Battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs) have come a long way in recent years and are becoming increasingly mainstream. But there are still a lot of myths and misconceptions out there about EVs. In this video, we sit down with David Wynne from EV 101 to get the facts and debunk some common EV myths. David tackles myths like EVs having limited range, not being practical for commercial use, easily catching fire, and being unsafe if submerged in water. He explains how advancements in battery technology are resulting in EVs that can travel 400+ km's on a single charge, making range anxiety a thing of the past for most drivers. And with lower maintenance costs and cheap overnight charging, EVs can actually be more practical and affordable than gas vehicles for commercial fleets. Safety is also addressed, with David explaining how EVs are no more prone to fires than gas cars, and the batteries are designed to be watertight. In fact, EVs often have safety advantages due to their lower center of gravity. Recycling of EV batteries is discussed as well, which is important for the continued sustainability of EVs. David explains how manufacturers are designing batteries to be recyclable, and how recycled materials are being used in new batteries. The video serves as an insightful reality check on many stubborn EV myths. David provides helpful facts and perspective for consumers considering going electric for their next vehicle. With continued advances in EV technology, the myths continue to be debunked, and adoption is steadily increasing.

"In this video, we speak with David Wynne from EV 101 to get the latest update on electric vehicles. David discusses the rapid growth of electric vehicles and the changes happening in the industry. David notes that charging infrastructure is expanding quickly to support the rising number of EVs on the road. Charging networks and apps are making it easier for EV owners to locate charging stations and plan longer trips. Range is also improving, with several models now offering over 200 miles on a single charge. The variety of electric vehicle options continues to grow as well, David says, from affordable compact cars to luxury SUVs. Major automakers have announced plans to release dozens of new fully electric models over the next few years. David expects the strong growth in electric vehicle sales to continue as costs come down, selection goes up, and more people recognize the benefits of driving electric. The future of electric vehicles looks very bright, according to this expert in the field. Overall, it's an exciting time for the EV market, with more innovations and advancements on the horizon." The summary highlights the key points around growth, charging, range, selection, and the future outlook in a professional and straightforward tone as requested. In March 2019, the nation was placed under house arrest. No eating out, shopping, or socialising meant retailers and restaurants had to pull down their shutters and to pivot to e-commerce or risk never opening their doors again. But in 2021 as brands welcome back shoppers in-store and online, how can they satisfy their customers' renewed appetite for the retail experience? In this episode of Retail Reawakened, we dissect the shopping experience. On the macro level, we find out why high streets need to evolve and break away from the decades-old model they've followed for so long. And we get granular and ask what it is that makes for a top-notch shopping experience, whether online or in-store. Plus, we reveal why brands should never assume what the consumer wants and why they must prioritise understanding the needs of their customers above all else.Brands don't stick around for 300 years out of sheer luck, they harness a winning recipe of great staff, excellent products and thoughtfully curated shop floors to attract and retain a loyal customer base. Former Director of IT at Fortnum and Mason, Tony Longhurst, shares with us the iconic London brand's formula for delivering the best customer experience. He explains what it is that turns a sales associate from good to great, why the layout of a store should be as thoughtfully considered as the products it is stocked with, and why brands need to recognise the diversity of their customers' expectations in order to meet their needs. When Arcadia group went into administration in 2021, many wondered if this was the death knell of the high street. But rather than heralding the end of town and city shopping districts, the turmoil of the last eighteen months may actually mark an evolution in our high streets. And no one is a bigger proponent for the evolved high street than Stockton Town Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Nigel Cooke. He tells us about Stockton's "bold new vision" for the high street and why it's doing away with a shopping centre in favour of more green and communal spaces. And he imparts a word of warning to those who think the key to a successful high street is a reliance on shops.Retailers and restaurants had to rapidly adopt e-commerce at the start of the pandemic to keep trading, but now it has become evident that digital retail is here to stay. But how do you bring an amazing in-store shopping experience online? CEO of digital transformation specialists, Red Badger, David Wynne, believes the key to offering great e-commerce solutions is knowing what customers want. He explains why brands should never offer digital solutions just for the sake of it and he reveals the one thing all customers are after when shopping online. And we hear from Adyen's own Conversion Expert, Sam Allan, about how retailers can extend the in-store feel online and how they can make their customers feel safe and secure at the checkout. If you want to find out more about enhancing customers' in-store and online shopping experiences, visit adyen.com/ukretailreport and download Adyen's latest research report.

