“After more than 40 years in the public health arena, it might surprise some of my colleagues to know I think President Trump chose the right man for the job: Robert Kennedy, Jr.,” writes Dr. Robert Redfield, former Director of the CDC, in an earth-shattering op-ed for Newsweek that blames processed foods, pesticides, and pharma's financial priorities for America's chronic health epidemic. “It's time to make America healthy again,” he continues. “Kennedy is right: All three of the principal health agencies suffer from agency capture… And as the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), I know the agency can be influenced by special interest groups.” Dr. Robert Redfield is a virologist, infectious disease expert, and former Director of the CDC. He served on the White House Coronavirus Task Force and Operation Warp Speed board. Previously, he co-founded the University of Maryland's Institute of Human Virology, served as Chief of Infectious Diseases at UMD School of Medicine, and founded the Department of Retroviral Research in the U.S. Military. A Georgetown Medical graduate, he advised President Bush on HIV/AIDS and Governor Hogan on public health. Guests: Kate Sullivan, Director of the Maryland Chapter, United Sovereign Americans (USA) Vincent dePaul Gisriel, Jr. Kate provides an update on final Maryland Scorecard of election violations in excess of 85,000. She breaks down numbers for 2020 and 2022 and identifies the cause of the violations due to the excessive ballot boxes put into effect then expanded by Governor Hogan. Kate also is adamant that the voter roles must be cleaned up from dead people, wrong addresses, multiple entries due to typos in names, and other issues. Vince covers the actual election numbers for 2022 that demonstrate in 17 counties that Cox was ahead of Governor Moore significantly until the mail in ballots were counted. It is quite possible that the outcomes of MD congressional race CD6 and other county and Maryland legislature races would have been different across the state had these election violations noted on the Scorecard not have occurred. Elections have consequences and the outcomes have resulted in Kirwan blueprint for education being fully funded on the backs of MD taxpayers as well as increases in property taxes, income taxes, energy rates and minimum wage, all causing a devastating blow to Marylanders and specifically small and large businesses across the state. In this episode, Julie and Ginger talk about the school to prison pipeline with Leonard Webb. What an important topic this is! Leonard retired from law enforcement and now uses his experience to address the issues of exclusionary discipline, implicit biases, and structural racism. His goal is to improve the educational outcomes of students by improving relationships between administrators, teachers, parents, and students. Leonard provides equity-based solutions by bringing accountability to school leaders while increasing attendance and decreasing suspensions and expulsions. He was appointed by Governor Hogan to the Juvenile Justice School Board in the state of Maryland. Listen in to learn what the school to prison pipeline really is, why it is important, and how we can work to reduce its numbers. Mr. Webb states, “Underfunded schools lead to overcrowded prisons.” There is a direct correlation and many ways to make a difference. He uses the concept of RISK - establish Real relationships, have Intentional interactions, create Safe spaces, and Keep asking questions. Yes, it takes us out of our comfort zone but that is what a risk is. It is a shift of our focus. Leonard tells us that it may not be easy, but it is really very simple. To learn more about Leonard Webb and his program, visit his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/webbolutionary/ or go to http://endtheschool2prisonpipeline.com/. In this week's Reagan Forum podcast we go back a week to May 3, 2022 for our in-person event with Larry Hogan, the Governor of Maryland and previous Chairman of the National Governor's Association, who was a speaker in the Reagan Foundation's Time for Choosing Speaker Series, a new forum for leading voices in the conservative movement. Governor Larry Hogan, Jr. was sworn in as the 62nd governor of Maryland on January 21, 2015. In 2018, he was overwhelmingly re-elected to a four-year term, receiving the most votes of any Maryland gubernatorial candidate and becoming only the second Republican governor to be re-elected in the 242-year history of the state. During his Time for Choosing Speech at the Reagan Library, Governor Hogan addressed additional critical issues facing the future of the Republican Party.
The CDC has updated its COVID-19 travel restrictions after a new order from the Biden administration extending mask mandates. COVID positivity rates are creeping up in Baltimore and across the state, but so far no renewed mandates. Governor Hogan signed a host of bills into law as the 2022 Legislative Session came to a close. The deaths of three Baltimore firefighters earlier this year have now been ruled homicides. And the debate over banning plastic bags in Baltimore County is heating up as council members are coming down on opposite sides of the issue. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The 2022 Session of the Maryland General Assembly came to a close last night in Annapolis, at midnight, with most of the business of the legislature wrapped-up before Sine Die and the bang of the final gavel. Governor Larry Hogan called this year's session the best he's had in his eight years in office. Senate President Bill Ferguson agreed that it was successful. He described it as “historic.” At this hour, Governor Hogan is holding a bill signing ceremony at the State House in Annapolis in which he will sign 79 bills into law. Several others will become law without his signature, and many will become law as a result of overrides of the Governor's vetoes. Joining Tom first to discuss some of the key legislative achievements of the session is Delegate Luke Clippinger, a Democrat who represents Baltimore City and the 46th District, and who chairs the House Judiciary Committee. Del. Clippingerjoins us on Zoom. Then, Tom turns to Josh Kurtz, the founding editor of Maryland Matters, the online news journal covering Maryland politics and government, for more wide-ranging analysis of the 2022 session. Mr. Kurtz, a veteran journalist and State House-watcher, also joins us on Zoom. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Part II of the podcast: Maryland State Police v Trooper of the Year. In this episode Clarke, Serge and TFC Kashef Khan talk about a bizarre trial board where the prosecutor's first witness against TFC Khan was TFC Khan. When Clarke Ahlers called an IAD investigator to the stand in the defense case, an Assistant Attorney General objected and claimed that Ahlers was attempting to introduce perjurious testimony into the proceeding. (Yes, the Prosecutor warned the Hearing Board that the testimony of the IAD investigator ought to be excluded because it was attempted perjury.) If you care about Maryland's finest, and you listen to this podcast, you will want to call Governor Hogan and ask him what the hell is going on in Pikesville? Or as Clarke and Serge say: "Momma, don't let your babies grow up to be Troopers." And an update: Khan was fired on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

Serge and I discuss the backward world of the Maryland State Police with one of its own. You will hear from a "brown skin Muslim" who was awarded the 2019 statewide "Trooper of the Year" by Governor Hogan. But the next year -- when he again outperformed every other trooper -- this Trooper First Class was told that a brown skin Muslim will NOT be the face of the agency two years in a row. Then a white Sergeant accused the Trooper of falsifying the location of a traffic stop in spite of four permanent MSP records that accurately recorded the location of the stop. The accusation of false report bordered on the absurd. The Maryland State Police cannot explain why key evidence is missing. But none of that mattered; an Assistant Attorney General advocated that an administrative hearing board convict the Trooper of the Year and recommend his termination to the Superintendent. And they did that. This is part 1 of a two part podcast. You will want to write to Governor Hogan and move to Florida after this one.
