We have known Matt for several years, and fish a lot of the same grounds throughout Massachusetts and Cape Cod Bay. Matt's offshore fishing career began during his childhood summers on Cape Cod with his family. Over the years his affinity for the ocean left him wanting more and eventually he transitioned from  recreational and commercial striped bass fishing, to the adrenaline packed pursuit of light tackle bluefin tuna and taking out clients for hire. Today, Matt is a full time charter fisherman and guide. He runs over 150 trips a season, with most of his trips being light tackle bluefin tuna trips; specifically targeting bluefin using casting and jigging tactics. Matt owns and operates a 27' Onslow Bay, and has several other charter captains and run and gun boats under his wing.Matt is a wealth of knowledge and is extremely passionate about all types of fishing. In this conversation, Matt takes us through his charter fishing program. We talk about different tactics that we use for chasing striped bass and tuna throughout New England. Matt goes into detail on how he approaches light tackle tuna fishing. He talks about everything from rigging, finding fish, to approaching schools of busting tuna. Today I am going to try writing a shorter synopsis of the show. I am a writer at heart so I like providing a robust essay to go with the show, but I may be driving away first-time listeners with so much text. So, for the next few weeks, I am going to write shorter show descriptions to see how it goes. On today's show I open with a statement from Mike Rowe on Trade Schools and how they are not where all of the anti-Semitism is taking place. Learning how to work with you hands is noble and cannot be replaced with AI. The easiest way to break the human spirit is to tell a person they are worthless? What's the difference between that and these college professors saying the same thing about our nation? A judge in New York has decided there is no 2nd Amendment in her courtroom. The Federalist has a piece on the policy about-face of Speaker Johnson, but I point out they missed what I already brought to you this past Monday. Judge Merchan is refusing to let Trump's lawyers subpoena documents from Stormy Daniels. Plus, Bragg's team tanked their own case by admitting the “other crime” listed in the indictment was actually about protecting Trump's campaign status. Not surprisingly, we just discovered a cabal of Trump-hating media commentators have been meeting weekly over the past two years to discuss ways of bringing down the former president. Judge Aileen Cannon has released several unredacted documents in the Mar-a-Lago Confidential documents case and they reveal what my audience has already known for a long time now – Trump did nothing wrong and the White House has been coordinating this case from the very beginning. In closing, I have two Biden sound bites from the campaign trail. The first gaff is him asking, “How many times does he have to prove we can't be trusted?" The second is his most recent example of reading the stage directions off the teleprompter as though there were meant to be part of the speech. This week we decided to skip the trivia episode until later in December and talk some more fishing and hunting.
