Gold Basin Resources CEO Colin Smith joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce that the company has secured a driller and is preparing to commence rig mobilization. The drilling is set to begin in June as part of the company's fully-funded Q2 reverse circulation drill program. This program will focus on resource expansion and delineation at the Stealth Deposit and the Gap Zone at located in northwestern Arizona. Smith elaborated that the company's exploration efforts will target the Gap Zone, which remains sparsely drilled and open in all directions. The Gap Zone is situated between the high-grade Stealth and Red Cloud oxide gold deposits. The northwest-trending Stealth Fault, which hosts the Stealth Deposit, Gap Zone, and Red Cloud Deposit, extends 500 to 900 meters southwest of and parallel to the Cyclopic Deposit. This fault has been mapped for over 8 kilometers to the northwest and 3 kilometers to the southeast, indicating significant potential for resource growth. The drilling program aims to better define the mineralization within the Gap Zone and to explore the continuity and extent of the gold-bearing structures. The Stealth Fault's geological characteristics suggest it is a major control on gold mineralization in the area, making it a prime target for further exploration. Gold Basin Resources is also working towards the Project's maiden NI 43-101 oxide gold resource estimate, which is expected to be released later this year. This resource estimate will be a significant milestone for the company, providing a clearer picture of the project's potential and laying the groundwork for future development plans. Smith emphasized the importance of the upcoming drill program, stating that it represents a critical step in advancing the project. The results from this drilling will not only help to expand the known resources but also improve the understanding of the geological framework, aiding in more precise targeting for future exploration. #proactiveinvestors #goldbasinresourcescorporation #tsxv #gxx #otcqb #gxxff #mining #gold #DrillingProgramme, #ArizonaMining, #StealthDeposit, #ResourceExpansion, #OxideGoldResource, #MiningNews, #GoldExploration, #Mineralization, #HighGradeGold, #ResourceDelineation, #43_101Compliance, #MiningIndustry, #GoldMining, #ExplorationUpdate, #Geology, #MiningProjects, #ArizonaGold, #MineralResource, #DrillingNews #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
@1QLeadership Question: What are the steps needed to create a major giving society for a college athletics department? Colton Primm, Senior Associate Athletics Director at Louisiana Tech, answered this question based on his experience setting up the Aillet Society on campus: Establish the purpose of the organization Delineate the giving amounts and respective benefits Identify and inform potential donors Launch the campaign Primm explains that (at La Tech) the annual fund is used for the general operations of the athletics department, while the major giving society creates long term giving opportunities and is used for specific projects. As the giving amounts get higher, information and access have proven to be the key benefits. - One Question Leadership Podcast - Tai M. Brown

There are three important rules to remember here: (1) the subject is acted upon in a passive sentence; (2) the letter ‘r' is the most common indicator of the passive voice in the Latin present tense system; (3) passive verbs expect agents. Ok, let's start with the basics. Passive is a voice. It's the opposite of active. Simple. I could say it also complements the “yin” to active's “yang,” but I don't care much to do so. Anyways, in essence, what the passive voice does is move the action of the verb backwards toward the subject rather than forward toward a direct object. Conversely, active verbs move the action of the verb from the subject toward a direct object. Thus, in principle, passive verbs do not take direct objects. In English, passive verb forms typically involve some form of the verb “to be,” such as: “I am praised,” which is passive, vs. “I praise,” which is active. “ we were warned,” which is passive, as opposed to “we warned,” which is active. “they will be held,” which is passive, as opposed to “they will hold,” which is active. Note: It's important in English to recognize that when “be” is added to a verb form, it doesn't always make the verb passive. The addition of a form of the verb “to be” can also make the verb continual. Here's how to tell those forms apart: a “be” form, combined with a verb that has a participle ending “-ing,” is active, whereas a “be” form, combined with a verb that has a participle ending “-ed,” is passive. For example: “I am praising” which is active, vs. “I am praised, being praised” which is passive; or the active form “we were warning” vs. the passive form “we were warned.” There's a very easy way to be certain you're dealing with a passive form and not a continual form: if it makes sense to add “by someone” after the verb form. Whenever you can, the verb form is passive. For example, it makes sense to say “We were warned by someone,” whereas it makes no sense to say “We were warning by someone.” Now let's look at how the passive voice works grammatically. We'll start with an active sentence: “Students study Latin.” If we take the active verb “study” and we make it passive by adding the verb “to be” and adding “-ed” to the end of the verb with the result that “study” becomes “is studied,” then turn the direct object of the active sentence “Latin” into the subject of the passive sentence, we end up with the passive sentence “Latin is studied.” Notice it means the same thing: Latin is being studied. But it leaves one thing out: who is doing the studying? If you want to include that in the passive sentence, you must take the subject of the active form (“students”), put it after the passive verb (“is studied”), and append “by” to the front of “students.” The result is: “Latin is studied by students.” The grammatical term for “by students” is the agent. We'll chat more about that later. Notice that, while both sentences say the same thing, the action of the verb runs in exact opposite directions. In the active sentence, it moves from left to right, from the subject to the direct object. But when the verb is changed to passive, the action runs right to left, toward the subject and from the agent. Here's the first sentence: “I explained the passive voice.” So, what's the direct object (Accusative) here? The passive voice. Now, let's make that the subject (Nominative), add a form of “to be” to the verb (in the right tense, that is) and make the subject the agent, or in layman's deal-io, put “by” in front of it. The result is: “The passive voice was explained by me.” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/liam-connerly/support
Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2023.03.30.534945v1?rss=1 Authors: Black, C. J., Saab, C. Y., Borton, D. A. Abstract: Gamma band activity localized to the primary somatosensory cortex (S1) in humans and animals is implicated in the higher order neural processing of painful and tactile stimuli. However, it is unclear if gamma band activity differs between these distinct somatosensory modalities. Here, we coupled a novel behavioral approach with chronic extracellular electrophysiology to investigate differences in S1 gamma band activity elicited by noxious and innocuous hind paw stimulation in transgenic mice. Like prior studies, we found that trial-averaged gamma power in S1 increased following both noxious and innocuous stimuli. However, on individual trials, we noticed that evoked gamma band activity was not a continuous oscillatory signal but a series of transient spectral events. Upon further analysis we found that there was a significantly higher incidence of these gamma band events following noxious stimulation than innocuous stimulation. These findings suggest that somatosensory stimuli may be represented by specific features of gamma band activity at the single trial level, which may provide insight to mechanisms underlying acute pain. The Great Feminine Divide—as Jamie Elizabeth Thompson calls it— starts in childhood. From a young age, most girls were bought up to believe that sex is taboo. But sexuality is a natural and essential aspect of human nature, and we intuitively know this. The lack of safe spaces prevents women from exploring their sexuality so instead they carry shame about having erotic thoughts and desires. This ancient distortion still persists today to control the feminine. To overcome this repression, women need to discern between their sexual truths and social conditioning. Question the rules and ask why you follow them. Delineate between what you truly believe and what you've been taught to believe. Don't be afraid to dive into your sexuality, for that too is a spiritual path to the divine. For so many women, sexuality only exists within relationships. Only with a partner do they feel safe to release their erotic side. Jamie encourages women to continue their pursuit of pleasure with themselves and with fellow sisters. Women can create their own contexts of sensuality without following limiting patterns. By fully embodying our erotic nature, there is a deeper sense of self-knowing. When we fully approve of ourselves, we cannot be easily swayed by outside forces who want to control us. Jamie is a holistic sex coach who equips individuals and couples with tools to help them break out of limiting sex patterns to have a more fulfilling intimate life. She is the founder of Awakened Woman, a curriculum and community for women to reconnect with their feminine sensuality and power and turn on their orgasmic potential. A few episodes ago, we discussed integrity in our coaching businesses. I believe it is of the utmost importance to uphold a high level of integrity and trustworthiness in our coaching practices, not only for ourselves and for our clients, but for the industry as a whole. Upholding acceptable practices includes not only avoiding unacceptable practices but also being intentional to choose and implement good, quality procedures and policies. In this episode, I pitch a few solutions to unacceptable coaching practices. I help you understand the problems these solutions avoid, as well as a bit on how the problems can creep in unaware in the first place. When we are conscientious of potential unacceptable practices, we can take steps to not only avoid them but intentionally replace them with excellent practices and approaches to helping our clients. James Yaya Hough discusses his development as an artist while incarcerated. On view at JTT from May 1 through June 11 is a solo show of work by Hough titled "Invisible Life". The show features a series of line drawings and watercolors that delineate the economy of desire that emerges from within America's carceral system. All are drafted on what Hough refers to as “institutional paper:” any state-issued documents required to process an inmate's daily activities from weekly cafeteria menus to questionnaires for inmates to complete on triplicate copy paper. In today's episode Hough discusses the environment from which this body of work emerged.
