John Vella was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Growing up in Detroit, John found a passion for sports, especially baseball. By the time he was 15 the passion for sports was still there but a new passion started.... Creative writing! John began writing short stories, poems & lyrics & was encouraged by several of his teachers to continue to pursue his passion. After high school he continued to casually write but spent several years working in the furniture business before spending over 20 years as a maintenance man for a church in metro Detroit. During that time he married & became a father to his son John. John taught his son to play sports and became manager of his son's little league baseball team for 7 years. After getting divorced in 2014 and his son was almost out of high school, John began writing more seriously. He attended a horror film convention and connected well with a number of the actors. Yes, horror films were also his passion. A few months later John saw a casting call for The Dark Below & submitted. He was cast the next day and had his first acting experience as an extra working side by side the 3 lead actors, including actress Veronica Cartwright. John never looked back & started doing more background work eventually auditioning & getting cast in supporting roles on indie films. Over the next 2 years John started getting lead roles on indie films while also doing background work on several major productions including Little Evil, My Friend Dahmer, and more. In 2016 John finally put his writing skills to work co-writing the horror/comedy films Snuff and Simon Slays. John continued to progress in the film industry and by 2017 he was establishing himself as an actor, writer, producer, & director. Cemetery Stories is his first film as a director and John plans to continue writing, directing, and producing, mostly horror films, while continuing his career as an actor.

A darkly comedic tribute to the much-loved Reader's Digest series ‘I am Joe's…(insert body part here)' and a bizarre parody of the Bruce Jenner story, I Am Joe's Unwanted Penis is told from the point of view of a penis thoughtlessly discarded as a man is surgically transformed into a woman. Upon learning of his high-profile previous owner's regret at having made the transformation, the penis embarks upon a perilous journey for them to be reunited - aided and abetted by a motley, wonderfully personable, and engaging selection of other discarded body parts. In parts grotesque, laugh-out-loud funny, and undeniably poignant, in others, I Am Joe's Unwanted Penis is a buddy story absolutely like no other!I have three novels out in 2016; the skin-crawling, creature horror; ‘‘Pede' (published by Black Bed Sheet Books), ‘The Erotic Odyssey of Colton Forshay' (a bizarro style fantasy, Fat Lip Press June 21, 2016), ‘And Then You Die' – a particularly grotesque horror/bizarro story (published by J Ellington Ashton - TBA), and in 2017, ‘Flanagan' - a psychosexual horror (Sinister Grin Press). In addition, there are the short stories; (‘Winning & Losing') published in The Ripple Effect (Horrified Press), ‘Road Trip Bingo' (Black Bed Sheet Books' anthology 'Bumps in the Road'), ‘The Five Towns Pageant' (J Ellington Ashton ‘Full Moon Slaughter', Halloween 2016), ‘Zombie Hooker: A Love Story (Fat Lip Press ‘Carnival of Gore' anthology 2016) and ‘Trophy Wife' (The Creeps magazine, date TBA).I write screenplays and currently have three under option (a spine-chilling horror, a Tarantino-esque crime caper and an animated family movie). In 2014 I was commissioned by Spectra Records to write a biopic feature on the early life of Bob Marley and was a writer for hire on the Kenyan sitcom ‘The Samaritans. As if that weren't enough, I have written and directed a bunch of short movies, winning Best Director in the 2013 Splatterfest film competition and Remi awards at Houston's Worldfest Film Festival in 2012, 2014 and 2015.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. Abandoned on the snow-covered, icy banks of the Ohio River, left there by a clan of otherworldly fiends who could no longer bear the incessant whining of the most unusual infant, Terry “Horns” Erwin was delivered on a dark and stormy and cold December night in the same month and year the Satanic Bible was first published..1969 (frightened yet?). Well, maybe it wasn't storming, and factually it was a nearby Cincinnati hospital, but for the purpose of sounding cooler he would like us to entertain it to be so. Born under the sign of the Goat, this rebellious soul started writing fiction at an early age. His very first short story “The Sad Dragon”, written in the wild, jungle gym confines of primary school, won a prestigious blue ribbon award and infected him with the proverbial bug he'd later in life come to discover had burrowed deep within the core of his brain and cocooned there, waiting to mature and eventually claw out in one fierce, gore-splattered evening in 1999. By then the monstrous creature of sinister creativity had grown and become a thing of unstoppable, dark ideas that continues to this day to spew its horror on the written page. Feasting over the long years on a steady diet of horror books, slasher films, and metal music, it's no wonder the content of the beast within has led him to pen some of the creepiest, most shocking tales known to mankind. HORNS lives in Norwood, Ohio. He is a member of the Horror Writers Association and has written numerous novels and works, such as STATIONHOUSE NO. 1, and CHOPHOUSE and CHOPHOUSE 2. His stories have appeared in caboodles of books and magazines and Internet sites. At times he can be one of those pesky horror trivia guys who knows things that make some scratch their heads and roll their eyes. He is an animal rights enthusiast.
Born in Chicago and transplanted to South Florida, Joey Ruiz originally was part of the family business selling cars at his Father's dealership. He retired at 40 to pursue his passion for auctions which led him to become a state certified auctioneer. Not one for being idle, Ruiz opened his own antiques and collectibles shop called Wayback When where the running theme of the shop is a celebration of nostalgia. From the video game museum to horror props and memorabilia, children of the 50's-90's rediscover their childhood with each visit as current children are taught not only about toys of the past but learn the foundations of becoming a collector. Joey never forgets the lessons of his own upbringing and advice passed to him by his Dad over the years and has a soft spot for veterans and aspiring artists. Vets are treated with utmost respect including honorary seats at shop related parties, while the aspiring artist regardless the genre and material is always offered a free space to promote and share their craft to the public. These endeavors have led to both Ruiz and the shop to be recognized by the city of Margate Florida in 2019.

