Building on episodes 102, 103, and 104, we continue to explore the deep impact of these challenges. We begin by examining the need to address both individual and systemic factors, emphasizing the importance of cultural shifts within medical environments and advocating for meaningful systems change. As the episode concludes, our experts highlight actionable steps medical schools can take to better support mental health, including fostering open dialogue, ensuring accessible resources, and creating a culture of vulnerability. In memory of Dr. Jack Rudell, we close with a piece of his music—a poignant reminder of the personal nature of this issue and the critical need to keep every trainee's light shining. Description of Series DWDI Special Series: Suicidality in Medical Training dives into the critical conversations around mental health, well-being, support systems, and the intense pressures faced during medical training. Through the power of storytelling, the series intertwines these broader themes with the deeply personal story of Dr. Jack Ruddell, a promising medical student who tragically died by suicide. Jack's journey—his strengths, struggles, and the complexities leading to his untimely death—forms the emotional core of this five-part series, giving voice to the loved ones often excluded from these conversations. Alongside Jack's story, the series incorporates expert insights and data from the literature, offering a human perspective on burnout, depression, and suicide among medical trainees. With a commitment to improving mental health awareness and reducing the stigma around seeking help, the series presents a novel approach by centering personal narratives alongside expert analysis. It also explores actionable strategies for improving medical training environments and highlights the importance of institutional responses after a loss by suicide. Our mission is to reduce shame, encourage help-seeking among medical students struggling with depression, and ensure that every medical school is aware of the postvention resources offered by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Boo! Did you miss us? Jacob and Trenton are back with a special kickoff to Season 3 with a Halloween episode before resuming the usual weekly flow of content. For once, the pair manage to stay mostly on track besides a quick detour from Halloween to Thanksgiving. In a new quiz segment, Jacob tries to trick Trenton into wrong answers while Trenton utilizes preschool-level multiple-choice tactics to his advantage. All this happens whilst the pair are climbing a building and talking about the spooky sport of buildering (except for Trenton, who was only climbing virtually because he's scared). Recorded 10/27/31.

Michelle Szeto is Vice President of the Management Division at Paquin Entertainment Group in Nashville. I first met Michelle with one of her longtime clients, Donovan Woods at a Juno Awards Gala broadcast. Since, we've worked on a few projects together in my work at SiriusXM.Michelle got her first taste of the entertainment industry at an early age in her hometown of Hong Kong, working in concert production for international superstars such as Oasis, Celine Dion, Boyz II Men, Sean Lennon and Prodigy. Wait until you hear the Noel Gallagher part!!Since joining Paquin Entertainment Group over fifteen years ago, Michelle has worked in publicity, tour marketing and management. Now, in her role as Vice President, Management Division, Michelle personally manages award-winning artists and songwriter: Donovan Woods, Logan Wall, Aaron Raitiere, Wild Rivers, Devan and Cassidy Mann; continues to lead global marketing and press initiatives for management clients, including Buffy Sainte-Marie; and works alongside the Agency division in international talent acquisition and tour marketing support for its roster of artists. During the pandemic, Michelle and Donovan launched a record label together which they called End x Music (end times music...the pandemic, you get it). The core of End Times' mission is transparency and adaptability. In the world of streaming, the data is available. Artists should understand their expenses and their earnings as well as anyone they work with. It allows us to interpret and react to how, why, and where songs are being discovered. There are many pathways to success, and success looks different to everyone. The San has recently welcomed to its Radiology and Nuclear medicine department a new service – Theranostics. Theranostics is a personalised approach to treating cancer using both therapy and diagnostics. The first therapy that will be used by the service is for men with advanced prostate cancer called Lutetium-177 Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen aka "Lutetium-PSMA" therapy. This therapy is used when the disease has spread, and other treatments have failed or been poorly tolerated. The theranostics service at San Radiology & Nuclear Medicine commenced in March 2021, with a dedicated theranostics area within the imaging department which will enable the dedicated team to treat up to three patients at any one time in a safe and comfortable environment. You get a person like Andrew when positivity collides with work ethic. Of the many things you could call this man: engineer, videographer, skateboarder, woodworker—lazy does not rank among them. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of a new skill, interest or craft. It is something wholly different to continue applying yourself past the initial spark which catches your interest. It takes real effort and commitment. Andrew has it, and he's got enough to share around. I could tell from our very first correspondence that Andrew was a man of vision, and getting a chance to glimpse in greater detail what that vision entails is totally engrossing. You may not personally pursue exactly what Andrew does, but his enthusiasm and clarity for the causes he champions, refreshingly reminds us that diligent execution, although the road less travelled, will always lead us home.
