Thank you for tuning into the SeaBros Fishing Podcast! On this episode we had the pleasure of having a conversation with local captain Matt Perachio of Tighten Up Charters, Cape Cod. We have known Matt for several years, and fish a lot of the same grounds throughout Massachusetts and Cape Cod Bay. Matt's offshore fishing career began during his childhood summers on Cape Cod with his family. Over the years his affinity for the ocean left him wanting more and eventually he transitioned from recreational and commercial striped bass fishing, to the adrenaline packed pursuit of light tackle bluefin tuna and taking out clients for hire. Today, Matt is a full time charter fisherman and guide. He runs over 150 trips a season, with most of his trips being light tackle bluefin tuna trips; specifically targeting bluefin using casting and jigging tactics. Matt owns and operates a 27' Onslow Bay, and has several other charter captains and run and gun boats under his wing.Matt is a wealth of knowledge and is extremely passionate about all types of fishing. In this conversation, Matt takes us through his charter fishing program. We talk about different tactics that we use for chasing striped bass and tuna throughout New England. Matt goes into detail on how he approaches light tackle tuna fishing. He talks about everything from rigging, finding fish, to approaching schools of busting tuna. Recently Matt and his crew have started an online resource for everything light tackle tuna fishing called Bluefin Plus. If you are a light tackle junky, make sure you check it out. This conversation with Matt was awesome and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!Stay Tight,The Sears BrothersSponsors, Information, and Links from this podcast episode:Guest:Captain Matt Perachio@tightenupcharterscc@bluefin_plushttps://www.tightenupcharterscc.com/Podcast Social Media:SeaBrosFishing: @seabrosfishingMBG Fishing Charters: @massbayguidesBryan: @mbgbryanTaylor: @mbgtaylorMonahan's Marine@monahansmarine MBG24 for 10% Off in StoreMass Bay GuidesUltimate Fishing Adventures @massbayguidesBlack Oak LEDPremium Marine LightingGiantbluefin 20% OffAfuera Coffee Company massbayguides 15% Off First Coffee Order Rhodan MarineRhodan HD GPS Anchor+® Trolling Motor@rhodanmarine L.T. After many months long wait, F-16s have finally arrived in Ukraine. How are the Ukrainians likely to use them and what are the challenges and opportunities presented by the introduction of this new weapons platform? Dmitri Alperovitch talks with Justin Bronk, Senior Research Fellow for Airpower and Technology at RUSI and and the editor of a just released book "The Air War in Ukraine." They discussed why F-16s will not play a transformative role on the battlefield, why Ukraine still needs Swedish Gripens, the opportunities for the use of Harpoons on F-16s to target Black Sea Fleet, opportunities for integration of Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles, the growing danger presented by Russian surveillance drones penetrating deeper and deeper into Ukrainian territory which is driving the urgency for development of anti-UAV UAV solutions, PATRIOT battery performance so far in Ukraine and discussion on the longer-term future of air power and integration challenges of combat jets with unmanned loyal wingman systems. In Hour 1 Tobin reflects on last nights experience form the Bayside Parking Garage, to Steph Curry's epic warm up, the return of the ACTUAL best shooter in the NBA and back to the Parking Garage. Spo claimed to have the answers to the test and he proved it yesterday as he unleashed his ignitable weapon, Duncan Robinson. Leroy then scolds Tobin for flip floppin on Duncs while he defends his actions. We then sharpen our Harpoons as Captain Chris Grier goes whale hunting yet again picking up the biggest available name on the trade block yesterday and solidifying the defense. The guys discuss what the implications of this pick up are for the foreseeable future. We then get back into last night's HEAT victory to close the hour out.
In Hour 4 we kick things off with a bit of breaking news in the NBA as the Brooklyn Nets fired Head Coach Steve Nash. A series of strange events seeing as KD asked for the Coach to be removed and was denied in the Offseason. Now weeks later the organization has changed direction and the the guys discuss the possible fallout from this move. Shall we Sharpen the Harpoons? The guys break down the effect Steve Nash had as a Coach and whether or not he's replaceable. EU oil ban ‘in days', Russia-China closer The European Union is likely to agree an embargo on Russian oil imports “within days”, as Moscow says it anticipates its economic ties growing with China after being isolated by the West over its invasion of Ukraine. The comments came as US President Joe Biden toured Asia, where he said he would be willing to use force to defend Taiwan against Chinese aggression – a comment that seemed to stretch the limits of the ambiguous US policy towards the self-ruled island. A pledge by Denmark to send Harpoon anti-ship missiles and a launcher to Ukraine, announced by the United States on Monday. The Harpoons, made by Boeing, could be used to push the Russian navy away from Ukraine's Black Sea ports, allowing exports of grain and other agricultural products to resume. Don't allow a crisis to go to waste. The Russia/Ukraine war, Monkeypox/Covid pandemic are all used by puppet masters such as the World Economic Forum to shape the Global future. The end goal is a Global Government and a One World Leader. This is just my opinion. Two years ago, the TruNews team was in Davos Switzerland as guests of the Trump White House to attend the 2020 World Economic Forum from January 20 to Jan 24. Weeks earlier we reported for the first time about rumors of a coronavirus outbreak in China. We were nervous in Davos as we witnessed members of the Chinese delegation coughing among the world dignitaries. Months earlier – October 18, 2019 – the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise that involved a coronavirus. What a coincidence that weeks after the Bill Gates event, coronavirus infections started in China. Here we go again. The World Economic Forum is meeting in Davos next week after a two-year hiatus because of travel restrictions. And guess what? There's a mysterious outbreak of monkeypox in numerous nations. Was there a monkeypox tabletop pandemic exercise? Yes, there was. Rick Wiles, Doc Burkhart. Airdate 5/20/22.

