Being caught in the whirling vortex of a narcissist can be both damaging and defeating. Without being able to identify and key into the red flags of a narcissist, it can be all too easy to fall into a toxic dynamic. We have seen countless clients navigate this, and we have one of those clients with us today! This week, we are being joined by Kristen Elliot, a client since 2016 who quickly became a close friend. She has experienced first-hand the troubles of navigating a narcissistic relationship, the red-flags of a narcissist, and the little deaths inside that allow us to move past it. The world we live in can be really overwhelming for most of us. Working all day long in front of screens, too much stress, lack of quality sleep and all the unhealthy habits that come with our modern, high-performing lifestyle are just some of the reasons. For highly sensitive souls there are even more reasons to often feel overloaded and overwhelmed as their nervous system is wired to process more information from the environment, and are also able to feel the emotions of the people around them. When we feel overwhelmed it becomes very hard for us to concentrate and perform at our full capacity. That affects our self-esteem by making us feel we are not able to handle the tasks we have to handle. And when the common advice we often get - "well, just break it down into the smallest possible items, and then tackle it one by one" - does not work, we feel even more frustrated. But the truth is this advice can't really work when we are overwhelmed. And no, it is not your fault, it is not because you are weak and unable to do something that may seem so easy to do. Not at all. There is a scientifically proven reason for that. And if you want to learn how to manage overwhelm, forget about that advice. Instead, you can learn how to identify the signs of overwhelm that your system is giving you as early as possible and practice some self-care strategies to beat overwhelm. In this week's episode, Lola dives deep into how to understand what's going on with our body so we can catch the signs of overwhelm, how to stop being detached from our beingness, why we need to take the word “should” out of our vocabulary, how to tell the difference between intuition and overwhelm and what is beneficial stress and how to partner with it. More than that, she reveals the most important overwhelm signs and gives effective self-care solutions to each one of them. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Pricing can be a very tricky thing for any business owner. And when they are sensitive persons who offer services created to help people, setting the right price can be a very difficult problem for them. As highly sensitive souls we want to help everyone, we dream to save the whole world, to make everybody happy and content. But when we also have to make a living out of helping people, as coaches or healers, for example, establishing a price for our services can be really challenging. Most of us have a lot of limiting beliefs regarding this topic. We may think we don't worth too much (as we usually struggle with self-esteem issues), or that people in our audience can't afford to pay a high price for what we offer. We may also feel often confused about what the “right” price may be (and picking a wrong or, worse, an unfair price is the last thing we want to do). But, there are some important things we all must keep in mind.. The first one is that we, as gifted human beings, are unique and absolutely priceless. What we do and who we are cannot be measured in money. The other thing is that we will be surprised how many people can afford to pay a high price to transform their lives into better ones we have right in front of us. At last, but not at least, we need to remember that pricing is a double-sided initiation and a powerful boundary in our business. And what if we told you there is no such thing as “wrong price”? What if you could get something extremely valuable each time you set a price, regardless of what your audience may think about it? Ready to find out more? Ready to take your business to the next level? In this week's episode, Lola dives deep into the problem of pricing and explains why it might be easier to sell higher-level offerings than “more affordable” ones, how to identify our limiting beliefs around pricing and why no price that we choose is a wrong one. She also reveals what is the only thing we need to look for as business owners, why money and worth are not the same thing, and some effective pricing strategies to apply in our business to make it more successful. As coaches and healers, we value transparency and authenticity. We don't want to pretend that our lives are perfect and we have it "together" all the time. We want our audience (and potential clients) to perceive us as genuine human beings who can relate to their struggles. Most of us think that sharing our own experiences and struggles online can be beneficial for our business and that being vulnerable online will make people trust us more. We aim for our audience to see us as warm, sensitive people who can understand their own problems. And yes, if we share these kinds of things in a healthy way, this authenticity can help us grow. But sometimes being vulnerable in our online communities can cost us dearly. We are actually walking on a very fine line when we want to post in a way that is authentic and transparent because at the same time, we don't