We're pairing up our favorite attractions, restaurants, lounges, and experiences from across Walt Disney World to create the ultimate theme park duos. These are the combinations that just belong together—whether it's because of their theme, location, storytelling, or simply the way they complete one another. We travel through all four parks, matching iconic attractions with the dining and experiences that elevate them even further. From grabbing a drink at Beak and Barrel after sailing through Pirates of the Caribbean, to enjoying Garden Grill before a relaxing ride through Living with the Land, we discuss the pairings that have become must-dos for us over the years. Along the way, we share why Jungle Cruise and Skipper Canteen are the perfect Adventureland combo, why Expedition Everest and Yak & Yeti feel like they were made for each other, and how attractions like Rise of the Resistance, Frozen Ever After, Flight of Passage, and Kilimanjaro Safaris become even better when paired with the right food, drink, or experience nearby. We also debate some underrated combinations, revisit a few classic favorites, and ultimately rank our Top 5 Theme Park Duos from the entire list. Will Pirates and Beak and Barrel take the crown? Can Garden Grill and Living with the Land claim the top spot? Or will an Animal Kingdom favorite climb to the top of the rankings? If you're planning your next Walt Disney World vacation or just looking for new ways to experience the parks, this episode is packed with ideas to help you create your own perfect Disney pairings.

The crew also chats about Billy Joel condemning the biopic about him, Jim Henson's Creature Shop now being open to the public, and how AEW giving fans extra bang for their buck inadvertently left hundreds stranded in Queens. The cast talks about lots of sporty things with Mr. Greer, and the guy who has been doing ‘play by play' of Knicks games for his sister who'd been in a bad accident. They talk about Baja Blast dogs and mutant pigs, the He-Man movie, Jared Leto's shortcomings, and the Pizza Planet pop-ups coming for Toy Story 5. Send us Fan MailVillains do not need to rebuild Disneyland to make it feel cursed. Give them control over the ride names, the background music, and the menu descriptions, and suddenly every “classic” turns into a warning label. We start with a toast straight out of Disney Cruise Line lore by recreating The Darling from DeVille's Piano Lounge on the Disney Destiny, then we use that same attention to theme and tone to let the bad guys run wild. From there, we draft the takeover rules and pick our battlegrounds: Disneyland and Disney's Animal Kingdom. You'll hear our ride overlay pitches that keep the mechanics intact while flipping the story, like Kilimanjaro Safaris as Scar's Wasteland, Expedition Everest pursued by the Druun, and Flight of Passage reframed as a full-on Battle For Pandora. On the Disneyland side, Space Mountain becomes Zerg's “Totally Safe” training simulator complete with relentless monologuing, Pirates turns into Captain Hook's “respectable” maritime career pitch, and It's a Small World gets a Dr. Facilier twist that asks one question on repeat: did you read the fine print? We also take swings at shows and walkthroughs, from Scar-centered theater to a Phantasmic narration track run by Hades, plus a Maleficent-inspired castle exhibit that rewrites the whole “who is the victim?” argument. And because Disney food culture is half the fun, we rename lounges and restaurants with villain energy, including a Nomad Lounge takeover with color-changing cocktails and a Cruella dining makeover that insists the steak is totally not what you think. If you love Disney villains, theme park storytelling, Disneyland details, Animal Kingdom atmosphere, and clever menu theming, hit subscribe, share the episode with a Disney friend, and leave a review. Which villain takeover would you actually want to experience?
This week on the Magic Our Way Podcast, we dive headfirst into the weird, wild, and wildly inappropriate side of Walt Disney World with "Bad Behavior on Disney Property – Liquid Edition." From a guest hopping off Kilimanjaro Safaris to use the bushes mid-ride… to an argument at Magic Kingdom turning physical over line-cutting at Tiana's Bayou Adventure… to an actual iced coffee attack on a guest in a wheelchair aboard a Disney ferry… this episode uncorks some of the strangest recent stories coming out of the parks. It's part true crime, part theme park therapy session, and part "what is wrong with people?" discussion — all with the usual Magic Our Way banter and laughs. Because apparently, some guests just can't keep it together in the Most Magical Place on Earth. Ask us any questions about what we have discussed. Civil discussions encouraged. Email us at show@magicourway.com, call or text 815-MOWICAN (669-4226), or slide into our social media DMs. Every thought and opinion will forever be welcome on this Disney fan podcast. This is show #628.

