With the bizarre AEW show schedule, Johnny Taylor (“Bummin' with the Devil” on Tubi), Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl from Shudder's “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs”), and Gringo Fantastico (“Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre” on Troma Now) bring you a supersized episode that will knock your…leg off? It was two consecutive nights of rad wrestling action to push the Beach Break 2025 and Double or Nothing agendas! Will Ospreay and Hangman Page have heated words, Toni Storm doesn't want to wait on Mercedes and Hayter to work their BS out, The Hurt Syndicate needs to make a damn decision about MJF, Willow continues to have problems with Marina Shafir, FTR have awoken a sleeping Nigel McGuiness, and Ricochet, in super heel fashion, beat up a handicap man and stole his leg! Join us for our solid and sometimes crazy takes and super shenanigans!
The gang is all here to regurgitate their takes on this week's... interesting... episode of the AEW-Some Pod! Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl; Shudder's "The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs), Johnny Taylor ("Bummin' with the Devil" on Tubi), and Gringo Fantastico (Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre on Troma Now) are here to bring you their takes on the carnage that was AEW Dynamite! Between a nasty spot involving protruding spikes and Jon Moxley's torso, a less than spectacular ending to an otherwise fun Fatal 4-Way match, and the amazingly marvelous rants of the one and only "Timeless" Toni Storm, that coincided with a hell of a confrontation between Kris Statlander and Megan Bayne, the trio is here take a "stab" at deciphering this week's Dynamite!
The AEW-some Pod is back for a recap of the AEW Revolution go-home edition of Dynamite! Join Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl; Shudder's The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs), stand up comedian Johnny Taylor (Bummin' with the Devil), and Gringo Fantastico (Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre on Troma Now!) alongside special guest, past pod co-host and filmmaker Brendan Petrizzo (Megalodon: The Frenzy, Mouse of Horrors), as they dive into the road to Revolution. MJF attempts to turn up the heat on his feud with Hangman Adam Page, Swerve gives Ricochet a scissoring of his own, and Cope shows Yuta what respect looks like on this powerful and hard-hitting show leading to the big showdown this Sunday in Los Angeles! Brendan gives the scoop on what went down at the Grove with the screening of the new film "Queen of the Ring!"
Johnny has set sail, which means horror hosts extraordinaire, Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl; The Last Drive-In) and Gringo Fantastico (Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre on Troma Now) join forces once again to bring you a deep dive into this week's AEW Dynamite and a quick wading into last Saturday's Collision. There were tremendous trios matches and an unhinged Hangman, while there was much to learn from our teachers of the Learning Tree! From an arguable contender for match of the year between Fletcher and Briscoe to a match no one asked for, but didn't realize they needed featuring MJF and Dustin Rhodes, they'll cover it all with Diana's wit and Gringo's bad jokes!
This week Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl of The Last Drive-In) and Gringo Fantastico (Fantastico Disasterpiece Theatre on Troma Now!) steer the ship towards one of the most memorable Collisions ever. The duo give their takes on one of the most awaited moments in quite some time... the return of "Timeless" Tony Storm, one of the best Collision main events in recent history between Takeshita and Shibata, and a brutal and vicious clash between Big Bill and Powerhouse Hobbs... and that's just the tip of the iceberg! Will Diana and Fantastico keep the pod from becoming too unhinged without Johnny? You'll have to listen to find out!
It's the big 150, and AEW Dynamite delivered a show worthy of the milestone! Hosts Johnny Taylor Jr. (stand-up comedian, author of The Wrestling Watchlist, and journalist for PWTorch.com), Diana Prince (*Darcy the Mail Girl from The Last Drive-In), and Gringo Fantastico (*luchador and host of Fantastico Disasterpiece Theater on Troma Now!) break down a stacked night of wrestling greatness. Will Ospreay and Buddy Matthews tore the house down, Kenny Omega proved why he's still "the guy," and Powerhouse Hobbs made it clear Jon Moxley's days at the top might be numbered. Plus, Jeff Jarrett continues his "Final Final Farewell Tour™," and MJF somehow made it all about him (again). From Jon Moxley and the Death Riders causing mayhem to Adam Cole worming his way into the Worlds End main event, this week was a rollercoaster. We dissect the Continental Classic matches, Will Ospreay's clash with Claudio Castagnoli, and Mariah May's gritty title defense against Mina Shirakawa. And then there's Toni Storm—returning as her old self. We're not mad, we're not thrilled…we're just…processing. Winter may be cold, but this episode brings the heat with sharp analysis, dry humor, and a hint of existential confusion.
