I do not dance…I'm too awkward and too self-aware of my awkwardness…I know we're all supposed to dance like no one is looking, but when it comes to me, people will look, point, and judge… My wife realizes this…since we were married decades okay, she's had to be content with the fact that she got that dance at the wedding and that's pretty much it…and that's because she's not into dancing, either… I can feel the judgment stop it… This doesn't mean that music doesn't move me…I've got that involuntary need to move when the music is great…and I don't mean tapping a toe or nodding my head, although that's where it starts… Put it this way: I've done my time in the pit…I've been elbowed, kneed, kicked, head-butted, burn with cigarettes and joints, and doused with water (at least I hope it was water)…no problem because that's all part of the pit experience…the only thing I haven't done is stage dove or crowd-surfed…I'm not sure why… But here's a question: why is there a pit in the first place?...who came up with this idea?...how did it spread?...and is it the same everywhere?... These are important anthropological questions…we're deal with a type of human behavior that's seen all over the world…I think we need to study this…here a whole hour on the history of moshing… Learn more about your ad choices. HardLore is honored to be joined by the Godfather of hardcore himself: Vinnie Stigma from Agnostic Front. A true pioneer of the genre and a living legend, Vinnie took us around his neighborhood in New York City, including the world famous former home of the legendary venue CBGBs. We learned all about his early days as a punk rocker, making the jump to hardcore, how much he misses playing in Madball and SO much more in these incredible 2 hours of the hardest lore yet. There's possibly no hardcore today without Vinnie and Agnostic Front's contributions to the genre, and there's certainly no HardLore. They say never meet your heroes.. They've never met Stigma. We can't thank everyone involved enough for making this happen. Vinnie, Mike Dijan, Tom Sheehan, our special guest co-host Dan Seely, Producer Andie Andres, PA Aaron Warman, and the incredibly talented Rob Menzer for bringing this insane journey to life. Over the past few months it's been well documented that Elis James is the busiest man on earth, so this week he decided to take some much needed time off to top up his tan / vibe stores. But who could keep his seat warm whilst he keeps himself warm in Portugal? There was only one man for the job: everyone's favourite Old Etonian (depending on which newspaper you read), the one and only Ivo Graham! And just like a loan player looking to make their mark in lower league football, he wasn't content with sitting on the bench! He got stuck in from the first minute, gave John the runaround and even left a leg in on Producer Dave. There's a Made Up Game which some (including the higher-ups at 5 Live) have branded ‘risky', Ivo takes a look through this week's broadsheets, John discusses his most recent step to becoming a beefcake, and a loveable East End builder stops by to give us a quote. Bosh!
