Hey, guys! Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a fantastic week. I'm April Ratchford, your friendly occupational therapist mom, proudly on the spectrum and raising an amazing young adult son with autism. Welcome back to another episode of Adulting with Autism, where we dive into the roller coaster of adulthood through a neurodiverse lens. This week, I had the pleasure of chatting with the incredible Michaell Magrutsche. Michael has made a spectacular mark on the world with his art, books, and wisdom, all while navigating life with dyslexia and dysgraphia. For those who might not know, dyslexia is difficulty reading, and dysgraphia is a neurological disorder affecting writing. Despite these challenges, Michaell has discovered three inherent superpowers we all should embrace: creativity, healthy dialogue, and adaptability. Michaell is fluent in both English and German, completely self-taught, and has achieved so much, from being an author and artist to hosting his own podcast. He's even been a former art commissioner and co-produced with the late American film producer Robert Evans, known for classics like "The Godfather" and "Chinatown". Amazing, right? So, grab your drink of choice (no judgment here), sit back, and enjoy our conversation. We discuss everything from the importance of recognizing our unique strengths to the need for systemic updates in education and employment for neurodivergent individuals. Michaell's insights are truly inspiring and remind us that each of us is one of a kind in this vast world of 8 billion people. When was the last time you were willing to bet on yourself and take the leap of believing you were enough? Are you ready to invest in the process of self-discovery, which will allow you to experience self-awareness and confidence in your pursuit of life's greatest attributes? Michaell Magrutsche is an Austrian-Californian Multimedia Artist. He became a creativity-awareness educator through his experience-based outside-the-box upbringing that was forced upon him due to his neurodiversity. He is totally self-taught, an author of 5 books, a podcaster, speaker, guide, former Newport Beach CA Arts-Commissioner, and has co-produced with Robert Evans. He is fluent in German and English. His ability lies in being able to see hidden contexts, which allows him to resolve paradoxes and arrive at awareness solutions in leadership, hospitality, customer service, communication, success vs. fulfillment, and any form of creativity and culture. He separates each problem/solution in human and system relevancy, allowing all people to become aware and align their needs. He believes that without creativity, there would be no man-made systems, and there would be no world as we know it. He discovers patterns within art/creativity that foster creative communication and identify art-values outside of any art product. This perspective of looking at creativity brings humanity together, shows its limitlessness, and raises our human potential. He has discovered that there are three inherent human superpowers that we should all be aware of: 1. Creativity, 2. Healthy Dialogue, and 3. Adaptability. He believes that all systems need to be adapted to this strategy because without humans, there is no need for systems. Humans, living beings, and nature must be THE PRIORITY to keep raising OUR human potential instead of wasting our lifeforce with man-made systems. He hosts a 30-second podcast called THE SMART OF ART - The Power of Art and Creativity, where he induces conversations about this limitless superpower. For more information: https://michaellm.com/

Michaell Magrutsche is an Austrian/Californian multidisciplinary artist, awareness/creativity educator, speaker, and author of five books related to art. He is an advocate for helping understand neurodiversity. Michaell's dyslexia and dysgraphia (hand-eye coordination) forced him to develop an awareness of seeing the world purely from a human perspective. Creating art completed his awareness of what it is to be human, our habitat nature, and how to be the steward for OUR habitat and the next generations. Michaell's talent is recognizing awareness to seed a new consciousness that allows us to unveil the untapped superpowers of human limitlessness, art/creativity, healthy discourse, and adaptability to make all humans fit within our human tapestry. As a child, Michaell's dyslexia and dysgraphia (hand-eye coordination) he could only navigate in very few systems. Michaell was forced to find his salvation in art. Interacting and creating art outside of systems helped him feel humane and got him through life. Michaell is completely self-taught. Art allowed him to experience life with other humans and five books later Michaell produced with Robert Evans and became a City Arts Commissioner. He discovered that creating art is humans' greatest inherent superpower, followed by healthy dialogue and adaptability. These superpowers are applicable to everything from creativity, leadership, business, education, relationships, and what else humans focus on. Michaell keeps unveiling the limitations of all man-made systems like technology, science, economy, and generalized knowledge to change systems to be more human-adaptable instead of humans keep forcing themselves to be system adaptive. This work raises our human potential instead of making us blinder and ignoring our human worth for system values. We are wasting too much life force and energy on system navigation to achieve limited system value. Michaell's mission is to show us something very different. We are in an unconsciousness crisis. We don't see that all our ever-growing (financial principles)creations led us to a pivotal point of diminishing returns. Today, we have such an overabundance of goods and services that we have become incapable of consuming. We all keep creating and marketing but besides money we don't even have the time to sort through them, let alone the time to use or consume all those offerings that we all keep creating more and more of. Time has become humans' most valuable thing, not money and systems that we give our life force to function. Work and tinkering can enrich our human experience to live more fulfilled lives but we unconsciously deprive ourselves of living a human life through systems, our metaverse. This is why we have to become conscious. Humans have relinquished so much to systems, which demand more systems and more system work that our passion for human tinkering/creating has become work for money and now work to survive. Michaell's truth compass is our humans' limitlessness and nature's sense of balance. The awareness and wisdom of this focus continuously reveal our eternal knowledge of humankind and the recognition of our human potential. That's why there is nothing more to do but to be aware and become conscious. Understand what it means to be human, our habitat nature, and how to be the steward for OUR habitat and the next generations. When conscious, change will happen automatically. His interview will challenge and inspire you to become the best YOU that you can be for YOURSELF. “We could heal the world and others by being the best YOU that each can be for YOURSELF to contribute with each uniqueness seamlessly to the whole of humanity.”