want to instill a fear that we can't handle the opportunity to work with someone. Sharing the emotions and feelings we struggle with at the moment can create a huge amount of resonance among our audience and it opens up the gateways to have empathic connections with people who are also in a bad place. But this is certainly not a good strategy marketing-wise. Letting our audience know that we are not in a good place at this moment can lead to them feeling like we might not be able to handle their struggles right now. They may not want to bother us with their problems and therefore they are unlikely to sign up for our coaching programs, our online courses, etc. So, how do we walk this fine line of being authentic and still inspire people to work with us? How can we still be vulnerable in a way that BUILDS trust and adds to our bottom line? How can we stay in INTEGRITY while making a living out of helping other people become the best version of themselves? In this week's episode, Lola answers all these questions and much more. She dives deep into why being authentic online can sometimes end up costing us sales in our business and what are the filters we can use when we are thinking about what to share online. More than that, she shares some effective strategies to navigate authenticity, transparency and vulnerability the right way on social media. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Mankind has used the Moon's energy to guide them for millennia. For generations and generations, farmers have planted crops and harvested them at specific times based on the moon. Hunters and fishermen were also tracking the moon to ensure success in their activities that were so important for daily living. There is a strong connection between the Earth and its satellite, and there is also a powerful relationship between the inhabitants of our planet and the energies of the Moon. Among other things, we know that the lunar cycle influences reproduction in fish, melatonin levels in birds, hormonal changes in insects, and also our menstrual cycles. Moreover, the phases of the Moon can affect our mood, our emotions, our health, our sleep and our behavior. Nowadays, many of these things are scientifically proven, but paradoxically, it seems that people have lost that genuine connection with the Moon that they had centuries ago (before the giant leap for mankind was made and we conquered the Earth's only natural satellite that was once believed to be a goddess). Living in big cities and working inside offices all day long makes us often forget that there is a sky above us. But the Moon, with its huge influence on our lives, is still there. And learning how to benefit from the energies it sends to us could make big changes in all areas of our lives. Just like it does for farmers, hunters, or fishermen, the Moon can guide our businesses towards success, regardless of our activity field. By tracking the lunar cycle we can predict when is the best time to start new projects and the Moon's energy can give us a boost or help us find our flow. Moon MAGIC is real and it can bring huge benefits both in our business and personal lives. We just have to learn how to work with the Moon, how to enable the connection we have with its energies and how to predict different events by tracking the lunar cycle. In this week's episode, Lola dives deep into how to understand lunar energy, how to track the Moon cycle, and how to work with the Moon signs and their elements. Plus, she reveals some efficient strategies to plan your business for success using Moon work. So, if you want to plan your business and your life with the help of the Moon, check out this episode to learn how to partner with its MAGIC! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Highly sensitive souls seem to often be attracted to narcissists and involved in toxic relationships in general. This is mainly because narcissists need so much attention, care, and reassurance, while our high level of empathy makes us drawn to helping and caring for others. More than that, we can see through somebody's toxic behaviors into the core of that person, we can see (and fall in love with) the good part in anyone, with the potential each person holds. Sometimes the deeper that good part is buried, the more we fall for that potential, beautiful soul we will actually never get to know in real life. Also, many of us struggle with low self-esteem issues, insecure attachment, and people pleasing patterns - things that also make us prone to get into toxic relationships. Once we get there, it is very hard for us to get out or to make those changes that could transform the relationship into a better one. But admitting that there is something wrong, identifying some narcissistic traits in our partner and some toxic patterns in our relationship is an important step. So, if you've already done this, the question becomes: “Now, what? What should I do now? How do I handle this situation?” This is certainly a difficult moment for anyone. Deciding what to do next with a relationship that doesn't work anymore and preparing for a serious conversation about this is not an easy thing to do. And, if you are a highly sensitive soul and your partner is a narcissist (or a person who shows narcissistic traits), things can be even harder. But having this conversation and deciding what to do next is a must if we don't want to stand in the way of our own happiness. Hoping things will change by