Join us on the Jewish Inspiration Podcast as we explore the profound impact of anger through the lens of Jewish teachings, including the "Orchos Tzaddikim" and the wisdom of King Solomon. We discuss how anger can often lead to arrogance and an unwillingness to admit mistakes, a theme that resonates in today's society, especially within politics. Drawing on the example of Moses, we illustrate how even the most righteous individuals can falter when consumed by anger, and how such emotions can lead to destructive behaviors akin to idolatry. This episode emphasizes the importance of avoiding quick tempers and offers a gentle reminder to refrain from judging others too harshly, acknowledging the cunning nature of the evil inclination in provoking anger. In the latter part of the episode, we reflect on the intricate balance of emotions in parenting and education. By examining the complexities of forgiveness and the role of anger, we highlight the challenges of maintaining balance in relationships, whether between siblings or between parents and children. Through biblical narratives, we emphasize the Almighty's capacity for patience and forgiveness, encouraging us to emulate these traits in our own lives. We ponder the potential dangers of being easily appeased by the wicked and the necessity of using anger judiciously to instill reverence or correct behavior. With a focus on divine patience and love, listeners are invited to appreciate and adopt these virtues to foster harmony and responsibility in both personal and communal spheres._____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)Recorded from a live audience presentation in the TORCH Centre - Levin Family Studios (B) in Houston, Texas on January 13, 2025.Released as Podcast on February 25, 2025_____________DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. **Correction 41:50, South Africa, not South America** This week we chat about the irony of Harmony Day in Australia when we still have systematic oppression against many minority groups. While the rest of the nation 'celebrates' Harmony Day, a speaker from the UK spreads her transphobic views which attracted the support of Neo-Nazis. We conclude our episode with a discussion about the happiest countries in the world. Right now, it's Harmony Week here in Australia, and March 21 marks Harmony Day, a day where businesses, schools and organisations are told to wear orange in celebration of Australia's recognition of diversity and multiculturalism. The federal government's website labels it as a day which celebrates "our diversity, and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds". But March 21 is not recognised as 'Harmony Day' anywhere else in the world. In fact, it's observed as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. In this episode of The Quicky, we take a look at the dark origins of March 21. Subscribe to Mamamia GET IN TOUCH Feedback? We're listening! Harmony Day was introduced in the 1990s as an Australian government initiative to celebrate multiculturalism and diversity, in lieu of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Some argue this positive spin is hampering the country's efforts to understand and combat racism amid the rising threat of white supremacy.

There is much division between the carnivore community, much disagreement on what the carnivore diet is, what we should be eating to maintain a healthy life, and how we can get the optimum nutrition, but it doesn't have to be this way. We can learn from each other if we stop fighting and listen to others, listen to their experiences and experiments and then learn how to apply it to our own health. In this episode I discuss the divisions within the carnivore community and the obvious divide between carnivores and vegans.I believe we have much more in common than people think as we all agree that diet is paramount to a healthy lifestyle, we all care about the environment, and we all care deeply about animal welfare.Vegans diet and carnivore diet are obviously very different, but there are similarities and we should try to learn from each other. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all! Romans 12:15-16 NLT Think about it: As Christ followers, we are to live in harmony with everyone, not just with like-minded people. By doing so, we proclaim the gospel. Pray: Help me, God, to live a life that is holy and Christ-centered; to proclaim the gospel through my actions by living in harmony with everyone.

Harmony Week was developed out of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March, but many people from diverse backgrounds think the reframing around "harmony" is taking the focus off their experience of racism. Sukhjit Khalsa is a slam poet, playwright and director who has developed work around growing up as a Sikh Australian. She is developing a new rap on this issue of reframing and the pigeonholing of people from diverse backgrounds.