In this episode of Inside the Plan with the 401(k) Brothers, Bill and Andy Bush, advisors at Horizon Financial Group, share some tips envisioning what your retirement might look like, with best practices based on a recent survey conducted by the Employee Benefit Research Institute. Episode Highlights: 1:10 - According to a recent survey, many retirees find that retirement does not live up to their expectations. 2:35 - Most retirees hoped to travel more, and obviously the pandemic disrupted their ability to do that. 3:30 - People generally wish they had saved more; only 18% of those surveyed felt that they saved more than they needed. 3:55 - Right now is the only time you have to plan for retirement. 4:45 - Even if you don’t have much to save right now, save something, because the dollars you put away now will have the most time to compound. 4:55 - Despite people wishing they had saved more, over 60% report still being able to maintain the same or a better standard of living as when they were working. 5:40 - Use the retirement savings calculators that come as part of your 401k plan or other retirement savings plan. 6:03 - Six in 10 respondents wanted to only spend a small portion of their assets, none of their assets, or grow their assets. 7:36 - The biggest reason given for this in the survey is to make sure they have enough for unforeseen costs later in retirement. 7:53 - Those big hits often come, but that’s why you also pay premiums for various insurance policies. 8:30 - HSAs are a good thing to look into for future health-related emergencies. 8:37 - You should also look into having some sort of liquid retirement fund. 8:52 - 64% of survey respondents agreed that saving as much as they could for retirement made them feel happy and fulfilled. 9:19 - Saving for retirement creates a lifelong habit of spending less than you earn. 9:59 - Priorities can change during retirement. 10:40 - You have to prepare for the fact that you could have something happen pre-retirement that impact your plan, like a pandemic. 11:07 - 8 in 10 respondents scored their retirement satisfaction as above average. 12:00 - Delineate what you want vs what you need in retirement. 12:39 - It’s fairly common for people to feel they’ve lost a sense of identity once they retire, so you have to be careful of depression. 13:45 - Remember that you’re retiring to something else, to another purpose, not from one purpose to nothing. 14:12 - Some of the things you can control are your savings rate and how that money is invested. 14:50 - You have some control over your longevity if you regularly see your doctor and take care of your health. 15:55 - You have no control over market returns and taxation and social security policies. 16:31 - You also control your attitude and approach, so shoot for the positive, realistic view of where you’re headed. 3 Key Points: If you aren’t currently putting any money away for retirement, start now; if you are, increase the amount. There are options besides a 401k for putting money aside for unforeseen circumstances. Focus on the things you can control. Tweetable Quotes: "When I run into folks that have retired, most of them say I'm busier now than I ever was. Which is good, because they're actually experiencing and living life to the fullest, which is what they should do." "I don’t think you’re ever carelessly going to be able to spend in retirement, but comfortably, you’ve got to do the work ahead of time." "Let’s say you retire at 67, by the time you’re 90, those priorities inside retirement are going to be changing." "I’m retiring to another purpose. I’m not retiring from something to nothing, I’m retiring to something." Today I am sharing an incredible conversation that I had the privilege of having with Sarah Edmundson. Sarah is a talented actress with a radiant smile and natural charm. She has an exceptionally