magic or wishing one day we'll wake up next to that wonderful person we once fell in love with (instead of this stranger that took their place sometimes along the way), is not realistic and certainly not healthy. We know that this situation is never going to change unless we do something about it. But how do we know what is the best thing to do? Do we need to move out of the relationship? And if so, what is the best way to do this? How do we leave a narcissist? And how do we move on? In this week's episode, Lola answers these questions and much more. After revealing the most important narcissistic traits to look for in your partner in last week's episode, this time she dives deep into the three-step process for transitioning out of a toxic relationship in order to finally be able to live the life (and find the relationship) that you deserve. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It all started like a fairytale. You met this charming person and they made you feel so special. They were so good, so smart, so caring, and so loving. You felt that unique connection and you truly believed that you have finally found the love of your life. It was all so romantic, so amazingly perfect. Yes. It WAS. At the beginning. That beginning you are playing again and again in your mind and can't understand where it went. How did that wonderful person disappear? When did this “evil twin” replace them? How can your partner be so different from the person you once fell in love with to the point that they feel like a totally different person? Have you done something wrong? When did the fairytale turn into this horror movie you live in today? If you resonate with this story, you might be already asking yourself: “Is my partner a narcissist? And if so, what do I do now?”. Unfortunately, highly sensitive souls seem to often be attracted to narcissists. It is also very hard for us to end a toxic relationship. And this is not because we are weak or easy to be manipulated, or whatever others may think about us. The real reason is that we can see deep inside people. That means we can see the good part in anyone, no matter how deep it may be buried. We can see through somebody's toxic behaviors into the core of that person. We see the potential that they hold, the love-worthiness that they represent, and the soul that's inside of them. We can see it and we can love it - to a point that it becomes really toxic for us. Our sensitive superpower can work against us in these situations, because it makes it hard to differentiate between the reality that we live in and this other potential reality we can feel. This makes it easy for them to manipulate us and more than that, we might start gaslighting ourselves, too. Of course, if your relationship isn't working or if you feel there is something wrong, it doesn't necessarily mean that your partner is a narcissist. A narcissistic personality disorder is a diagnosis that should be given by a specialist. However, even if our partner isn't a textbook narcissist, they can show toxic narcissist traits that are just as harmful for the relationship. In fact, all of us demonstrate toxic narcissism to some degree or another in different types of situations. So, before we start armchair diagnosing anyone, there are some important patterns to identify, both in our partner AND in us (this can really help us become a better version of ourselves) ... In this week's episode, Lola dives into what narcissism is, why empaths are attracted to narcissists, and what “love bombing” is and how it can lead to a toxic relationship. Also, she reveals five signs that your partner might be a narcissist and what we need to do to get out of a toxic relationship. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
“I shouldn't have done that!” “Oh, if only I would have…” “I was so stupid to do that!” “I can never do it right.” “I will never figure this out.” “ I'm always gonna screw this up.” “I am worthless, I should definitely give up…” Do you have these kinds of negative thoughts each time you do something regrettable or make a ‘wrong' decision? As highly sensitive souls, we are prone to extreme perfectionism and self-criticism. And while in healthy doses, self-criticism can be a good thing. It can help us achieve our goals and become better people. However, constantly striving for perfection can set off a spiral of negative thoughts that will eventually lead to negative behaviors and self sabotage. Like anything else, when done in excess, self-criticism and perfectionism can make us stand in our own way to success, and it can easily become a pattern of self-abuse and self-abandonment. Beating ourselves up each time we fall, each time we make a small mistake, and each time we make a wrong decision is certainly not healthy behavior Do you struggle with this? Do you go into spirals of “should have,” “would have,” “didn't,” and shaming or judging yourself for decisions that were off track for you? Do you often fall into a shame spiral and then you feel ashamed you were in a shame spiral? Are you judging yourself because you have self-judgment? Are you familiar with this toxic cycle of self-sabotage that seems so hard to break? Well, most highly sensitive souls and empaths know this story. Dealing with regrets can be very tricky for us, because we have this tendency of beating ourselves up and falling into toxic spirals, instead of taking responsibility for our mistake, learning our lesson and moving