Weniger bekannt hingegen sind die Konsolenportierungen der Spielereihe, die teilweise kaum etwas mit den Hauptspielen zu tun haben, sondern… sagen wir, eigenartige Experimente wagen. Die Krönung dieser kuriosen Seitenstraße der Spielegeschichte ist Die Sims 2 für Nintendo DS. Uff. Erschienen 2005 lockte es Fans der damals bereits irre erfolgreichen Reihe mit dem Versprechen, die Abenteuer der Sims auch auf dem tragbaren Nintendo DS erleben zu können. In Wirklichkeit aber wartete auf KäuferInnen ein verstörender Fiebertraum voller Aliens, Analsonden (wirklich), Mordaufträge, Mafiosi und surrealer Dialogzeilen, auf die David Lynch bis heute neidisch ist. Kein Quatsch, all das stimmt. Geraldine und Dom sind abgetaucht und haben sich dieses Spiel und seine Besonderheiten genau angesehen.