diverse portfolio of interests, and dedicates herself with limitless energy and positivity to the worlds of acting and yoga. In 2005, when NXIVM, a personal and professional development company, promised to provide the tools and insight Sarah needed to reach her potential, she was intrigued. Over her twelve-year tenure, she went from student to coach and eventually operated her own NXIVM center in Vancouver. Questions kept coming up about the organization’s rules and practices, which came to a head in 2017 when she accepted an invitation from her best friend to join DOS, a “secret sisterhood” within NXIVM. In 2019, Sarah published Scarred: The True Story of How I Escaped NXIVM, the Cult that Bound My Life, with Kristine Gasbarre. In this tell-all memoir, she shares her story from the moment she takes her first seminar to her harrowing fight to get out of NXIVM, collaborate with the FBI, help others, and heal. In today's episode we talk all about; Sarah's experiences being in a cult and the courage she had to leave Being able to recognize the difference between self help and self harm Sarah's path to healing past trauma and settling into who she really is And so much more! This conversation is definitely one you're going to want to listen to. So grab some tacos and let's dive in, okay?!

Abstract: Single-cell expression profiling is destructive, giving rise to only static snapshots of cellular states. This loss of temporal information presents significant challenges in inferring dynamics from population data. Here we provide a formal analysis of the extent to which dynamic variability from within individual systems ("intrinsic noise") is distinguishable from variability across the population ("extrinsic noise"). Our results mathematically formalise observations that it is impossible to identify these sources of variability from the transcript abundance distribution alone. Notably, we find that systems subject to population variation invariably inflate the apparent degree of burstiness of the underlying process. Such identifiability problems can be remedied by the dual-reporter method, which separates the total gene expression noise into intrinsic and extrinsic contributions. This noise decomposition, however, requires strictly independent and identical gene reporters integrated into the same cell, which can be difficult to implement experimentally in many systems. Here we demonstrate mathematically that, in some cases, the same noise decomposition can be achieved at the transcriptional level with non-identical and not-necessarily independent reporters. We use our result to show that generic reporters lying in the same biochemical pathways (e.g. mRNA and protein) can replace dual reporters, enabling the noise decomposition to be obtained from only a single gene. Stochastic simulations are used to support our theory, and show that our "pathway-reporter" method compares favourably to the dual-reporter method. Copy rights belong to original authors. In this pedscase, we will explore this topic through the discussion of clinical cases related to acute and chronic uveitis that may appear in your practice. By the end of this podcast, you should be able to: Generate a differential diagnosis for a child presenting with photophobia, redness, and tearing. Discuss the fact that chronic uveitis (aka ‘white uveitis’) can present with no symptoms and is often associated with a rheumatic disease, most commonly juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Review the relevant anatomy, classification, and potential complications of uveitis. Differentiate the differences in etiology and presentation of a child with sudden-onset acute uveitis and insidious chronic uveitis. Describe the diagnosis and management of a child presenting with either acute or chronic uveitis. Delineate the prognosis for both acute and chronic uveitis.