Good ole Cap'n Chris sharpens the Harpoons to make one of the biggest off season splashes in Dolphins HISTORY with the acquisition of Tyreek Hill! In 15 minutes of HEAT we address not only the embarrassing loss against a starless warriors but the Heated altercation between Erik Spoelstra, Jimmy Butler and Udonis Haslem. We hear from a few members of the Locker room as they detail their point of view on the in house scuffle and what that means for the chemistry of the team.
Did you ever receive your 'Hogwarts Letter' in the mail? On this week's episode of 4-Thirty, Ben teaches Pat all he knows about the wild wizarding world featured in J.K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter' book series. The guys talk some Quidditch, compare the film adaptations to the novels, and cover a plot hole or two along the way, while also dishing on the usual dose of strange news stories and happenings that only Ben and Pat can discuss. Should Harry Potter really have been the main character in the series? What compels reasonable parents to continue to send their young witches and wizards to Hogwarts? How many times is 'too many times' to get arrested in one day? For answers to these questions and a muggle-load more, be sure to give this week's episode a listen!

Gediminas Vaitiekunas is a hunter through and through. He is Chairman of one of four hunting associations in Lithuania who fights for hunters rights! This is a wonderful insight into how this successful businessman discovered hunting quite late in life but has experienced hunting whales, bears, wolves as well as deer and moose! Keen to preserve traditions as well as ensuring he passes his skills on to his son, this was a fascinating 30mins. Enjoy.

Max rushes to the back of the tanker, hoping to cut the lines that impede the War Rig’s escape, but for every line cut, another one replaces it. As Max struggles against the plow cars, a large tow truck, brimming with harpoons, attacks the Rig, tearing away a large portion of the roof and killing another one of the Vuvalini. Max is able to cut the last harpoon chain as the polecats arrive. Special Guests: Rob, Joe, and Duff from A Free Podcast

If you like The Rolling Stones or Bob Dylan, you’ll like Ezra Furman & The Harpoons. A band that our own Matt Mentele has worked with in the past, comes in hot with 2008 hit Take Off Your Sunglasses. Heavy harmonica mixed with mumble lyrics and a “live band jammy” vibe this song is great for road tripping or just keeping a party in good vibes. #GoHaveADance and find Ezra Furman performing at The Teragram Ballroom Saturday May 4th. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mentele-and-the-hayes/support