Simon Bisley On An Etch-a-Sketch Hello, and welcome to episode 306 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. This week, we're jumping back to late January, 2012, to find out what our hosts got up to between episodes 2 and 3 of the Fantasicast. This week, we're reading Marvel Two-in-One #50, in which John Byrne takes Ben Grimm back to his past to try and avert his rocky-skinned fate. It's a time-travel classic that sees the Thing battle the Thing for... uh... look, it's an anniversary issue, does there need to be much more of a plot? Joining us to discuss the first book written and drawn by John Byrne is writer and artist David Wynne. You may have seen his artwork for podcasts including Jay and Miles X-Plain The X-Men or Joshua and Jamie Do Daredevil. Not wanting to miss out on this, Steve and Andy Fan-'splain The FF asked Dave to recreate the cover to the comic, and once we'd worked out who had originally drawn the cover, it came out of a treat. It's our first cover recreation, and we're as pleased as a couple of podcasters talking about a comic they really like with a guest host they enjoy chatting with who has also done a great job with creating some artwork for the episode. Do You Like The Fantastic Four? Hello, and welcome to episode 212 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. To conclude our podcasting year, we're taking a break from covering every issue of the Fantastic Four. As you may know, we took the podcast to Thought Bubble this past November, sharing a table with our show artist Michael Georgiou. Whilst we were there, we took advantage of having a large number of guest-hosts (past and future) at the convention, and invited them to take part in our Fantasticast pop quiz. 13 podcasters. 5 questions. One episode. Thank you to Joe Cunningham, Fraser Geesin, Michael Georgiou, Christine Hanefalk, Stephen Lacey, Andrew Leyland, Micheal Leyland, Al Kennedy, Ryan O'Sullivan, Seb Patrick, Stacey Taylor, Dan White and David Wynne for taking part! Atomic Bomb Tsum Tsum! Hello, and welcome to episode 207 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. This week on the show, it's the turn of Marvel Team-Up #10, as Chris Claremont brings the Thing into the world of the Black Widow, helping her save the word from atomic devastation at the hands of Agamemnon. We're experience our first pencils from Bob Brown, and the first inks from Klaus Janson, whose brushwork not-so-neatly divides opinion amongst our hosts... Joining us this week is podcast Nicolas Papaconstantinou, from We Have Issues and the UK Podcast Award-nominated Two Grown Men. He helps us bear witness to the greatest Black Widow action seen so far in comics, and to help judge the terribly-confusing terrorist talent show. Nick can be found on twitter as @nixsight, and the 24 Hour Twitter Comic 2016 fundraiser for Mind can be found here - in return for a donation, you'll receive a copy of the David Wynne-drawn comic. We've gotten to the part of the 24hr podcast where Barry & I have given up on any semblence of podcast-hosting professionalism, leading to two very different but equally interesting guest appearances. Firstly, David Wynne (tip-top comicking guy) and Barry almost come to blows over which bit of London is better despite neither of them living there anymore, before we find out what's cheesing David in the comic world. Then we have Jennie Gyllblad (bonkers brilliant artist lady) and Lee Grice (bonkers brilliant podcast dude), who bring all the not-safe-for-work sass with them! I think the title of this one says it all really... Enjoy, and donate! www.justgiving.com/spcplive2 Episode Theme - 'Breakin'... Because It's About Time Someone Did! Hello, and welcome to episode 137 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. We're taking a break from our usual format this week to take a look back, in the first of three special episode to celebrate the release of the new Fantastic Four movie. In the style of the rather wonderful Rachel and Miles X-Plain The X-Men, we're taking look back at the first 51 issues and 3 annuals of The Fantastic Four. And Strange Tales. But not for long - we promise! Starting with the Mole Man and ending with the bald bloke, it's a breakneck romp through the origins of the Marvel Universe and the creation