I really enjoy seeing these posts from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) every day where he always offers some form of encouragement.  “A message for today … A reminder: growth takes time, patience & courage — especially in moments no one sees. Every small step you take now is building a future you'll be proud of. Keep going even when it's hard. One day, the future you will be so grateful you didn't give up.”  This is something that I see connecting with so many people in today's world, including myself. Little things, small steps in our everyday choices can make a huge difference - even if at the time we are taking those small steps, we may not see it.  The quote he posts that goes with his thoughts above, helped me to see that I am not alone and that I need to share this message for today. I also was reminded from a former student and player of mine that posted a very similar post about going through tough times and sharing that we are not alone along with the little steps she keeps taking in living her best life. Take this with you and share it with others.  Thanks for listening.  Please take a few moments to subscribe & share this with someone, also leave a 5 Star rating on Apple Podcasts and ITunes or other services where you find this show.  Find me on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/coachtoexpectsuccess/   on Twitter / “X”:  @coachtosuccess   and on Instagram at:  @coachjohndaly  - My YouTube Channel is at: Coach John Daly.   Email me at: CoachJohnDalyPodcast@gmail.com     You can also head on over to https://www.coachtoexpectsuccess.com/ and get in touch with me there on my homepage along with checking out my Top Book list too.  Other things there on my site are being worked on too.  Please let me know that you are reaching out to me from my podcast.

Are you feeling the tension between staying authentic and using AI tools in your leadership? You're not alone. Many executives are grappling with this exact challenge, and the stakes have never been higher. What happens when the biggest threat to authentic leadership isn't AI itself, but how we choose to use it? Communication expert Allison Shapira has spent years helping executives find their voice in moments that matter most. Now she's tackling the question keeping leaders up at night: How do you stay human when the tools you're using aren't? Her new book, AI for the Authentic Leader, isn't about becoming an AI expert—it's about alignment, presence, and whether the future of leadership will amplify our humanity or quietly erase it. In this conversation, Allison reveals where most leaders are already falling out of alignment without realizing it. She shares why vocal fry in AI assistants could literally program weakness into future voices, and explains the critical mistake executives make with AI that actually undermines their credibility. Find out more about Allison on her website. Here are 5 key insights you can expect from this episode on balancing human connection and AI efficiency: The AI Authenticity Loop framework - Why the human isn't just "in the loop" but is the loop, and how this mindset shift changes everything. The "Why You?" question - A powerful tool for finding your authentic voice before crafting any message or entering any high-stakes conversation. Value-centered AI alignment - How to use AI tools to amplify your best authentic self rather than outsourcing your voice entirely. The vocal fry warning - Why AI voice assistants are programming vocal weakness into future generations and what leaders can do about it. Practical boundaries for AI use - A simple test to determine when AI assistance is appropriate and when human-only effort demonstrates true value. If you've ever wondered whether you can use AI tools without losing your authentic voice, this episode will change how you think about both technology and leadership. The future belongs to leaders who can harness AI while staying deeply human—and this conversation shows you exactly how to do it. 00:01:30AI and Authentic Leadership Introduction 00:03:02Finding Your Voice Through Travel 00:05:54Using AI to Amplify, Not Replace Your Voice 00:10:07The Critical Importance of Alignment 00:15:20Public Speaking as Leadership 00:18:03Finding Your Authentic Voice with "Why You" 00:22:20Overcoming AI Fear and Resistance 00:26:31AI's Dangerous Vocal Programming 00:31:19Maintaining Authenticity with AI Tools 00:35:13Building Confidence in the AI Era 00:40:41Connecting with Allison and Resources Connect with us: https://www.aworldofdifferencepodcast.com Linkedin YouTube Substack FaceBook Instagram Threads Patreon (for exclusive episodes just for Difference Makers) Bluesky TikTok Subscribe to the podcast, leave a review, and share this episode with someone who might need to hear it. I was listening to Mitch Albom's “Tuesday People” Podcast (@wetuesdaypeople) and you can find the recent episode - click on:  “The Words We Wished We'd Spoken” (Episode 242) and he was sharing some thoughts that he has gotten from many people on his book tour for “Twice”. His new book is another homerun for him and I would agree with so many others that have read it. It's one you will get you thinking about your life and the changes you can make in it. One of many things he brings up in this podcast is the fact that we do have time to tell people in our life that we love them or that we are sorry. It's been the overwhelming response by people to getting a second chance at something in life. Mitch reminds us that we have 525,600 minutes in a year and that saying we love someone or apologizing to someone, can be done in a minute (for the most part). Don't put these things off my friends.  Talk about motivation!! Just saw this post that had a great connection to today (Monday), but really it's any day that this will work with.  From POSITIVITY (@PositivitySaid) - “Monday: New day. New week. New Mindset. New focus. New start. New intentions. New results. Make it a great one.” Now this simple little post helped me to see not only some options for making this day a great one, but helping to make my future a better one too. These choices are not just for today. They can obviously last for a while. Awesome reminder that was connected to a text I got in a group chat from Coach Dave that was sent to our Difference Maker group. From the School of Hard Knocks (@theschoolofhardknockz) on Instagram, I caught a quick interview of a billionaire where he mentioned something his dad told him - “We grow old to soon and wise too late.” I think that is so true. Wisdom comes with experience and obviously experience comes with age. Experience also comes with taking action in life. That is something all of us can do more of for sure, especially for me. Part of growing old too soon is that time flys by and this person also mentioned that spending time with family & loved ones is something that is really important as we can never get it back.