Join us for episode 485 of the Theme Park Trader Podcast! "Jambo, everyone! Today on Theme Park Trader, we are going off-road into the 110-acre savanna of Disney's Animal Kingdom to uncover the secrets of Kilimanjaro Safaris. Most guests see a peaceful photo safari, but the history of this attraction is wilder than the animals themselves. We're talking about the original "dark" storyline involving poachers and a bloody elephant carcass, the "invisible" engineering that keeps the lions from eating the zebras, and the high-tech tricks—like air-conditioned rocks—that make the magic happen. In this episode, we dive into: The Big Red Mystery: Why Disney completely changed the ride's plot in 2012. The Impossible Road: Why the "mud" you're driving on is actually a feat of civil engineering. Animal Secrets: How keepers use "dinner bells" and climate-controlled habitats to keep the savanna active. The Simba Fleet: The $150,000 price tag of your safari truck and the grueling training of the drivers. 2026 Updates: What the construction of Tropical Americas means for your view of the Harambe Reserve. Poor Reviews: We read out some of the worst reviews that people have left for the attraction Whether you're a casual fan or a hardcore Imagineering nerd, this is the definitive guide to the "crown jewel" of Animal Kingdom. Grab your gear, 'Simba One' is ready for departure! Subscribe to Theme Park Trader for more deep dives into your favourite attractions!"

We kick off our annual March Madness bracket challenges with a Walt Disney World ride tournament as we rank and seed eight attractions in each of the four parks — Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom — to build the ultimate 32-ride bracket. Using factors like popularity, theming and immersion, innovation, broad appeal, and overall guest satisfaction, we determine which rides earn the coveted #1 seeds and which ones barely sneak into the tournament field. From heavy hitters like TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage… to beloved classics like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spaceship Earth, and Kilimanjaro Safaris, every attraction has to find its place on the bracket. Along the way we debate controversial rankings, question whether nostalgia should matter, and set up some very interesting first-round matchups. Which rides deserve the top seeds? Which ones are overrated? And what attraction do you think could pull off the biggest upset? Let the brackets begin. A Day in Disney's Animal Kingdom: A Complete Guide to Adventure and AweArriving early is one of the best ways to experience Animal Kingdom. As you walk across the bridge from the Oasis toward the Tree of Life, the park begins to reveal itself slowly. Birds call from hidden perches, foliage rustles, and the elaborate carvings on the Tree of Life seem to come alive in the morning light. If you plan to experience the attractions in Pandora, heading directly there is wise. The Wait time for Avatar Flight of Passage is shortest in the morning and gives you a breathtaking ride through the landscapes of Pandora. For a gentler but equally beautiful experience, Na'vi River Journey offers a serene boat ride through bioluminescent forests.Once the initial rush settles, the park becomes a haven for exploration. The Kilimanjaro Safaris ride is a must. It is one of the rare theme park experiences where no two rides are the same, thanks to the movement and moods of the animals. Morning to late morning is a great window, as many animals are active before the heat of the day.Exploring the walking trails, such as the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail or the Maharajah Jungle Trek, brings a quieter appreciation of the park. These trails allow you to move at your own pace, read interpretive displays, and spend time watching animals in habitats that feel remarkably open and natural. If you are hungry, Animal Kingdom has some of Disney's best food options. Satu'li Canteen offers customizable bowls that are fresh and flavorful, while Flame Tree Barbecue delivers hearty classics with scenic seating by the water.By afternoon, it is time for some excitement. Expedition Everest is the park's signature roller coaster, blending speed, storytelling, and one infamous guardian of the mountain. Even if you do not usually seek out thrill rides, Everest has a unique charm that comes from its details and immersive queue.Nearby, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond provides a beautifully staged musical break inside a cool, dark theater. For an even deeper dive into nature and culture, Festival of the Lion King remains