Michaell Magrutsche co-produced with Robert Evans (Godfather, Chinatown Love Story) and was also the City Arts Commissioner of Newport Beach, California, he also wrote 5 books. He has been a leader all his life and is now writing the book on the next form of leadership because he can function with humans better than in systems. Michaell has given 120 interviews worldwide in the last 8 months primarily about system values versus human values, leadership's most trait self-awareness, our superpower of creativity, dialogue and adaptability. The next disruption that we already are into, we have created too good, and too much, that we pivoted to not having the time to find those products, let alone engage in a sales funnel and buy the product or service. We need leaders that understand this and not push more, but be aware and wiser. Art/creativity is an integral part to reveal to you, who you are, rather than waiting for others to define you. Art/creativity as a human superpower. Art always reminds us of a life as human BEINGS. Michaell is more aware of this because he was a sick child and also is dyslexic, and having dysgraphia (hand eye coordination) could not fit in anywhere. He is completely self-taught. Now, 5 books later…Creating art is his savior, it allowed him to be with other humans, he has co produced with Robert Evans, and became the City Arts Commissioner for Newport Beach CA, etc. etc. Art/creativity, healthy dialogue (podcasts) and our adaptability are superpowers that define our limitless human potential. Creating art always reminds and teaches us of a life as human BEINGS. It makes us aware of human and nature's wonders for us and future generations. Michaell's hub is https://MICHAELLM.com. We are back for another great interview on our podcast on how to unlock your world of creativity. Our guest today joins us on our around-the-world journey where we talk to creative practitioners about how they get inspired and how they organize ideas. And most of all, how they gain the confidence and the connections to launch their work out into the world. Our guest Michaell Magrutsche is an Austrian/Californian multimedia artist (painting, writing, music, film) and art adviser. Who recognizes many similarities that showed up in each art form. His passion is to discover patterns that reveal hidden functions in art. He is known to specialize in using his findings to elevate the exposure of art and foster clearer communication between all involved in the Arts. Today we have a conversation about the starving artist, a topic that is well illuminated in his last book, The Smart of Art: A New Art Consciousness To Awaken Our Enthusiasm For Art. A book he wrote because of the insane phenomenon that 95% of all artists worldwide exist around the poverty line. We talk about reclaiming artists' value and their passion and how a lot of creatives undervalue themselves and their work as well. In our conversation, we discover that artists have never defined their value. When you go to other professionals, they can tell you exactly why you're paying $3,000 for their work but an artist has no idea how to value his masterpiece. Because the value of art is ultimately mostly assessed through the foreign system of capitalism and economy where other values are the rule. There is little incentive for the economy to make art a tangible system. The market decides the value of an art piece when an artist creates a piece of art. In our talk, we realize that we know the art market, but we don't know art itself. As art is perceived today, it can no longer reveal its properties and true values because its ultimate evaluation is always tied to success, money, and fame. This is a huge misunderstanding since the art itself is where the value is. That's the purity of creativity is in art His top tips to artists so that they are not categorized as starving artists are: Artists have to compartmentalize the magical process of creating. Because this is where they grow and get instant feedback on their creations. An artist has to disengage when they are done with their creation. Although that is a hard thing for artists. They can't disengage because the experience of creation was so magical They need to learn to detach after being done with the magic of creation. After they have milked the moment and they are now saturated. They can give the painting to the market so that their art can be pieced accordingly. If they cannot detach themselves then they need to get an expert, a businessman gallerist, or a manager is usually the best because they are detached. Because your attachment to your creation as an artist blinds and blurs, the sales. If we knew more about creativity and art, we would know that as a creator one can abide but never submit to the creation of ourselves such as economy or technology. It always and only can lead to self-destruction if we try to submit to a system we created. Nature and humans are the most advanced systems on this planet. Therefore, AI is ultimately nothing more than human frailty on steroids because the data stems from human imperfection. And therefore what the observation of art does is it pushes you into humanity and that's magic. In conclusion, agree that we shouldn't be able to name art & poverty in the same breath.Michaell educates us that art is the language of wisdom and that we should get in touch with our wisdom. He invites artists to create art without bothering about the market. And he reminds them to milk the process because there is not a spiritual discipline stronger than the one experienced during the creation of art. Which is a way to keep in touch with your wisdom. That's why he...