I came across a powerful reminder from TeacherGoals (@teachergoals) and this reminds us that “Character counts”.  The quote is something that I know I need to focus on a bit more and I know that our world would be much better if we all connected with this more too - “I'm not impressed by your looks, money, social status or job title. I'm impressed by the way you treat other human beings.”  We have plenty of examples, sad to say, of so many people not connecting with this thought. How about we help to change things to help others. Remember, our time on this planet is short. I know I need to use my time a bit better for sure. How about you?

I found a post on FB from someone new and I connected with it right away. It's from Sam Demma and he shares something that one of his high school teachers shared with him that is very relevant for all of us to connect with. “Small consistent actions” were the three words that his teacher shared with him. The question he asked the class was “what do these people have in common?” He had written many famous people's names on the board before this.  These words are not only meant for famous people. They are meant for all of us. Again, the clip that I'm sharing shares this story much easier than I ever could. This was the post that I spoke about from Friday's show and it comes from Greg Berge (@gb1121) where he shares his video from an NBA legend, Doug Collins.  “Too many kids today are afraid of failure.” Doug Collins reminds us that “Failure isn't the end. It's the lesson. It's how you grow, learn, and get tougher. Every champion has failed; they just refused to stay there.”  Now of course it hits differently hearing the clip instead of me just talking about it or reading the quotes.  The big motivating factor from this lesson is that since we all fail, every single one of us, many times a day - this should fire us up to see the opportunities we have to grow, learn, improve, etc., every single day!  I know that I need to hear this lesson again as I tend to forget the chances I have to really improve myself and my life, whenever failure hits. Another big truth… This is not just for kids.

I came across something that really hit home for me. This post from Gary Hensel (@gary_hensel) reminded me that “Somebody didn't wake up today, but you did. That's enough reason to stop complaining, and that's enough to be thankful for. Never let your troubles blind you to your daily blessings.”  Recently I went to a funeral service for a longtime family friend, finding out a former student of mine recently passed away and most recently a neighbor and good friends of ours - lost a family member very quickly. I know it happens every day and that it is a true part of life.  But, I needed a reminder about the “me complaining” part. Many times I lose sight of the reality of life and what others are going through. I think that empathy is a skill for all of us to keep working on, once again this really goes for most of our “leaders” in our country today for sure.