The ASCA Board always works to ensure the ASCA provides the support Members and Coaches need to feel confident within their qualifications and standing in the sporting and strength and conditioning industry. Part of this was the development of the ASCA Professional Coach Accreditation Scheme (PCAS). The PCAS was primarily developed for the following reasons: - To recognise coaching experience in addition to education - Delineate the scope of the Strength and Conditioning professional - Create a structured mentoring network - Provide employers and ASCA members with a framework of job competencies and proposed remuneration schedules ASCA Board Member, John Mitchell, was instrumental in the development of the PCAS and has recently shared his experiences in both the industry and the development of the PCAS in a podcast with Dr Stephen Bird, ASCA inaugural Mentor Coach of the Year and Associate Editor of JASC. In this podcast Dr Bird and John Mitchell discuss the establishment of the PCAS and how it was developed to solidify the integrity of the profession. In addition to recognising both education and experience at different levels the PCAS gives the coach the confidence to know what their credentials should entitle them to, and the employer guidelines of how to select a coach with credentials and experience and a guide for the minimum remuneration that aligns to these credentials. The ASCA is ever evolving with what our Members and Coaches need from their governing body and we share with you this podcast to give you insight to the passion and commitment the Board has for both the ASCA and the industry as a whole. Following this podcast keep an eye out for the supporting article in JASC 27(5), due to be published at the end of October.

There's not a manual for the shit. Started a company when I got out of the Marine Corps and failed miserably. Didn't understand that that was the key to the success going forward. Almost wrecked my entire relationship, to the most important person in my life, my wife. Didn't respect how precious my children more, or that time by chasing a dream that I believe with every fiber of my body would be happening. Instead scrape my knees busted my nose almost went broke, barely could pay rent for years on end and came out better because of the experience. To say I needed to perfect change and use best practices is an understatement. For those that can relate, feel free to check out the four principles of change management as it relates to your business, new parenting endeavor, or project that you're looking to improve. Principle #1: Delineate between strategy and a plan. Don't confuse where the rubber meets the road Principle #2: Know how your train. You'll need remedial or corrective action that are anticipated and well thought out. Principle #3: Choose the right plan. Principle #4: Choose the right strategy. Watch the video of this podcast here. Dre’s passion for security and educating people about risk and prevention clearly translates in his delivery of information and strategies in his discussion with Kristina.Let's Begin With Some Dre- Stats: There are 1.1 billion active websites on the internet today 33 percent are powered by some sort of CMS (so there is a lot of vulnerable code out there) 73 percent of this 33 percent are powered by 4 platforms specifically - Drupal, Magento, WordPress, and Joomla Over 47 percent of the companies running websites on their own have no way of tracking open source code. They aren't updating or changing components in an intuitive way, using correct standardsWhat Does This Mean for Us as Wordpress Consultants? This is an opportunity for us to increase the longevity of our client relationship. We can help them grow their site and increase the return on their initial investment through on going work. Dre sees a website as a living organism that actually comes to life the moment it goes into production. It's, therefore, part of your role to encourage the growth and productivity of that living organism. There's more to it than making it, handing it over and leaving it.What Do We Need to Know as Wordpress Consultants? As a consultant, you need to be all over - People, Processes and Technology. You need to make sure that you have controls in place by implementing specific processes. Doing things like: Updating software in a timely manner (Outdated software is responsible for the majority of attacks) Checking on the updates of web server software, databases, 3rd party plugins, and hosting providers Looking at how your clients log into the website (FTP) Thinking more holistically: go beyond thinking just about WordPress. Look at how are we connecting, passing files, interacting, passing on data, passwords and misconfiguration of plugins. The list goes on! Dre suggests using tools to help you do this in layers. Like the layers of an onion, if one gets peeled away, there’s another layer under it, protecting the centre. Basically, make sure everything is segmented to protect the client against infection and reinfection. “Soup Kitchen Servers” Dre coined this term to describe a server that has everything, including the kitchen sink contained in it. The server has no segmentation, which puts it at huge risk of cross contamination - whether it’s vulnerable or not. Beware of the Soup Kitchen Server! Finally, you have a responsibility to your client to have an agreement in place around website security. Discuss this important element of the build in the early stages of your engagement and make sure they fully understand the significance. "Delineate responsibilities through expectation management," says Dre. Be sure to download Dre's free security checklist below. While you're there, drop us a comment. Let us know if you've had any nightmare experiences with clients and website attacks. You won't be the Lone Ranger!