As another fire Collision has bestowed itself upon the world, Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl), Johnny Taylor Jr., and Gringo Fantastico break down the results, hyper focusing on the intermingling of the Continental Classic! Meanwhile, the Death Wazzocks (Death Riders) are, once again, in full on 1st degree murder mode as they set to wash out Orange Cassidy's mouth the hard way! Finally, the team chimes in on Rey Fenix and whatever beef he's slinging on socials.
On this "Dynamite" episode of the AEW-Some Pod, Johnny Taylor, Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl), and Gringo Fantastico are joined sporadically by the one and only Joe Bob Briggs! Diana and Johnny give their special blend of analytics while Gringo chimes in with his live event report about what could arguably be one of the top AEW episodes of the year! Don't miss all the lariats, Switchblades, and Orange Punches you can handle in this Continental Classic focused episode... with a hint of historical Texas facts from Joe Bob himself!

On this edition of Parallax Views, in 2016 a little regional horror movie called The Barn became and underground hit. Set on Halloween, the movie told the story of a group of teenage pranksters and their encounter with a trio of local legend monsters known as The Boogeyman, Hollow Jack, and the Candy Corn Scarecrow. Featuring guest starring roles from horror icons Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons) and Ari Lehman (the first Jason from Friday the 13th), the movie evoked the nostalgia of the old Goosebumps TV series and direct-to-video horror movies you would see in mom 'n' pop video stores in the halcyon days of the early/mid 1990's. Director Justin M. Seaman ended up getting a sequel off the ground that was released in 2022 called The Barn Part II that amped up the gore quotient and featured guest appearances by Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the Hellraiser movie franchise), TV horror host Joe Bob Briggs, Diana Prince (Darcy the Mail Girl from The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs), Troma's Lloyd Kaufman, and returning performances from "Scream Queen" Linnea Quigley and "First Jason" Ari Lehman. Together, these two movie make for the perfect Halloween double feature this spooky season and Parallax Views is joined by director Justin Seaman and cinematographer Zane Hershberger to discuss this spook-tacular double feature! THE BARN duology has it all: chainsaws, blood, zombies, curses, 90s nostalgia, creepy monsters, practical special effects, Halloween season atmosphere, and much, much more! You can watch THE BARN and THE BARN PART II via a trial subscription to Screambox
We have got a real Halloween treat for you on this episode. Spooky season is in full effect, so what better time to unveil this lost episode of Death By DVD? Originally recorded October 2022, this episode was completely and totally lost! Immediately after recording this episode, the file was lost and the original file deleted! A year later in September 2023, Harry-Scott found the missing file, which by accident had been placed in the wrong spot, almost certain to never be found. BUT THANKFULLY the episode was found, restored and slightly edited! We wanted to offer you something that was more "uncut" and "raw" compared to most episodes, seeing as this has been lost for an entire year! On this spooky season edition of Parallax Views, we've got not one but two conversations to get you ready for Halloween! First, up Jason Brooks joins us to discuss the new Friday the fan film he's directed, wrote, and starred in called Friday the 13th Vengeance Part 2: Bloodlines. the first Friday the 13th Vengeance was a huge hit with fans of the Jason Voorhees saga and with it's professional-look, use of alumni from the Friday the 13th franchise, and feature-length running time was often spoken about as being "more than a fan film" when it came out. The sequel ups the ante further by featuring Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers's Tamara Glynn and Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives's Darcy Demoss and fan favorite Thom Matthews reprising their roles as Nikki and the Jason's heroic arch-nemesis Tommy Jarvis. Also returning are Friday the 13th Part 6's C.J. Graham (who played Jason in Part 6), as Jason's father Elias Voorhees, and Tom McLoughlin, the writer and director of Part 6, as the new character Gravekeeper Walt. Both Vengeance Pt. 2 and its predecessor features a massive amount of gory carnage candy for fans of the series as well as some surprises along the way, including an appearance from The Ramones' Richie Ramone as a punk rocker! In this short but sweet conversation Jason and I discuss: - The origins of Friday the 13th Vengeance and how it started as an entirely different film called Friday the 13th: Mythos; the love and passion that went into Vengeance and how it became known as "More Than Just a Fan Film" thanks to the effort of Friday the 13th Part II's Steve Dash (who appears as the town Sheriff in the fan film; his last film role); the stars of Vengeance including the aforementioned Steve Dash, Friday the 13th Part 6's C.J. Graham, Diana Prince (aka Darcy the Mail Girl of Joe Bob Briggs' Last Drive-In fame on Shudder), and former Penthouse Pet Veronica Ricci among others - The inclusion of