I was reading my “Daily Reader” from John Maxwell on my Kindle app, and yesterday's lesson was about making failure your best friend.  I love how easy he puts part of this. John mentions “When you are able to learn from any bad experience and thereby turn it into a good experience, you make a major transition in life. For years I've taught something that I think gives useful insight on the subject of change: People change when they… Hurt enough that they have to, Learn enough that they want to, and Receive enough that they are able to.”  Thinking about these true statements got me thinking not only about myself in each of those three, but also the fact that others are there too. I want to focus on helping others to receive more encouragement to help them get through the first two parts. Another thought from John Maxwell, where he picked up this from Jim Rohn: “Don't let your learning lead to knowledge; let your learning lead to action.”  Hey, don't get me wrong, knowledge is great - but what do we do with that knowledge? Those ideas? Those thoughts? Putting them into action is the key and when that action leads to us getting better, along with helping others to get better too, well that is a great place to be. I know I need to continue putting more action into my life and looking to make a difference in the lives of others.  I found another clip that I wanted to share, but I'll save that for Monday. I found this from Ball is Psych (@BallisPsych) and it's a great reminder for all of us in life and I know it's something I need to keep working on for sure.  “You are in control of your life. There are four things you can control every day of your life: attitude, work ethic, how you treat others and how you treat yourself.” — Pat Summitt.  Coach Summit was right… We do have some things that we can control and for me, it's something that I need to focus on.  I'm starting to get some ideas for my word of the year for 2026 and it's going to be connected to Intentional. My attitude needs work on for sure, every single day! My work ethic is something to still improve, even though I'm not “working” every day anymore. How I treat others??  Wow.. that's one for sure that I need to improve upon… always!  The last one, how I treat myself, well that one has been on my “to do list” for a very long time.  I see that all of these are connected to living my best life, so once again I'm up for the challenge to keep getting better.

In this engaging conversation, Lori Adams-Brown interviews Mita Mallick about her book "The Devil Emails at Midnight: What Good Leaders Can Learn from Bad Bosses." Mita shares personal stories and insights on leadership, workplace culture, and the impact of bad bosses on mental health. The discussion covers the importance of self-awareness, setting boundaries, and the role of personal relationships in professional settings. The genesis of Mita's book started with a personal experience of her mother's home being flooded. Mita found an old notebook with stories about bad bosses, which inspired her book. Fear-driven workplaces may achieve short-term results but harm long-term culture. Mita shares a 'water test' to identify toxic workplaces during interviews. Setting boundaries is crucial for respect and inclusion in the workplace. Personal relationships can complicate professional decisions, especially in leadership roles. Mita emphasizes the importance of self-care for effective leadership. The conversation highlights the normalization of toxic behavior in workplaces. Mita advises doing reference checks on potential employers. The book encourages readers to learn from bad bosses to become better leaders. Pruned to Bear MoreIn the finale of our Difference Makers series, Pastor Brad teaches from John 15 on abiding and pruning. Abiding isn't a quick recharge—it's a plugged-in life with Jesus that produces real fruit. Pruning removes what siphons our energy into “leaves” (appearance, busyness, distractions) so more life can flow into what matters most: love, joy, peace, and the good of others. We get practical with three areas—schedule, downtime, and relationships—and ask God for courage to cut what keeps us from fruitfulness.DATE: 08/31/2025SPEAKER: Brad Goode

I found a new connection to things that can help me have better days, think better, do things better, get more fired up, etc. This thought came from Words of Wise | Mindset Coach (@Wordofwise_) and they shared this: “Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and start to be excited about what could go right!”  Wow!! Did I need this reminder! Little things this past weekend (and truthfully many days) pointed towards the fact of me focusing on things that I hope don't happen. Things that could go wrong have been eating up many of my “resources” and it's about time I choose to spend / invest those resources (my energy, thoughts, actions, emotions, etc.) on the things that can go right!

Title: The Greatest Ability is Availability | Matthew 9:35–38Have you ever wondered what's really holding us back from reaching the world for Christ? In this message, Pastor Corey reminds us that the greatest hindrance isn't a lack of opportunity—it's a lack of availability. From Jesus' compassion for the crowds in Matthew 9 to His call for more workers in the harvest, this passage challenges us to trust that God's plan for our lives is not just good—it's the best. God continues to call ordinary people to do extraordinary things when they simply make themselves available.Through powerful stories and practical application, this message will encourage you to pray, to go, and to support the mission of God both locally and globally. The harvest is plentiful. The question is—are we available?Key Scriptures:Matthew 9:35–38Romans 10:13–15Main Takeaway:The greatest hindrance to reaching the world is not a lack of opportunity, but a lack of availability.Watch, reflect, and share:God's plan for your life is always best. The greatest ability is availability.Pray for God to raise up workers for His harvest.

