Since her first release back in 2018, Risa has attracted high profile interest from A-list players Amelie Lens, Dense & Pika, Pan Pot, Perc and Daniel Avery; has hit the Top 5 of the Beatport's Leftfield Techno Chart and played everywhere from De Marktkantine in Amsterdam to Watergate in Berlin, and of course all the most revered spaces all across Japan including Contact, Womb, and Vent. Despite the pandemic, the recent years have proven to be a high watermark for Risa as she has delivered a continuous flow of new music, primarily on Pan Pot's Second State and on Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains. With both of these mighty techno duos giving Risa their support and platforms, it has enabled her to start taking her first major footsteps into Europe, picking up her first headline bookings there. In 2022, she teams up for the first time together with Black Asteroid, a former engineer for Prince, and the duo will deliver three gritty, hard-hitting techno tracks on Chris Liebing's CLR. ⚡️Like the Show? Looks like the amazon links are truly dead as after a week I still can't create them. This does make me sad, as it was a great way for you guys to buy the music. It also lead to some nice Facebook drama last week as the blind followed the ignorant, and I wound up having to explain what an affiliate link is, how it generates legitimate sales, and ban a bone headed German DJ. Erst denken, dann sprechen! But with that out of the way I can bring you some more great new music along with an Anecdote on Emileigh Rohn sorting out my pronunciation of "Chiasm" back in... Good lord could it have been 2001? This weeks show includes tracks from The Saint Paul, Black Asteroid, Nordika, Chiasm, Implant, Lifelong Corporation, Incendie and Slichtnacht. The Saint Paul - DNA (Scientific) Black Asteroid - Blast Nordika - Fell in from Stars (Asgard) Chiasm - Chasing Butterflies (Stabbing Westward) Implant - The Algorithm Lifelong Corporation - Here I am (Flash) Incendie - Medieval Pulse Slichtnacht - Dark Emotions (Mikrometrik) http://synthetic.org/ https://synthetic.threadless.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@RealSyntheticAudio

Risa Taniguchi is arriving at the forefront of the dark techno wave that has washed over the underground in recent years. The Tokyo born - and based - artist has spent the last four years cultivating a lo-fi sound of distorted textures, fizzing synths and a quietly burning energy, which consumes all who hear it. Preferring to play sets which are "late night, for the weirdos", Risa has a knack for getting crowds in a nocturnal trance, before delivering shocks and surprises with a curious motif or unpredictable element. For those who like to cut loose in a dark environment, she is the perfect selector. In the studio as well as the club, Risa focuses on the drums, programming kicks that bring visceral and often aggressive thrills next to a uniquely addictive layer of well designed snares and hi hats. Her signature has become her own subtle and intriguing vocal samples, best heard on Slipped My Mind and Enclozed. She adds layers of acid bass and an always raw, edgy aesthetic. Having experienced them first hand whilst living in London, in 2010, Risa also has an enduring love of underground UK bass sounds, which can be heard in many of her tracks. The multi-talented act is also formally trained and a skilled player of the piano, who continues to play daily. She is a "classical music nerd" too, but of course prefers to explore the minor rather than major end of the scales. Since her first release back in 2018, Risa has attracted high profile interest from A-list players Amelie Lens, Dense & Pika, Pan Pot, Perc and Daniel Avery; has hit the Top 5 of the Beatport's Leftfield Techno Chart and played everywhere from SXSW Festival in the US to De Marktkantine in Amsterdam, Watergate in Berlin and of course all the most revered spaces all across Japan including Contact, Womb, and Vent. Despite the pandemic, 2020 has proven to be a high watermark for Risa as she has delivered a continuous flow of new music, primarily on Pan Pot's Second State and on Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains. With both of these mighty techno duos giving Risa their support and platforms, it has enabled her to start taking her first major footsteps into Europe, picking up her first headline bookings in Hungary and the UK. BRYAN BLACK aka BLACK ASTEROID started his music career as a sound designer and keyboard tech for PRINCE at PAISLEY PARK STUDIOS in his hometown of Minneapolis. While working for Prince, black proceeded to create his own music- some of the most innovative techno records released on labels such as MUTE and KOMPAKT. These records caught the ear of MARTIN GORE from DEPECHE MODE. Soon after, Black was on tour with Depeche Mode with his band MOTOR, and recording songs with Martin Gore at his home studio in Santa Barbara and Berlin. Together Black and Gore wrote a top 40 single “Man Made Machine”. In 2011 the debut BLACK ASTEROID single, “Engine 1” introduced Black Asteroid to the world, and introduced an industrial rock sound into techno that quickly took off, propelling Black to play at clubs such as Berghain, Fabric London and major festivals. The focus was in favor of song structures and vocals in a techno template. After a string of EPs, the debut album “Thrust” was released in 2017 with many cross over singles, featuring vocals from ZOLA JESUS, COLD CAVE and MICHELE LAMY. The fashion designer RICK OWENS picked up on what was happening, and used Black's music for his runway shows in Paris. The two quickly became friends and collaborators. Currently Black Asteroid is prepping a new album and several EPs, in addition to working in the fashion world, having just released a collection of sunglasses with Valley Eyewear, and music for Raf Simons and Rick Owens.

