Brendan Allen has won seven straight but lacks a marquee win. What's next for the Louisiana middleweight? Let's look at that as well as what else UFC Vegas 90 has to offer! Chapters: 0:00 1:01 Brendan Allen has a tough night with Chris Curtis 10:25 Damon Jackson has a new W and hairline 13:23 Morgan Charriere is not elite 18:22 Ignacio Bahamondes' highlight KO Brendan Allen extended his win streak to seven straight while avenging his last loss to Chris Curtis. The fight was a close affair with back and forth action that capped off a fairly decent event that was UFC Vegas 90. Brendan Allen survived being hurt several times and ground out a win that will put his eyes forward looking for that marquee win to give him a title shot. Chris Curtis took this fight on short notice and showed out all the same. We got his usual body work, his awesome boxing and his toughness. But at the end of the day, we needed a winner and that winner was Brendan Allen. Alexander Hernandez is a notorious quitter. He took on Damon Jackson who was sporting an all new hair line, and Hernandez showed some heart in this fight. After being controlled by Damon Jackson for most of the fight, Alexander Hernandez managed to knock down Damon Jackson in the third round. Alexander Hernandez is explosive and has struggled with heart in the past. While he lost this fight, he showed improvements. Morgan Charriere has a lot of hype on him for someone with a 19-9-1 record. He took on Chepe Mariscal and lost the decision. He had his moments, sure, but Morgan Charriere couldn't deal with the pressure and wrestling of Chepe Mariscal. At the end of the segment I question if Morgan Charriere will be a significant fighter or a cult favorite. Lastly, we will talk about Ignacio Bahamondes knocking out Christos Giagos in the first round. 6'3” and lanky as it comes, Ignacio Bahamondes is an incredibly interesting fighter. He switches stances, has fantastic finishes, but is there to get hit. The fight with Christos Giagos was no exception. With his win, Ignacio Bahamondes lives to fight another day. Maybe in the Sphere in Vegas, as he called out in his post fight speech.

With Matt Serra out for the day, Jim Norton is joined by MMA writer John Morgan for an episode of UFC Unfiltered that sees the guys talk to welterweight Alex Morono and bantamweight Dan Argueta ahead of their fights on Saturday's UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Curtis 2. Looking to maintain his trend of never losing back-to-back fights, Morono opens his interview by reflecting on some stories from his early MMA career — including what it was like to get bit during a fight by his opponent. Then, Alex discusses his mindset going into his 20th UFC fight and breaks down what he thinks about Saturday's fight against a fellow veteran like Court McGee before wrapping things up by talking about what it's like to drive back-and-forth across Texas between the gym he owns in Houston and Dallas' Fortis MMA where he gets coached up by Sayif Saud. When Alex leaves, Jim and John then take a look at this Saturday's card, with some thoughts on the middleweight rematch between Brendan Allen and Chris Curtis in the main event. Finally, Dan Argueta joins the show — Jim and John open the interview by getting the 30-year-old bantamweight to open up on what it's felt like having his two most recent fights end in a no contest. Argueta then shares what Cub Swanson's guidance has meant for him in his career before wrapping up his interview by unpacking the stakes of Saturday's matchup against a hungry fighter in Jean Matsumoto making his UFC debut.

Bloody Elbow fight experts, Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado, are here tonight – Sat, Sep. 18th., 2021, to breakdown the UFC Vegas 37: ‘Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann' event, which was broadcast from the cozy confines of the Apex Center in Las Vegas, NV. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. After undergoing only one fight cancellations for this card, the UFC featured a mega 14-bout event with a Light Heavyweight showdown in the main event of tonight's Fight Night card. The main event featured fight veteran, former Strikeforce and Bellator alum, number 6-ranked, Anthony ‘Lionheart' Smith, who was sporting a 35-16 record, and former Legacy Fighting Alliance Light Heavyweight Champion, the number 11-seeded, Ryan ‘Superman' Spann with his 19-6 record. For the co-main event, we had a Light Heavyweight brawl between Ion ‘The Hulk' Cutelaba and Devin ‘Brown Bear' Clark. Cutelaba, the Moldovan Greco-Roman Wrestler, coming off a win to Magomed Anaklaev back at UFC 254, would face off against the ‘Brown Bear' from South Dakota, a former NJCAA Wreslter, who was entering the octagon on a two-fight losing skid. Also on the card, we had a Lightweight bout between Arman ‘Ahalkalakets' Tsarukyan and Christos ‘The Spartan' Giagos, a Bantamweight bout between Nate ‘Mayhem' Maness