To kick off Season 4 of the In Her Eyes podcast, we begin the journey of self-discovery and the process of tapping into the power of our TRUE SELVES. I have the PERFECT person to bring that conversation to you this week. Ironically, much of our conversation revolves around the beauty of IMPERFECTION, and the lessons that it teaches us about BEAUTY, HARMONY, and the activation of SELF-LOVE. In this episode, Ebonie takes us on a beautiful journey from the awkward little girl who didn't fit in to a woman who lives each day in JOY as a full expression of herself.   She shares with us how each level of deeper understanding of herself, her passions, and the world around led her to the creation of a home that supports her. Ebonie describes her own space as one woven together through form and function to meet all of her needs, beautifully.  Her intentionality of each space is an inspiring lesson that we can all use to take action on our own spaces. She describes, in detail, the daily ritual she uses to activate her Magical Essence.  The power and alignment it brings her. And we discuss how sharing it with the young girls in our lives empowers them to express their own authenticity. And so much more! For the complete show notes: Episode webpage

Ebonie Allard is an award-winning International Master Coach, an author, and an artist. Now in her early 40s, she was mostly raised in the UK, but before she was seven years old she had lived in a house truck, on a commune, in France, New Zealand, Ireland, and England. She now lives in Spain. She says that she has never had a 'proper job' - she's been self-employed, a freelancer, a business owner and an entrepreneur all her life. Ebonie was diagnosed autistic fairly recently, but has always drawn neurodivergent people to her, and her work helps other neurodivergent, creative and spiritual humans to self actualise and enjoy their physical experience. I enjoyed this conversation so much - Ebonie is such a calming presence and brings a wonderful mix of wisdom and down-to-earthness. In our conversation we talk about: ➡ Reframing our past lives and selves ➡ Replacing unhealthy coping mechanisms with healthier ones ➡ Learning to embrace our demons, process emotions and regulate our nervous systems ➡ Removing stigma around meltdowns, stimming and other natural autistic things Squarepeg is a podcast in which neurodivergent women, and trans and nonbinary people, explore navigating a neurotypical world and share their insights, challenges and successes. I hope that these conversations will be inspiring and thought provoking, open you up to new ways of thinking about being neurodivergent, and help you feel more connected to a worldwide community of people with similar experiences. I'm Amy Richards, and after being diagnosed autistic at the age of 37 I'm now on a mission to learn more about different perspectives and issues around being a neurodivergent adult in a world that feels like it doesn't quite fit.   EPISODE LINKS: Ebonie's course, Misfit to Maven: the Fundamentals https://www.ebonieallard.com/the-fundamentals Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eboniealchemy/ This Sacrosanct Life podcast: https://www.ebonieallard.com/podcasts/this-sacrosanct-life  Adulting with Ebonie podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/5BW278BdWdxI4dTuBpc1BY Her book, Misfit to Maven (that we reference in this episode): https://www.ebonieallard.com/misfit-to-maven-book  Her book ‘The Manual of Me®️': https://www.ebonieallard.com/the-manual-of-me   If you'd like to connect or get in touch with Squarepeg, you can find me on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/squarepeg.community/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/squarepegautism  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/squarepegautism/  Or on my website: https://squarepeg.community/    THANK YOU TO MY PATRONS! On the show today is Ebonie Allard, it was lively because Ebonie is a misfit and a Maven with an amazing life story.   Before she was 7 she has lived is a house truck on a commune, she went to a Steiner school. She is a podcast host, artists and a business coach. her big mission is to help 100,000 Misfits know that they belong, live fully rounded, three-dimensional lives that are successful, FUN and self-governed.   This brings me nicely to that topic of self-development.  The one clear message that comes through all of my guests is the drive for progression.   This can come from two directions for some it will be the maintenance of what is, getting comfortable and starting to settle.  This was me.. The other side is the madness of overwhelm, where a monster is created and the head can take no more.  This was Ebonie Both directions lead to dissatisfaction with life and a loss of purpose. It is my belief that we end up in these places because we are not taught how to avoid them. Earlier this year I started with a project called Change Your World Every Day. The main feature of the project is daily coaching delivered at 7 am every weekday morning. Staring the day with positive input is a powerful anchor, the group is encouraged to contribute, give feedback and hold each other accountable. It has been amazing to watch the participants grow and support others in their growth.  If you are looking for something to support your journey I urge you to find something with daily support it makes such a difference. On the subject of Change Your Worlds the normal price is £29.99 month but using the link below will get you 3 months for the price of 2.  Check it out here and use the link below to claim the deal. As you may have guessed from my description of Ebonie is a woman who has always moved fast and taken risks. On this episode of the podcast I talk to Ebonie Allard about self knowledge and creating more alignment in your life. “No matter where you go, you'll be there too so it's useful to know who you are.” If you've ever got to a period in your life when you've looked around and asked yourself the question “is this it?” then you'll be interested in Ebonie's journey of going from misfit to maven. This story is for anyone who's felt like they didn't know where they fit and is searching for their unique place of contribution in the world, a place of authentic success. Its true to say that on a podcast like the top rated business podcast Join Up Doys, I have so many guests who have interesting back stories, but not many that start with “Before I was seven years old I had lived in a house truck, on a commune, in France, in New Zealand, in Ireland, and several homes in England. I had been bathed in a sink, had a pet goose called Lucy, and I think it would be fair to say that my parents gifted me with a curiosity for the world.” So upon hearing this I knew that I had to invite this lady onto the show, but wow what part of her career history do I tell you about in the introduction because without a doubt as she says “Life has been a bit of rollercoaster!” Starting her career after gaining a BA in Theatre Practice and Scenic Art from the Central School of Speech and Drama, she went on to have a successful and (eventually) well paid career as a Freelance TV & Film Production Buyer, Stylist, and Project / Event Manager. She worked hard and played harder. She had motivation by the bucket load. However her energies could only last so long and she would suffer from burn out at the end of every job. She had money, and so she would take herself off to Thailand and engulf herself in fasting and raw food, or go off to Egypt for a yoga retreat. Recharge the batteries to blaze even brighter in the entrepreneurial world. And this was certainly the case, as upon returning she started one of the forerunners in the VA sphere and early adapters to Location Independent Business. As she says “It was a wonderfully brave and stupid thing to do. I was homeless and sofa surfing, massively in debt and knew nothing about running a business. Which meant I had nothing to lose and gave it everything I had. Bootstrapping a business when you are desperate and resourceful can be a wonderful thing, and I was given opportunities to learn from many wildly inspirational Entrepreneurs, Businesses, and Private Clients.” But of course this was just the beginning of everything that would lead her through some seriously dark moments, even contemplating suicide. Her life was a roller coaster of working till she collapsed and then ‘retreating' around the world. And so the time came when she had her first pangs of “Is this it?!” She wasn't satisfied, there was a huge void in her life, she felt empty and in the midst of the impending recession she set up My Girl Friday Ltd, providing Freelance Personal and Virtual Assistance to Creative Businesses & Private Individuals in the UK and across the globe. And that is where we will start today's episode as now life is very different, but how has she made it the life that she wanted? How did she take the entrepreneurial venture, and willingness to put the effort into a new business, but structure it that it didn't bring her to her knees too? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only misfit entrepreneur herself Ebonie Allard.