"among the harpooners my research was nearing its end" [BLAC] We have one of the most iconic openings in the Sherlock Holmes stories in "The Adventure of Black Peter" - the year '95, Holmes in disguise, returning from the butcher's with his weapon of choice: a harpoon. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle pulled on his own knowledge of whaling vessels and voyages (as referenced in an earlier IHOSE episode), but how likely was the occurrence which we learned of in this story? The era of hand-held harpooning was over by that time. How does one go about practice-harpooning a pig in polite London society? And what of the physics of the demonstration? These questions and more await in this episode of Trifles... Please leave us a rating and review on the podcast player of your choice, and consider supporting our efforts through Patreon or PayPal. Please note that this is called the Remmcast, rather than the Arriyemcast, for little better reason than that it sounds better. R.E.M. split up this week, which is sort of like the death of an elderly relative: you know it's sad, and you mourn the loss, but they hadn't been themselves for a while, everyone knew it was probably coming, and maybe it's for the best after all. Due to not really wanting to pontificate too much, I haven't really produced what could be in any way described as a 'career retrospective' or anything, nor have I really gone into much about their contemporaries or influences nor indeed the enduring influence they themselves have had. Nope, I have simply recorded a podcast as per usual, but with three R.E.M. songs in it because they were fucking brilliant. 01. Ezra Furman & the Harpoons - Hard Time in a Terrible Land (00.26) 02. Burning Yellows - False Horizons (04.33) 03. R.E.M. - Perfect Circle (11.44) 04. The Twilight Sad - Kill it in the Morning (17.52) 05. Niwel Tsumbu - It's All Vibrations (23.35) 06. R.E.M. - Star Me Kitten (33.03) 07. The Fair Ohs - I'm a Woman, I'm Your Wife (38:15) 08. Zoey Van Goey - You Told the Drunks I Knew Karate (GRNR Remix) (39.10) 09. The Whines - Electric Current (45.02) 10. Youthfall - Secular Child (49.01) 11. R.E.M. - Parakeet (59.47)
This is called the Fullcast for no better reason than that I tried to fit far too many songs onto the playlist. I've have used half the Palmist Records stable if possible, but eventually decided to settle for one single track. There's always next week. I didn't even make room for a song from the new Clap Your Hands Say Yeah record, although to be fair I haven't really listened to that enough to really know what I think about it, so maybe that would have been hasty. If anything this reminded me of the really early podcasts, when I tried to squish two hours of music into a single recording, and the things were just sprawling behemoths of wittering and tuneage. I can't say I regret the decision to trim it down to either ten songs or an hour. 01. Beaters - Dark Haunter (00.22) 02. Body Wash - Cool Bike (06.34) 03. High Pop - For Jord (08.23) 04. Django Django - Waveforms (11.35) 05. Steven Malkmus & the Jicks - No One Is (As I Are Be) (17.31) 06. Milkshakes - Track 1 (24.57) 07. Kurt Vile - The Creature (27.37) 08. Ezra Furman & the Harpoons - Don't Turn Your Back on Love (34.41) 09. Steel Phantoms - Bedouin (41.50) 10. Eagulls - Possessed (47.24) 11. Sands - Fares & Tolls (53.15) 12. U2 - Lemon (60.17)
I am learning to despise hotel internet. Whether I book myself and end up staying in a fucking Travelodge or Mrs. Toad books and we end up staying on one of the larger guest suites at Buckingham fucking Palace, absolutely all of them have such risibly bad internet connections that recording a podcast leaves me tearing my fucking hair out. I couldn't even get the online image editor to load properly, so the image is that rather pathetic, borderline clipart stinker you see in the top right hand corner. Dreadful. My art teachers would be justifiably disappointed. Anyhow, this is called the Plancast for one simple and far from compelling reason: the fact that Mrs. Toad and I are down in London and have had to be clinically heartless in who we do and don't see. We don't exactly have lots of friends down South, but still far too many to see in one weekend and at times in the past we have tried to do too much and ended up being inadvertently rude to everyone. 01. Love Inks - Blackeye (00.06) 02. Dubstar - The Day I See You Again (04.57) 03. Rev I.B. Ware with Wife and Son - I Wouldn't Mind Dying ( But I Gotta Go By Myself (12.01) 04. Billy Bragg & Wilco - Airline to Heaven (18.30) 05. Ezra Furman & the Harpoons - Hard Time in a Terrible Land (23.12) 06. I Break Horses - Hearts (29.39) 07. Tusk Tusk - Out of Tune and Out of Time (37.22) 08. Sandy Denny - By the Time it Gets Dark (41.01) 09. Girls Names - Nothing More to Say (46.02) 10. Thomas Tantrum - Hot Hot Summer (51.33) 11. Jarad Miles - Darjeeling (56.04)