Tough, raw and gritty describe the man, his music and label. Perseverance is another word synonymous with Deepak Sharma: an unrelenting passion for music and sharing his sound through a belief so intense, his soul pours out and bears itself within each release and DJ set. While DJ'ing is his calling, his label also requires the utmost care through each carefully curated offering, slowly and steadily building a catalog greater than most accomplishing the rare feat of forty-four releases and counting. A good album leaves a mark on you, but traditionally, that impact lasts as long as the album itself. It starts, you hear a bunch of great songs you love, and then it's over. Maybe it put you in a better mood? Or perhaps it even gave you some time to think about things? Whatever the case, when the record stops, all too often the influence goes along with it. What makes an album like Bitches Brew so special is that the influence doesn’t die when you pick the needle up. Instead, it continues to expand out infinitely in all directions. An album like this is more than just a collection of great songs, it's a whole universe of influence, one that continues to grow and shape culture, even decades after its release. Join host Andy Bothwell in Columbia's Studio B, where he wraps up Season 8 of The Opus alongside journalist and engineer from ThePudding.com, Matt Daniels; Techno musician Black Asteroid; Jazz innovators The Bad Plus; and touring machine Andy Frasco of Andy Frasco and the UN. Together, they explore the ever-expanding universe of Miles Davis. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, stream a legacy edition of Bitches Brew via all major streaming services. You can also enter to win the massive 43-CD The Genius of Miles Davis box set, which includes the four-disc The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions.

How did these early tracks have an impact on your later career? A: Well, first I wanted to do a classical DJ Mix, something danceable from the mid 1990’s to now, but then I switched to the idea of recording an after-hour mix, since the after-hour culture was an important part in the 1990’s and in the beginning of me partying. I still listen to all of these tracks sometimes in compare to old records, which I rarely or never pick out of my shelf. We go through some emotinal waves here. The mix is quite up and down. Coming down to my career, I really have a love going on with the Lady B track. I like the pressure and build up and everything in it, this track remained timeless for me and still fits into my sets, compare to other tracks from that time. I really love dancing to it, play that song and you see me freaking out like a maniac from a forgotten tribe or so. I guess it’s this forward pushing vibe an attitude I’ve picked from "The Groove Is Going" for my career. Q: You´ve recently released your new album “Riss”. It´s a mix between Synth-Pop, Indie Dance and the typical Beliayeva Techno. How would you describe your musicial development with this LP? A: Well, some new aspects are added, the songwriting comes more into light. The arragement has changed a bit. All is slightly more advanced, but in the core and that’s the most important part, I could express myself more or way clearer in this record. Probably that’s the trick of growing up. Talking calm, straight and clear, know more and more, what you want, set your goals, know your limits, be more focused, less open for compromises, give a shit, be self confident, don’t go for second best. Well, I’m curious about my development, let’s see where the journey goes. Right now I’m like super inspired, stucked in experiments on various fields, the only thing I can say is: "Der Asphalt bebt!" (laughing) Q: What´s coming next after the album? A: First of all there it's still some work on the album, as we drop a few more singles. The next one is Razor, coming up May 28th with your remix (Marc DePulse). Then I have a collaboration, to be released in June with Maksim Dark, called "Less Than Zero" with an André Winter remix. Then another single from the Album, with an unreleased track and a remix by Black Asteroid & The Architect called "Explore The Darkside". This ones are set for now and then we see, but I’m not sleeping. Step by step, uhhh baby!