one of Disney's most celebrated live productions, offering breathtaking vocals, acrobatics, and choreography inspired by the film.If heat or crowds rise, this is a great time to pause with a cold drink or take a slow walk through Discovery Island, stopping to look at the often-overlooked animal exhibits surrounding the Tree of Life.As sunset approaches, the park transforms. Pandora's glowing plants begin to pulse with color, and the atmosphere shifts from lively to enchanting. This is a perfect time to walk the pathways between the floating mountains, taking in the sounds and details that are easy to miss during the day.Dinner options like Tiffins or Yak and Yeti offer relaxing, flavorful meals to close out your exploration. Afterward, enjoy a final walk past the softly lit Tree of Life. The nighttime awakenings, featuring projection shows with animal themes, are subtle but magical, offering a reflective end to the day.A day in Animal Kingdom is not just about rides or shows but about stepping into a world that celebrates exploration, conservation, and imagination. It offers a pace unlike any other Disney park, encouraging you to slow down, observe, and connect with the stories and animals around you. Whether this is your first visit or your tenth, the park always finds new ways to surprise and inspire.

We're going all the way back to the very beginning — opening day at each of Walt Disney World's four parks — to celebrate the attractions that started it all and are still bringing the magic today. Which OG will take the top spot? Tune in to find out!
This week, a new addition to Storybook land canal boats, a casting call hints at new entertainment, Rex returns for a new party, interact with the Avengers in a different way, Josh Gad takes guests on a spooktacular ride, we finish our conversation with Brandon from Spirit Jersey, and more! Please support the show if you can by going to https://www.dlweekly.net/support/. Check out all of our current partners and exclusive discounts at https://www.dlweekly.net/promos. News: There has been a lot of speculation on what is happening with Storybook Land Canal Boats at Disneyland since it's refurbishment started. We finally have at least part of an answer! Between the patchwork section and Mr.Toad's section a new Rapunzel tower will rise, with wanted posters for Flynn Rider and a secluded dock with a boat inspired by the film. A trellis on the Casey Jr. bridge will feature twinkling lights and play “When Will My Life Begin?” during the day, and “I See the Light” at night. – https://disneyparksblog.com/dlr/rapunzels-tower-coming-to-storybook-land-canal-boats-at-disneyland/ Some new live entertainment is coming to the Disneyland Resort. A casting call has gone out for seven improv actors, vocalists, movers, and dancers for a new production. They are also looking for band members to accompany the show. Submissions are open through October 17th. No word on when this show will debut or what it is. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/10/02/your-dream-job-is-now-hiring-at-disneyland/ Not too long ago, Rex from Toy Story came to Pixar Pier. He is back, but this time he is ready to party. Partysaurus Rex, which is Rex in his party outfit of a viking hat, with red lochs hanging out, and a few necklaces with colorful beads and a peace sign. You can catch Partysaurus Rex in the 2012 Pixar short Partysaurus Rex, which is part of the Toy Story Toons series. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/partysaurus-rex-meet-and-greet-dca/ There is a new way to interact, and maybe get a photo with, you favorite Avenger. There is a new “Avengers Assemble” moment in Avengers Campus where a few Avengers come out together, are introduced by the F.R.I.D.A.Y. voice over the PA, pose for a group photo in front of the Avengers' jeep, then break up to meet with guests for photos in the area. After a short time, the F.R.I.D.A.Y. voice comes back and informs them they are needed elsewhere, and they disperse. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/avengers-assemble-new-moment-avengers-campus-dca/ One of our favorite previously turned down cast members, and Disney Legend Josh Gad was back at Disneyland recently. This time, he was working the Haunted Mansion. This took place before the Holiday overlay was installed, as he can be seen talking to the caretaker, dancing with the ballroom ghosts, and much more! You might remember that Josh previously worked on the Jungle Cruise as a skipper, was a conductor on the Disneyland Railroad, and worked the Kilimanjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. To see his experience, check out the link in our show notes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/10/03/a-disney-celebrity-just-became-a-haunted-mansion-caretaker-and-we-are-so-jealous/ https://youtu.be/UTHSUCKCY8s?si=WHP0bZie-C41dFHb The Broken Spell Lounge at the Disneyland Hotel, which opened back in October of 2024, just now got it's permanent sign. The new sign hangs from the ceiling with a magic wand and twinkling stars surrounding the Broken Spell Lounge name. The lounge is usually open from 4pm to 10pm, with live music daily at 5:30pm, 6:45pm, and 8pm. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2025/10/05/better-late-than-never-something-new-just-arrived-at-a-popular-disney-hotel-lounge/ Not only is Disneyland celebrating 70 years, but so is the Mickey Mouse Club! The Mickey Mickey Mouse Club premiered on October 3, 1955. To celebrate, some new, retro-style merchandise has come to the resort. There are some classic Mickey ears, a Mickey Mouse Club Member jacket, a Mickey plush, tote bag, tee, and more! – https://www.micechat.com/424727-disneyland-news-ticket-increase-aerial-construction-photos/ In the hub at Disneyland, there are pumpkins that represent each land of the park, with a character representative. Adventureland started this Halloween season with Tarzan, but has been swapped to Jose from Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. This change makes sense since Tarzan's Treehouse has been replaced with the Adventureland Treehouse. It is interesting that they swapped this out mid-season. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/disneyland-adventureland-pumpkin-update/ We have a couple of construction updates to tell you about around the resort. First, the Disneyland Hotel security gates near the old ESPN Zone building are still closed, but the new gates are installed and should be open soon. Over in Disney California Adventure, the TWO new Avengers Campus attractions are coming along quickly. The main framing of the building – or buildings, depending on how you look at it is complete. The walls should start to enclose the structure soon. The scale of this structure is massive! – https://www.micechat.com/424727-disneyland-news-ticket-increase-aerial-construction-photos/ SnackChat: Naples Ristorante e Bar – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/downtown-disney-district/naples-ristorante-e-bar/menus/ Discussion Topic: Creative Director of Spirit Jerseys Brandon Ptasznik https://www.spiritjersey.com – Use code dlweekly10 to get 10% off brandon@spiritjersey.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Episode Summary: What can a pack of African painted dogs teach us about leadership and gender equity? A lot more than you might think. On a recent Disney trip with my son, I hopped on my favorite ride - Kilimanjaro Safari -in one of my favorite parks – Animal Kingdom, and our guide, Kyla, shared something that really caught my attention: painted dogs are the most successful hunters in the animal kingdom with an incredible 85% success rate. Compare that to the so-called “King of the Jungle,” the lion, who is successful only about 20% of the time. The difference? Not brute force. Not dominance. Not confidence. The painted dogs' secret is collaboration. They succeed because an alpha male and alpha female lead together, backed by the entire pack. In this episode of the Advancing Women Podcast, we explore: Why win/win beats win/lose in leadership and equity. The hidden strengths that are too often overlooked and undervalued. How McKinsey research proves diverse, collaborative leadership outperforms. The importance of communal traits like empathy, compassion, and collaboration. Why the future of leadership looks a lot less like lions, and a lot more like painted dogs. This episode is a reminder that leadership and equity aren't about fighting for the biggest piece of the pie. it's about ditching the scarcity mindset in favor of abundance. Win/Win! If you lead a team, an organization, or even your own family, this episode will challenge you to rethink leadership and equity, not as competition, but as collaboration. #tunein and discover why the case for gender equity is really the case for better leadership for everyone. Send us a textWhat would happen if you were forced to choose between your favorite Disney attractions, permanently eliminating one while keeping the other? That's the challenging premise behind our "Ride or Die" game, where we confront impossible choices that reveal what truly matters in our Disney park experiences.Over a Barrels of Blaze cocktail from Beacon Barrel (Jack Daniels bourbon, honey, lemon, and