains why with solid players at the position in 2021 like DJ Graham, Woodi Washington, Latrell McCutchin, Jaden Davis, and Justin Harrington. Brandon says the QB room has to stay healthy. Depth is great with the first two in Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams, but it gets a bit dicey after that. He calls for a bold prediction that there will be two players with 10+ sacks in 2021. The staff breaks down how possible that is and comes up with two players, with 8 sacks being the happy medium. Really solid discussion all the way around there. 1:20:00 - Perrion Winfrey or Jalen Redmond as first-rounders? Who is most likely? Staff is separated on that—all three with good reasons for their choice between the two. 1:30:00 One player on offense and one on defense that will have a surprise year. Staff each name their two guys. 1:40:00 - The rest of the podcast is ALL recruiting talk... 2:07:00 - Staff talks FREE DAY for non-members to checkout OUInsider at NO COST on August 16th! In the opening take, Lee thinks the national media will give OU the benefit of the doubt right now -- but that's not going to last long. Then Grant joins to talk about how he's way more excited for football than he was last season. Also Lee talks about going to OU practice Tuesday morning, and is it just us or has OU's social media been putting out way more videos than usual (4:05)? It looks like some guys are much bigger and the Sooners decided to put a very large person in No. 44 this year (13:15). Bill Bedenbaugh talks Andrew Raym -- and he might be really, really good. Plus, Bedenbaugh couldn't be more pleased with where is O-Line group is through 4 days of fall camp (16:35). Grant has a story about the 2008 OU football team being a National Championship contender that makes him think of the current team (25:50). More news and notes from the offensive line. Who's playing where (34:30)? Theo Wease, Jadon Haselwood, and Austin Stogner are all healthy and good to go (36:20). Grant liked what Marvin Mims had to say on Media Day about the depth of pass catchers on OU. Grant says the ceiling of this offense is absurd (40:15). Mike Woods is expected to be an immediate impact player (43:30). Alex Grinch's Media Day press conference was kind of boring, but he did say one thing that caught our attention. Get ready for a long talk about the "unique depth" on the Sooners' D-Line (45:40). Grant predicted when OU/Texas would officially announce they were heading to the SEC. And we begin with a listener question about OU's first opponent Tulane, and when the Sooners will "change the narrative" that they're not good enough for the SEC (53:55)? Another listener wants to know if OU fans will ever chant "SEC!" (1:01:10)? Another listener wants to know if the SEC will do Divisions or "Pods" when OU and Texas join? Grant wants A&M to be in the same pod as OU and Texas, but Lee understands why they may mix those teams up (1:05:55). At the end Lee mentions a recent story about "pausing" CFP expansion and Grant gets on his soap box about games being scheduled 20 years in the future (1:15:30). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9

On today’s podcast we put together the thoughts and ideas of 10 college and pro offensive line coaches on how they build the culture within their offensive line unit. Each has a different aspect that they focus on in building the chemistry of this important position group. Matt Jones is currently at the University of Tennessee - Martin. He is the creator of the highly popular #LinemenLunch. He shared his though on how accountability, discipline, and being physical are an important part of building the unit. Joe Ashfield is currently at Rice University. He discussed building the culture at Rice and how it takes time to get buy-in, that you have to grow together, and put your players in positions to lead. Herb Hand is one of the best in the business and talked to us while he was at Auburn, and currently is the offensive line coach at Texas. For Hand, understanding shared accountability, trust, are important to building a strong culture in the unit. For him it is about having high standards and being demanding that those are met. Jonathan Himebauch joined us while he was coaching for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He is now the offensive line coach for the XFL Tampa Bay Vipers. He shared his ideas on how it is about being a part of something bigger, creating five as one, and how he goes about nicknaming the unit. Cody Kennedy is the offensive line coach at Tulane and joined us prior to the 2019 season. Kennedy talks about clear standards, positive interaction, communication, camaraderie, and connection as important components that build a culture. Bart Miller of the Wyoming Cowboys joined us on the “Home Team” Series and discussed how to measure of discipline, standards, and having “our” way of doing things. He stressed the importance of the caring of the coach. Sam Parker helped lead Ferris State to an NCAA Division II runner-up in 2018. He talked about developing the role on the team as guardians, offensive line mindset, and how they watch the game and practice which is a big part of their culture and success. Oklahoma has been one of the top FBS offenses over the last several years and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh and his unit are a big part of the success. He discusses the expectations of the OL Coach, recruiting the guys who fit, and most importantly how this has to be about more than football. Doug Patterson has been the offensive line coach at St. Cloud State University since 2007. He shares his thoughts on how learning is a part of their culture and his expectations for how he want the O-Line to do “homework” assignments while watching film, creating interaction, and building ownership of the players. Coach “Hoss” Jason Houghtaling is now the head coach at FCS Wagner University. His background is in offensive line and he talks about bing one unit, how execution is a big part of culture, the hands, eyes, feet cycle, base fundamentals, communication, understanding why and how you do things.