Are you pursuing perfection or pursuing EXCELLENCE? In this episode, I'm chatting to coach for misfits Ebonie Allard about doing all things "your way".  The key takeaways: Starting a business often comes from wanting to set your own rules and listen to your body, and yourself – when you work, how you work, what you wear, what you eat… but to a certain extent you have to create structure in order to have the freedom. It has to be your choice though. It feels so much more empowering to know that you’ve got a choice rather than feeling like you have to do things a certain way. Set strict boundaries around your working hours with regards to other people. Don’t allow your clients to contact you any time of day and night because that’s when things get crazy. And remember it’s all about the push and pull. If you work really late one day, you can have that morning time back later. We’ve got to make these businesses of ours sustainable! People fall into two camps, do-ers and be-ers. With do-ers, it’s in their blood, they can’t help doing and they will do and do and do until they stop. We have to really encourage them to take a break and to look after themselves. And then you have be-ers who are really good at being in the moment, being present, feeling what’s going on and not necessarily as good at taking action without some kind of discipline involved in that. Finding out where you are on that spectrum and then learning how to pay attention to your body and turning that into a habit is really important. It’s really important to pay attention to whether we’re working smart or whether we’re just working. If you truly want to channel your personality online, you need to listen to the you-isms. Take note of things you say to friends, family, your journal. Pay attention to those language choices and then turn up the volume. -------------------- Join me on Instagram here:  https://www.instagram.com/dairecharlotte/ Sign up for my weekly (ish) jolts of genius here: http://dairepaddy.com/ -------------------- For the full show notes, including all the links mentioned in this episode, go here >> http://dairepaddy.com/episode35 -------------------- If you enjoyed this episode I'd love it if you could: a) Share your favourite moment, takeaway, or place to listen in your Instagram Stories, tagging me (@dairecharlotte) b) Hop over to iTunes and leave me an honest review.

Saying 'no' to one thing, means you can say 'yes' to something else Develop your niche, it will help focus every element of your business; you'll know what your niche is, it'll be a gut feeling of passion Use social media, blogging, vlogging etc to let clients and potential clients not just get to see your skills but to get to know you - people buy from people; BUT don't try doing everything at once, pick the platforms you connect with best and then grow it Grow your email list - stay in communication with those who care about what you have to say Don't be disheartened by not having a big email list that you're writing for - be consistent and useful and it will grow - remember, every success story had to start somewhere Be deliberate about dividing up your income at source: 1)Neccesities (55%), 2)Nest egg savings, 3)Nice to have savings, 4)Having fun money, 5)Professional Development, 6)Charity More from Ebonie Entrepreneur Enabler Ebonie on Twitter Ebonie on Facebook Useful Links "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth" by T Harv Eker The Coaching Academy The Sunday Dispatches Who the hell is Steve Folland?
