Of all the one-word techno project names out there, Truncate has to be among the most descriptive. The name started as a name for David Flores's most pared-back tracks, different from the stuff he was making as Audio Injection at the time. As happens with people who are really good at techno—or just understand the genre fundamentally—Truncate's DJ tools took off quickly, because people in the scene could recognize the craftsmanship. You don't need more than a few elements to make something pop. Rather quickly, Truncate became Flores's main squeeze, bringing him to a new level of international attention and acclaim. Flores is part of a vibrant LA techno community that's probably never been more vibrant or diverse. He helped build the scene alongside producers like Drumcell, and now the city is home to several great techno parties every weekend. You'll see his name on the flyer of quite a few of them, though probably less now that he's an international star. His RA Podcast represents the ethos of not just the Truncate project, but his work writ large: stripped-back tunes, yes, but also electro and some choice vocal cuts. The mix was recorded at a club in Brooklyn NY called Output. Output one of the best club in NY. When playing my set I was feeding off of the crowd and the crowd was feeding off of me. To keep it simple "It was MASSIVE!" With many years of techno experience, how would you say the scene has evolved? 2. Too keep it simple. I have way over 10 years of techno experience. It all started out in the early 90's at a club called Limelight in NYC. It was at the Limelight where we exposed techno to crowds of 2,000-3,000 followers every Friday night. The party was called Future Shock. What is one of your most memorable nights? 3. The most memorable night was performing in Germany at Mayday. Me and Damon Wild started a group called Equinox and we where popular in Germany. We where act before Moby that night. I was nervous as staring down at a loaded shot gun. The MC announced us and there was dead silence. We where having technical problems. The crowd was whistling and cheering. All of a sudden the kick drum came through the sound system and the crowd went insane. It was like some one scored the game winning goal in a playoff Football game. What has kept you going? 4. Passion and the love of music. After the Limelight I was burnet out. I took years off from music. During that time I felt an empty void in my life. Now I feel like myself again. Any extra words for us youngstas? 5. Find a group of people who are on the same head as you. Work together, share ideas, learn together. Stay humble and ask other local DJ's who are big in the scene if there is any way they can help out. Pay your dues. Don't get discouraged and keep your head up. It takes time to built an empire.

Ziemlich genau Mitte der 90er trugen das erste Equipment, das Palazzo in Bingen und die Faszination des Musikverschmelzens die Hauptschuld daran, dass eine tolle Musiker-Karriere ihren Lauf nahm. Es dauerte 3-4 Jahre, bis die ersten Clubs und Radiosender auf ihn aufmerksam wurden und er zunächst regional eine Gelegenheit nach der anderen wahrnehmen durfte sein Können an den Decks zu präsentieren. Pünktlich zur Jahrtausendwende gab es auch eine große Wende in seinem bevorzugten Genre. Ein begeisterter Anhänger von progressiven Techno und später HardTechno hatte sich aus dem einst vollblut Trancer entwickelt. Gut Ding will Weile haben sagt der Volksmund und behält damit auch in diesem Fall Recht. Es dauerte weitere 6 Jahre bis Mark die ersten Releases draußen hatte und Clubs wie das Butan (Wuppertal), das Fusion (Münster) oder das Pulp Mansion (Berlin) von ihm beschallt wurden. Concrete Djz (SRB) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 33 Pt. 3 Bio: Ever since they came together these guys are on a mission of pushing forward the techno sound in Serbia . The DJ's behind Concrete Djz became involved with electronic music around the year 1997 with the emerging clubscene in Belgrade. Soon after, love towards music pushed them further with sound exploration and will to start their own story. Since the official forming of Concrete Djz group in 2003. they are responsible for numerous organized parties in Serbia, continuing to do so today aswell. In this time period Concrete Djz could also have been heard at various venues throughout their homeland Serbia, aswell abroad, in countries like England, Wales, Macedonia, Brazil, Italy, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia … spreading the underground sound. Style is TECHNO, free of boundaries yet defined, ranging from dark beats to pounding grooves, as they combine the most diverse elements of the sound into a whole with an edge on power, intelligence and hard working mixing. As producers, for them real story began in 2006. after debut record release for Betamax Recordings. Soon after that support came from many artists, which resulted in over 20 releases on 12” vinyl signed within next 3 years for some of the most respected record labels around. Sharing the stage with the likes of Surgeon, Dave Clarke, Gary Beck, Grovskopa, Audio Injection and Vince Watson, Timothy has learned to develop his mixing style which often comprises of up to 4 tracks at once, plus extra samples and loops.