In the opening take, Lee looks back at the past in order to set the stage for Saturday's contest at UCLA. Then Grant joins as we both become concerned that football season is already coming to an end (4:00). We've got some Kenneth Mann and Marquis Hayes injury updates and what they mean for this week (5:45). Lee was in Norman Tuesday to see Bill Bedenbaugh say some harsh words about the state of the Sooners' offensive line (10:00). We begin previewing UCLA by highlighting the Bruins' ineptitude on offense. I mean, they're really bad (17:30). There's an awkward transition because of technical difficulties, but we get back to talking about UCLA's horrible offense beginning with what's up with Chip Kelly (20:10)? Here's what to expect from UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson (31:15). Is South Dakota's offensive line better than UCLA (36:10)? UCLA has its starting RB in the lineup again, plus the Bruins have one random guy that scares Grant (38:30). Alex Grinch and Chip Kelly have a history (42:00). We try to go quick on OU's offense against UCLA's defense (43:25). We finish up the UCLA talk by saying what we *want* to see happen Saturday (49:00) followed by what *will happen* (53:25). In the opening take, Grant essentially crosses off two teams from the list of 2019 contenders. Then Lee joins and makes the mistake of asking Grant about the Miami-Florida game (3:45). We begin with predicting who will be the 3rd running back behind Kennedy Brooks and Trey Sermon -- even though Grant didn't understand the question (7:15). We both think CeeDee Lamb is going to be the top WR, so we predict which true freshman pass catcher will have the most impact (10:55)? Grant takes a flyer on who's going to lead the Sooners in tackles this season (15:05). Who's going to have the most sacks in 2019 (19:45)? Back to the offense selecting the most important player besides Jalen Hurts, plus Bill Bedenbaugh had an Erik Swenson update last week (22:00). We each choose a pass catcher for our sleeper impact player on offense (26:50). The guys go to the defensive line for their sleeper impact players on defense (29:15). Which true freshman will have the most impact on offense (33:00)? Grant goes to the secondary and Lee chooses a linemen for true freshman defensive impact player (37:15). It's actually difficult to determine a "trap game" for the Sooners and the guys each have different selections (40:40). Let's get creative as we describe OU's worst case scenario (48:00) and best case scenario for the 2019 season (53:40). Time to predict the Sooners' final regular season record (59:00). Switching to Big 12 topics. Which team is underrated heading into the season (1:00:45)? Lee picks the same overrated Big 12 team that he picked last year at this time, while Grant goes with a crowd pleaser (1:03:00). Grant's got a somewhat bold Big 12 Championship Game prediction (1:07:00). Grant takes over hosting the pod as we move to the national scene. The guys bring up some interesting schools when talking about overrated teams (1:07:50). Grant's got a Big Ten team as his most underrated team (1:14:30). The guys agree on the Heisman winner, although they throw out almost every QB in the nation with a pulse and do our best to throw cold water on Justin Herbert (1:18:40). Let's pick each Power 5 conference champion (1:25:45). Lee's Playoff picks are boring, while Grant takes a big swing with one of his four teams (1:30:10). It's time to pick a national champion and you know who we're going to take (1:34:00). Finishing off with some preseason storyline that we may or may not agree with (1:35:55) and picking between Fowler/Herbstreit or Johnson/Klatt broadcast teams (1:37:40). In the opening take, Grant outlines the main position battles you need to pay attention to at Sooners fall camp. Then Lee joins to talk about Nate Hybl and the 2002 Big 12 Champoinship game (8:55). Kyler Murray and Lincoln Riley don't seem to be on the same page as Murray's agent (11:55). Lee has a possibly crazy theory as to why OU is not publicly saying this is Murray's final year playing football (19:15). Starrland Baldwin will miss the season (23:00). Rodney Anderson and a couple other notable players were limited Monday at practice, but this doesn't seem to be a big deal (25:10). Lee was at practice Monday and he offers a few observations that stood out to him (28:35). It's weird that we're all kind of overlooking Trey Sermon, and Grant has a super interesting theory about Sermon's possible role this year (30:15). The guys discuss the center position battle because they disagree on who will win the job (34:20). Quick sidebar to talk about Orlando Brown's nice performance in the Hall of Fame Game (36:15). Lee got a chance to talk with Cody Ford on Monday and asked him about that rotation with Bobby Evans, and Ford's transition from guard to tackle (37:50). Grant triggers Lee by mispronouncing Bill Bedenbaugh's name which leads to Lee ranting about people getting Marcus Mariota's name wrong (43:30). Twitter is telling Grant that Drake Stoops looks impressive and the guys breakdown a video tweeted by OU Football (46:45). In the opening take, Lee has an update on the OU secondary position battles heading into fall camp and brings up one question that hasn't fully been answered yet. Then, Grant joins to talk briefly about Baker Mayfield's positive training camp so far with the Browns (6:10). Grant describes an unfortunate story that dominated OU's "ChampU BBQ" over the weekend (9:50). Shifting back to the Sooners' secondary as Lee explains why he's not thrilled about the idea of a base Nickel defense. Grant tells us how a Nickel defense could be a good thing (18:30). Grant is puzzled by the strong safety position battle, while Lee tries to provide a little context (24:05). Lee isn't concerned about the safety positions because DBs switch positions all the time and OU's got a lot of talent back there (28:00). What about the cornerbacks? Kerry Cooks says something that all OU fans probably thought last year and Grant loves himself some Tre Brown (30:40). Bill Bedenbaugh provides some clarity on Bobby Evans and Cody Ford's roles at each tackle position (32:50). So, when is Bill Bedenbaugh going to get a head coaching job offer (38:50)? Calvin Thibodeaux has some very honest words about Neville Gallimore and the guys talk more about the defensive line as a whole (40:00). Tim Kish confirms that Curtis Bolton is definitely competing for a starting job and more linebackers talk (46:50). We begin the "Listener Question" segment with an inquiry about Marcelias Sutton's role on this team (51:30). The guys give reasons why the defense could be better than last year (55:40). Is Bookie a better player at CB or at safety (59:45)? Any threat that Austin Kendall transfers if/when Murray wins the starting QB job (1:01:30)? Going over the best case and worst case scenarios for OU's 2018 season (1:04:30). We do an early CFP prediction and Grant has a surprising pick (1:12:45). Finally, the guys discuss whether this is a do or die season for Mike Stoops (1:21:40)? | Email the show: westofeverest@gmail.com | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9