on with the determination to do better next time. Regrets are not necessarily a bad thing. On the contrary, never experiencing regret or guilt (if that is even possible without being a narcissist) will not help us become better persons after we do something wrong. Feeling regret is a common human emotion that should function like a guide and a teacher. But there are regrets and regrets. Good ones and bad ones, real ones and false ones, useful ones and toxic ones. Real, genuine regrets are designed to help us grow, to help us realign, and learn from that experience. We all know that the most important lessons in life come in these kinds of moments, when things don't go as we wanted them to. As opposed to that, false regrets are very toxic and will always stay in our way to become better persons. But how can we differentiate between these two types of regrets? And how do we deal with regrets without beating ourselves up, without falling into unhealthy spirals? In this week's episode, Lola dives deep into what regrets really are and where do they come from, what the meta shame spiral is and how can we pull ourselves out of it, what is a real regret and what is a false regret and how to differentiate between the two. Plus, she reveals some efficient strategies to help you use regret as a teacher and some useful tips on how to make powerful decisions. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Did you know that the biggest violator of your boundaries is actually yourself? As HSPs or empaths, being so connected to everyone and everything makes it hard to connect to ourselves and our own needs. But to be able to follow our calling as sensitive souls, we really need to set better boundaries with ourselves. For HSPs and empaths setting healthy boundaries is usually challenging. It is difficult for us to understand that most people are not capable of feeling what our needs and expectations are (because we CAN feel what theirs are, right?) and that we need to express these things through verbal communication (no, people usually don't read minds, body language, energy and vibes like we do!). So we blame this insensitive world for breaking our boundaries over and over again. But even though the world can be really mean sometimes and there are some people who take advantage of our sensitivity, the truth is that we are responsible for our lack of solid and healthy boundaries. And the first thing we need to look into when it comes to these issues is: do we have solid boundaries with ourselves? As highly sensitive souls, we know that self-care is very important. Keeping ourselves safe and healthy, making sure we do not get overstimulated or overwhelmed are some of the things we need to really pay attention to in order to function at our highest potential. But an essential form of self-care (which actually underlies all of the above) is setting healthy boundaries with ourselves. Boundaries help you create a safe space for yourself in your own life, and if you want to be able to establish healthy limits in your relationships you need to start with the most important one: the relationship with yourself. This is tricky and challenging for a highly sensitive soul. Most of us have been taught that we're worthless, we've been taught that we need to toughen up, that we're too sensitive, that we don't have what it takes, that we don't matter, that our voice is never going to be heard, that we're going to be invisible. Growing up with these kinds of messages created a belief system that makes us think we are not good enough. So, the relationship with ourselves is the last one we think about. Putting off things that we want to do for ourselves while our calendar is overloaded with other people's needs, letting our past dictate our future, or perceiving our limiting beliefs as facts are some of the signs that we might have troubles with the boundaries with ourselves. Want to find out more of these patterns and what to do to set better boundaries with yourself? In this week's episode, Lola dives deep into what boundaries with ourselves are, who are the people who have the biggest issue with our boundaries, why lack of boundaries with ourselves attract narcissists to HSPs and why setting boundaries with ourselves is so difficult sometimes. More than that, she reveals what are the most important signs that we are having trouble setting boundaries with ourselves and some effective strategies to help us establish solid and healthy limits with us and the world around us. It is pretty common for an HSP or an empath to go from being the uncool, “too sensitive” kid to becoming that cool, fun and detached person who is so easy to get along with, who is friends with everyone and seems to have it all. How does this happen? Well, being a sensitive child or teenager can be really difficult and quite painful sometimes. When all the other kids call us “crybabies” (and maybe bully us because of that), when the adults advise us to “toughen up”, when we are told we are “too sensitive” and we “shouldn't care that much”, what can we do? A common way to cope with that, a way to protect ourselves from all this pain that “caring too much” seems to bring with it, is trying to reduce how much we care by tuning out, numbing out, and chilling out. In one word: by becoming the “cool kids”. For an HSP or an empath, acting cool is actually a form of protection from being rejected by others, a way to easily become friends with everyone, a pattern