I see his posts just about every day and every one of them gets me thinking. This one (as I share from him again), I hope gets you thinking too. You see, we all have excuses in our lives as to why we don't do more, become better, try something new, finish something, etc., and Coach Ray Ostrowski (@CoachRayO3313) reminds us this about those excuses:  “Contrary to what many believe and practice, you can NEVER ‘excuse' your way out of a situation. You can go from failure to success, but never excuses. End your excuses and over time, correct your outcome.”  Now, those were his thoughts on this quote he shared: “You can't excuse your way out - you can only adjust your way out.  You can go from failure to success, but you can't go from excuses to success.” ~ John Maxwell.  “Drop the excuses if you truly want to change your results.”  This was talking right to me of course as I have way too many excuses in my life and throughout my history, that have all gotten in the way of me being my best version of myself.  I'm going to keep working on this for sure. But that 4% will put you at the top of your field within 10 years. Find the time.” - Patrick Bet-David.  I think it's more than just reading - although you will be so much better off if you do the reading. But listening to podcasts, watching videos, meeting with people that are a bit ahead of you in the things you want to do, etc. Self improvement is something we all can control and invest in. As usual, there seems to be a lot on my mind throughout the day (and night at times).  I found this simple reminder - simple but not easy to do. From Dr. Jim Afremow (@goldmedalmind) who posted this: “Just win the moment in front of you.”  Again, (a repeated topic) there are so many distractions every day in our lives. More so now than ever before it seems. When we win the moment in front of us - with whatever that might be - good things can happen. We stack more “wins” each day, we have more good days. We pile up more good days, life gets going in a good direction. Notice that it's not about being perfect, it's about being our best. For me, it's a never ending chase and it's something worth working towards for sure. The post came from Gary Hensel (@gary_hensel) and the post was this powerful reminder: “Surround Yourself With People Who - Empower you, Believe in you, Support you, Uplift you, Motivate you and Appreciate you.” I am reminded about so many people that help me in so many ways. Look what I found - a powerful reminder for myself that I also saw something yesterday that my daughter showed me.  This comes from Gratitude HQ (@gratefuledu64)  and they shared this:  “Let's be that person, who roots for others. Who tells a stranger they look amazing and encourages others to believe in themselves and their dreams.”  What happened to simply being happy for others when they find something that fires them up? Why is it that so many people have to “dump” on people for sharing things that they are excited about? Why is it so hard to just smile and say to yourself, I'm happy for that person… good for them?  To me, this is something that so many people need help with - including me. I need to be a better encourager. I need to keep rooting for the underdogs in life. Truthfully, if it's something that I don't agree with or don't like - I can simply keep scrolling or like I just did - hit the UNFOLLOW button, instead of piling on criticism, negative feedback, etc.  Now, there are times for sure to “REPLY” to others and not be silent, but for the most part it doesn't have to be every single time you see things you don't like or simply want to rag on someone for being happy. Just my 2.5 cents.

I saw something recently that gave me a motivational lift along with a reminder too. This comes from UpSkillYourLife (@UpSkillYourLife) and it's this: “Forget your age. If you have dreams to achieve, you are still young.” I do have dreams to achieve - still!!  I also think of my current age and I am reminded through this post and other things, that yes I am still young. I'm still that 15 year old boy that I was 44 years ago with dreams and thoughts of a future that I could not touch yet. Well, that future has been here and is now my present. As long as I have dreams to work toward, all the ages I have been in my life are here to help me keep going after things.  The longer I let this thought simmer, the more emotional I get. Part of it also is that I'm in the middle of reading Mitch Albom's new book “Twice” which just came out recently.  I'll share more from the book in my next podcast. I still have dreams and I still can work towards them, no matter what my age is today! That's true for all of us. Just keep working towards them - little steps or big ones, doesn't matter. Reading the new book from Mitch Albom called “Twice” (click HERE for the book info.) It gets us thinking about what if we got second chances to do things over? But we would have to live with that new choice. Also, it can be used for Love either. So many thoughts here that this is helping to see things in my life just a bit differently. I understand that what I have in my life, I would not risk changing things in my past to have what I have today.  It's also taught me a little bit, that at times, we do have a second chance - to say I'm sorry. To fix something at that moment that just got broken. The key is in the moment.  I hope this book gets you thinking about your life like it has for me. Make sure you check out all of Mitch's books HERE. Would love to hear about your thoughts if you are able to get this book or any of his books and what you thought of them.