Larry Tee is without a doubt one of the most outrageous artists in Electronic Music. He has shown his ability to control dance floors all around the world, masterfully DJing everything from electro house to techno and outrageous pop mash-ups & remixes. His legendary DJ status precedes him, and his fan base still can't get enough of him. In the early 2000s, Tee created and trademarked the term "electroclash" and it became well known enough that it started to appear in the Oxford Dictionary. He coordinated and managed the 2001 Electroclash Festival, which featured Scissor Sisters, 2manyDJs, Felix Da Housecat, Fischerspooner, Ladytron and Peaches, who all participated in the festival. We're thrilled to welcome Larry Tee alongside Erick Morillo, Lady Starlight, Black Asteroid on 2nd December and even more thrilled that he has prepared this exclusive mix for Egg London...

She's shared the stage with some serious techno heavy hitters such as Black Asteroid and Tommy Four Seven, and also supports the outstanding cutting edge techno label "From 0-1" as art director, which is a firm favourite of ours. After listening to the incredible mix she's provided us with for the show, we're pretty sure you'll want to check out more of Rubidium's music, so get yourselves over to her soundcloud page, and also look up her "Kitzflapper" EP on Anode records, the title track of which is an absolute killer! Also just a quick shout out to friend of the show Si Moore, for joining the dots and helping us feature an artist of Rubidium's calibre on the show. So crank it up and get involved with Decomposed Radio show #030, with Rubidium.

Ida Mandato was born in a small town in Calabria in 1989. After high school, like many guys, she moved to the capital to continue their studies: here, finally away from the closed provincial mentality, and is able to express his artistic personality to bloom. Her sound refined and emotive is what characterizes every September Ranging from ambient sounds, dub techno, dark techno up to the sounds of industrial raw and violent, what we read between the lines is the telling of a story divided between two different worlds: the green landscapes of southern Italy is passed the industrial landscape of cities like Rome and Berlin, another city very dear to the artist. Music is the medium through which it is said: The console her safe haven, a place from which to protect themselves and at the same time be known by the rest of the world. Dj appreciated in the capital and followed internationally, to date he has played alongside the likes of UVB, Bas Mooy, Deepbass, Subjected, Eomac, Stanislav Tolkachev, Ayarcana , VSK, Black Asteroid and many others, always managing to make their mark. Episode - 021 BLACK ASTEROID in the mix Live DJ Set at Quadro / Less n Less presents "BLACK ASTEROID" 27, DEC, 2012 Totally 2hour 30min set, Just publish 1st half of his playing. Genre : Techno Black Asteroid is the brainchild of Bryan Black. Bryan started his career as a sound designer for Prince. While working with Prince at Paisley Park Studios, Bryan learned and honed sound and production skills which inspired him to start his own band. Bryan moved to London England and launched a band called MOTOR. The first MOTOR demo was quickly signed to Novamute. After 2 singles, MOTOR were cata- pulted to the top of the techno world, sharing stages with Daft Punk and Kraftwerk at major festivals, and later embarking on a World tour supporting Depeche Mode in 2009. In early 2011, Bryan decided to start Black Asteroid to showcase an exciting new sound. It was time re- capture the techno world. The debut ‚The Engine EP‘ is the first release out now on CLR. The Engine EP has since topped the charts and is regarded as one of the most daring and successful techno releases of 2011. Dave Clarke, who already played an early demo of the Engine EP long before it came out, contributed a highly energetic remix for the peak time moments of the night. His take on Engine 1 is called “Unsub- scribe Remix” and was produced by himself and Mr. Jones. The Engine remix EP was subsequently released and Black Asteroid quickly found himself on a World tour. Before and after gigs, Bryan started crafting exciting new material to follow up on the success of Engine 1 and Engine 2. Get ready for the next chapter.