of people-pleasing. Are you an HSP who plays this role of a cool, “go with the flow” person? And is this person really you, does this “cool kid” feel like yourself deep inside? Or is it just a mask that protects you from feeling “too much”, from being “too sensitive”, from being that uncool kid who is still silently hurting? Being “cool” means being cold and you, as a highly sensitive soul, are anything but cold. No matter how much you pretend you are made of ice, you have a WARM soul that was sent in this world to shine. And yes, there is a way to be uncool, to be WARM, to be yourself and also feel happy. There is a way to stop being a people pleaser and start leaving the MAGIC life you were created for. In this week's episode, Lola shares her own experience as an empath who used to be a “cool girl” and the lessons she learned from this experience, she explains why HSPs numb out their feelings and emotions, how trying to “go with the flow” can lead to depression, and why being warm is healthier for an HSP than being cool. Plus, she helps you identify what type of empath you are in order to start your people-pleasing recovery. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Giving is the best way to show kindness. This is something we all have been taught from a young age. But is over-giving a form of generosity or is it something different? Generosity makes us feel good. It is scientifically proven that doing an act of generosity raises our levels of happiness and emotional well-being, it reduces psychological problems, and even releases feel-good hormones. But what about when we over-give? Well, it seems the effects of over-giving are really different. Feeling angry, frustrated and restful are just some of them. So, while being a generous person is a wonderful thing, giving too much can get us caught in unhealthy cycles. Giving in when our child is having a tantrum in the middle of the street, still helping a former client that is not paying for our services anymore, or saying “yes” to something that our partner wants to do, even if we don't want to do it, are all patterns of over-giving in your relationships. Over-giving is something that most of us, HSPs and empaths, are guilty of. Although we know we cannot help everyone, that's exactly what many of us feel like we should be able to do. And we spend a lot of our time and energy doing it. Because we have kind hearts, because, as highly sensitive souls we can feel what others feel and it pains us to see people suffering. Especially when there might be something that we could do to alleviate that pain. Unfortunately, in many cases, trying to save the world in our over-giving way, ends up depleting us and even making us sick. Both physically and emotionally. But how can we save the world, how can we protect our loved ones if we are not healthy, strong and happy? Is there a way to stop sabotaging ourselves and our relationships by always giving more than we need to? Well, as in many other situations, the first step is awareness. We will first need to identify the patterns of overgiving in all our relationships. And this can be tricky because sometimes there are some surprising ways that this actually shows up. To find out what these patterns are and what to do to change this behavior, listen to the newest episode of the Moon + Manifest Podcast! Lola reveals some of the physical and emotional indicators that you are over-giving and the most important signs of over-giving as an entrepreneur, as a parent, and as a partner. Being a highly sensitive soul is definitely a blessing and a GIFT. Many of us recognize this and are thankful for all of the great things that come with being a sensitive human. But, we also know that life in a non-HSP culture can be really challenging sometimes. And there are those moments when this wonderful trait feels more like a burden and we just wish and dream that someday this world will change, will become more sensitive, will understand and appreciate us for what we are. Well, the bad news is that it's very unlikely that the world will change for us. It is how it is, and maybe it doesn't have to be different. Maybe there is a reason why we are just a small percent of sensitives in a non-sensitive world. Who knows? What we know almost for certain is that the world is not going to change for us. But there is also good news: we have the power to make a positive change in our lives so we can always overcome these challenges. For that, we have to realize that our sensitivity is actually our biggest strength. If it doesn't feel like that yet, there are two powerful questions we need to ask ourselves, two questions that can absolutely shift our entire trajectory in life. They are not only powerful strategies to get underneath our subconscious programming, but also ways to rewire our relationship to ourselves and others in this world. To find out what these questions are, listen in to the newest episode of the Moon + Manifest podcast. Inside, Lola explains what these powerful questions are, why we need to answer them and how they can help us develop our resilience as a sensitive soul so that we can stop getting in the way of our own success and overcome all the challenges of living in a world that doesn't always understand and appreciate our MAGIC. “Your sensitivity is a superpower”. As an HSP how many times did you hear or read this phrase? How many times did you even say it to yourself or to the people around