Jason Voorhees' father Elias Voorhees in Friday the 13th Vengeance Part 2: Bloodlines and his origins in the Tom McLoughlin's original screenplay for Friday the 13th Part 6 (Elias also appeared in a number of the comic book spin-offs of Friday the 13th) - Talking about the special and make-up effects, kills, gore for the films and involvement of Hollywood/filmmaking professionals from special FX artist Joe Castro to Friday the 13th's original composer Harry Manfredini - What Jason and Co. learned from the experience of making the first Vengeance and how that informed Vengeance Pt. 2 - The shooting schedule and principle photography for Vengeance Pt. 2 and information about its budget - Video technology and the barrier to entry to making a professional-looking fan film - Why Jason and Co. wanted to make a sequel to Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives particularly - And much, much more! In the second half of the program, an old TV horror anthology has resurfaced after years of languishing in the tape trading underground of horror fanatics. Once only available in the form of poor quality bootlegs, Freddy's Nightmares is the forgotten Nightmare on Elm Street TV series that has recently experienced new life (and better quality) on the free (with ads) streaming service known as Tubi. Done in the style of Rod Serling's Twilight Zone, the show featured Freddy Krueger (played by Robert Englund of the film series) hosting bizarre and gruesome stories about his stomping grounds of Spirngwood, Ohio. Some of the episodes feature Freddy within the story while most only feature him in host segment. One particularly notorious episode, the pilot "No More Mr. Nice Guy", was directed by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Tobe Hooper and acted as an origin story for Freddy Krueger and prequel to Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street. With the series getting more attention thanks to it's being hosted on Tubi now, indie filmmaker Henrique Couto and David Denoyer have started a podcast in which they discuss each episode entitled Welcome to Primetime: A Freddy's Nightmares Retrospective. Henrique and David joins us to discuss not only Freddy's Nightmares but also the Freddy-mania of the 1980s, J.G.'s first experience with Freddy Krueger as a child vis-a-vis an unrewound Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (notorious for its homosexual subtext), the before-they-were-stars appearances of actors and actresses like Brad Pitt and Tank Girl's Lori Petty in Freddy's Nightmares, the origin of Freddy's Nightmares, the subversive themes of the NOES franchise, Re-Animator's Jeffrey Combs appearance in Freddy's Nightmares, the idea of elevated horror, thoughts on David Gordon Green's divisive Halloween Ends, how technology (cameras, lighting equipment, etc.) has allowed for a lower barrier to entry for aspiring filmmakers, Henrique's new anthology series Found Footage, the importance of learning craft in filmmaking, the weird dream sequences in Freddy's Nightmares, whether we'll ever see a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie, the FREDDY's TRICKS & TREATS episode of FREDDY's NIGHTMARES featuring a sleazy striptease from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit's Mariska Hargitay, and much, much more!
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of 1982's Halloween III: Season of the Witch, the Halloweenies head to The Aisle with special guest Darcy the Mail Girl of Shudder's The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs. Together, they discuss the critical reappraisal of Tommy Lee Wallace's cult classic, the inherent sex appeal of Tom Atkins, and why this is a favorite of Darcy's ... and many of the Halloweenies within. Consider this a Halloween treat as this was originally set for The Rewind, our Patreon where we have hundreds of hours exclusive to our most devoted listeners. Diana Prince, aka Darcy the Mail Girl from Shudder's The Last Drive-In joins the Ticklish Team as they deconstruct 1936's Dracula's Daughter. How is this Dracula sequel so little known? Watch Joe Bob's Halloween Hangout this Friday on Shudder. Kristen's written a new book for TCM and Running Press called But Have You Read the Book? all about film adaptations! We celebrate 12 years of TERROR...ble movie reviews on this episode. Founded July 9th 2009, we here at Death By DVD sit painfully through hours and hours of movies so you, the public, can make an informed decision of what you put in your ear holes and eye holes. Some of these films are good, some bad, and some even unmentionable; but ALL have one thing in common : Watching all of these movies will one day melt our brains into a sloppy wet mush. No need to thank us, we were already methodically destroying ourselves with cinema. At least this way there is a permanent record of our demise. As the midnight hour approaches, the smoke sets heavy, and the booze begins to flow like blood; tune in and drop through hell with your hosts Hank The Worlds Greatest and I. Alexander Nash, as we take you on a journey through the worlds of horror, gore, cult, strange, slashers, psychotronic, trash, twisted, gornography, weird, drive-in, cheesy, lost, rare, and frightening films. Join us and listen as two lives collapse on themselves. DEATH BY DVD THEME REMIX BY LINUS FITNESS-CENTRE