chili), we dive into agonizing decisions across three categories: shows, snacks, and rides. The results surprise even us, as longtime Disney preferences are questioned when put in direct competition with other beloved experiences. When forced to choose between Country Bear Jamboree and Carousel of Progress, or Fantasmic and Mickey's PhilharMagic, we discover how storytelling, nostalgia, and rewatch value shape our show preferences. Our snack selections pit iconic Dole Whip against Mickey pretzels, churros against School Bread, and expose how sensory experiences like the smell of popcorn influence our park memories. The most revealing choices come with ride comparisons. Would you sacrifice Expedition Everest to save Tiana's Bayou Adventure? Is Rise of the Resistance worth losing Kilimanjaro Safaris forever? We weigh factors like thrills versus storytelling, queue experiences, ride length, and even seating comfort in making these painful decisions. The final showdown between Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad forces us to choose between Disney's most innovative new experience and a nostalgic classic.Through these challenging hypotheticals, we discover what truly defines our personal Disney experiences. Whether you prioritize nostalgia, thrills, immersive storytelling, or something else entirely, this episode will have you questioning which attractions you'd fight to preserve if forced to make the ultimate Disney sacrifice. Here's who we are and what is in store for you

Send us a textTwo 19-year-old college students bring fresh perspectives to Walt Disney World as they detail their adventures visiting all four Disney parks during their academic year in Florida. Eli and Addi, longtime Disneyland visitors, offer candid comparisons between the California and Florida parks that both seasoned Disney veterans and newcomers will find enlightening.Animal Kingdom emerges as their surprise favorite, with both guests marveling at how completely transported they felt among its immersive landscapes. "I'll never forget seeing the floating mountains of Pandora for the first time," Addi shares, while Eli declares the Kilimanjaro Safari something he "could ride five times in a day." Their Thanksgiving day visit to Magic Kingdom serves as a cautionary tale of holiday crowds so intense that portions of the park were temporarily closed to additional guests. The episode delivers practical insights for Disney World planning – from which parks might disappoint (Epcot ranked lowest despite housing their favorite ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) to why the Skyliner is the superior transportation option. They don't hold back on critiques, noting Hollywood Studios' inconsistent theming and Epcot's untapped potential, while offering thoughtful suggestions like adding a single attraction to each World Showcase country.Whether you're debating which Disney coast offers the better experience or planning your first Walt Disney World vacation, this conversation provides the authentic perspective of young adults experiencing the parks with both fresh eyes and deep Disney knowledge. Their enthusiasm for the Disney Parks experience proves that magic transcends age – even when navigating the challenges of being broke college students at the most magical (and expensive) place on earth. Here's who we are and what is in store for you

"Create memories where you couldn't have ever planned it" is the perfect quote from Helen J. Shen (Maybe Happy Ending), this episode's guest on 'E-Ticket to Broadway.' On this episode Helen shares their deep love of Baymax (who in plushie-form lives with Helen) and how Disney impacted her childhood--from watching the Disney movies as a kid (big fan of "The Lion King") to going to Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line, Helen understands the gateway of Disney to Musical Theatre--specifically their reaction to "The Festival of the Lion King." Listen as Helen professors her excitement for Animal Kingdom--from the attractions like "Flight of Passage" and the "Kilimanjaro Safaris," to the "Tree of Life," to the food (Helen has been deemed "The Head of Sitting & Eating"), the way in which Helen shares her love is as good as any Disney commercial. Did we mention Helen's love of the food of the Disney Parks? Beignets, & Dole Whips, & Pickles...oh my! Helen's love of Shanghai Disneyland's "Pirates of the Carribean" and her soft spot for Carousel of Progress is also discussed, with some questions from the listeners, including which characters Helen is most excited to meet at the Disney Parks. Forget matching Disney shirts. Matching shirts