and Tony Gravely, as well as some noteworthy prelims battles including a Welterweight bout between the impressive brawler, Carlston ‘Moçambique' Harris and Impa ‘Tshilobo' Kasanganay, and a Flyweight bout between up-and-comers Hannah ‘24K' Goldy (Goldschmidt) and Emily ‘Spitfire' Whitmire. Notable Outcomes: Both Tsarukyan and Maness walked away with POTN bonuses tonight thanks to their KO/TKO victories over Giagos and Gravely. Harris pummeled Kasanganay for an upset victory and Goldy armbarred Whitmire; both in the first rounds of their prelim bouts. Overall, this now 14-bout card saw four exhilarating first round finishes (including our Main Event), five impressive KO/TKO's, two sweet submissions (including our Main Event), and six hard-fought decisions. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Anthony Smith, Arman Tsarukyan, Nate Maness, and Joaquin Buckley; FOTN honors went to no one tonight. What a great night of fights we have to share with you, join us to discuss all the action... Our compilation show is a deep dive with host, Trent Reinsmith, into the bigger news and goings on in MMA, both inside and outside the cage; presented with a critical, unbiased eye. Here is some detail on what’s going on here... the “regular” ‘C’mon Now MMA Podcast’ is a daily podcast of varying lengths, which can be found here: cmonnow.substack.com/. This show, however, is a compilation of some of the best topics covered on the daily show over the past week. UFC 262 Recap: 1. Sean Soriano looks good, but Christos Giagos scores a nice win 2. Tucker Lutz has a good UFC debut, but there were some concerning moments in the third round 3. Priscila Cachoeira takes advantage of an opportune standup and a gassed Gina Mazany 4. Andrea Lee got a good win, but the long length of time she had the triangle locked in was worrisome 5. Jordan Wright bounces back from his first career loss in a big way 6. Lando Vannata looked solid in his UFC featherweight debut 7. Andre Muniz was a better grappler than Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at least for this night; and should we look at whether or not we’ve seen the last of Souza in the UFC? 8. Edson Barboza’s career, and an impressive win over Shane Burgos 9. Clearing up something re: brain injuries, just because a fighter doesn’t go out doesn’t mean they did not suffer a concussion 10. Did Beneil Dariush make Tony Ferguson look bad or did Tony Ferguson make Beneil Dariush look good; and where each fighter could go from here 11. Charles Oliveira is your new UFC lightweight champion and maybe this will earn the Brazilian some respect and allow him to put his reputation as a front-runner behind him 12. Should the UFC use a commentary team for the prelims and a different team for the main card? 13. Dana White is ready to bury Jon Jones and move on without him instead of paying him what he wants and what he deserves More from the Daily C’mon Now MMA Podcast: 1. Dana White tries to stay out of politics, say what?!?!?! 2. MMA management and the issues with management representing many clients in the same weight division 3. The questions about Jorge Masvidal’s shirt aren’t about cancel culture, but about accountability among the fighters and media 4. Dana White doesn’t get to tell anyone what real media and fake media is, if he’s giving “exclusive” interviews to characters and fans 5. The middleweight title fight is a perfect example of what’s wrong with the UFC business practices – when the date is more important than the fighter 6. Why do people think Ali Abdelaziz would be a good manager for Jon Jones? He wouldn’t be. The 'Legacy Fighting Alliance' REALLY blew the doors off on Friday with their '107th' card. Six fights on the Main card, five finishing in a spectacular finish! Taylor Mauldin opened things up, making her pro debut and hitting a nasty kneebar! Jordan Heiderman and Allan Begosso both got sumbmissions (arm triangle & guillotine). BUT, Ricardo Dias knee was felt around the arena, pinpoint accuracy and impeccable timing got him the night stopping finish. And in the main were two 'Dana White Contender Series' alumni in Kamuela Kirk & Daniel Swain. Kirk put on a standout performance, maybe his best we've seen to date. His diverse attacks and power were too much for a tough as nails Swain (who nearly grab a couple of submissions) and the fight got stopped before the 3rd. The 'UFC' PPV's in 2021 have been incredible and Saturday's'262' was no exception! Out of the twelve fights on deck, there were three submissions and FOUR TKO's! Again, the first fight was absolutely fire, Sean Soriano was back in the promotion and he was looking sharp as hell. BUT, all it takes is one mistake, Christos Giagos took advantage of a rushed armbar attempt. Locking up a d'arce for the win! Priscila Cachoeira after being dominated, came back with a vengeance. Andrea Lee grabbed an armbar with 8 seconds left in the 1st. And like Lil Kim, Jordan Wright had 'No