you? Countless times, right? But let's be honest for a moment. Do you really believe this? Do you really feel like your sensitivity is a superpower, a blessing, a gift you should love and celebrate? Well, you certainly feel it sometimes. But do you feel this all the time? Are you ALWAYS thankful you were born with this trait? If your answer is “No”, don't worry! You are certainly not alone. Most highly sensitive souls struggle with this. Far from feeling like a blessing, there are many times when we feel like our sensitivity is more like a curse, like something that makes us stand in our own way to success and to happiness. But you know that your sensitivity should be a superpower, right? You are convinced it should. So, why doesn't it feel like that most of the time? Well, first of all, having a superpower is not always something easy to live with. I mean even Superman struggled with self-isolation and hiding his true identity behind Clark's glasses, right? But does it really have to be like this? Do you really have to struggle? What should you do to partner with your sensitivity, so it can truly become a superpower? Listen to this new episode to find out the answers to these questions and much more! Lola explains why your sensitivity doesn't feel like a superpower yet, what is happening with our sensitivity in its pre-superpower state, what our real sensitive superpower is and much more. Plus, we teach you the art of being able to navigate as you are, without needing to toughen up and we reveal the three steps you should take in order to learn how to partner with your sensitivity. “If you want a better life, you have to change your habits and improve your mindset.” How often did you hear this advice? And how does it make you feel deep inside? Do you resonate with it? Do you really believe that this would work for you? Maybe your answer is “No”, or maybe you even tried to follow this advice and didn't really get the results you expected. If that is the case, don't worry! There is nothing wrong with you! It doesn't mean that you don't want to change, or that you don't have what it takes to create positive changes in your life. You just need to go about it differently. If you are an HSP or an empath your nervous system is different and more wired for protection. That means it can prevent you from going into an unfamiliar place or navigating uncertain territory just to keep you safe. Even though you might try a new habit, and you might try some positive mindset techniques, if your nervous system doesn't feel safe with the success that those habits or patterns of thinking are going to lead to, then you are going to get in your own way. So, what should you do instead? How can a highly sensitive soul feel empowered to create the life that they want and DESERVE to have? Listen to this new episode to find out the answers to these questions and much more! Lola is going to explain how mainstream personal development advice can misdirect HSPs and empaths and why trying to change habits or mindset is totally backwards for neurodivergent people. She will also talk about some of the most common signs that your nervous system might be more wired for protection than you think. Plus, she will reveal a “manifestation” practice that will take you farther in a year than vision boarding ever could! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries sounds very challenging for a highly sensitive soul because our boundaries can be full of holes, confusing, or nonexistent. HSPs and empaths need healthy and solid boundaries to be able to create the deep CONNECTIONS their souls need. Does the idea of boundaries sound kind of confusing to you? Is it hard for you to build healthy boundaries? Do you usually find it difficult to say “No,” just because you are afraid of hurting someone's feelings or because you are always worried about what people think about you? Well, you are not alone! Most highly sensitive people are struggling with this issue, operating with polarized boundaries that are toxic and unhealthy, instead of setting resilient ones. The good news is that you have the power to CHANGE this and learn how to set and maintain healthy boundaries as a highly sensitive person. In this week's episode, Lola dives deep into what boundaries are, how they function, what they are made from and how they can help you become a better version of yourself. Plus, we'll reveal some effective strategies to start building healthy boundaries that will help you develop your amazing POWER to create deep, genuine, and special connections. Purpose is defined as “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” Many of us spend lifetimes in the agonizing and sometimes elusive pursuit of purpose. We seek it in our jobs, personal lives, goals, and ambitions. But is purpose all it's really cracked up to be? Is it a ‘missing link' that can be found? In this week's episode, Lola breaks the myth around purpose by reminding us that sourcing a sense of belonging from what we do, and not from who we really are, is a trap. and that the real key to purpose lies in the alternative definition — “a person's sense of resolve or determination” (supported by resilience) — is the key. If you feel like you're stuck in an endless loop of trying to derive meaning from everyday drudgery that may be bordering on madness, this episode offers you a way out. You'll discover how to build resilience and arm yourself with fortitude and awareness to ensure