for a Disney vacation may be a common way to theme your Disney travel outfits, but there's a much better (and more fun way) to get into the Disney spirit by theming your family wardrobe more creatively.Choosing a theme can help to elevate and add some fun to your next Disney vacation Packing outfits for a Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation can be a lot of fun. Beyond the basics of packing for the season or the weather – or packing matching shirts for your family or group – there's another way to really elevate your Disney vacation style. If you're like me and you're not a big fan of matching Disney shirts, then this Disney fashion style is a great way to go. Theming your wardrobe to your upcoming vacation (or at least part of it), can make it fun to pack and even more fun to co-ordinate with what you plan to do onsite. Ideas for How to Theme Your Disney World Wardrobe Princess Theme A Cinderella-inspired theme for your outfits, along with a visit to Cinderella's Royal Table, a Cinderella Meet and greet and more. Or, do the same with Princess Ariel, Princess Belle, or your favorite Disney princess. 1920s New Orleans Don't just do a Tiana wardrobe theme, expand it into 1920s New Orleans inspired outfits for the family. You can do everything from a Princess Tiana dress for your little ones, to more clever apparel for the adults and teens. Couple this with a Tiana Meet and Greet (she will love it), a ride on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, and if you're at Disneyland, a visit to Tiana's Palace and a stroll around New Orleans Square for photos. Toy Story Theme Toy Story offers so many opportunities to have fun theming your family/group's apparel. Everything from your favorites from the movie, to your favorite toys as a kid...they're all fair game to inspire your outfits. Then, it's off to Toy Story Land for a few rides, dining at Round-Up Rodeo BBQ and Toy Story character meetings. Star Wars Theme Star Wars also offers many opportunities to theme your family Disney outfits. Then, wander Galaxy's Edge, visit Oga's Cantina and pilot the Millennium Falcon. Animal Print Theme Visiting Animal Kingdom Park is much more fun when you have your animal inspired family outfits. Take pictures in the park, meet characters, dine at Tusker House, ride Kilimanjaro Safaris and have a little fun with Wilderness Explorers.Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel Style PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, we that you enjoyed it. The Disney College Program internship hosts thousands of Cast Members each year at Walt Disney World and Disneyland as the students participating gain experience as they progress toward a college degree. I had the privilege of being a part of the Disney College Program in 2007, working at Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom. In this episode, I reflect on 17 years since starting the Disney College Program and share some personal experiences working at Kilimanjaro Safaris. Today, Karen Hooper shares the story of her wedding at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. Because she and John couldn't fit all the Disney wedding events they wanted into a single day, they decided to hold theirs over two days, in two parks. They started with a ceremony at GM Lounge to give them a great view of Spaceship Earth, followed by a short celebration in the same venue, complete with food, dancing and a visit by Mickey and Minnie! Then they took guests to Mexico Vista for a dessert party in front of the fireworks, followed by a ride mix-in on Soarin'. The next day, they treated guests to mix-ins at Kilimanjaro Safaris and The Festival of the Lion King, then got escorted to Tamu Tamu Courtyard by Disney's Uninvited Guests, a pair of actors posing as wedding crashers. There they had dinner, more dancing, a cake cutting, and an appearance by Safari Goofy! In this episode, Karen talks about the logistics of a multiday wedding, including why she now recommends it to everyone! Click here to see ALL the photos!
Today, Kaitlyn Chelkis shares the story of her ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, reception at American Adventure Rotunda, and dessert party at Italy Isola. Guest experience was one of her and Michael's top priorities, and in this episode Kaitlyn shares how they treated guests to fireworks, a Pittsburgh cookie table, and a rehearsal dinner at Animal Kingdom's Harambe Station, complete with a Kilimanjaro Safaris ride mix-in. You'll also hear about one of Kaitlyn's favorite memories of the day: riding in Cinderella's Glass Coach! Click here to see ALL the photos!