Time', unleashing voilence to end the night in a minute! Lando Vannata's featherweight debut was on point to say the least. AND André Muniz did the unthinkable, with his submission of the legend!!! If you want to know want the personification of violence is, then watch the Shane Burgos & Edson Barboza three round scrap. No one saw that ending, but definitely a hard fought win for Barboza. In the Co-main Beneil Dariush unequivocally let cats know, he is in the conversation!!! AND, then, with the Main event we knew we'd be getting a new Lightweight Champion. And this fight had it all, near finishes, submission attempts. It left everyone on the edge of their seat. Charles Oliveira didn't wilt and went from nail to hammer, finishing things 19 seconds into the 2nd round, AndNew!!! So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 188) @ChinCheckPod - LFA 107: Kirk vs. Swain - UFC 262: Oliveira vs. Chandler *(Music) 'What You Know' (feat. Redman) by T.I. - 2006 --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/eftv/message

Join us for an audio recording of a LIVE ‘radio style’ play-by-play broadcast of the UFC 262 PPV (pay-per-view) MAIN CARD which had LIVE updates, commentary, results & reactions, from around 9:45PM ET Sat night, around the start of the Featured Prelim bout between Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza & André ‘Sergipano’ Muniz, OR at the start of the Main Card opener between Shane ‘Hurricane’ Burgos & Edson Barboza Jr. Throughout the telecast, our host, Matt Ryan, will be flying solo without his usual co-host, Harry Terjanian, but he will still be doing a radio-style PBP commentary broadcast of every single important bit of violence. The show was a live YouTube stream, that was broadcast from New Jersey. For the video version of the show visit us and be sure to subscribe to Combat Culture on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/hyV2Rg_0_zA This weekend the UFC showcased a fight for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s vacated UFC Lightweight Championship Title. It was going to be an all out battle for the belt between fight veterans Charles Oliveira & Michael Chandler in the main event. The UFC 262 PPV event was broadcast from the Toyota Center, Houston, TX, with a full capacity live crowd. Returning to the octagon for that main event, we had multiple UFC record-holder, Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira. He was entering the bout with a remarkable 30-8 record, with the most submission wins in the UFC history at 14, and tied for the most finishes at 16. ‘Do Bronx’ had also received 17 post fight bonuses (including 11 POTN bonuses, the most in UFC history), ranked #3 in the LW division. Oliveira was banging it out in this title fight against power striker & 3-time Bellator MMA LW Champion, as well as winner of the Bellator Season 4 LW Tournament, Michael Chandler. Who was the #4 ranked LW since joining the UFC in his debut on Jan 24 of this year against Dan Hooker at UFC 257. ‘Iron Mike’ was entering the bout with his impressive, 22-5 record, on a 3-fight win streak against the likes of Hooker, Benson Henderson & Sidney Outlaw – which were all striking finishes around the 2-mins mark of the 1st Rd. In the co-main event, we have another LW bout between fan favorite ‘El Cucuy’ Tony Ferguson & ‘Benny’ Beneil Dariush. Ferguson was coming off two losses to Oliveira & Gaethje in 2020, with a current 25-5 record, the well-rounded combat artist was ranked #5 in the division at this time. Meanwhile, Dariush, a BJJ specialist from Iran, was on a 6-fight win streak, 5 finishes (3 of them subs), making him the oddsmakers favorite here – despite carrying the rank of #9 in the division. He was coming at this bout with an impressive 20-4 record, having last lost to Alexander Hernandez at UFC 222, back in March of 2018. These bouts will have been preceded by a FW bout taking place between Matt ‘Danger’ Schnell, with his 15-5 record, after defeating Tyson Nam in January by Split Decision, who was matched up against Rogério Bontorin, sporting a 16-3 record, coming off two losses during the last year. In addition to that, we had a match-up between Women’s Flyweights, ‘Blonde Fighter’ Katlyn Chookagian & ‘Vivi’ Viviane Araujo. Our featured main card opener was between Shane Burgos & Edson Barboza after an extensive 7-bout undercard. What a wild night full of fights we have to share with you! Bloody Elbow fight experts, Eddie Mercado & Dayne Fox, are here to breakdown the UFC 262 PPV event. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. (SPOILERS...) Returning to the octagon for the main event, we had multiple UFC record-holder, Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira. who entered the bout the fave, with a remarkable 30-8 record, the most sub wins in UFC history at 14 & tied for the most finishes at 16. ‘Do Bronx’ has also received 17 post fight bonuses (including 11 POTN bonuses, the most in UFC history), & was currently ranked #3 in the LW division. Oliveira was banging it out in this title fight against power striker & 3-time Bellator LW Champ, as well as winner of the Bellator Season 4 LW Tourney, Michael Chandler. Who was also now the #4 ranked LW since joining the UFC in his debut on Jan 24 of this year against Dan Hooker at UFC 257. ‘Iron Mike’ entered the bout with an impressive, 22-5 record, on a 3-fight win streak against the likes of Hooker, Benson Henderson & Sidney Outlaw – which were all striking finishes around the 2-mins mark of the 1st Rd. Meanwhile, Dariush, a BJJ specialist from Iran, was on a 6-fight win streak, 5 finishes (3 of them subs). He was coming at this bout with an impressive 20-4 record. He did not disappoint, in what proved to be a dominating victory over ‘El Cucuy’ tonight. Also on the card, we had a Flyweight bout between Matt ‘Danger’ Schnell & Rogério Bontorin, who put on an impressive performance to a unanimous decision victory over Schnell. In addition to that, we had a match-up between Women’s Flyweights, ‘Blonde Fighter’ Katlyn Chookagian & ‘Vivi’ Viviane Araujo. These bouts were preceded by our featured main card opener with a bizarre delayed reaction KO when Shane Burgos faced off with Edson Barboza for a FOTN show, & a 7-bout undercard well worth discussing. Overall, this now 12-bout card saw 2 exhilarating 1st Rd finishes, 3 gnarly subs, 4 impressive KO/TKO’s - including our Title Fight, and 5 solid decisions - 1 split. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Charles Oliveira & Christos Giagos; FOTN honors went to Edson Barboza vs. Shane Burgos, in what many are calling a FOTY contention bout. This Friday, we're back with 'LFA', they have their '107th' event taking place. In the Co-main we have a Heavyweight clash between Vernon Lewis vs Alejandro Solorzano who surprisingly both like a submission. Then we end the night with the Featherweights in the Main event. As Kamuela Kirk & Daniel Swain go at for the W. AND Saturday night is another 'UFC' PPV, '262'. We will see Tucker Lutz finally make his debut, after a couple of runs on 2020 'Dana White Contender Series', make his debut. Though, he does have to face 'The Agel of Death' Kevin Aguilar. Technically, Sean Soriano is making his debut as well, though it is his second run in the promotion. He'll be treating it kinda like new, too as he'll want to lay it down this time around. 'The Spartan' Christos Giagos will be staring him down across the cage. PLUS, remember, we'll be getting a NEW Lightweight Champion crowned, as Charles Oliveira clashes with Michael Chandler for all the marbles.........who you got!!! So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 186) @ChinCheckPod

Jakob sits down with UFC lightweight contender Christos Giagos.
What an incredible weekend to end the year of martial arts @UFC Saturday, THEN, TWO doses of BJJ on Sunday Things jumped off with the last UFC card of the year, in 'UFC on ESPN+ 41'. First off, props to Christos Giagos for taking the fight on three days notice and putting in such a solid performance! Things really popped off with that sick submission from Jimmy Flick. The improvements we saw in Tafon Nchukwi game is crazy. If he can do that in only his fifth pro fight, watch out. It was great to see Pannie Kianzad really step into her potential. Rob Font had been out for just over a year, BUT, time was not stopping his ascendance @necartelmma aren't playing game!!! In the Co-main, José Aldo gave us one of his best post title performances. He brought the kicks back, he was relentless! AND, in the Main Stephen Thompson showed what it's like to fight air The movement, technique, composure, this was one of the most complete showings we've had. We then get Sunday rocking with Submission Underground! The card gave us great matches, high level submissions AND, a crazy ending. Amanda Loewen showed she might be the baddest woman on the mats. And if you doubt her, that new shiny championship belt says otherwise! Craig Jones got the pressure match he wanted, but diamonds are forged that way, and he got took that neck home Cowboy Cerrone grappling is something else and if you don't recognise that, he'll do it twice!!! And in the Main, seeing how Mason Fowler adjusted to the challenge, was impressive. Who can take that strap from him! THEN, Eddie Bravo & Victor Davila closed the show, with the final 'Combat Jiu-Jitsu Worlds' of the year. And this was a phenomenal showing of talent!!! Brianna Ste-Marie REALLY showed a sick guard game, with silky smooth transitions. Which all paid off, as she became the first ever female flyweight CJJW champion! There's also some NFL recap and today's (ep 122) @ChinCheckPod breaks it all down, so let's get with it! - NFL: Week 15: Sunday Games - UFC on ESPN+ 41: Thompson vs. Neal - Submission Underground 19 - Combat Jiu-Jitsu Worlds: The Female Flyweights *(Music) 'Deathgrip' by 7L & Esoteric - 2004