that you always stay in tune with who you really are, and what your true purpose is! Gaslighting, a term you've probably seen thrown around quite a bit...but what does it actually mean? Gaslighting put simply, is a pattern of manipulation that causes someone to doubt themselves. Most of the time this comes from outside sources such as family, friends, co-workers, or even our intimate partners, but what if over time this pattern no longer comes from outside sources? What if we began to manipulate ourselves to sow the seeds of doubt in our own minds? Could you subconsciously begin to Gaslight yourself? As empaths and sensitive souls, we are especially vulnerable to suffer from gaslighting. There is a multitude of ways that we can start to gaslight ourselves, so how do we identify them? How can we learn to decipher what thoughts are from our true selves, and what thoughts are conjured from our own self-doubt? How do you stop over-rationalizing my intuition, and begin to trust your own gut feelings? Luckily on this week's podcast, Lola is going to answer all of these questions and give you tips on how to break free from your inner glass ceiling. Intentions and knowledge are as good as the requisite action, so be prepared to take smoke actionable steps and manifest a change to stop gaslighting yourself. The modern workplace can feel overwhelming enough as an empath, not to mention landing the job to begin with! If you're an empath or highly sensitive person, you may have experienced struggles with the job process. That's why we are going to talk about navigating the workplace and answer why no one wants to hire you as an empath. Many of us have experienced the dilemma of choosing to either be an empath and be true to ourselves, or to be employed. Finding that middle ground can feel unobtainable, so we default to disconnect from ourselves for the sake of employment. This is not only unhealthy, but disconnects us from our true self. Empathy is currently the #1 skill being recruited in corporate America, which empaths have in spades! So why are empaths still struggling to find and maintain careers, get promotions, or even get paid their worth? Are you ready to become an outrageously awesome hire? In this week's episode, Lola explains why empaths struggle in the modern workplace, how to discover what feelings are your own and not someone else's, finding a healthy place of empowerment, the importance of setting boundaries and their purpose, and establishing resilience as an empath. Prepare to learn how to feel your own feelings, connect to yourself, and to grow into your best work self. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Have you ever felt the need to please, placate, or help other people at the expense of your own needs or desires? This pattern is called people-pleasing, and in this episode, I'm going to show you how to stop people-pleasing in your own life. Sometimes it can feel like you are locked into a battle of either making yourself happy OR making everyone else happy. This is a reality that many empaths and highly sensitive people face on a daily basis. Because you can feel other people's emotions and energies so strongly, shielding yourself from their unhappiness, unease, judgment, and misunderstandings through subconscious people-pleasing is a way that your nervous system helps you feel safe. So, how can you talk about things or make decisions that could be triggering, upsetting, or insight judgment from other people, without being paralyzed by their discomfort? Are you ready to learn how to stop people-pleasing? In this week's episode, Lola explains exactly what people-pleasing is, why we subconsciously do it, the “shadow” side of people-pleasing, and how to let go of taking responsibility for other people's feelings. Get ready to take a deep dive into one of your nervous system's most confusing defense mechanisms! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

As a culture, we have lost the capacity to cultivate stillness. Societal programming has moved us into a mindset of DOING rather than BEING, and many of us feel like we’re running out of time and space to rest. But as our guest speaker so beautifully explained, “It is our birthright to deeply rest.” In this week’s episode, we are blessed by the inspiring presence of Tracee Stanley—author, yoga instructor, and facilitator of rest. Tracee invites us to experience the radiance that follows when we choose to prioritize stillness and shares with us the tools she uses to support herself and others on this journey! Listen in as Lola and Tracee discuss the importance of embracing quiet in a loud world! Tracee Stanley was introduced to the practice of yoga nidra in 2001. She immediately recognized it as a healing salve for the world and began to incorporate it into her life and her yoga teaching. Fia was born in 1994 in Kista, Sweden. She began playing the oboe and writing songs at the age of 10. During her teenage years she picked up the guitar and piano being part of different ensembles while attending the music program at Westerlundska High School. She released her solo debut ”Made of Stars” in 2016 independently with the support of fans, and in 2017 Fia garnered even more widespread acclaim with the follow up ”Legacy of Light”. At this point Fia was a known name in the personal development community and her star continued to rise with ”Waterfall of Wisdom” released in 2019 which wrapped up the acoustic album trilogy.