of a legendary comics, encompassing some of the greatest comics ever published, some of the most iconic villains in comic-dom, and the Infant Terrible. Featuring podcaster and friend-of-the-show Michael Bailey as 'Digits' - check out his shows From Crisis To Crisis: A Superman Podcast and Views From The Longbox! Post-Trailer Comedown Hello, and welcome to episode 116 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. It's time to take a look at the penultimate Jack Kirby-penciled issue of the Fantastic Four, issue #101. The Maggia have their eyes on the Baxter Building, and will stop at nothing, including murder, to get their hands on the contents of Reed's laboratory. It's a small but effective tale, and a late burst of quality from these final issues. And if it's quality that you like, then you'll barely tolerate the existence of Amazing Adventures #1. The Inhumans are given their own solo strip for the second time, and Jack's been allowed to write and pencil. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a muddled mess, with inappropriate colouring and heavy inking doing their best to drown Kirby's work. We're also taking the time to plug a kickstarter for an audio SF comedy series called Ray Gunn and Starburst. Written by Holly Rose, and featuring the voice of Fantasticast guest-host David Wynne, this is a fun project. Check out the kickstarter and help Holly get the funding at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/703821617/ray-gunn-and-starburst Send in your feedback to fantastic4podcast@gmail.com, leave your comments at the libsyn site, or at fantasticflameon.wordpress.com. Hello, and welcome to episode 101.5 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. Except for this one. Unfortunately, a recent recording went horribly wrong when a software crash caused one of the tracks to save with multiple, unsurmountable errors. So, we're delaying for a week whilst we get our re-record sorted. As is traditional when this sort of thing happens, we're not going to leave you empty-eared for a week. To keep your Fantasticast cravings under control, we're presenting a selection of our favourite outtakes, distractions, insults, and idiocy from episodes 21-30. Featuring special appearances from our guest-hosts David Wynne and Michael Bailey. Powered By Hateful Hate From A Hate Raygun Joining Steve and Andrew today is the marvellously wonderful and hairy David Wynne, co-creator and artist of Hypergirl, creator of Ideasman, and all-round nice bloke. Oh, he also created the Fantastic-Arse joke, but we forgive him for that. David joins us to look at Fantastic Four #21, featuring the hateful Hate-Monger, Colonel Nick Fury, and a surprise guest-star on the final page. We then move onto Strange Tales #115, featuring the Sandman and... not much else. We also introduce our new blog, Fantastic Flame On, a daily picture blog chronicling every instance of Flame On, It's Clobberin' Time, Asbestos, and more. Swing by the site to check it out! Welcome to another fine episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! This month Stacey is joined by David Wynne, doodler of Particle Fiction and Hypergirl, and they discuss practically everything under the nerdy sun! Including spoiler-tastic reviews of Hardcore #1, 2001: Space Oddyssey, Image's Extreme Comics and Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Radio Show Live as well as speculation on The Dark Knight Rises. The pair also wonder about sex scenes in TV shows and films... Put this in your earholes and enjoy! Episode Theme - 'Go' by Pearl Jam End Theme - 'Marvin' by Marvin the Paranoid Android

Sue Lawley's castaway on this week's Desert Island Discs is sculptor David Wynne. As well as talking about his sculptures Boy with a Dolphin and Guy the Gorilla, David explains how he researches his work by visiting the animals in the wild. This has led to some dangerous adventures. But David Wynne's work has its gentler moments - he also designed the hands on the back of the 50-pence piece.[Taken from the original programme material for this archive edition of Desert Island Discs] Favourite track: Clarinet Concerto in A by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Book: The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer Luxury: Harmonica