Sue Dent began publishing in 2005 by self-publishing her debut novel Never Ceese, the first in her Thirsting for Blood Series, after working with professional editor Arlene Robinson. In 2006 Dent solicited and secured a traditional publisher. That same year, Never Ceese made the Bram Stoker Preliminary Ballot for Superior Achievement in a First Novel, a legitimate and official accomplishment. Dent was picked up by another traditional publisher in 2009 who published Forever Richard, the second book in Dent’s Thirsting for Blood Series. It showed up on the 2009 British Fantasy Society’s long-list. In 2010, Dent joined forces with Nicholas Grabowsky of Black Bed Sheet Books. The latter published her stand-alone novel Electric Angel that was reviewed by Maryann Boo of the British Fantasy Society. The initial two-word review was deemed too short to publish; “Simply Brilliant.” The settled on review can be found on the British Fantasy Society's website along with a review of Forever Richard. Dent has since published the third book in her Thirsting for Blood Series Cyn No More under S D Enterprises and is months away from the fourth book Penny for Your Thoughts.

"My life changed when I read Dracula at age 10 and then again when I saw Star Wars at 13. Telling true stories came much later, but to me, it’s all interconnected. My latest book, Tales for the Camp Fire: A Charity Anthology Benefiting Wildfire Relief, came out in May 2019. Northern California’s horror writers came together to raise money for survivors of last year’s devastating wildfire. Contributors include Nancy Etchemendy, Dana Fredsti, Ross Lockwood, Erika Mailman, Gene O’Neill, and more. It was my honor to serve as editor for the project. 199 Cemeteries to See Before You Die guidebook to cemeteries around the world, came out in a gloriously illustrated full-color hardcover from Black Dog & Leventhal Books in October 2017. The UK edition was published in paperback by Sphere Books. Part cemetery history, part travel memoir Wish You Were Here: Adventures in Cemetery Travel collects my essays from Gothic.Net, Morbid Outlook, Eleven Eleven, and Morbid Curiosity magazine, alongside pieces written specifically for the book. The revised second edition was published by Automatism Press in July 2017. My space opera trilogy In The Wake of the Templars — The Dangerous Type, Kill By Numbers, and No More Heroes — were published by Night Shade Books in 2015. Publishers Weekly said the trilogy brought grimdark to space opera. Lost Angels, the first book in the As Above, So Below series, is the story of the succubus Lorelei, who pursues the angel Azaziel, only to find herself possessed by a mortal girl’s ghost. That first novel, co-written with Brian Thomas, was originally published by Black Bed Sheet Books under the title As Above, So Below. A revised second edition came out in April 2016 as Lost Angels, published by Automatism Press. A sequel called Angelus Rose is in the works. Between 1996 and 2006, I edited the cult nonfiction magazine Morbid Curiosity. I still believe curiosity is a radical, transformative trait. Morbid Curiosity Cures the Blues: True Stories of the Unsavory, Unwise, Unorthodox, and Unusual a collection of some of my favorite essays drawn from the magazine was published by Scribner in 2009. My travel essays have appeared on Mental Floss, The Daily Beast, GothicBeauty.com, as well as darkening the pages of Search magazine, two Traveler’s Tales books, and the anthology Pills, Thrills, Chills, and Heartache: Adventures in the First Person (edited by Clint Catalyst and Michelle Tea). I explore graveyards as travel destinations regularly at CemeteryTravel dot com. My short fiction has been anthologized in Best New Horror #27, Strange California, The Haunted Mansion Project: Year One, Sins of the Sirens: 14 Tales of Dark Desire, and nEvermore!: Tales of Murder, Mystery, and the Macabre. My stories have appeared most recently in the magazines Occult Detective Quarterly, Space & Time, and Weirdbook.
"Singer. Songwriter. Actor. Artist. Writer. Poet. Dreamer." Is there anything this guy can't do? For this special bonus summer episode, I had the absolute honour of talking to Chuck W. Chapman about his upcoming novel Family Man: The Unreal Story of Charles Manson's Right-Hand Man, an incredible alternate take (or is it?) on the infamous 'Manson Family Murders' at Cielo Drive. Nicholas Grabowsky's novels of horror/fantasy and mainstream pulp fiction, both as himself, as Nicholas Randers, and as Marsena Shane, have generated worldwide acclaim for over two decades and praised by many of today's most popular horror gurus in the literary world. He began his career in traditional publishing houses with brisk sellers in mass market paperback horror and romance, and in the last two decades is seen by many as a mentor to many authors and the smaller presses, which has become to him a passion. His body of work includes the award-winning macabre aliens-among-us epic The Everborn, The Rag Man, Pray Serpent's Prey, Halloween IV (and its special edition), Diverse Tales, Reads & Reviews, The Wicked Haze, Sweet Dreams Lady Moon, June Park, and Red Wet Dirt, numerous anthologies, magazine articles, and self help books, with projects extending to screenplays, poetry, songs, film, and a wide variety of short fiction and nonfiction since the 1980's.
